Home Visit Physiotherapy: The New Frontier in Personalized Rehabilitation
Home visit physiotherapy is revolutionizing the way rehabilitation services are delivered, offering individuals the opportunity to receive personalized care and support in the comfort of their own homes. In this blog post, we will explore the concept of home visit physiotherapy, its benefits, and how it is shaping the future of rehabilitation.
The Evolution of Rehabilitation
Traditionally, individuals seeking rehabilitation services, such as physiotherapy, were required to visit a clinic or hospital regularly. While these facilities offer quality care, they often lack the personalized touch and convenience that home visit physiotherapy provides. As a result, home-based rehabilitation has emerged as a promising new frontier in healthcare.
What is Home Visit Physiotherapy?
Home visit physiotherapy, also known as domiciliary physiotherapy, involves licensed physiotherapists traveling to the patient's home to provide treatment and rehabilitation services. This approach allows for a more personalized and patient-centered experience. Here's how it works:
Initial Assessment: The physiotherapist conducts an initial assessment to evaluate the patient's condition, mobility, and specific needs.
Tailored Treatment Plan: Based on the assessment, the physiotherapist designs a customized treatment plan that addresses the patient's goals and limitations.
Treatment Sessions: Regular treatment sessions are scheduled at the patient's convenience, ensuring minimal disruption to their daily routine.
Monitoring Progress: The physiotherapist closely monitors the patient's progress and adjusts the treatment plan as needed to achieve optimal results.
Benefits of Home Visit Physiotherapy
Home visit physiotherapy offers a range of benefits for both patients and healthcare providers:
Personalized Care: Patients receive one-on-one attention, with treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and goals.
Comfort and Convenience: Patients can undergo rehabilitation in the comfort of their own homes, reducing the stress associated with traveling to a clinic.
Improved Compliance: Patients are more likely to adhere to their treatment plans when therapy is easily accessible, leading to better outcomes.
Reduced Healthcare Costs: Home-based care may reduce overall healthcare costs by minimizing the need for hospital stays or long-term clinic visits.
Enhanced Safety: Home environments are familiar and safe, reducing the risk of accidents or infections that can occur in healthcare facilities.
Access for Vulnerable Populations: Home visit physiotherapy ensures that vulnerable populations, such as the elderly or those with mobility issues, have access to essential rehabilitation services.
The Future of Rehabilitation
Home visit physiotherapy is shaping the future of rehabilitation by placing the patient at the center of care. As healthcare continues to evolve, we can expect to see several trends in this field:
Technological Integration: Physiotherapists may incorporate telehealth and wearable devices into home-based rehabilitation, allowing for real-time monitoring and remote consultations.
Specialized Services: Providers may offer specialized home visit services for specific patient groups, such as pediatric or geriatric populations.
Interdisciplinary Care: Collaboration between physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals may become more common to address holistic patient needs.
Outcome-Based Care: Rehabilitation providers will focus on delivering results-driven care, measuring progress and adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
Conclusion
Home visit physiotherapy represents a new frontier in personalized rehabilitation, offering patients the convenience and individualized care they deserve. This innovative approach not only enhances the patient experience but also contributes to better outcomes and improved overall healthcare. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, home visit physiotherapy is set to play an increasingly important role in ensuring that rehabilitation services are accessible, effective, and patient-centered.

Today Steve is going to tell Eddie he loves him. It's been a long time coming. Years of cradling a secret close to his heart, boy-shaped, squashed and trampled over in the stampede of girlsgirlsgirls, until he met Robin, with her own girl-shaped secret she put in his hands.
Steve and his boy-shaped secret unraveled slowly, holding Robin's hand along the way until 1986, where it exploded into bloom of petals and roots when Eddie Munson held sharp glass to his throat and later when Steve held his warm insides in his hands under blood-red sky. Steve's secret quickly became Eddie-shaped, through hours of waiting for the surgery to finish, the charges to drop, the stitches to come out, the physiotherapy. Through silent companionship of Wayne Munson in Eddie's hospital room.
With their combined government payouts they fled to Chicago, with tearful farewells, to make something SteveRobinEddie shaped for themselves in their small apartment with mismatched furniture and a couch that sags in the middle. Steve became enamoured with Eddie in Hawkins but he fell in love with him in Chicago, where Eddie flourished, bloomed, flowered into someone new, someone free and unrestrained, a wild wind sprite, a whirlwind of human passion he was always meant to be.
Today Steve is going to tell Eddie he loves him.
Robin is already home, holding his hand in her own, their knuckles overlapping and white where they squeeze each other, trembling with excitement and adrenaline. She held his Eddie-shaped secret in her hands and he loves her.
Eddie comes back home like a hurricane, a storm of chains and hair, tripping over the mountain of shoes in the entryway and the raised corner of a rug they can never get to lay down. He's flushed, starry eyed, and Steve loves him. He stumbles to them and they part for him instinctually, letting him fall into the saggy middle cushion of their awful couch and he falls gracelessly, his head in Steve's lap and legs in Robin's.
He looks up and Steve with big eyes that have galaxies in them, cheeks flushed gentle rose and lips trapped between pearly teeth, dimples denting his face.
Steve is going to tell him he loves him.
"I-" Eddie takes a deep breath, wiggles like a worm in a hook. "I have a boyfriend now".
Steve takes his Eddie-shaped secret and puts it back behind the bars of his ribcage.
"I'm happy for you, man".
Eddie grins, eyes crinkling.
Steve should've told him yesterday.

Come Home Chapter Twenty
Joel Miller x F! Reader
Word count: 4593
You and Joel settle into your relationship, but Ellie's suspicions are high.
I've taken some liberties here with the order of Ellie’s journal.
Come Home
Chapter Twenty - Scene
The days that follow are more full of colour than you ever remember there being in the world. Bright, golden sunlight, skies of the deepest azure, verdant green grasses, delicate white and opulent pink of the cherry blossoms and magnolia trees that erupt in gardens and send their petals cascading through the town like confetti.
Both you and Joel attend to your normal tasks in Jackson – you with your rehabilitation appointments and helping in any way that you can while you’re still hobbled by your shoulder, and he with scouting, building, farming, any number of chores that he is asked to do. While you always enjoyed going beyond the walls of Jackson with him, you now find it a fraught affair when he goes out without you. There is a ball of agonised anxiety that takes root in the pit of your stomach and that doesn’t leave until he inevitably returns, always with reassurances that he’s okay and that there is nothing to worry about. You enjoy watching him at his carpentry far more and he has caught you actively ogling him on more than one occasion. Well, how can you help it when he looks like that? When his biceps curl and strain against his short sleeves as he saws and hammers? When his t shirt darkens at his neck and the small of his back and clings to him as he works? When he stretches up to measure the timber and you get a peek of that beautiful line of hair that stretches downward from his navel?
“We ain’t gonna have to tell folks if you keep on lookin’ at me like that,” he chuckles quietly one evening as you busy yourself in your kitchen making food for the three of you.
“Can’t help it. You look too good,” you say simply as you add salt and pepper to the pot.
“I didn’t say I had a problem with it,” he asserts smoothly as he plants dainty kisses across the nape of your neck, making you shiver and goosepimple before stepping back a respectable distance in case Ellie came charging in without knocking.
She’s doing that a lot these days, and you can’t help but feel like she’s trying to catch you in the act. You’re aware that Joel hasn’t told her what has changed between the two of you, but you can see the suspicion in her eyes when they flit between you when you talk and laugh, and she no longer makes excuses to leave you alone together after your game nights or dinner. So, you and Joel snatch time together whenever you can and the desperation of the stolen kisses between you only serve to ramp up the intensity of your feelings. In the stables, behind the barn, in the clinic after your physiotherapy when he comes to walk you back to your house, and once in the toilets of the Tipsy Bison when you were both…well…tipsy. It’s never gone further than kissing, but the crush of his mouth against yours and the taste of him on your tongue is something you know you could never get tired of.
You understand why he hasn’t said anything to her. This is so new, such untrodden territory and right now you couldn’t even put a name to it to begin talking with Ellie about what was going on. Besides, you felt it was up to him to decide when was right. While you and her were close, she was still his family and you had to believe that he knew what was best for her and for them.
The sling comes off just over two weeks after it went on and you’re overjoyed that you can now not only begin to do things with two hands, but that you can hold Joel close to you properly, something which you do mere minutes after you’ve got rid of the thing and Doctor Graham leaves the room.
“Eager,” he teases gently as he gathers you to him and strokes his hands softly down your back.
“Damn right,” you agree, testing your newfound freedom by hugging him as tightly to you as your shoulder will allow.
Day to day life comes easier after that, though Maria is still reluctant to give you anything too strenuous to work on. Still, you manage to do simple farming chores – watering the plants in the greenhouses, feeding the chickens and collecting their eggs, picking the produce that was ready – and you throw yourself into your tasks, savouring the new freedom of your body and how it is getting stronger.
