Boudoir photo studio Brisbane | alessiopettiphotography.com
How to prepare for a boudoir experience? Follow these simple tips!
1 – CREATE YOUR MOOD-BOARD
Create a Pinterest board featuring images that inspire and appeal to you, allowing you to identify your preferred images for your boudoir photography session.
This will also provide guidance to your boudoir photographer about your comfort level. Review your board once you have collected all the images you enjoy.
What is the general style?
Is it primarily black and white, or does it have a dark and moody feel?
Is the setting indoor or outdoor?
2 – EXPLORE THE INTERNET!
Explore Instagram by searching for the hashtag #yourcityboudoir, for example, #melbourneboudoir or #boudoirmelbourne or #melbourneboudoirphotographer, to find boudoir photographers in your area and get an idea of their style.
Take time to examine their profiles, including their feeds and stories.
Do you feel a connection with them?
Keep in mind that you will be vulnerable during the session, so it’s important to feel at ease with your photographer.
Once you’ve identified a style that you admire, review the local boudoir photographers to determine which one matches your preferred style the most.
This will help you select the photographer you feel the most comfortable with.
3 – CHECK PRICES AND PORTFOLIO
Once you have found your ideal photographer, visit their website to review their pricing and packages.
Are you happy with their rates and the services they provide?
If so, reach out to them and schedule a phone consultation. This will allow you to have a conversation with them and discuss your desires and expectations for your boudoir experience in a more convenient manner.
4 – PREPARE YOUR OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES
Congratulations, now that you’ve booked your session, it’s time for the fun part – selecting your outfits and props!
Your Pinterest board can be a great source of inspiration for this.
Would you like to wear a one-piece or a two-piece outfit?
Do you want to add stockings and heels?
Or perhaps you have some props you would like to bring along?
It’s also perfectly fine if you’re considering a nude shoot.
However, keep in mind that you may need to try on lingerie in-store to determine what you truly like. It’s essential to feel comfortable in your clothing, as this will translate to your confidence in front of the camera.
I recommend shopping in-store over online shopping so you can try on your outfits and ensure they fit well and feel comfortable. If you choose to wear heels, make sure they are clean and in good condition. The bottoms should be clean, and the heel should not be worn out.
5 – PREPPING YOUR SKIN
Next up, let’s talk about prepping your skin for your boudoir session.
If you plan on using fake tan, it’s essential to exfoliate not just before the application but also during the week leading up to it.
This will help ensure your skin is healthy and smooth, allowing for a better application. Similarly, good skin prep is crucial for achieving flawless makeup.
6 – NAILS
Moving on to your nails, while there’s no need to have them professionally done, it’s important to keep them clean and neatly trimmed.
Chipped polish can be distracting in photos, but if you’re not comfortable with painted nails, that’s totally okay!
The most important thing is to stay true to yourself.
6 – PROPS AND OUTFITS
On the day of your shoot, make sure to pack all the outfits, props, and other items you plan on bringing along.
Don’t forget a water bottle and something comfortable to wear while getting your hair and makeup done.
Remember to arrive with clean skin and hair to make your hair and makeup artist’s job easier.
Also, avoid wearing tight clothing or hair ties before your shoot, as these can leave unsightly lines on your skin.

Each OC/self-insert has a very special place in my heart, especially my newest one - Jadie, for she is inspired by my old dog, Maddie (1996-2004) a sweet English Cocker Spaniel who was and always will be, a important member of my family when I was growing up - making Jadie extra special~🫶 If y'all wanna know more about Jadie, I brought her to life in Picrew but fleshed her out with her own BIO when I got more into Bluey, all thanks to my dear buddy, CJ on tumblr. Such a wholesomely super cute show which really tugs at your heart strings and makes you laugh, including me~💙🧡
Jadie | Female | English Cocker Spaniel
Occupation: Sweet Shop Owner
BIO: Was an exchange student at Chilli's school for a year, where she befriended her until she unfortunately had to leave and go back home to England. Although she still kept in contact with Chilli as pen pals over the years.
