something about how israel is SO determined to dehumanize palestinians. even in death. it’s all so…impersonal. the violent murders happen via bomb -> house -> person, not person -> person. yknow what i mean? just casualties. not “victims,” ted bundy had victims, the great and noble and necessary war of israel versus palestine has civilian casualties (to the same level of devastation on both sides, of course, because this is not a genocide, this is a war, and we must oppose both sides of a war because war bad). the men and women and the journalists and the children and elderly and the dogs and cats are casualties. they are not given the honor of a hit taken out on them in particular, they cannot all have individual statues erected in remembrance of their victimhood because there are too fucking many and they are all in pieces smashed under concrete rubble covered in dust and ash. the house is bombed, the person is not bombed. the person just happened to be in the house. it’s not a person. it’s a casualty. there are too many to name. there are quickly becoming too many to number.