Ellie, however, is still desperate to rid herself of farming duties. She asks Maria if she can work with Joel for a while instead, and when she agrees he begins teaching her the basics of carpentry. She’s good at it and you love the way you see Joel swell with pride when he can see the physical results of the knowledge he’s imparting. Truth be told, you’re glad she has something to distract her. She definitely knows something is going on, but because no one has been forthcoming with information she has drawn back and become a little more distant than usual. It’s worrying to you, that perhaps she wouldn’t approve of what you and Joel were doing. And that if she really couldn’t stand the idea, you would have to give him up for the sake of their relationship. There would be no other choice, either for you or him, you knew that. But the thought of it caused your heart to clench painfully, imagining seeing him every day but being unable to be as close to him as you wanted to be.
One afternoon after you’ve been to visit Mrs. Drew, who is now becoming less grumpy and more inclined to give you little knick-knacks and presents every time you visit her with groceries and other supplies, you stop by where they are working alongside Tommy. They seem to be building a new chicken coop and the air is thick with the sound of sawing and ringing hammers. You hang back at first, not wanting to disturb them while they’re busy, but as soon as Joel spots you he grins and immediately downs his tools.
“You good?” he asks.
“All fine,” you affirm. “Just wanted to say I’ve got some stew going back home if you’re hungry. Come over if you feel up to it. Or I can bring it to you guys if you’re tired.”
“Well…I am kinda beat today,” says Joel, his smile sliding into something a little more weary. “If you wouldn’t mind…”
“Not at all,” you say softly, and you have to tear your eyes from his face before it becomes too obvious that looking away from him is the last thing you want to do right now. You turn to Ellie with a questioning look instead to see how she feels about having dinner delivered to her, but her eyes are narrowed and not missing a trick. She’s giving you both appraising looks, from one to the other, as if trying to work you out.
“Ellie?” you prompt, trying to sound casual. “You want me to bring your food to your place? Or eat at Joel’s?”
“Whichever,” she says shiftily, and you sigh internally at her abruptness.
“Tommy? You and Maria want in?”
“Ah thanks, but we’ve got plans tonight,” he replies. “But you three should come to ours at some point. Maybe before movie night on Saturday?”
You had completely forgotten that a movie night was on the cards, but found yourself looking forward to it. And you were always happy to reap the benefits of someone else’s cooking.
“Sounds good to me,” says Joel. “Ellie?”
“Yeah. Cool,” she responds ambivalently as she shifts some wood around.
“Well, that’s a plan then,” Tommy confirms.
You depart shortly after, not wanting to arouse Ellie’s suspicions any further than they already were by goggling at Joel while he was trying to work. As the stew is simmering away quite happily on its own and the evening outside is pleasant you decide to do something small to celebrate having both hands at your disposal again. When Mrs. Drew had discovered that you had liked to knit and sew prior to the outbreak, she had insisted that you take a set of needles and some yarn, and also gave you permission to come and use her sewing machine as you saw fit.
The wooden chair on your porch is made more comfortable with the addition of a cushion, and you set a steaming cup of peppermint tea on the table, the fresh leaves harvested from one of the plants that you and Ellie have nurtured between you. Sweet springtime scents of grass and magnolia are carried to you on the warm breeze. Flowers that are starting to flourish in gardens and that bud in window boxes nod along to it, the rustle of leaves a soothing hiss of background noise. A gentle peace permeates the evening. Your fingers are clumsy as first, having not made these subtle movements in such a long time. But before long the muscle memory is revived and you begin to create rows in earnest, vague thoughts of Christmas scarves and hats for Ellie and Joel flitting through your mind.
After a time, distant voices begin to filter through the peace that surrounds you and you smile to yourself as you recognise the sounds of your neighbours making their way home.
“-found all these art supplies,” Ellie is saying. “It was pretty cool.”
“Where did you say this was?” asks Joel.
“Just an old campground,” Ellie says shiftily. “On the edge of Jackson. No one had been in there for a while.”
Though you were still a relative newcomer to Jackson, you didn’t recall there being any kind of place within its walls.
Joel is clearly thinking along the same lines because he begins “I don’t remember seein’-“ before Ellie steamrollers through his sentence and continues talking.
“So Dina went back to get more paper and made me this!”
They emerge into your line of sight, Ellie with a gaudily colourful paper crown on her head, and Joel eyeing her suspiciously. His face clears as he catches sight of you behind her, and Ellie turns to regard you too.
“It’s a good look for the Queen of Jackson,” you smile and are rewarded when she beams back at you. You stand and stretch, rolling your shoulders gently and not missing the way that Joel’s eyes drop to your chest as you puff it out. You can’t help the smirk that crosses your face, and he gives an unabashed grin in return. “You guys ready for some food?”
“God yes, I’m starving,” she says eagerly.
“Jus’ give us some time to wash up,” Joel adds, and Ellie throws her head back with an exaggerated and exasperated groan that he is delaying her mealtime a while longer.
Once back in your kitchen, you spoon a good proportion of the stew into a red ceramic crock pot and place the lid on it before carrying it across to Joel’s house, your shoulder only mildly protesting at the strain it is under.
“Hey, sweetheart,” Joel beams once he answers the door, and the term of endearment makes you smile shyly. “Come on in. Let me take that…Jesus! This thing is really fuckin’ heavy! You sure you should be strainin’ that shoulder?”
You grin at his fussing over you.
“Well the doc did say I can do more with it. I need to build up the muscles again before I can think of starting to go back outside, so…” You trail off as you follow him into his house, hoping he understands that you want to get back out there with him as soon as possible.
He places the stew on his stove and you move to the cutlery drawer to begin the process of setting the table.
“Nuh-uh,” he chides softly as he comes up behind you and closes the drawer again. “Ellie’s upstairs takin’ her shower and I feel like I ain’t seen you in days.”
"Joel, you literally saw me twenty minutes ago," you smirk as you turn to him.
"Daaaays," he repeats softly as he cages you with his arms against the counter top and kisses you hungrily. God you were never going to get enough of this. You can feel his desire in the movement of his lips, feel how he’s holding himself back from devouring you, feel the delicious tension in the low rumbling moan that he can’t stop himself from emitting. But his hands are gentle as they slide from the counter to hold you closer, one continuing its path up your back and neck and around your face until it presses delicately against your cheek, cradling your jaw and holding you exactly where you both want you to be. He’s always so gentle with you, even when you cling to each other desperately in the darkness of the barn, even when you know there is so little time that you can steal, there is always a tenderness in his actions.
Sometimes you wish he would be a little rougher.
The thought rises unbidden and it fans the embers that seem to be constantly within you these days to a sudden roar. You press yourself against him more fully, sliding your hands around his hips, up under his shirt and running them over the rippled muscles of his shoulders with careless abandon. The shuddering exhalation that your skin on his elicits from him provokes a near savage feeling somewhere within and your kisses burn hotter, more desperate as you trail your lips over the hair at his jaw, mouthing at his neck as you rake your nails softly down his back.
“Oh, fuck,” he whispers fervently. “You…you gotta stop.”
You break away from him immediately, and take in his now slightly dishevelled, panting self, his eyes dark and wild as they look at you, his lips swollen from the bruising kisses you had shared. Did you do that? With a few simple touches of your hands and lips?
“Sorry,” you murmur, not sounding sorry in the slightest. “I just…you’re just-”
“I know,” he says, kissing you chastely and smiling cheekily. “So are you. But I can’t be all riled up just before dinner.”
“Well…it’s a little late for me,” you confess, running your hands through his soft waves.
Before he can respond you hear a door close upstairs. You both look toward the sound and then back at each other, and he plants one last soft kiss on your forehead before sliding his hands back from around your waist. You smile to yourself as you hear Ellie begin to move around upstairs, and you begin to rifle through the cutlery drawer again.
Dinner is a little more uncomfortable than you expected. You’re trying to keep your eyes off Joel as much as possible, certain that at these close quarters Ellie’s scrutiny of your behaviour will reveal something you don’t want it to. Instead you mostly look at her, or down at your plate, and every time you risk a look at Joel he seems to be doing the same thing. In between eating, the three of you talk about what you think will be shown at the movie night, how Ellie is enjoying being away from farming, how you think your shoulder is healing. The usual, pleasantly innocuous conversation you would expect to find at the dinner table and you begin to slide into a more relaxed feeling about the evening.
And that’s when Ellie strikes.
You swear she waits until the precise moment Joel takes a large swig of water before she speaks.
“So…you guys fucking?”
It works. Joel’s eyes bulge comically as he splutters and then spits his water all over the table and his empty plate and begins coughing violently.
“Well, that’s a yes,” she mutters, her eyes dancing gleefully.
“E-Ellie! Christ!” he wheezes between coughs.