But when she grew up to the age she is now, Jadie finally got the opportunity to officially move back to Brisbane, Australia and (unbeknownst to her) find a house in Chilli’s neighborhood, and also set up shop as a new sweet shop owner. Although she still has no idea of the lay of the land yet, up until she spotted by the Heelers and a wholesome reunion took place~
Jadie enjoys playing along with Bluey and Bingo’s games whenever she visits or the Heelers visit her. She likes to make a positive out of a negative, and usually has an answer for the kids’ curious (and sometimes cheeky) questions. And whenever she gets bashful or very embarrassed, she hides her face behind her long wavy ears. I saw a lot of adorable and dashing characters (Bandit becoming a comfort character for me) in the series, but one who stood out the most and I took a strong liking to, was Busker - voiced by Joff Bush, the man behind the show's music. He has real charm, and I adore his voice and personality, his character over all - I thought he'd be make great match with Blueysona~🧡🐶🤎💘💚🐶🤍 Very much so that I was inspired to draw Busker and Jadie on their future wedding day, thanks to Bandit's older bro, Radley and his beloved Frisky getting married, along with Bandit and Chilli's own lovely wedding photo~😊But the main inspiration was the beautiful 'Happy Marriage Song' from the Sailor Moon Cosmos Movie~🥰 I even drew Jadie and Busker's future children - two lovely twin girls called Maddie and Bonnie, in tribute to my two former pet dogs IRL, Maddie (as mentioned above, 1996-2004) and Bonnie (2007-2023) Dearly missed but always loved~💕🙏 Hope you all like, peeps!👍💞🫂 I am super chuffed of how all of this turned out and stay tuned for more Coossy cuteness, coming soon!💗😍
*~Reblogs are also deeply appreciated as well, so please do reblog as well as like! Thank-you kindly!~*

DISTURBED Shares Video Of 'Don't Tell Me' Performance With HALESTORM's LZZY HALE In Brisbane, Australia
DISTURBED has shared video of the March 24 performance of the "Divisive" album track "Don't Tell Me", featuring a guest appearance by HALESTORM's Lzzy Hale, at Knotfest Australia in Brisbane, Australia. Check out the clip below.
DISTURBED played "Don't Tell Me" with Lzzy for the first time three days earlier at Knotfest Australia in Melbourne. A short time later, DISTURBED singer David Draiman shared a couple of backstage and onstage photos of him with Lzzy and he included the following message: "Thanks so much to @officiallzzyhale of @halestormrocks for absolutely nailing @annwilson 's part in #donttellme last night at @knotfestau".
In January, DISTURBED released the Matt Mahurin-directed music video for "Don't Tell Me". The song, an epic emotionally charged duet with HEART's Ann Wilson, marked the first time the band had included a guest feature on an LP.
Regarding how the collaboration with Wilson came about, DISTURBED drummer Mike Wengren told Terrie Carr of WDHA-FM 105.5 FM: "That was always supposed to be the 'power ballad,' per se. And as we were tracking it in the studio, David just threw out the idea, 'Hey, let's do a duet on this song.' We've tossed around the idea before, but there wasn't ever either the right material or the right time. So in this particular case, we kind of said, 'Well, who you've got in mind?' And he didn't even have a list; he just had one person, and that was Ann. It was a no-brainer. 'Hey, let's hit up Ann. Let's see if she'd be into it.' And she was on board right away; we didn't have to convince her."
Mike continued: "[David and Ann] sort of struck up a bit of a friendship, a little bit of a rapport. When [DISTURBED cover version of] 'The Sound Of Silence' came out years back and had its success, she was one of many artists and celebrities that took it up themselves to go on Twitter and praise the song and praise our version of it, which we couldn't have been more honored. Iconic, legendary Ann Wilson thinks that we did a great job with a SIMON & GARFUNKEL cover. That's pretty incredible, a pretty great honor. So when we reached out to her, she was more than willing to jump on board. And she came in and she killed it… And she's super cool and down to earth too, and just incredibly talented. It's such an honor to have her be on our record. And to me, the blending of her voice and David's voice, they really, really work so well together. I'm so proud of David and just so honored to have her a part of our record."
