Things slow to a standstill as the weather gets colder, burrowing underneath a blanket of frost to prepare for a deep slumber.
The theme for Lights on Park Ave Round 56 is hibernation.
Here are the prompts:
"For Now I am Winter" (Nils Frahm Rework) - Ólafur Arnalds
A painting of a faceless girl by Aleksandra Waliszewska with lyrics from "Class of 2013" by Mitski superimposed on it
Photos of a frozen forest
"Frosti" - Björk
A quote about snow covering and silencing everything from Autobiography of Red by Anne Carson
"Deer Tracks" - Richard Brautigan
Photographs of grand abandoned homes and forgotten architectural beauty by Roman Robroek
Fury tells Steve that he's been asleep for almost 70 years in Captain America: The First Avenger
Photos of abandoned apartments in Vorkuta, Russia covered in snow and ice by Arseniy Kotov
A quote from the Reno Evening Gazette December 23, 1929 issue about wanting to go back to bed on cold winter mornings
Undercover - Line Hoven
"Now i lay(with everywhere around)" - E. E. Cummings
A photo of a snowy field warmed by the winter sun
Photos of Dean Village in Edinburgh surrounded by fog on a quiet, eerie winter morning
"Lamps" - Mary Oliver
Photoset of empty, silent streets cloaked in snow
Photoset of snowy streets at night illuminated by street lamps
Round 56 will end on December 31, 11:59 PM ET (what time is that for me?).
As always, you’re free to jump in whenever you’d like during the round, a wide variety of work types is accepted, and there are no minimum work requirements. Unfinished works and works for other fandom events are allowed. You can find more information about Lights on Park Ave and the participation guidelines here.

Best of 2024 - Films
Strange year behind us, I watched move TV than ever, but visited the cinema at least once a month too (3x in January). The only thing I regret, that I haven't cried more and louder when All of us Strangers ended. Still couldn't re-watch it and since then I just can't listen Frankie's The Power of Love. I just can't.
01. All of Us Strangers - 2024 - Dir. Andrew Haigh
02. Foe - 2023 - Dir. Garth Davis - "Junior has been selected as a candidate for off-world colonization. Nothing will happen just yet, the couple are promised, but of course — to skip ahead to Terrance’s second visit, a year later — something does. Junior’s advancement to the next round means that Terrance will need to move in with them, to probe Junior like a lab rat. Also, don’t worry! While Junior is away, Hen will live with a biological replacement — a replica that has living tissue and Junior’s memories. It’s the high-tech equivalent of leaving a war wife with a photograph, Terrance explains, except that this photograph can live and breathe. All to help their marriage survive, naturally." - NY Times
03. French Exit - 2020 - Dir. Azazel Jacobs
04. The Promised Land - 2024 - Dir. Nikolaj Arcel
05. The Substance - 2024 - Dir. Coralie Fargeat
06. Strange Darling - 2024 - Dir. JT Mollner
07. Uncle Frank - 2020 - Dir. Alan Ball
08. The French Dispatch - 2021 - Dir. Wes Anderson
09. Poor Things - 2024 - Dir. Yorgos Lanthimos
10. DogMan - 2023 - Dir. Luc Besson - "It’s a lot to handle and also a bit silly, but Besson often pulls it off — thanks in no small part to a commanding performance by the chameleon-like Caleb Landry Jones (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), who manages to be touching and slightly terrifying at the same time. He carries a film that’s too offbeat to achieve the mainstream success of the Taken and Transporter franchises, which helped turn Besson’s EuropaCorp into a major international studio a few decades ago. And yet, as a sort of personal artistic statement — and one where Shakespeare crosses paths with Marlene Dietrich, and deadly hounds with drag queens — Dogman is worth a look. - The Hollywood Reporter
11. Unicorns - 2024 - Dir. Sally El Hosaini & James Krishna Floyd
12. Snack Shack - 2024 - Dir. Adam Rehmeier
13. Femme - 2024 -Dir. Sam H. Freeman& Ng Choon Ping
14. Passages - 2023 - Dir. Ira Sachs
15. My Old Ass - 2024 - Dir. Megan Park
16. Wicked Little Letters - 2024 - Dir. Thea Sharrock
17. Furiosa: A Mad max Saga - 2024 Dir. George Miller
18. Hit Man - 2023 - Dir. Richard Linklater
19. Marcel the Shell with Shoes On - 2021 - Dir. Dean Fleischer Camp
20. Beautiful Thing - 1996 - Dir. Hettie Macdonald - "At the centre of the story are shy, introverted Jamie and Ste, his neighbour on a tough London council estate. Jamie is picked on by his classmates; they seem to sense there’s something about him that means he will never quite fit in with their crowd. Ste, meanwhile, is more popular thanks to his love of sport; he is nevertheless miserable living with his brutish father and older brother, and seeks solace with Jamie and his no-nonsense but kind-hearted mother Sandra." - On: Yorkshire Magazine