“Oh please. You two are so not subtle. And you-" She points at Joel accusingly "-were waaaay too happy that whole trip out to the museum.”
“I was happy…because…I was with you…ungrateful…child!”
“Yeah, but-“
She suddenly looks uncertain and her eyes dart between you and Joel. You look down at your own plate and bite your lip. It wasn’t your place to say anything if Joel wasn’t ready to tell her. In all things concerning Ellie, he would necessarily have to be the one to make final decisions of this kind. It was just how it was. You had no desire to complicate their relationship or insert yourself where you weren’t wanted, nor to take a father from a girl who had already seemingly lost so much. At the same time, she wasn’t stupid and you didn’t want to lie.
You look up again to find Joel looking at you. He’s still clearing his throat, trying valiantly to dislodge the remnants of the water in there. He gives a tiny nod, and you take that as your cue to proceed.
“Not…not fucking, no."
“But you are together?”
“If we were would that be okay?”
Ellie sighs deeply and speaks as if what she’s saying is the most obvious thing in the world. “Yes, dummies. It would be okay. I…I know you were worried about taking him away from me, but I also know that’s not going to happen. I just want this loser-“ she gestures at Joel again “-to be happy. And you make him happy. So…I’m happy. Just don’t be too gross, okay?”
Joel has finally stopped coughing and his smile is deep and radiant as he looks from Ellie to you.
“I think we can manage that,” he murmurs as he slides his hand across the table to capture yours.
“No. See. Gross. What did I just say?” Ellie scolds, but she’s smiling too as she says it.
The relief you feel is immense. Ellie was the one person that you had been truly worried about in this whole situation, but her assurances and the way her eyes had sparkled when she saw how happy Joel was at her words had successfully put those fears to rest. You’re both still careful around her for the rest of the evening – nothing that could be construed as “gross” for a sixteen year old around her father – but he sits a little closer to you than he would normally, allows his hand to rest briefly on the small of your back as you all help to clear the table. Tiny gestures that mean so much because they come from him and because he doesn’t feel the need to hide them any longer.
Only once during the rest of the week does it get awkward. By mutual agreement, you and Joel are still not openly engaging in anything other than friendly interactions publicly. It’s not that you don’t want people to know, more that the perceived weight of the town’s expectation that you would become something more to each other seems too much to deal with right now when everything is so new.
“I like havin’ you, havin’ this all to myself for now,” Joel says succinctly one night on the sofa after Ellie has gone to bed. He leans into you, pressing you down against the cushions and resting his weight on one arm as he lies above you.
You’ve always got me to yourself,” you reply, running your hand over his tensed bicep and feeling those embers flare into sparks in your abdomen. “You seen yourself, Miller? You think I ever even looked at anyone else in this town?”
“Well shucks,” he purrs, exaggerating that Texan twang. “Pretty lady like you givin’ out compliments like that? You’re gonna give me a big head.” He slides his nose over yours softly before leaning in further to kiss you.
“Oh shi-“
Joel scrambles up from his position as if he’s been burned at the sound of Ellie’s horrified, bitten off expletive. You sit up too and whirl toward her far too forcefully, earning yourself a biting jab of pain through your shoulder and arm.
“Sorry,” she says with a grimace, covering her eyes with one hand. “I forgot my Walkman in here.”
“Fuck, I’m sorry,” you echo, mortified beyond belief. “I should go."
“No, no!” she replies, her voice high and taut with her own embarrassment and still with her hand clapped over her eyes as if Medusa herself was in the room. “I should have knocked. My fault.”
“Ellie, you can take your hand away,” Joel says softly, and somehow he seems the most calm of all of you.
She peeks through her fingers, and when she sees you both sitting normally on the sofa breathes a small sigh and does what he says.
“This is still your house,” Joel continues. “And you come and go as you please. Ain’t nothin’ changin’ that. We just maybe gotta set some ground rules for this whole thing.”
“Like…don’t forget your Walkman?” she jokes weakly.
“Like maybe we keep certain things out of communal areas,” he smiles with a meaningful look at you.
“Hey, it’s your house. You guys set the rules here, I’m just a guest,” you babble, holding your hands up in submission.
“Little bit more than a guest at this point,” he murmurs.
“I’m just gonna shout whenever I come in,” Ellie announces as she grabs her Walkman from where it rests on the bookcase. “Waaay easier.”
Movie night is due to begin at seven on the Saturday evening and so just before five you, Joel and Ellie take the short walk through what passes for the suburbia of Jackson over to Maria and Tommy’s. Their house is closer to the centre of town – a modest, three bedroom affair much like your own. The warmth of cooking and the smell of something delicious hits you as soon as Maria answers the door and invites you in.
“We’re having chilli tonight,” she remarks as she gestures for you to sit down on the comfortable looking chairs in her living room. “Tommy insisted on cooking, so don’t blame me if it’s terrible!”
“Excuse me,” Tommy says as he suddenly appears from the kitchen wearing a sauce spattered apron with an invitation to “Kiss the Cook” on it and waving a wooden spoon in a vaguely threatening way. “My cookin’ is sublime!”
“Smores with cheese,” Joel pipes up. “That’s all I’m sayin’.”
“I ran outta marshmallow. And I was six!”
“No excuse for that monstrosity,” grins Joel as Tommy grumbles to himself while returning to the kitchen.
“God, I miss smores,” you sigh.
“What are smores?” Ellie asks.
“Marshmallow, chocolate and graham crackers toasted over a fire. Its so gooey and sweet…I wonder if twenty year old chocolate would really be that bad.”
“I’ll keep my eye out for some,” Joel promises, twinkling at the yearning expression you can feel on your face. His hand lands upon your knee, squeezing it briefly before withdrawing again. Maria doesn’t miss it.
“Glad to see you two have finally made up properly,” she says slyly.
“Yeah well…figured it was about time I got my head outta my ass,” Joel says sheepishly.
“Chance’d be a fine thing,” Tommy says, his voice floating in from the kitchen.
“Don’t make me come in there and shame that chilli,” Joel fires back, an amused expression on his face. “In fact,” he adds as he stands, “I am gonna go tell him all the things he’s doin’ wrong.” Mild and good natured bickering erupts between the brothers as soon as Joel steps into the kitchen and all three of you roll your eyes at each other and grin.
The chilli is delicious – just the right amount of heat, tender meat, a rich, thick sauce and buttery potato skins on the side. Joel teases that it was his guidance that made the meal so appetising, and you have to stifle your laugher at the outrage on Tommy’s face and in his voice.
After dinner, the five of you stroll into the town centre. People are gathering in the same building that the winter dance was held at, but when you walk in the room looks quite different to before. A projector has been set up at the back of the room, a large white sheet has been affixed to one wall and dozens of chairs have been squeezed in front of it. Children run and squeal as they play, their parents and guardians chatter happily above their noise.
“So what’s on?” you ask Tommy.
“Labyrinth. I was going to go with Indiana Jones, but Maria thought the face melting scene might be a bit too frightenin’ for the littler kids.”
“Ooof, yeah. I remember the first time I saw that. I was ten and it still freaked me out! But David Bowie’s lycra covered crotch should be fine, right?”
Tommy snorts a laugh. “Accordin’ to Maria. Annnd she is the boss.”
He moves away to make the last minute preparations for the evening and Joel takes his place, handing you a bottle of water before opening his own and taking a sip.
“Maybe I should get you some tight lycra pants, Miller,” you say softly so that only he can hear. “Pretty sure you’ve got the goods for them.”
For the second time that week, Joel chokes uncontrollably on his drink. So much so that Ellie looks across from where she’s sat next to a girl with a large and ornate lotus tattooed on her arm before rolling her eyes at the pair of you and resuming her conversation.
“Jesus Christ, woman. What brought that on?” he wheezes.
“Labyrinth,” you say casually, gesturing to the sheet ahead as the lights begin to dim.
Joel moves behind you, slides one big hand around your waist and pulls you tight against him in the darkness.
“Now you just settle down and behave,” he commands in a husky voice that you’re almost sure has nothing to do with the water he inhaled and that gives you a pleasant tingling shiver all up your spine. “Or I’ll have to stop givin’ you the one thing I know you want from me.”
You tip your head back so you’re face to face with him but upside down.
“Your cooking?” you ask, innocently.
“Damn straight,” he growls menacingly, his eyes twinkling and kind in the semi darkness. And then, so naturally you think he must have forgotten how public a place you’re both in, he kisses you. A soft, brief, chaste kiss, but a kiss nonetheless and when you tip your head the right way again he pulls you even tighter against him and you lace your fingers with him as they rest against your stomach. You settle against him, tuck your head comfortably against the crook of his neck and he kisses you again, this time on top of your head. You can see more than a few people glancing your way, most with small smiles on their faces, some looking a little sullen. This was it then. You and Joel together in public as a couple, no more secrecy or hiding. You can’t deny the rush of warmth that fills you, nor the dopey smile you know is stretched across your face. It feels too good to let people know. That he is yours and you are his.

