Hi Tumblr, I'm new (kinda) here and I know I'm posting into the void, but I wrote this song in my bedroom in Pointe St. Charles back in 2019 and it just celebrated 4 years on streaming as part of an EP called "Guys Like George" where I sampled all my favorite guys named George.
If you like music and unhinged rambling, follow and I will try not to disappoint. :)

Who would survive in the Apocalypse? Medici Edition
Piccarda and Giovanni Medici
Giovanni dies at the outbreak, getting bitten while his family tries to get to safety. Cosimo and Lorenzo drag Giovanni into the car and take off trying to get someplace. Not knowing what to do, Giovanni dies and turns. Marco Bello is the one to put him down. The family buries him and then continues to a safe house they have.
Piccarda outlives her husband but only by three months, she gets sick when an illness runs through the camp they are with and she dies. Lorenzo is heartbroken and Cosimo is indifferent and is the one to put his mother down.
Despite both their parents being gone, Cosimo and Lorenzo use all the lessons they were taught to cultivate a community in the fallen world.

Since you can't share top picks for potential baby names, would you be willing to share which ones you considered that didn't quite make the cut? AKA ones you know you won't be using?
YESSSSSS I feel like I’m an influencer for the first time. I have to keep my two top picks each for boys and girls to myself in case I use them in the future but if I don’t and I still have this blog when my family is complete I’ll share.
I won’t be sad if you judge me in the notes! These names all didn’t make the cut for a reason.
Boys
James (My husband and I actually both like this name but my extended family has two James’ already)
Basil
Bates
Geordi (We are Trekkies and love Geordi LaForge but sadly decided that this is a cute little boy’s name but maybe sounds a little juvenile for a grown man.)
Mathi
Ambrose
Anselm
Atticus
Mangan (This was intended to honor a male mentor in my life but my husband knew a kid named Mangan who sucked and ruined this one for him.)
Sheridan (We decided this sounded too feminine.)
Selwyn
Sigrun (We actually liked this for a boy, nicknamed Sig or Siggy, but concluded that the Norse mythology connection made it too feminine.)
Zefram
Amyas/Amias (This was my top pick boy name for a while but my husband didn’t like this one at all.)
Leander
Lemuel
Laertes (Another of my favorites my husband didn’t like.)
Peregrine (This is a saint name that goes well with my second-favorite girl name but obviously most people hear Peregrine Falcon.)
Penton
Delemay (We decided this one sounded to feminine.)
Viggo
Kodiak (I said the mountains. My husband said the camera.)
Silas
Gideon
Pascoe (My husband thinks this is too close to Pascal, which makes him think of Tangled.)
Jude
Jethro (My mom actually vetoed this one.)
Girls
Ronnette/Roni (My family has a lot of Ronalds after a family member who passed away, and I liked this feminine alternative.
Agnes (This was one of the few girl names my husband and I both liked for a while.)
Liesl (Like the Sound of Music.)
Zelpha (Another family name)
Sophronia (Also a family name)
Brontë (For the author sisters.)
Piccarda
Simonetta
Lucretia (Can you tell I read a lot about the Italian Renaissance)
Romy/Roamy
Paget (Like the actor from Criminal Minds.)
Thaïs (This was too similar to another family member’s name)
Tula (Fandom alert this was a character from Dimension 20: Burrow’s End)
Zoah
Bryony
Ardis (I actually have an acquaintance named this but it’s SUCH a cool one, and a shorter alternative to Artemis.)
Wynne (Whoops! My in-laws named their dog this :))
Winona
Etta
Eulalie
Gwynedd (Too similar to the name of a family member)
Nadine
Saryn