21. The Holdovers - 2024 - Dir. Alexander Payne
22. The Zone of Interest - 2024 - Dir. Jonathan Glazer
23. Bonus Track - 2023 - Dir. Julia Jackman
24. Sick of Myself - 2022 - Dir. Kristoffer Borgli
25. Arthur The King - 2024 - Dir. Simon Cellan Jones
26. Suite Francaise - 2014 - Dir. Saul Dibb - "Irène Némirovsky's unfinished novel Suite Française, written shortly before her death in Auschwitz in 1942 but not published until 2004, was described by the French newspaper Le Monde as "a masterpiece… ripped from oblivion". It was as if, from beyond the grave, Némirovsky was giving a modern-day readership an intimate eyewitness account, harrowing and ironic, of the experience of the Nazi occupation for the French. She wrote about both good and bad behaviour, heroism and cowardice, in every stratum of French society." - The Independent
27. Good Grief - 2024 - Dir. Dan Levy
28. The Blue Caftan - 2022 - Dir. Maryam Touzani
29. American Fiction - 2023 - Dir. Cord Jefferson
30. Road House - 2024 - Dir. Doug Liman

Dennis Stock, James Dean 1955
'' In a way, this image of James Dean is a story about not belonging. It was 1955 and James Dean had visited the town where he had spent his youth, Fairmount, Indiana. He was staying with his relati
ves on the farm of his uncle, Marcus Winslow. The filming of ‘East of Eden’ was complete, but the film had not yet been released. This portrait of Dean shows the future icon at a transitional moment: the glamorous profile in the photo seems incongruous against the background of his boyhood Indiana farm. There is a moment when we are not quite sure where our place in the world is, though we all must undertake the search to find it. Dennis has captured this moment. Perhaps this is why this photograph was one of his favorite images of James Dean; in fact, he often said it was his best-composed photo.” – Susan Richards

When asked how we got together, we always answer: ‘Liz Taylor and James Dean.’ But we really owe it all to Richard Miller, the freelance entertainment and stills photographer, who captured the image of them relaxing on a sofa in Houston, Texas in 1955.
In truth, saying ‘Richard C. Miller’ doesn’t carry the weight and humour of saying ‘Taylor and Dean’, but it should. We have all heard the adage, ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’, and we don’t disagree – but what of the person who took it, or the people in it, what we take from it, or what happens because of it? We feel that those stories are equally as captivating, should be shared, and well… at times, they may take a thousand words to tell.
So, we thank Hollywood Authentic and our dear friend, Greg Williams, for indulging us with this opportunity in the forthcoming issues to share the stories of how some of the most iconic images were taken, pay homage to the extraordinary photographers behind them, and take you on the journey of how the love of photography changed our lives forever.
Over the course of his career, Miller took photographs of celebrities and stills on more than 70 movie sets, with his work appearing in The Saturday Evening Post, American Weekly, Colliers, Time and LIFE. He was one of the first photographers who took pictures of Norma Jean for the Blue Book Modeling Agency long before her transformation into Marilyn Monroe, and he covered the set photographs of what would be Dean’s third and final film, Giant. Which brings us to this photograph.
Miller studied to be a cinematographer and was an actor prior to establishing himself as a photographer. Dean aspired to be a film director and shared a passion for photography – among his closest friends were notable photographers Phil Stern, Dennis Stock and Roy Schatt (the latter being Dean’s photography instructor who had also given Dean his Rolleiflex). Hence why when Miller met Dean, they became fast friends who bonded over their love of Porsches, cameras and the filmmaking process, and Miller told his wife, ‘This is a guy who will be a best friend for life.’
A great image is typically generated by knowing when to click the shutter, but it also needs the right elements of composition. Between the photographer and the subject, cooperation and collaboration, magic can happen. Miller recounted that when Dean saw him about to take the photograph, he would do something to make it better; a look, a stance, a gesture, and in this case, simply grabbing the LOOK magazine featuring Taylor on the cover as Mother of the Year, while she napped beside him.