Unnamed GN! MC x Mammon Fake Fic
Ship is kind of a side pairing? It's definitely there but it focuses on evenryone
@littlewonderstar
Yes okay this is 3 years late.....
Sequel to Chapter 7 - Love Made Me Do it - human childhood friends Au
Okay I wasn't planning a sequel so I need to figure out the timeline first and set up the...story? I dunno, hang on;
Ages by the time all the brothers are permanently living in the 'House of Lamentation';
Lucifer - 29 Mammon & MC - 27 Levi - 26 Asmo - 25 Beel & Belphie - 22 Lilith - 21 Satan - 18
This is also gonna focus on the entire family more than just on mc x mammon
After he turns 18, Mammon lives with Lucifer at his apartment and though they are constantly arguing it's not that bad? If anything it reminds them both of when they were younger before the others came along.
They're both constantly visiting their younger siblings at their foster home and Mammon is still constantly running around causing trouble with MC (this is way before they get their shit together and figure out they're dating).
MC takes a gap year before starting college and Mammon opts out of it altogether, despite Lucifer's insistent screaming, because the structure and process of school was hard enough goddamnit! They both do lots of small, part time jobs during the year (with scams peppered in). By the end of the yr Levi has turned 18 and moves in with Mammon (19) & Lucifer (21).
MC (19) leaves for college and Lucifer has to practically tear Mammon away from them. Mammon mopes around the house for a while after that despite constantly calling and face-timing MC and even Lucifer feels bad enough that he stops nagging Mammon to find a real job (for a week) and moves on to nagging Levi instead.
Asmo moves in by the end of the year when he turns 18 (and by now this little two bedroom apartment has 4 residents) but leaves almost immediately to uni to study to be a fashion designer
Mammon and MC rent out a small shitty one bedroom mattress-on-the-floor-those-stains-on-the-floor-look-suspiciously-like-blood apartment. MC goes to college to become a professional photographer and when their assignments call for it they use Mammon as a muse/model. while Mammon's juggling many part time jobs, this is the foot in the door he needs to start getting small professional modelling gigs that slower grow bigger and more frequent until its earning him a more or less steady income.
Levi helps some online friend with a software issue and this spirals towards him doing software/hardware repair from the apartment he shares with Lucifer (who obviously works for Diavolo - like in the human realm in canon, Diavolo owns a series of popular hotels and Lucifer is in charge of the first/biggest/main one).
Beel goes to college with a sports scholarship while still debating what to do (his ideal dream would be one of those jobs on the food network where you travel around the world eating food but he also doesn't want to be away from his family for too long, specially Belphie). He ends up, through college football, falling into sports physiotherapy and he comes back to Lucifer's every weekend.
Belphie takes a three year break before deciding what to do - mostly he just sleeps during the break & if anyone asks his life plan is to become someone's sugar baby. He does eventually end up going to college for astronomy. He sleeps through all his classes but graduates top of the class. He ends up working as an astronomer but his end goal is to retire as soon as possible and sell feet pics on the internet.
Lilith majors in herpetology with a focus in snakes, she does a minor in women's studies. She ends up in a love triangle in college - dates a guy - breaks up with him after a huge fight but they still hold a candle for each other - he starts dating a girl - Lilith accidentally seduces said girl by showing off her pet snake and buying her a slice of apple pie from a very popular/expensive/exclusive cafe called The Garden which is almost impossible to get into (Luckily her eldest brother's childhood friend/ex/current close friend is the head baker). At this point everyone likes each other but Lilith's never seen her ex's new girlfriend or her current crush's boyfriend and so on and so on. But when her ex gets badly sick & hospitalised Lilith ends up deciding to go visit him and bring a whole apple pie (his favourite) from the cafe. Of course she then meets his girlfriend/her current crush and lots of things are cleared up. When he gets better they all end up sitting down and talking and eventually over time they end up in a relationship together. Lilith does occasionally live with her brothers during college but afterwards the three of them move in together away from the city to a quaint little cottage with a lovely garden (the boyfriend is also dating some guy named Steve but he doesn't live with them). At some point in the future the girlfriend has two kids and I'm sure they live long, happy lives and nothing bad happens. Lilith runs a reptile rescue (specialising in snakes) and jokingly calls them her demon children.
Satan's that person who changes his major at least 5 times - usually depending on what the person in the book he's reading does. In the end he majors in library science and becomes a librarian.
That's the overall setup and what happens to them.
At a point where Lucifer's making the most money he can and none of the others (except Levi) are living with him but are in and out of the (now larger) apartment in groups of twos and threes, he ends up buying a very old very run down mansion where a family of 7 & their servant once lived and died after they were murdered (with only one survivor).
He says none of this to the others. He doesn't even tell them he's buying a house until he does so. During their next family only dinner (MC included because they were part of the family long before they got together with Mammon) Lucifer tells them all he bought a mansion with a large garden, and that any of them that wishes to live there can - free of charge as long as they're willing to split up the food and electricity bills. But that it's a bit rundown and that he wants their help to renovate it. Everyone is of course very excited.
Which leads to them (- lilith who had prior commitments & lives the furthest from everyone), on the next weekend, standing outside the most definitely haunted house they've ever seen. The trees in the front are bare of any leaves and blackened as if burned. Crows litter the branches staring down at them with beady eyes, cawing. It's early morning but the whole area is dark and bats circle the top of the house. The gate is a tall spindly thing that creaks in the wind. There's no other house anywhere close to it and they had to travel down a long narrow twisting road, surrounded on either side by a dense forest of tall thin trees, covered in mist to get to the house. The forest circles the house and the large back garden, now overgrown and full of weeds, almost blends in with the forest.
The eight of them stand in a row in front of the house, 7 of them wearing looks of horror while Lucifer smiles serenely.
"What the fuck" someone quiety mutters though none of them can tell which one it was
Lucifer then proceeds to tell them, quiet happily, the story behind the house before picking up a large box of tools and going inside. The others slowly shuffle after him until it's just Mammon & MC standing there.
Mammon, horrified but also strangely resigned: we're going to die here aren't we
MC, deciding there's nothing to do for it so they might as well roll with the punches, cheerful: Nope. You're going to die here. I'm going to get framed for murder and *then* killed via staged suicide
They pick up their box and move towards the house. Mammon scrambles after them.
This could have two endings.
One is they renovate everything. Bit by bit for one reason or another everyone (minus lilith) trickles back in and end up living in the house. They have family dinners with Lilith and all the in-laws (MC, Diavolo, Simeon who's technically an ex but everyone loves him so he still comes over, Solomon who's in an open relationship with Asmo, Lilith's partners, Luke because he's Simeon's kid AND everyone decided that means he's their kid too/their little brother) at least once or twice a month. They do have family and friend dinners once a month. At the family dinners Lilith's boyfriend/husband gravitates towards the other in-laws after realising how batshit crazy Lilith's family is only to then slowly realise 'no everyone's a freak here'. This ending comes slowly, it is not so much an ending as it is us no longer following their story as they continue through the ups and downs of life.
The second ending is this:
All that happens in the first ending still happens here, but there's also more to it all. And so we retrace our steps a bit;
The eight work together, sometimes joined by Lilith and the other dateables & undateables to renovate the entire house. They accidentally break through the floor and find a catacomb/labyrinth. the wind moves through it in such a way it sounds like howls of many creatures. They also find a crypt down there with an old book chained to it. Having watched Evil Dead they quickly make their way upstairs and seal up the hole.
MC's room has a whole ass tree in it and they refuse to let anyone chop it down.
Levi's has a wide stone closet built into the wall itself that they turn into a huge tank for Henry 2.0
Lucifer's deadass has a skeleton locked in a cage in it.
Mammon, immediately doing a U-turn and marching out of the room: MOTHERFUCKIN FUCK FUCK I'M OUT
MC, already follwing after him: I'll get him back don't worry
Levi, from behind the door - refusing to come inside: I-is it real?
Lucifer, already marching towards it: doesn't matter we'll be taking it down either way
In the end, they don't take it down. Mammon, Levi & Asmo refuse to touch it. Satan refuses to help Lucifer on his own room. Belphie can't be bothered to. Lucifer & MC are running around supervising and there's always something more urgent that comes up that takes it off their mind. Lilith thinks it gives the room character & forbids Beel from taking it down unless Lucifer expressly asks him to. Lucifer forgets & by the time he remembers the skeleton (now dubbed Roger) has become a fixture.
MC swears they can hear a voice calling from the attic, asking to be let out, each time they go to sleep at night - though of course no one's up there.
There's a dark reddish brown mark at the bottom of the staircase, just a little away from the front doors that none of them can get rid of no matter what they do
The house is probably haunted (or there's a gas leak no one's identified yet) but they learn to live with it, the way humans eventually learn to live with everything.