Once you get this, you have to say five things you like about yourself, publicly. Then you have to send this to ten of your favorite followers 🖤
Incorporating my answer w the one @heraldofcrow sent me as ive recieved both AT ONCE lmao
1- My often? Lackadaisical attitude? Ik that many people might consider it a flaw but learning to not give a shit about things that would bother others has avoided me soo much trouble and anguish irl (like classroom drama. Like my classroom is actually really shitty but the situation doesnt affect me as much as it should because my to go attitude is like "those guys are assholes, elitists, [intellectually below me] and also i wont see them after i graduate WHY should i spend my precious time seething about them?)
2- I guess i have a talent for spotting recurring themes and for literary analysis that is considered out of the box! Like in a fandom context it isn't very shown because i don't write metas, but in more academic contexts it is shown! I am still particularly proud of my infamous Giovanni Pascoli incest essay or the one where i linked Francesca and Piccarda from Dante's Comedy and how they related to the myth of Tristram and Isolde (and chivalric literature in general)
3- I have a huge talent for languages and translating! I pick up, again, structural patterns in languages as soon as i put some study in it. This isn't only with english, but also for latin and greek and this is why i am like the only person in my class who is able to translate effortlessly without studying grammar rulesejjsjxjsk, often i read and translate!
4-My culture lol. As a kid i liked to spend straight up DAYS on books like encyclopedias or heavy narrative books for older audiences, to the point where i could recite verbatim certain passages. Now it has died down a bit, but i still have the enormous cultural luggage it left inside of me and that's how you get me having long discussions w my grecolatin lit teacher about all the societal collapses and mass natural disasters that happened in the early age of humanity and how they influenced the common myths around the world
5- My sense of humour! It isn't an _established_ one, as it can pass from deadpan to vulgar to absurdists lol. I HAVE THE RANGE!!!!

A Paradicsom
Például Piccarda, egykori sógornőm, akit apja akaratából kényszerítettek a világi életbe.Következő: Merkúr ege. Azok lelkei lakják, akik aktívan jó ügyért dolgoztak. Itt Justinianus császár elmesélte nekem a Római Birodalom teljes sztoriját – spoiler: elég hosszú volt.Utána Vénusz ege, ahol azok laknak, akik fellázadtak a hit gyalázói ellen. Itt találkoztam a dédapámmal, akivel hosszasan elbeszélgettünk.

On this basis, Purgatory is the condition of those who want things to be other than they are but know, and are willing to undergo, the often long and painful due process to bring about the desired circumstances. Heaven, finally, is the state - not of those who have achieved all their highest desires, as would be true in a theological or eschatological heaven - of those who have attained an accurate and productive working relationship with those about them. It is this accuracy of visions, of self and environs, which constitutes a living in the present. This accuracy of social vision and relation is seen on ordered levels, from that of Piccarda (where it is close to bland smugness) through the proper and clear ordering of the virtues - today we might call them 'values' - demonstrated as we mount from one 'heaven' to the next. These are the same virtues, or qualities of God that were listed, with intentional unclarity, on the archway to Hell; but here, in the last utopia, or highest condition of earthly man, these are seen as the 'qualities' of God that must be imaged in human society.

In a dystopian future where art and human expressions are regulated by a totalitarian regime, a young woman named Ava lives in the shadows of a society that values conformity over creativity. Born with a rare genetic ability to see the world in shades of gray, Ava’s monochrome vision is a metaphor for the colorless life imposed upon her and her people.
One fateful day, Ava stumbles upon a forbidden book hidden in the decrepit library of her city. The book is an anthology of stories and paintings from the Renaissance, featuring works by an obscure artist named Piccarda Bueri. Her interest piqued, Ava secretly reads about Bueri's life and discovers that she was not only a talented painter but also a visionary who believed in the power of art to inspire change.
Inspired by Bueri’s ideals, Ava begins to create her own art in secret, using a style that mimics the grayscale of her vision yet imbues it with deep emotional intensity. Her art becomes a form of silent rebellion, a way to bring color and hope back to the hearts of those who have been forced to see the world through the regime’s dull lens.
As Ava’s art gains underground popularity, the regime becomes aware of her activities. They see her as a threat to their control and launch a hunt to capture her. Ava, with a growing band of followers inspired by her courage and Piccarda Bueri’s ideals, plans a revolution that could either free their society or lead to their ultimate downfall.
Navigating through a maze of secret meetings, coded messages, and daring escapades, Ava’s journey is a testament to the power of art to challenge the status quo and envision a new world. Her final masterpiece, a massive mural hidden in the heart of the city, becomes a beacon of resistance. It’s an intricate grayscale painting that, when viewed at a certain time of day, reveals a burst of color, symbolizing the potential for change and the enduring human spirit.
The story of Ava and Piccarda Bueri intertwines across time, uniting two artists in a timeless struggle for freedom and expression, proving that art is not only a reflection of reality but also a powerful weapon against oppression.

