Dashain
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media

Today our #Hindu Friends are celebrating Phulpati (Phool Pati) is the seventh day of Dashain, the biggest Hindu festival in Nepal, and this year, it falls on October 2. The day is marked by honoring Goddess Durga with nine types of Phulpati (petals of flowers). The day celebrates the auspicious uncovering of truth over falsehoods and divinity over terror. As per Hindu mythology, the nine plants represent the arrival of goddesses into the homes of the devotees. Hindu followers across the country decorate their homes with garlands and pray for a prosperous future under the guidance of Goddess Durga.

Dashain Festival in Nepal
How Dashain Festival is celebrated ? Why it is famous in Nepalese culture ?
Well, Our country Nepal is rich in religious and culture. So, let me tell about my country’s culture and religious. Nepal is one of the small country of Asia. It is a developing country. It is one of the beautiful country in the world where many tourist came to visit.
Here, In Nepalese culture Dashain is the biggest festival. This festival falls in the month of Ashoj (September or October) and celebrated for 15 days. It is the symbol of power(victory of the good over evil) where Goddess Durga is worshipped after killing evil demon. They celebrated Dashain with whole rituals. Just like on the day of ‘Ghatasthapana’ (first day of Dashain) people used to put seeds of maize, Paddy, barley with sand or mud in ‘Tapari’ which is called ‘Jamara’ and put that jamara in the corner of house. They spray water in that jamara for ten days. The seventh day of Dashain  is called ‘phulpati’ and Eighth day is called ‘Maha Astami’ where people cut down animals like Pork, Goats, Buffaloes, Hens etc on the name of Goddess Durga and eat the meats on the name of ‘prasad’ or ‘holy food’. This day is also called  ‘Kalratri’. And then Ninth day is ‘maha navami’ in this day people called their married children, Nephews, Cousins, etc and other relatives for get-together. And some people worship the vehicles on that day too. Now it comes On Tenth day which is called ‘Bijaya Dashami’. It is the day where people put red tika and jamara, gets more blessing from elders, family get together, eating delicious foods etc. As well bamboo swings (ping) is the most tradition in dashain. It continues for last five days after the day of Bijaya Dashami.
It is famous in Nepalese Culture Because it is celebrated in all over the Nepal. This is  Hindu Festival and all Nepalese followed to Hindu religious. In this Festival people who is far from their home town returns to family and get together. They share their happiness and sadness with their family. Therefore, Dashain is the biggest Festival of whole Nepalese.