In September 2022, DISTURBED guitarist Dan Donegan, whose divorce inspired "Don't Tell Me", told Meltdown of Detroit's WRIF radio station about the band's collaboration with Wilson: "Early in our career, we wanted to really establish ourselves without having any guests. We didn't really talk about it much, but just [felt], 'This is the band.' Not that we were ever against it, but this far along in our career… We're always pushing ourselves, trying to do stuff that's different musically. And there's so much talent out there and so many people we would love to do collaborations with now or later in our career.
"Ann Wilson had mentioned before — she tweeted about us before," he continued. "A few years back, somebody asked her in an interview or whatever if there's anything new out there, or newer, musically that she's heard that she's fan of, and she mentioned she really loved our version of 'The Sound Of Silence'. And that kind of opened the door to a social media friendship between her and David a bit. And then when we wrote this song, it just seemed like it would lend itself to Ann's voice and then trying to see that merge between her and David's voices together. She jumped on the opportunity. Immediately she responded, and we were, like, 'Holy shit. She just said yes to this.'"
Asked by Meltdown if "Don't Tell Me" is a more mellow track than the standard DISTURBED fare, Dan said: "I can't give it away, but their voices, it's like Fergie and Jesus — a little 'Step Brothers' [2008 movie] quote there… It was a pretty magical moment to be in the room and to hear the two of them harmonize together.
"We tracked David's vocals in Nashville, and we wanted to make it easy and convenient for her, 'cause we were, like, she said yes, she's gonna do it," Donegan continued. "Let's make it as easy as possible on her.' We flew out to California to meet with her. We went into a studio out there for just a couple of hours, and she sang against David's tracks. And he was there kind of going over the harmonies with her and stuff too. So it was kind of a really magical moment to see the two of them working on those harmonies together. It was pretty impressive. And she's such a pro, and she's so damn good. She's a legend. So it was pretty exciting. And it's not like she sits there and jumps on people's albums either, so we take that as a badge of honor to think that there's not many times where somebody as big a legend as she is that she would jump on any album. She doesn't have to, and she chose to be on this one. And she loves the track. And it just came together great."
Released in November 2022, "Divisive" was recorded earlier that year with producer Drew Fulk (MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, LIL PEEP, HIGHLY SUSPECT) in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to Billboard, "Divisive" sold 26,000 equivalent album units in its first week of release, with 22,000 units via album sales.
On the all-format Billboard 200 chart, "Divisive" debuted at No. 13.
DISTURBED has had five No. 1s on the all-genre chart, beginning with "Believe" in 2002.

FINAL IDEA - COLLABORATIVE ARTS PRECINCT
Sip and Paint & Collaborative Art Wall
There has been a common theme with restructuring urban waterfronts, where either the area is developed into a non-place, or it creates a social elite cultural area (Kostopoulou, 2013). Meaning either no one is using the space, or one social group is. Thus, there needs to be a combination of both sides, which includes the existing qualities of the area - infrastructure, nature, historical, and cultural - to be integrated with the innovation of social and economic change (Kostopoulou, 2013). The North Shore Sip and Paint classes have various genres and materials that are inviting for any social group. Additionally, the collaborative art wall constantly provides an area for artists to promote their art. There will always be artists who want to publicise their talent. Thus, the space is constantly being used, and can easily adapt to ever-changing trends.
Will be held here:
(Randolph, E., A. (2016). Young People Painting at an Outdoor Art Class [Photograph]. Dreamstime. https://www.dreamstime.com/editorial-stock-photo-young-people-painting-outdoor-art-class-americana-park-avenue-rutherford-nj-usa-local-business-holds-park-image74212273)
There will be food trucks to purchase dinner, which will be on the dock:
(Shorty’s Food Truck. (n.d.). Home. https://shortysfoodtruck.com.au/)
Tables and chairs set up in the hangar:
There can be a collaboration with Brisbane’s local artists, and have a different artist each night. Every artist has their own style, so people would have the option to paint all genres and with all materials.