Beel goes to get a snack in the middle of the night and the fridge is always full of empty containers covered in a writing that blurs in front of his eyes. He cleans it out, closes the fridge, pats its door fondly and thanks it, taking whatever is needed to make a sandwich. He knows when he checks tomorrow that no containers will be left on the countertop and will easily dismiss it as the imaginings of a half wake, hungry mind.
No matter how much they clean out and empty the attic, someone keeps pilling blankets and pillows there until Belphie says fuck it and makes it his main napping spot
Lucifer's pens keep rearranging, Satan's bookmarks keep moving between pages, someone keeps going through Levi's stuff, Asmo's products run out faster, Mammon's room gets messy even if he cleaned it and then spent the rest of his time in MC's room, MC finds photos with the brothers they can never remember taking. Lilith's room (which she uses whenever she visits) is the only that always remains untouched.
But these things happen sporadically enough that they can just live with it and anyway all of them aren't living there (yet).
Lucifer, Levi & Asmo are the permanent residents along with Lucifer's three new dogs.
Mammon finally earns enough to buy the car he's always wanted but he doesn’t want to keep it at their apartment building so he ends up moving it to the garage in Lucifer's house, which means he & MC end up moving there (they mostly share a room at night despite having two separate rooms)
Beel wanted to move back with his family and so Belphie was pulled along.
Satan swore up and down that he was only moving here becaue of the large home library and truly nothing else.
Lilith continues to live at her own place with her partners.
The part of the first ending happens here. We once again stop following their story as they continue to live their lives.
And then we take a step. Through a door that wasn't there before, held open by a creature as old as time playing the part of a butler for a prince. We take a step over the threshold and across the universe.
To another house much like the one we left and yet - and yet - much different.
Where a family - loud and bright - lives - as they should - loudly and brightly.
Where an eldest, always working, ever busy, doesn't take care for how he arranges his pens as long as they're always on hand.
Where a second, always running, ever in a hurry, doesn't bother where his clothes land when taken off.
Where a third, serves as a general in world that has long since removed itself from the choking, tearing, searing hold of War and is now free to do with his time whatever he wills with no job to distract him from his real interests
Where a fourth who can live his entire life without needing sleep uses a bit of that time to read through books at a pace too rapid for a human to ever keep up with
Where a fifth will shed of his human skin every couple months to moisturise and groom his true body, so much larger than a human's would ever be
Where a sixth's ravenous impossible appetite empties whatever is lain in front of him
Where a seventh has made a home in what once was a cage
Where a human never stops trying to capture every moment of this new fantastical world
Where a sister's room remains closed and forever unused.
Where the pure magic in the air is strong enough that sometimes things just...bleed through the fabric of the universe

Chapter 4: Omens Girl
Unspoken Love Masterlist /chapter: 5
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
A few weeks in the Ward, you were finally able to go home after the hospital made sure that the wound from the operation on your head and also the leg had healed a little, finally you were able to go home in good condition but not before Irish told you about the treatment for you to walk . So for now you need to attend some therapy or treatment that has been scheduled by the hospital so that you can walk again. And it's not surprising if you often get migraines or are always unwell.
But, what you are most unhappy about is that you are not able to continue your surgical work. This makes you feel very useless and directionless. Your dreams and work disappear in the blink of an eye and this causes you to feel down. You begin to isolate yourself from others and just choose to be alone. And you also become a quiet and less talkative person. At first glance, people will definitely think that you are a mute. However, you chose to remain silent. There are only a few people you talk to.
Irish also tried to cheer you up, but things didn't work out. You don't seem to care about the world anymore. And every time Irish sent you to physiotherapy you just sat quietly and looked straight ahead in the car. This causes Irish to become increasingly worried about your behavior. In fact, she had to force you to eat and drink to stay healthy and hydrated.
Irish also texted Stephen about how you were doing while you were in and out of the hospital. And Stephen replied that you need space and time to think about the current situation and also to make sure that Irish takes care of you so that you don't get sick again and always makes sure that you are given the medicine that the hospital gives.
"yeah, that's it. Slow down, don't rush" Said Ain who was the nurse in charge carefully watching your steps. (This dialogue sounds sus)
Right now, you are in physiotherapy in the central part of the hospital and are undergoing an exercise routine to improve the movement of your legs so that you can walk well. Your right leg, which has recovered from the sprain, slowly steps forward carefully. Every step you take causes pain to start stabbing in the back of your body like thousands of tiny needles piercing and stabbing relentlessly and mercilessly causing you to sigh heavily trying to hold back the pain. Both of your hands tightly gripped the iron bar at your side which also helped you to stand.
(The same treatment as Rhodey in Civil War)
Cold sweat began to fall on the side of your head while your short hair that had to be cut because of the operation began to stick to your forehead causing you to become nervous to continue the task given by the nurse.
With a step on your left leg that was quite difficult to lift due to paralysis you almost reached the corner of the iron bars which was also the end of the session but, unexpectedly, your left ankle tripped and both of your hands lose their grip which caused you to fall to the left side. This causes your left leg to hit the floor hard, causing your left leg, which is still weak in muscle, to become painful and aching, and immediately after that, the pain starts to pierce your entire left side with excruciating pain.
You let out a grunt of pain as you hit the wooden floor of the room while struggling to move. The nurse who was assigned earlier quickly rushed towards you without hesitation and helped you to sit down.
"ok, I think we can end this session now. Are you ok?" asked Ain with a worried tone in her voice.
You flinched and groaned in pain. "of course no.. I just need to sit down for a while so that this pain can be relieved a little"
"Have you never been assigned to take care of a patient like me?" you asked in pain.
"You must not believe me. Because I was once assigned to take care of a patient almost the same as you. "Ain said honestly.
" who? "
"Dhani Omens" she replied. "She was paralyzed from the waist down and had to use a wheelchair to come here every week and it caused her shoulders pain from pushing her wheelchair. I don't know what caused her to be like that but I think it might be a road accident. She came here a few years ago, she was a kind and friendly young woman who was determined to come here just to improve her condition even though many doctors said it was impossible but she was determined to try her best to try to walk" Ain chuckled as her mind replayed the moment.
"Sweet girl" said you.
"She is..yes.. She always came with some treats, said she wanted to give to all the doctors and nurses who had helped her...until the day she didn't come. Many said she had died or had given up. Until one day. 2 years later, I saw her at the grocery store buying items"
"walking?" you asked confused and surprised when you heard Ain's words just now.
"yeah, while pushing the trolley. But strangely, with the diagnosis she has, it's impossible for her to recover normally. Let alone push the trolley full of things" replied Ain before getting up and extending her hand towards you to help you get up.
You reached and held Ain's hand tightly then slowly got up as you hissed in pain. "It's impossible, a paralyzed patient has never been able to recover."
"yeah, at first I was also surprised to run into her. heh, I had to do a double take to see if it was really her. But, if I think about it again, everything could be impossible" replied the short radiant white woman.
You were silent for a moment. "can i access to them? "
Ain looked at you with a confused expression. " To what? "
" file Dhani Omens. I need all the documents related to her condition while she was in the hospital. It's not much, I just want to get the certainty." you replied quickly.
"Yes, of course. But it takes a little bit longer because it's an old patient files so I need to look it up in the past patients program before giving it to you.. Only because you don't complain as much as the other patients." said Ain before giving your black walking to you.
(Walking stick and you become John Watson 2.0)
:۞:••:۞:••:۞:••:۞:••:۞:
Knock knock knock
Stephen turned his attention from the document to the door of his office.
"come in" said Stephen before returning to his work.
The office door opened from the outside and you poked your head in the office door and looked at Stephen who was busy flipping through some documents on his desk.
"umm, am I bothering you?" you said with a worried look on your face.
As soon as Stephen heard your voice, he quickly turned his gaze towards you who was still at the door of his office. Quickly, he got up from the chair and walked towards you. His work documents were left on the table.
"hey, how are you?" said Stephen as soon as he was in front of you.
"not good, as usual. I just finished therapy, so I came here just to visit you." replied you with a small smile.
"you look terrible" said Stephen after a few moments of silence.
"Sheshh, thanks"
"No, I mean not like 'that'. You look tired like you haven't had enough rest. "
" Yeah. No, shit, Stephen. Of course I'm not rest enough.." you huffed.
"let's go in." Stephen said before closing the door and walking back to his chair.
You with the help of your walking stick slowly limp towards the chair opposite Stephen's desk. Stephen who was sitting watching your movements looked at you worriedly. As soon as you got to the chair, you slowly started to sit down because you didn't want to put any pressure on your left leg. After that, you sighed heavily.
You looked at Stephen who was also looking at you causing you to make eye contact. You frowned.
" Is there something on my face? " you asked Stephen.
Stephen jerked and turned his attention elsewhere while shaking his head.