This very photograph is what brought Gary into the gallery where I worked and now hangs proudly in our home. It’s the image that we bonded over, and began our conversations on cameras, film and photography; it is what started us on the path to becoming best friends and partners for life. And come to think of it, Gary did drive over in his Porsche.

Photographs and Pictures ੈ✩‧₊˚ (Steve Jansen x Reader)
A/N: Hello everyone! This is fanfic for the band "Japan". More specifically this is a fanfic of Steve Jansen bc he's so pretty. Also, I can't find any fanfics of him so I decide to make one <3
𓆩♡𓆪= Smut
ੈ✩‧₊˚= Fluff
⋆ ★= Angst
Photography was always something you were passionate about. So when you finally got a job as a photographer for famous bands around Europe you were excited. You always wanted to explore the world of musicians and take photos of the newest bands. Music was also something you were fond of. You didn't play any instruments or sang but you still love researching bands you thought were cool.
Until one day you got a call from your manager telling you that you had an opportunity to take photos of a new-wave British band named "Japan". You never heard of them before so you were curious about what they were like. You wondered if they were nice or what their music sounded like. You accepted the offer and a week later you were flown out to the UK to take photographs. When you landed in the UK, a cab was already waiting for you. Which isn't something special knowing your company always rents cabs for employees. You got into the cab and were driven to the studio the band was told to record in. You watched out the window to see the beautiful buildings and cafes nearby. Eventually, you reached the studio. You walked out of the cab grabbing your camera equipment along the way. You walked into the building and then to the front desk.
"How can I help you love?" The lady at the desk asks. You smiled and shuffled in your bag for your papers of identification. You still were nervous because this was a band you never met or knew. Most bands you photographed for were ones you did research prior.
"Uh I'm a photographer for a magazine, I'm here to take photos of the band Japan." You said handing the desk lady your identification papers. The lady takes the papers and examines them. She then smiled and looked up.
"Okay honey, the band you'll be working with is down the hall second room to the right." She said with cheeriness in her voice as she hands back the papers to you. You grab them and quickly shoved them into your bag. You thanked her and began walking down the hall where the lady said. As you walked down the hall, you noticed the many studios that were lined up that were used by many bands famous or obscure. Then you finally reached the studio that was supposed to be the one. "Studio 7" the door label read. You inhaled and turned the door handle and walked in. As soon as you walked in, you saw your manager talking to who you assumed was the band's manager. As you walked you noticed a group of guys standing with their instruments. You assumed that was the band by the way they presented themselves. Then, your manager walks up smiling.
"Y/N so glad you could make it! So basically, all you need to do is just follow the band around and take photos of them. Also, they're aware that you're taking pictures so don't be nervous." Your manager states as you can see all the band members stare at you. You nod and walk towards the band.
"Hello everyone, I'm Y/N. Your professional photographer. I'll be just following you and taking photos for the magazine. So if you guys want, I would like an introduction of you guys." You said with politeness and kindness in your voice. Each of them smiled and nodded. One by one, they stepped and introduced themselves.
"Well certainly, I'm David Sylvian, and nice to meet you". The blonde says while shaking your hand.
"I'm Richard Barbieri, pleasure doing work with you!" The dark-haired man states while shaking your hand as well.
"Hi! I'm Rob Dean." The curly-headed man says while shaking your hand intensely. You chuckled at the way he was excited.
"Hello! I'm Mick Karn, pleasure meeting you love!" The pink-haired man states while shaking your hand. You were intrigued by his hair color since it was very vibrant and looked cool. Lastly, a raven-haired man walks up sheepishly and shakes your hand before introducing himself.
"C'mon mate, introduce yourself to the young lady!" David states while hitting his shoulder. He sighs and looks at you, you noticed he had the purest green eyes. You couldn't help but blush a little.
"My apologies, I'm Steve Jansen. Great to meet you." He states still shaking your hand. You nodded and thanked him. You smiled and took out your camera. You instructed the band to form a line and pose for the cover of the magazine.
"Yeah so, I would like you guys to pose and maybe smile a bit. This is for the cover of the magazine you guys will be featuring in." You state while holding up the camera and motioning them to the side. The band complies and formed a group-like pose. You snapped a couple photos and nodded for them to know they were in the clear. All of them rushed over to see the photos you took. All except one, Steve. He just stood there waiting for the next instructions. This struck you as odd because usually when you took photos, everyone wants to see. But you just shrugged and showed the photos to the rest.