For example, looking at some of Brisbane’s most famous artists, Paul Franklin is known for his colour and texture predominately through abstract and pop-themed work (Wye, 2021):
(Franklin, P. (n.d.). Ice Gold 120cm x 150cm White Blue Gold Textured Abstract Painting [Painting]. Franklin Art Studio, Brisbane, Qld, Australia. https://www.franklinartstudio.com.au/collections/brand-new-paintings-for-sale-online/products/ice-gold-120cm-x-150cm-white-blue-gold-textured-abstract-painting)
Another example is Erin Nicholls, who does oil paintings of landscapes primarily (Wye, 2021). Classes could be something simple as it would be a 2-3 hour session, and similar to:
(Nicholls, E. (2023). Neon [Oil Painting]. Erin Nicholls, Brisbane, Qld, Australia. https://www.erinnicholls.com/other-artworks-2)
A good incorporation could be sidewalk chalk art, and the cement space by the hangar could be utilised in those sessions:
(Roskopp, J. (2020). How one family’s sidewalk chalk art brings joy to neighbors during quarantine. Click on Detroit. https://www.clickondetroit.com/features/2020/07/03/how-one-familys-sidewalk-chalk-art-brings-joy-to-neighbors-during-quarantine/)
There would be and inclusion of 1 session a week on Aboriginal paintings, and have an Aboriginal take the class. It would also be a great opportunity for the class to learn about the culture and history. Additionally, this enhances the site and experience for visitors as it utilises the unique, historical, and cultural aspect of the space (Kostopoulou, 2013).
To book a session, you can do so online and the layout would be a month-view calendar with the images of the painting they would be doing in that session on that day with the artist and time:
I considered adding the skill level - e.g. beginner - but I didn’t want that to deter people from participating. Such as, marking a session as ‘expert’ may discourage the beginners to come.
There will be a wall built where artists can rent the space and paint their art on their section. There will be a dedicated section for up and coming Aboriginal artists also. It would be built down the middle of this path:
I thought to put it on the left side, but then that only showcases one side of the wall. So I thought to put down the middle so more artists can show their work.
There could also be a collaboration with art suppliers who sell their products at the end of the sessions, or at some sessions. Since the customers would be interested in art, it is a good way for these companies to be promoted. In return, they can supply materials for the sessions at discounted prices.
There can be sessions throughout the day, however in summer, late afternoon would be ideal as it is cooler and since this is outside, there is no air-conditioning. There will be shading, similar to this:
(Project Shade, (n.d.). Our Products. https://www.projectshade.com.au/our-products/)
Sessions will start at 4pm Monday-Friday and will finish between 6pm-6:30pm. Then, there is the option to purchase dinner that is from Eat Street as there will be food trucks and everyone can eat in the hangar on the provided tables and chairs. This will be dependent on whether Eat Street owns any moveable food trucks that can easily be relocated. Looking through the images of Eat Street, there are a few places that look like they’re in vans. Any sessions that finish at 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays, there will be no food trucks but there will be encouragement to go to Eat Street for dinner. There can be different food for each session, so then all stores from Eat Street are promoted and it isn’t the same people working each week. There will be sessions held on Saturdays also, considering half of the targeted age group (20-30) are full-timers and may not have days off for the weekday sessions. However, there are companies that are open 7-days and the full-timers’ weekends aren’t Saturday and Sunday. For example, Amart Furniture’s full-time workers have a Friday and Saturday off, or a Sunday and Monday off. Hence, thinking from these workers’ perspectives, they could want and appreciate a relaxing, affordable activity to do on their days off, which may not otherwise be considered as they are a more niche group than the Monday-Friday workers (Dunn, McGuirk. Winchester, 1995). The time of the Saturday sessions will vary depending on the time of year, due to the weather. There could be morning sessions in Autumn and Winter, then they can be in the afternoon in Summer and Spring. There will be no sessions on Sundays as the employees are working on casual rates, but this could be an option in the future to expand when it gains popularity.
To reign in the excitement for the 2032 Olympics, as we get closer to that there can be classes based on the Olympics. Such as painting athletes, equipment used in sports (e.g. pool, hurdles), and green and gold themed art.