"No no.. Just your bruises and cuts on your face seem to have healed."Stephen said in a hurried tone trying to hide his embarrassment.
" yeah, It's healed.. just you know? this is the only one that won't heal" you said while gently patting your left leg with the walking stick.
Stephen frowned. But in his heart he felt guilty and sympathized with your situation. If only he operated seriously and correctly, surely you wouldn't lose your job or be able to walk well. But, it has become a scars and left a mark, what can he do?
"I'm sorry about.. you know?" said Stephen in a soft tone.
"I should be thanking you, Stephen.. Irish told me that you were the one in charge of my surgery.." you replied while tugging at the sleeves of your jacket trying to get rid of the nervousness.
"No, Y/n...you're not healed yet.. you still can't walk and you need an assistive device to walk, not to mention participate in treatment and therapy. If I do it right and really seriously during the time in the operating room, you won't end up like this. I feel guilty, you know? Because you can't walk or stand for a long time, let alone continue your work as a surgeon.. And one more thing with your head injury that will definitely cause a migraine at any time. I should do it right as soon as you're up the operating bed." Stephen said nervously as he ran both hands through his hair.
You looked at Stephen for a long time. Feelings of anxiety and guilt are clearly displayed on Stephen's face and body language. A feeling that made him think several times about what he did wrong, what he should have done. Feelings that he himself could not control.
You shook your head. "No, Stephen. It's not your fault. You only did what you could. You did whatever it took for me to live and recover-"
"-But your oxygen drops. You can die, you know?" interrupted Stephen his eyes looked right at you.
" But I'm still here. And it's not your fault that my oxygen dropped.. just you know maybe the medicine given to my body is not able to take it. But luckily everything has become stable, and I was put to sleep in the ICU and woke up a few weeks later. See, I'm fine." you said as you threw your arms to the side as if showing off your healthy self.
Stephen raised one eyebrow as if he was still unsure of your situation. Yes, for you, you are fine but for Stephen who was assigned to perform surgery on you, he is not sure about your condition. He knows that someone who has just survived an accident will definitely have a traumatic experience that will be played in their mind in addition to having scars and bruises from the accident and operations done on them. So, from Stephen's point of view, it seems that someone is not completely healthy even though they claim that they are already healthy and this makes Stephen uncomfortable to face all that.
Stephen sighed heavily and his eyes kept looking at you. You looked at Stephen for a long time. And there you can see that the staring contest begins. Without you realizing that all this time, Stephen has charming eyes and has a variety of spark colors that can bring thousands of feelings and emotions. One look at his eyes will make many people mesmerized by him. oh, how blind you have been all this time who didn't notice what he had, especially his face and eyes and his demeanor. The same man you grew up with. The same man you are with until adulthood. But unfortunately, he is already owned by someone else.
Unfortunately, the staring contest ends as soon as it's your turn to sigh heavily with your eyes closed. Thoughts a moment ago immediately disappeared from your mind like dust blown by the wind
"Well it's true for you that I'm not recovered yet with paralysis but I still have help to walk. And.. for me, I'm also sad that I can't continue my work.. But you don't have to worry about that because maybe they'll give me that job again after I finish the treatment or therapy. " you said with a tone that tries to cheer things up while turning your gaze down.
Stephen quickly shook his head. "no, no. You don't understand.. I've ruined you even more. You shouldn't be like this-"
"-No, Stephen. I'm not a broken toy that you can fix to be good again.. if I've accepted this fact you should accept it too. like it or not. Get rid of your ego. You have to accept the fact that it's been made. You can't change fate with anything. Learn to accept it." you interjected with a sharp tone, looking at Stephen's face with your sharp gaze and this caused Stephen to shut up.
Stephen was silent. Yes, what you said is true. He has to accept the fate that you will not be able to use your legs as usual. But, every time he sees you, he must feel guilty because he didn't try his best to recover you.
The two of you were silent for a few minutes before Stephen sighed heavily and looked down at his right hand to see the clock.
" I think you should go home, because I can see that you are tired. So go home and rest.." Stephen said before turning his attention to his work again trying to avoid looking at you.
You nodded and slowly got up from the chair. Your left hand holding the walking stick to supports you to get up before you can stand up balanced. Then, you walked out of Stephen's office. Without leaving any words.
•☾۞۞۞۞۞۞۞۞۞۞☽•
As soon as you arrive at your home, thanks to Irish who is willing to help you to be sent home because for her, she does not believe in any taxi you will take to go home, it is dangerous if the same thing happens again. You open the door of your house after unlocking it and take off your shoes and place them next to the door as soon as you enter the house. You look around. Yeah, you live alone in that simple modest penthouse. ( like Stephen's penthouse but simple)
Although your salary is too big as a surgeon, but you choose to live simply because for you, it makes no sense to show wealth to others. Not that it will make you happier or more fun, it just makes other people who can't afford it feel jealous because they can't afford to experience a life full of money. And again, you live alone so, you can do anything with the money you have now. And you choose to use it only when necessary, such as buying household items.
It was 7:40pm, you walked to your room to clean up. A few minutes later, you with a fresh body after the shower walked with the help of a walking stick that helped you walk towards the kitchen. The fridge was opened and you reached for the fruit salad that was deliberately chilled so that it wouldn't go stale. Then, you took the fork and walked with one hand holding the bowl of fruit salad and the other hand holding the walking stick until you reached the living room and sat on the black sofa. The left foot is put forward to rest after a long walk and standing today while your right hand reaches for the TV remote and turns on the TV. Your walking stick is propped up next to the couch.
The sound of the TV broke the silence of the living room. Your eyes are focused on the TV screen with your mouth actively chewing the fruit salad that is fed into your mouth. Finally, you can fill your stomach that night.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on your door. You who were watching TV while munching on the fruit salad were startled when the slightly noisy atmosphere was interrupted by a loud knocking sound from outside.
A bowl of fruit salad was placed next to you and you slowly got up and reached your walking stick that is propped up next to the couch. The sound of knocking knocked again. You slowly walk towards the door of the house and close your eyes to the peephole in the door. Afraid it might be robbers or strangers coming to rob you. You breathed a sigh of relief when you saw Ain outside your house.
The short woman with sweet white skin tapped her feet on the floor of your house several times with her right hand holding some files. The door of your house was opened a little wider revealing yourself wearing only a gray t-shirt and shorts.
"Hi, Y/n. Sorry to bother you tonight but I want to give you the file you asked for during therapy. That's what I came tonight. Sorry if I'm a little late, I have a shift to cover." said Ain with an apologetic smile, her hand gripped the files tightly.
You nodded. "It's okay, I don't even want to get ready for bed yet. It's early. Oh, and thank you for the files I asked for. You'll find the old files quickly." You said while nodding your head towards the file in Ain's hand.
"yeah, Jun Wei helped me find these files. He was the one who found this file in the files store. I just sent it to you." Ain said without realizing that her cheeks were red.
You noticed that Ain's cheeks were red as soon as Jun Wei's name came out of her mouth. You know that Ain likes Jun Wei since he first entered the Metropolitan Hospital a few years ago. Until now, Ain didn't have the courage to confess her feelings to Jun Wei because she was afraid that her love would be rejected. This gossip is word of mouth in the hospital so it's not surprising if you know where you can find out about Ain's little big crush.
But, we are not here to talk about Ain and Jun Wei's love story. Back to the current situation.
Quickly, Ain then handed the files to you. Her face was still red. Probably embarrassed because you must have noticed her behavior now. Without hesitation, You took the cream-colored files from Ain's hand that had been held out towards you.
"Once again, thank you very much for finding these files and send it to me. Tell Jun Wei that I thank him too." You said, nodding your thanks with a big smile while swinging the files in front of Ain's face.
Ain nodded, her red face has faded. "It's okay, Jun Wei and I volunteered to get this file. We did this work sincerely"
"Ok. If you say so, I'll go in first, ok? Be careful when you go home. If there is any problem, just call Jun Wei.. Not me. I'm busy. Also, i heard that Jun Wei also likes you. It's good if you both like each other. Better just confess. If you want to get married later, don't forget to invite me, okay? Alright! Bye bye.." you said before closing the door quickly without waiting for what Ain was going to say.
Ain with her mouth open let out a light sigh and automatically her face started turning red again. Tired of your behavior, she left the flat compound.
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
The door was quickly locked and you walked (with the help of a walking stick) towards the dining table in the back of the living room.
The received file was held tightly by you as you walked towards the dining table and immediately placed the file on the table before you began to sit on the teak chair. The almost dark sky is now decorated with a night sky full of stars while the moon is also only faintly visible.
Your living room is lit by bright ceiling lights, the curtains are wide open to reveal a large window like a wall that now shows the busy atmosphere of the city with various lights and sounds of car engines.
You reach for the cream-colored file and read the sentence written on the cover of the file.
Dhani Omens, 2012.