"Steve don't you want to see the photos she took, they came out great!" Mick says while turning his head towards Steve. Who was kinda just staring off minding his own business. Steve looked at Mick and nodded. He walked up to you, and you showed him the pictures. He nodded. But, he didn't crack one smile, which is odd. You wondered if there was something wrong. So you asked.
"Is there something wrong with the pictures, you'd like to fix?" You asked Steve while looking at him. Steve still remained silent and looked at the photos longer. His eyes slightly squint. Steve then looked at you and slightly smiled.
"Sorry Y/N, if I made you feel like I didn't like the photos. These are nice photos. You are good at this." Steve said with a full smile this time. Your heartbeat suddenly raced with Steve's smile. You never fell this hard for any of the bands you photographed, in general, you never fell this hard in love with anyone. Steve was different but you couldn't describe your feelings. You barely knew him, yet he made you feel like you were on cloud 9.
"I'm getting hungry, I'm heading to the nearest cafe to grab something. You guys coming?" David states while walking slowly away from the group. All the guys accept and start walking with him. Steve looks back at you and notices you're not coming.
"Y/N, you're not coming?" Steve asks while walking closer to you. You shake your head. You had to edit the photos and send them to your manager.
"Sorry Steve, I can't. I have to edit these photos and send them in." You said while holding your camera and flipping through them. Steve frowned and took the camera from your hands.
"Hey! I was editing those!". You said shocked at the sudden action. Steve chuckled and puts your camera on a nearby table. Steve was clearly taller than you so you couldn't fight it.
"C'mon Y/N just walk with us to the cafe, you can take extra photos of us while we're in the cafe. It'll make a good edition of the magazine. See it like a behind-the-scenes of our band." Steve explains while picking up your camera again. He hands you the camera. You think for a second and then accepted. Steve smiled and grabs your hand. He drags you out of the studio and starts walking in the direction of the cafe. The guys were already ahead since you took a long time to accept the offer.
"So Y/N, what got you into photography?" Steve asks while walking. You were shocked by how social he was now. It was a few minutes ago that he didn't want to talk but now he's so cheery and social.
"Well, I've always taken my dad's camera from his office and messed with it with a couple of my friends. Then eventually, it became my hobby to take photos of anything that interest me." You explain while Steve listened while looking at you deeply.
"Huh, but why specifically photographing bands instead being a photographer for animals or nature?" Steve asked. You never really thought of that, you mostly photograph bands in different countries. They were mostly rock and punk bands in Europe. Japan was the first indie band you've worked with.
"Well, I guess it's because I've liked all kinds of music. So I combined two of my favorite things. Music and photography." You explained while looking down. Then an idea hits you, and you pull out your camera and quickly snapped a photo of Steve. Steve was shocked at the sudden photo.
"Hey! I wasn't ready! That's not going into the magazine is it?" Steve said while pointing at you. You laughed and took a look at the photo. You smiled and saved it.
"Haha, you said I can make a segment of behind-the-scenes photos of you and your band. Now I'm just working on it. Plus, you look handsome in this photo." You said while smiling. Steve looked down and his cheeks were kinda red from your comment on him being handsome. Eventually, you reached the cafe. Steve held the door for you and you walked in and saw the guys sitting at a round table. You and Steve walked to the table and sat. Steve sat across from you.
"What took you guys so long?" Richard asks. You were too busy looking at the menu to answer the question. Steve rolled his eyes jokingly and pointed at you.
"It was Y/N, I invited her but she didn't want to go so I had to convince her to go. I told her she could add a behind-the-scenes photo section of the magazine." Steve explains, causing the guys to chuckle and laugh. You rolled your eyes and continue to look at the menu. Eventually, the waiter comes up and takes everyone's order. A few minutes later, everyone received their food and started eating. You began to eat, and you look up and see Steve not eating but instead, he was looking at you smiling.
"Steve, why are you not eating aren't you hungry?" You asked while still eating. Steve smiled and looked down. You shook your head and continued eating. Then you had another idea. You picked up your camera and snapped a photo of Steve at the table. Steve rolled his eyes and started eating. You laughed at his eye roll and continued to eat. A few minutes after eating, everyone was finished with their meals. Everyone got up except you because you were busy looking at the photos you took. But, another person still remained. Steve. Steve sat at the table with you waiting for you to be done editing so he could walk with you. You finally stopped looking at the photos and got up and saw Steve waiting.