I considered having sessions start at 6pm during the week. Looking from an insider’s perspective, making the sessions start at 6pm seems to be more accessible for full-timers and provides more opportunities to come to classes. However, thinking from an outsider’s perspective, it is not appealing to be driving out to North Shore - which would be a distance for some - straight after work, where they will be tired, to come to a park in the dark to paint (Dunn, McGuirk. Winchester, 1995). So, I decided against that.
There will be a wind screen attached to the hangar, so if there is a lot of wind or rain, these can be used and keep the guests comfortable and enjoy their dinner. This can also be used for the sessions if needed.
It will cost $50pp. Other Sip and Paint’s cost between $60-$70 (Fridas, 2023; Paint Juicy, 2023; Pinot & Picasso, 2023). Thus, by dropping the price attracts the audience as it is cheaper than all other classes, as well as free, easy-access parking, and it being outdoors. Even though it is cheaper, it is not too cheap that would make people question the value of the classes. Once it grows in popularity, then there can be consideration of raising the price to meet the market.
What makes North Shore’s Sip and Paint different is that it is outdoors, consequently, the business climate is what puts this concept at a competitive advantage to the pre-existing Sip and Paints (McGuirck, Winchester, Dunn, 1996). Additionally, the creative placemaking for this concept has built on the park area by adding these sessions outdoors, on the grass, in nature, and utilising the open space. Rather than, introducing infrastructure that damages the land, instead, showing respect to the land, whilst enhancing the area, increasing visitation, and accommodating to societal changes (McGuirck, Winchester, Dunn, 1996; Dunn, McGuirk. Winchester, 1995). Moreover, the majority of the locations are in West End, CBD, and Fortitude Valley. These locations have paid parking as well as difficult parking. However, Sip and Paint at North Shore has heaps of free parking, and right by where the classes are held, there will be no worry on missing out on a park also because Eat Street doesn’t start till later on those overlapping days. There is also multiple public transport options if needed. Additionally, I could not find any Sip and Paint’s that offered the purchasing of dinner. Some offered snacks - like cheese and crackers - while others are BYO. The only things staying the same are the painting sessions, and BYO alcohol and cooler.
By adding the wall for artists to rent and display their art, enriches the art-focused environment, and contributes to the creative placemaking. Galleries and museums are similar to this wall, however, I could not find anything where the artists are painting on the wall from scratch. Thus, increasing the competitive advantage over the other Sip and Paint classes - also provides inspiration and something vastly different for the class-takers to view - and galleries/museums as this amplifies the business climate (McGuirck, Winchester, Dunn, 1996). Moreover, this wall will always associate with the shifts in the local economy as it is very easily maintainable and adjustable to societal changes (Dunn, McGuirk. Winchester, 1995), similar to the Sip and Paint classes.

Canvas Prints Brisbane: Transforming Your Space with Personalized Art
In the vibrant city of Brisbane, where creativity and culture blend seamlessly with urban landscapes, canvas prints have become a popular way to enhance interiors and showcase personal style. Whether you're a professional artist, a budding photographer, or someone looking to breathe new life into your home or office, Canvas Prints Brisbane offer a unique and customizable solution for decorating your space.
What Are Canvas Prints?
Canvas prints are images printed onto canvas material, which is then stretched over a wooden frame to give it a sleek, finished look. The result is a high-quality, durable piece of art that resembles traditional paintings but with the added versatility of modern digital printing technology. Canvas prints are known for their ability to make any image—whether a family photo, a vacation snapshot, or a piece of digital artwork—look professional and artistic.
Brisbane is home to a wide range of businesses specializing in canvas printing, offering services that allow customers to create personalized prints tailored to their tastes. From small boutique studios to larger printing companies, the options are diverse, ensuring that no matter your style or budget, you can find the perfect canvas print for your needs.
Why Choose Canvas Prints?
Customization and Personalization: One of the greatest advantages of canvas prints is their ability to be completely personalized. You can turn any image into a work of art, whether it's a family portrait, a beloved pet, or an abstract design. This makes canvas prints an excellent gift option for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions.