The name and date are on the cover of the file. Dhani Omens, a former patient that Ain told about during your last therapy. A patient who suffers from half-body paralysis and then disappears without a trace after attending therapy for a long time. Two years later, she was found at the grocery store buying things and walking as if nothing had happened to her body. A phenomenon that you yourself cannot answer, same with everyone. It is quite impossible if someone who suffers from paralysis is able to stand and walk.. this has not yet been mentioned with running.. let alone buy things at the grocery store.
Your fingers began to dig out the adhesive tape attached to the cream-colored file cover. After that, one by one the report letter was issued from the contents of the file along with some pictures. Your eyes dart from one report to another. One by one the report regarding the development of Dhani Omens was flipped several times.
Hemiplegia. Like what Ain told you before. Paralysis of half of the body and shoulder problems due to pushing the wheelchair to move around. The reason why she suffered paralysis is unknown and is not written in the file which only has a few reports regarding emergency calls from people close to the victim.
You put the report down and reached for a nearby picture. Your eyes look at the image in the picture. There are several expert doctors who are standing behind a young woman with long dark brown hair and tan skin. At first glance, the woman seemed to have just finished a therapy session. Dhani Omens. That is the real face of the mysterious patient who is still a question mark and a topic of conversation for some specialist doctors who have treated her.
July 18, 2012. The date is written at the end of the picture along with some words written on the back of the picture as soon as you turn the picture back.
'The last picture of Dhani Omens with some of the specialist doctors who treated her.'
You thought for a moment. The last picture of her was seen before she disappeared for 2 years and reappeared in good condition. And now it is still a question mark for some people.
You put the picture down and massaged the side of your head that was now starting to hurt. Migraine. The effects of a head injury that you got that has been operated on but still leaves a permanent mark. You let out a shaky breath. Trying to relieve the pain as your hand reached towards the medicine bag placed at the end of the table you were on. After that, the zipper is opened and the pill bottle is taken out. The cap of the bottle was opened by you and you shook out a red capsule pill on the palm of your hand.
Immediately, the pill was placed in your mouth and swallowed, then you drank water from the water bottle that was deliberately placed next to the chair. Your eyes closed for a moment while your face wrinkled just as you tried to swallow the bitter capsule pill down your throat.
A few seconds later, you opened your eyes and saw the state of your desk which was now littered with several paper reports and pictures. Your hand immediately reached for the report papers and the pictures and arranged it neatly and placed it back in the cream-colored file. Your brain is still thinking about the information you just read. And the answer to that question has yet to be answered and can only be unraveled by the owner of the body.
You then stood up and reached for your walking stick. You started walking towards the sofa to get the laptop that was charging on the sofa. The laptop cable was unplugged, you immediately sat down and put the laptop on your lap. Your walking stick is propped up on the sofa. The finger pressed the power button and immediately, the laptop screen turned on.
You move your index finger over the mouse on the laptop, bringing the arrow towards the Google icon at the bottom of the screen. You click the icon and immediately the tab is displayed. You stare at the screen. Thinking about what you want to find regarding Dhani Omens. The world is big, there are probably many more people with the same name and it's impossible if the person you're looking for has any social media.
But, you haven't tried, and you don't know if what you're looking for will be found or not. So, without thinking twice, you press the search button and your fingers start pressing the keys on the keyboard.
Dhani Omens. And further, you press the magnifying glass icon marked searching. The screen starts changing images after only a few seconds of loading. And, the screen is decorated with various links and searches from various platforms. You scroll the screen until what you see starts to grab your attention. A search from the Instagram platform with the user's name listed on the search. You hesitate a bit to press the search. Worry if the owner is not the person you are looking for.
But, if you think about it. There may be a possibility that this is the person you are looking for. Perhaps, maybe you need to follow your guts a little. So without wasting any time, you hit that search.
As before, the screen changes after loading for a while and now the platform that was pressed just now is displayed.
'please be the right person.. I need my job back' you thought.
the screen is decorated with the user's Instagram account. You read the bio written there.
" 'I should have been born as a bird but I took the wrong server' " you read the bio out loud. Your face changed as soon as you read that strange bio.
'Is this really the person I'm looking for?' think of you strangely.
Maybe for you this is a strange thing you've read but maybe for the owner of this account, it must have an implied meaning. Maybe. After that, you scroll the platform down. To see the posts that have been uploaded by the owner of this account in the hope that this is the person you are looking for. Several photos were uploaded to the platform, including photos of some places and captions that were 'a bit' strange.. and also some photos as if the owner was participating in self-defense training.
However, the owner's face is not visible. This makes you disappointed and lost because what you expect is not the same as what you want. You let out a short breath but your fingers still moved down to scroll the platform until it showed some old posts from the past few years.
And frankly, something has stolen your attention. Where a post shows the hallway of the hospital. For other people this may be normal, but for you this is not at all because you know the hospital corridors. This is the hospital where you work. The hospital where you participate in therapy every week. The same hospital corridor you go through to get to the therapy room.
You look at the date the post was uploaded.
18 May 2012. two months before she disappeared. You quickly scroll the platform back up and press the latest post which is a picture of a cake.
'March 17, is the day I came out of my mother's womb.. Wong bought me this cake..'
You quickly got up from your sitting position and tried to get up but immediately, you fell to the floor. You moaned in pain. Regretting you acted too hastily, you slowly reached for your walking stick and in pain began to sit up and hold onto the side of the couch to stand up. You closed your eyes trying to ease the pain. As soon as you stood up, you slowly and in pain walked towards the dining table to pick up the cream colored file.
Then, you open the file and start taking out the report paper that has the patient's biodata.
Name: Dhani Omens.
Age: 25
Date of birth: March 17,1987
Parents: deceased
'So she is 29 years old, this year. So it was her. It is true that this is her. I need to see her. But where?.' You thought.
The hand was still holding the cream-colored file before it was placed on the table again. You massaged your forehead as you thought of a way to meet her.
' I saw her at the grocery store buying items' Ain's voice suddenly played in your mind.
"ahh, even if I go, she won't be there.. after all, what Ain said was a few years ago. There's no way she'll go to that place again." you murmured, alone before walking over to the couch and sitting down.
You sighed heavily. Suddenly you reached for the laptop and clicked on the message on the account's profile.
'okay, I'll just try to message her to meet. Think of a place to meet and ask a few questions, easy. ' you make a plan in your head. Fingers start pressing the keys on the keyboard.
At the same time, you thought of a sentence to persuade her to meet you. You can't introducing yourself and asking her to meet you just like that. You don't want to be labeled as a stalker or creepy. So, you only send messages about what Ain told you. This allows the reader to feel that they can trust a little more with what you send. But, of course, be careful. Not everything we can trust.
After a few minutes thinking about the sentence to send, you hit the send button and thought for a moment. Probably waiting for a reply from her.
You sighed weakly. 'Why do I want to wait for his message? Not that he would immediately reply back quickly. It's a waste of time waiting for him to reply.'
You put the laptop aside again and reached for the TV remote on your right before pressing a few buttons to find something good to watch.
A few hours later, you, who had been sleeping, woke up when you heard a loud notification from your laptop. You, still groggy after waking up, looked around before looking at your laptop next to you. Immediately, you reached and opened the screen. The laptop screen immediately lights up. Your eyes narrowed trying to adjust the brightness.
'Meet me at Starbucks, Fifth Avenue tomorrow at 2pm with the file you mentioned earlier'
Immediately, you are fresh from sleep. You then replied 'well I'll see you tomorrow, thank you' before closing the laptop and smiling to yourself. Finally, it worked. You don't expect that this is easier than what you expect. What you expect is that he must not reply or just block you or threaten you.. maybe. But, you didn't think it was that easy. Slowly, you reached for your walking stick and then stood up before wincing in pain. Yup, you don't have to be so excited, otherwise, you can't go. So, the medicine has been swallowed, the laptop has been charged again, you immediately go into the room to get ready for bed while thinking about the plan for tomorrow.

Orthopedic Specialist in Mumbai
Key Questions to Ask Your Orthopedic Specialist in Mumbai
When you're dealing with orthopedic issues, consulting a specialist is essential for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Whether you're experiencing joint pain, recovering from a sports injury, or considering surgery, asking the right questions can ensure that you receive the best care. Here's a guide to the key questions you should ask your orthopedic specialist in Mumbai.
1. What is the cause of my pain or discomfort?
Understanding the root cause of your orthopedic issue is the first step in developing an effective treatment plan. Ask your specialist for a clear explanation of your diagnosis. Whether it’s arthritis, a sports injury, or a bone fracture, you’ll want to fully comprehend what’s happening in your body.
2. What are the treatment options available?
Orthopedic conditions can often be treated through non-surgical means such as physical therapy, medications, or lifestyle changes. However, surgery may be necessary in certain cases. Make sure to ask about all your treatment options, including the risks and benefits of each.