"Why did you wait for me?" You asked Steve while he smiled at you. He then chuckled. "It's because I wanted to talk to you more, it was nice talking to you on the way here," Steve said. You felt your heart race and your cheek blush. Steve wasn't a bad-looking guy and you did indeed have a crush on him. You smiled and started walking. You guys talked about your lives and Steve explained that David was actually his brother. And they started the band together. You were so interested in him. You felt like you could talk to him for hours. You and Steve eventually reached the studio, the time was 6:00 PM. Usually, around that time, you got to leave to go home. You noticed too that everyone was gone, you assumed everyone just went back home. Which left Steve and you alone in the studio.
"Looks like it's just you and me Y/N," Steve said while sitting on a chair in the studio. "Yeah seems like it." You responded back. You walked next to Steve and sat in the chair next to him. You and Steve continued to talk until 6:30.
"Have you ever fallen in love, Steve?" You asked not really thinking of the question you asked. Steve blushed and looked down. He cleared his voiced and answered. "Well I don't know, I see women who I think are absolutely stunning but I'm not sure if I will call it love. I usually know it's love when I talk to them and know them." Steve explains still blushing. "Yeah, have you ever met a woman that made you feel like that?" You asked Steve still not thinking. Steve blushed harder. "Yeah, I have. She was so unique I never met anyone like her." Steve says while looking at you. "What was her name?" You asked while slightly blushing. "Y/N" Steve said with full confidence. Your face turns red and you felt your heart race faster than before. Steve smiled and gently grabs your hand and softly caresses it. You looked down trying to hide your redness from him. Steve then gently grabs your chin and pulls you in for a kiss. Your lips met with Steve's. The kiss was soft and angelic-like. The kiss deepened a little more. You two kissed for a minute until you pulled away. Your face was still red from the kiss. Steve smiled and got up.
"Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow Y/N," Steve said while winking at you. You were still stunned by the kiss. "U-uh yeah see you tomorrow at 3:00!". By the time you said that, Steve walked out. You sighed and took a minute to catch your breath. You then looked down and saw a napkin where Steve was sitting. You grabbed it and opened it. The note read "xxx-xxx-xxxx call me love <3". It was Steve's number, you put the note in your bag and walked out of the studio and then outside of the building. You called a cab and rode in the backseat thinking of Steve and his note. You thought to yourself.
"Being a photographer has its benefits, and today my benefit was him." You said to yourself as you stared out the window to see street lights and other cars.

Tagging system
I tag each post with the politician, time period, and genre of post (photograph/newspaper/etc). I use the tag "vintage" for anything created before 2000. Almost every post is blanket tagged with “politics”. Additional tags include "campaigning", for images depicting rallies/politicians out campaigning/etc., and "campaign memorabilia", for products produced in conjunction with a campaign.
Included in this post are links to search a given tag directly. While you could just search a subject, this post condenses (almost) every tag I’ve ever used into one post that is, hopefully, easily accessible.
Everything I post was found elsewhere, with the exception of posts tagged “my scans”. Posts under this tag include magazines, photographs, etc., that I have scanned and cropped myself, using (my school’s) scanner.
Internet-specific tags: old web, Internet Archive, Geocities (all of these are usually tagged in conjunction with "1990s" or "2000s", never by themselves.) The "Internet Archive" and "Geocities" tags exist to represent where I found an older image or gif; all posts found on Geocities will also be tagged with "Internet Archive", but not vice/versa. Additionally, “PNG” is used for transparent images, “gif” for moving images (aside from Geocities graphics, all gifs are made myself); “video” for moving images with audio.
Time period tags (some may have only been used once): 1910s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s.
Frontrunner candidate tags (some have only been used once; candidate not included if I don't have a tag for them):
1932: Franklin Delano Roosevelt / Franklin D. Roosevelt / FDR, Herbert Hoover
1944: Thomas Dewey
1948: Harry Truman
1952: Dwight D. Eisenhower, Adlai Stevenson
1960: John F. Kennedy / JFK, Richard Nixon
1964: Lyndon B. Johnson / LBJ, Barry Goldwater
1968: Richard Nixon & Spiro Agnew, Hubert Humphrey & Ed Muskie, George Wallace
1972: George McGovern & Sargent Shriver
1976: Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford
1980: Ronald Reagan, John Anderson
1984: Walter Mondale / Fritz Mondale & Geraldine Ferraro
1988: George H. W. Bush & Dan Quayle, Michael Dukakis
1992: Bill Clinton, Ross Perot
1996: Bob Dole
2000: Al Gore, George W. Bush & Dick Cheney, Ralph Nader
2004: John Kerry & John Edwards
2008: John McCain
2012: Mitt Romney
Non-frontrunner Republican tags: Douglas MacArthur, Nelson Rockefeller, Henry Cabot Lodge, George Romney, John Connally, Al Haig, Donald Rumsfeld, Pat Buchanan
Other Republican tags: J. Edgar Hoover, Henry Kissinger, William Rogers, John Mitchell, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, William F. Buckley, Joe McCarthy, James Baker
Non-frontrunner Democrat tags: Robert F. Kennedy / RFK, John Lindsay, Ted Kennedy, Gary Hart, Jesse Jackson, Joe Biden, Howard Dean
Inanimate subject tags: photograph, political cartoon, magazine (MAD Magazine, LIFE Magazine), newspaper, political pin.