Aesthetic Appeal: Canvas prints have a unique texture that adds depth and dimension to your images. The material absorbs light differently than traditional photo prints, creating a softer, more sophisticated look. This makes them ideal for a range of interior styles, from modern and minimalist to rustic and eclectic.
Durability: Unlike traditional framed prints that may fade over time, canvas prints are designed to last. The material is resistant to fading, and many prints are coated with protective finishes that shield them from moisture, dust, and UV light. This means your canvas prints will remain vibrant and beautiful for years to come.
Versatility: Canvas prints work in any room of your home or office. They can be hung in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, or hallways to create a focal point or complement your existing décor. Additionally, Brisbane’s local canvas printing services offer a wide range of sizes, ensuring you can find the perfect fit for any space, whether it's a large statement piece or a small accent.

Eight Australian houses with sculptural shapes and angular facades
Our latest roundup showcases innovative Australian homes, including a house with a fish-pond atrium and a residence with a faceted black-metal extension. Mostly located in Melbourne and Sydney, these eight homes are united by their sculptural designs. While some have unusually shaped floorplans, others use detailed facades, cantilevers, roof cutouts and geometrical aluminium awnings to create eye-catching details. Read on for eight examples of sculptural Australian houses from Dezeen's archive:
Photo by Timothy KayePeninsula House, Flinders, by Wood Marsh Designed to echo Australia's "windswept" coastline, this home south of Melbourne has curving walls of charred timber and rammed earth. Local studio Wood Marsh also drew on meandering paths leading to the site when creating the shape of the house, which has a curving form with long "arms" wrapping a swimming pool terrace and a driveway. Photo by Shannon McGrath and Timothy KayeSt Martins Lane, Melbourne, by Matt Gibson This Victorian home in the South Yarra suburb of Melbourne was given a sculptural update with a faceted extension clad in black metal. Architect Matt Gibson decorated the facade of the extension, which contains a living space, two bedrooms, a study and a cascading terrace, with a laser-cut pattern that references the original architecture of the house. Photo by Rory GardinerMossy Point home, New South Wales, by Edition Office A cutout roof animates this fibre-cement-clad home, which architecture studio Edition Office elevated on parallel blockwork walls within a woody area in Mossy Point. The aperture in the roofline, designed to resemble a bird's mouth, creates a sheltered outdoor dining space. A void at the centre of the roof lets natural light into the gabled building. Photo by Tom RossMerricks Farmhouse, Melbourne, by Michael Lumby Architecture and Nielsen Jenkins Concrete blocks were used to construct Merricks Farmhouse, a home designed as a "refuge" in an exposed coastal setting on the Mornington Peninsula. South African studio Michael Lumby Architecture and Brisbane practice Nielsen Jenkins gave the home strong geometrical shapes by splitting it into a series of blocks that surround a courtyard. Photo by David ChatfieldTallowood Cabin, Queensland, by Fouché Architects Australian studio Fouché Architects created the angular Tallowwood Cabin to cantilever over its plot on a Queensland hillside. Its top-heavy geometric form, clad in black-cement boards, balances on a concrete plinth. A sloping walkway leads into the house, which is designed to "disappear" into the surrounding bushland. Photo by Jack LovelProclamation House, Perth, by State of Kin The innovative facade of this Perth house was created by combining olive-coloured hemp render with aluminium awnings that add tactility to the exterior. It encases a sculptural concrete form with a rounded, sloping roof and is designed to exaggerate the traditional features of local cottages, architecture studio State of Kind told Dezeen. Photo by Derek SwalwellHelvetia, Melbourne, by Austin Maynard Architects One of the most unusual designs on the list, this Melbourne home has a fish-pond atrium in its entrance space and also features five distinct garden areas. At its rear, the building has a garage that Australian firm Austin Maynard Architects topped with an "urban farm". This is enclosed with a barrel-vaulted wire mesh to keep out possums. Photo by Felix ForestMatopos, Sydney, by Atelier Andy Carson Local studio Atelier Andy Carson married a curved bronze facade with a sandstone podium at this home for a gallerist in the Sydney suburb of Freshwater.