Raffaello Sanzio - Roma - Musei Vaticani - Parnaso - 1511
la vittima di un femminicidio Pia de' Tolomei ("Deh, quando tu sarai tornato al mondo, e riposato de la lunga via", seguitò 'l terzo spirito al secondo, "Ricorditi di me, che son la Pia; Siena mi fé, disfecemi Maremma: salsi colui che 'nnanellata pria disposando m'avea con la sua gemma");
l'incontro nel Purgatorio con Forese Donati con cui Dante si scambiò una celebre Tenzone e, nel Paradiso, con la sorella Piccarda che venne fatta uscire con la forza dalla vita monastica. I Donati, a capo dei Guelfi Neri, inviarono Dante, appartenente ai Guelfi Bianchi, in esilio;
la figura cavalleresca del figlio di Federico II, Manfredi ("biondo era e bello e di gentil aspetto");
l'amico Casella ("Ohi ombre vane, fuor che ne l’aspetto! Tre volte dietro a lei le mani avvinsi, e tante mi tornai con esse al petto");
Virgilio (" tempo de li dei falsi e bugiardi”, “Tu se’ lo mio maestro e ‘l mio autore, tu se’ solo colui da cu’ io tolsi lo bello stilo che m’ha fatto onore");
Caronte ("Non isperate mai veder lo cielo", "vuolsi così colà dove si puote ciò che si vuole, e più non dimandare");
la figlia di Guido da Polenta (signore di Ravenna), Francesca, e il fratello del suo sposo Gianciotto Malatesta Paolo ("la bocca mi basciò tutto tremante. Galeotto fu ‘l libro e chi lo scrisse: quel giorno più non vi leggemmo avante");
l’illustre ghibellino Farinata degli Uberti;
Ulisse, il cui canto è richiamato nel lager da Primo Levi (“l’ardore ch’i’ ebbi a divenir del mondo esperto, e de li vizi umani e del valore; ma misi me per l’alto mare aperto…Considerate la vostra semenza: fatti non foste a viver come bruti, ma per seguir virtute e canoscenza";
Geri del Bello, ucciso dalla famiglia Sacchetti, non vendicato dalla famiglia di Dante a cui apparteneva;
il Conte Ugolino (“poscia, più che il dolor, poté il digiuno");
Celestino V (“colui / che fece per viltade il gran rifiuto”);
il crociato è trisavolo Cacciaguida che predice a Dante l’esilio (“Tu proverai sì come sa di sale lo pane altrui, e come è duro calle lo scendere e ‘l salir per l’altrui scale”) e critica la corruzione della Firenze del ‘300 (“le genti nove e i subiti guadagni”) come sintomo del declino dell’ordine della società medievale;
San Bernardo di Chiaravalle che accompagna Dante nell’ultimo canto del Paradiso invocando la Madonna (“«Vergine Madre, figlia del tuo figlio, umile e alta più che creatura, termine fisso d’etterno consiglio, tu se’ colei che l’umana natura nobilitasti sì, che ’l suo fattore non disdegnò di farsi sua fattura);
Cangrande della Scala, Signore di Verona ove è sepolto in una delle arche gotiche, a cui è dedicata la cantica del Paradiso;

***