3. Is surgery necessary, or can my condition improve with conservative treatments?
Surgery should generally be the last resort. Ask whether non-surgical treatments like physiotherapy, pain management, or bracing can improve your condition. Knowing when surgery is truly necessary versus when non-invasive methods may be enough is vital for your decision-making process.
4. What is the recovery process like?
Each orthopedic treatment comes with its own recovery timeline and process. Whether you're undergoing surgery or non-surgical treatments, understanding the expected recovery duration, rehabilitation exercises, and any possible complications will help you prepare for what lies ahead.
5. How experienced are you with my particular condition or surgery?
Orthopedic specialists often have areas of expertise, such as joint replacement, spine issues, or sports injuries. Inquire about your doctor's experience with your specific condition or surgery to ensure you're receiving specialized care. In Mumbai, some specialists may focus more on joint replacements, while others might have a background in minimally invasive surgeries or sports injuries.
6. What are the risks and complications involved in this treatment?
Every treatment comes with risks, especially when surgery is involved. Ask your orthopedic specialist about the possible complications, side effects, and how often they occur. It's essential to weigh the risks against the benefits before making any decisions.
7. What lifestyle changes should I make to improve my condition?
Many orthopedic conditions can improve or worsen based on your lifestyle choices. Ask your specialist for advice on modifications such as exercise routines, weight management, diet, or ergonomics that could positively impact your recovery and prevent future issues.
8. How long will I be unable to work or perform daily activities?
Understanding how your treatment will impact your daily life, including your ability to work or perform household tasks, is crucial. This will allow you to plan for time off work, arrange for help at home, and adjust your expectations for the recovery period.
9. Are there alternative therapies I should consider?
In Mumbai, alternative treatments like acupuncture, yoga, and Ayurveda are sometimes considered complementary to conventional orthopedic care. Ask your specialist if any alternative therapies could benefit your condition, either as a primary treatment or in conjunction with medical procedures.
10. What costs are involved, and will my insurance cover it?
Orthopedic treatments, especially surgeries, can be costly. It’s important to discuss the overall cost, including consultation fees, surgical charges, hospital stays, and post-treatment care. Check if your insurance will cover the costs or if you need to make any additional financial arrangements.
Conclusion
Consulting an orthopedic specialist in Mumbai can be the start of your journey toward recovery, but asking the right questions ensures that you’re informed, comfortable, and confident in the treatment you receive. Whether you're looking to avoid surgery, recover from an injury, or manage a chronic condition, these questions will guide you through the process and help you make well-informed decisions about your orthopedic care.

A Comparison of Public and Private Aged Care Facilities in Perth: A Statistical Overview
Choosing between public and private aged care options in Perth can be a significant decision for families. Understanding the differences in resident satisfaction, service quality, and availability is critical for making the right choice. This article provides a statistical overview of how public and private aged care facilities in Perth compare across these key areas, helping families make informed decisions.
Resident Satisfaction in Aged Care Perth
Resident satisfaction is one of the most important indicators when evaluating aged care services. Surveys conducted by various aged care regulatory bodies show that residents in private aged care facilities generally report higher satisfaction levels. In Perth, 78% of residents in private care rate their experience as “very satisfactory,” compared to 67% in public facilities. This difference is often attributed to the broader range of services and amenities offered by private providers.
However, public aged care facilities still deliver a strong level of essential care. While they may not offer the same level of luxury as private facilities, they prioritise important health services and social programs, ensuring that residents’ basic needs are met.
Service Quality in Public vs. Private Facilities
When comparing the quality of care provided, private aged care facilities often have the advantage of offering additional services. In Perth, private facilities typically provide a wider range of healthcare services and recreational activities. For example, 85% of private aged care homes in the city offer daily physiotherapy, while only 60% of public facilities provide this service.
Another key factor is the staff-to-resident ratio. In private facilities in Perth, the average ratio is 1 staff member for every 5 residents, compared to 1 staff member for every 8 residents in public facilities. This difference allows for more individualised care in private settings.
However, recent reforms have helped public aged care facilities improve their service standards. Increased staffing and stricter regulations have contributed to better care delivery in the public system.
Availability of Aged Care Services
One of the main challenges faced by families seeking aged care in Perth is availability. Public aged care facilities generally have longer waiting lists due to the higher demand for affordable care. Government statistics show that the average wait time for a place in a public facility can range from six months to over a year, depending on the level of care required. In contrast, private facilities tend to have shorter waiting periods, but they come with higher fees, making them less accessible for some families.
As Perth's population ages, the demand for aged care services is expected to increase. Projections suggest a 30% rise in the number of people aged 65 and over by 2031, which will place even more pressure on both public and private facilities.
Cost Considerations
Cost is another significant factor that differentiates public and private aged care. Public facilities are subsidised by the government, making them a more affordable option for most families. On the other hand, private aged care can be considerably more expensive, with some high-end facilities charging over $150,000 annually.
While private facilities offer more luxurious accommodations and additional services, the higher costs can be prohibitive. The choice between public and private aged care in Perth will often come down to balancing the level of care needed with financial resources.
Conclusion
The decision between public and private aged care facilities in Perth is a personal one, influenced by several factors including resident satisfaction, service quality, availability, and cost. Private facilities generally provide more services and shorter wait times, but at a higher price. Public facilities, while more affordable, may have longer waiting lists but still provide essential care services. Families in Perth must carefully weigh these factors to select the most suitable option for their loved ones as the demand for aged care services continues to grow.

Effective communication is key to ensuring quality care. Choose an agency that maintains open lines of communication with both the patient and the family. Regular updates, transparency in care procedures, and the ability to discuss and modify care plans are indicators of a trustworthy agency.
10. Trial Period or Flexible Contracts
Finally, consider whether the agency offers a trial period or flexible contract options. A trial period allows you to evaluate the quality of care and decide if the agency is the right fit. Flexible contracts are also beneficial if your needs may change over time, allowing you to adjust the services without being locked into a long-term commitment.
Conclusion
Choosing the best Nursing agency sydney requires careful consideration of various factors, from accreditation and staff qualifications to the range of services offered and the agency’s reputation. By taking the time to research and evaluate your options, you can find a nursing agency that provides the high-quality, personalized care that meets your needs and enhances your quality of life.

Choosing the Best Nursing Agency in Gurgaon
Gurgaon, a bustling city known for its rapid development and modern lifestyle, also requires top-notch healthcare services. Whether you need care for an elderly family member, post-operative care, or specialized nursing for chronic conditions, choosing the right nursing agency is crucial. Here’s a guide to help you choose the best nursing agency in Gurgaon.
1. Assess Your Needs
Before you start searching for a nursing agency, it’s essential to understand the specific needs of the patient. Different agencies may specialize in various types of care, such as elderly care, post-surgical care, pediatric nursing, or chronic illness management. Identifying your needs will help narrow down your options.
2. Research and Recommendations
Begin your search by asking for recommendations from friends, family, or healthcare professionals. Online reviews and ratings can also provide insights into the reputation of various agencies. Look for agencies with consistently positive feedback and testimonials.
3. Qualifications and Experience
Ensure that the nursing agency employs qualified and experienced staff. The nurses should have relevant certifications and training to handle the specific healthcare requirements. Experience in dealing with similar cases can be a significant advantage.
4. Services Offered
Check the range of services offered by the nursing agency. The best agencies provide comprehensive care, including medical monitoring, assistance with daily activities, medication administration, and emergency support. Some agencies might also offer specialized services like physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and palliative care.
5. Customization and Flexibility
Every patient’s needs are unique, and the nursing care should be tailored accordingly. Choose an agency that offers customized care plans and is flexible in terms of service hours. Whether you need round-the-clock care or part-time assistance, the agency should be able to accommodate your requirements.
6. Transparency and Communication
Clear communication between the nursing agency, the patient, and the family is vital. The agency should be transparent about their services, pricing, and any additional charges. Regular updates and open lines of communication help in monitoring the patient’s progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
7. Licensing and Accreditation
Verify that the nursing agency is licensed and accredited by relevant healthcare authorities. Accreditation ensures that the agency adheres to high standards of care and follows the necessary protocols for patient safety and well-being.
8. Emergency Handling
Inquire about the agency’s protocol for handling emergencies. The ability to respond quickly and effectively in critical situations is essential for ensuring the patient’s safety. An agency with a robust emergency response system can provide peace of mind to both the patient and their family.
9. Cost and Insurance
Consider the cost of services and whether the agency accepts insurance. Understanding the pricing structure and potential out-of-pocket expenses is important for budgeting. Some agencies may offer packages or discounts for long-term care.
10. Personal Connection
Finally, the rapport between the patient and the nurse plays a significant role in the quality of care. A compassionate, empathetic, and patient-centric approach can make a significant difference in the patient’s recovery and overall well-being.