Event tags: WWII, Vietnam war, Watergate, Iran-Contra, Desert Storm (Gulf War), 9/11.
This is to be updated, if I think of anything else.

NOTE: This has been sitting in my drafts since literally late 2018, roughly 2 months after this video was posted on YouTube. I decided to finally post it... 5 years later. 👀
Harry = Chandler
Ron Weasley = Ross Geller
Hermione = Rachel
Neville = Joey
Ginny Weasley = Monica Geller
Luna = Phoebe
Ron = Ross and Ginny = Monica because they are siblings. You literally cannot have them in any other role because they are siblings. That's why I have their full names listed for just those two.
Harry = Chandler. Both are sarcastic and have a dark sense of humor. Both are insecure towards their main love interest and soulmate, Ginny = Monica. [In Book 6, Harry feels that the only way Dean/Ginny will break up is if he takes Felix Felicis. Even after Dean/Ginny break up, Harry still feels insecure because other guys ask Ginny out, and he wants to take Felix Felicis again to put the odds in his favor.] Both also get very jealous when another guy shows interest in, or dates, Ginny = Monica (Dean, Viktor; Nurse Dan, Richard, Don). Both are also Amazon Chasers towards Ginny = Monica. Both also fear how Ron = Ross will react to them falling in love with and dating Ginny = Monica. Both also have been best friends with Ron = Ross since the day they first met, and were roommates all throughout their years at school (Hogwarts; college).
Ron = Ross. Both get very jealous when other guys show interest in, or date, their main love interest, Hermione = Rachel (Viktor, Cormac; Paolo, Mark, Joshua, Gavin, Joey). Both also have a long-standing Will They Or Won't They relationship with Hermione = Rachel that lasts for literally the entire series. Both are also very happy that their best friend, Harry = Chandler, is dating their younger sister, Ginny = Monica, and become brothers-in-law by the end of the series. Ron is initially quiet after Harry/Ginny publicly share their first kiss, but after a moment, he gives them his blessing; Ross is initially angry to learn about Chandler/Monica, partially due to his life issues and taking medication for his rage, but after learning that they are sincerely in love, he gives them his blessing.
Hermione = Rachel. Both get very jealous, to the point of being petty and scornful about it, when their main love interest, Ron = Ross, dates or is interested in other girls (Fleur, Lavender; Julie, Bonnie, Cheryl, Emily, Jill, Katie). Both are also not very interested in playing sports compared to Ginny = Monica, who is their closest female friend. Both are also happy to ship Harry/Ginny = Chandler/Monica.
Neville = Joey. Academically, both are the worst of the sextet (Neville because, up until the sixth book, he kept using his father's wand and not his own true wand; Joey because he didn't care about school and focused more on having sex). Despite that, both show immense talent in one area (Herbology for Neville; cooking spaghetti sauce and baking cookies for Joey). Both are sensitive underneath the surface. Both are fiercely loyal to their friends.
Ginny = Monica. Both have three serious relationships total, where the first two lasted about roughly a year each (Michael, Dean; Richard, Pete), and then they marry their third and final boyfriend, who is their soulmate (Harry; Chandler). Both were also initially shy towards Harry = Chandler in their first official meeting. Both also get jealous, but not to the point of being petty or scornful about it, when other girls show interest in Harry = Chandler (Gabrielle, Cho; Wendy). Both are also Violently Protective Girlfriends towards Harry = Chandler (Ginny defends Harry from Malfoy in Book 2 and then Blaise/Cormac/Dean/Seamus/Hermione in Book 6; Monica defends Chandler from Janine in Season 6 and then their wedding photographer in Season 7). Both are also tomboys, hot-tempered, and enjoy playing sports.
Luna = Phoebe. Both are Cloudcuckoolanders who occasionally make their friends feel uncomfortable due to their antics and beliefs. Nuff said.
