Pi Beta Phi Elementary School is open!!! Smiles and laughter have filled our beloved school. On November 28 smoke from the Chimney Tops 2 fire filled the halls and class rooms and forced the children to be evacuated. Today, 86 days later, the front doors are open and the students are back in THEIR school, not farmed out to others. This is a huge moment in our recovery. Our children have endured more than they should have in this tramatic event. Being seperated from their familiar environment, their friends, and beloved teachers inhibits the necessary healing they require. For our children to have endured this seperation and trama so long, yet smiling happy faces greet each other shows their strength. They are indeed Mountain Strong.
