rating h2o award show outfits!

h2o was won several awards and been nominated for quite a few. let’s take a stroll down memory lane and discuss the fashion of the time!

ok disclaimer. these are just my opinions!! you can have different ones. it’s cool.

🐬 2007 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards

It’s hip it’s fresh it’s not too serious. I like all the makeup but especially Claire’s, it’s really working with the hairstyle. the patterns are horrendous but I appreciate the color now compared to what we see down the line.

Overall it’s a 5/10

🐬 2008 AFI Awards

a very iconic award show! i love phoebe’s dress + matching jewelry. the necklace and bracelet look like pearls, so it’s on brand for the show she’s nominated for. i don’t like cariba’s dress. the cut is awkward as well as the belt, and i don’t love the shade of purple. brittney’s is ok but the handbag not matching is killing me. angus’ is… well it’s a suit! he looks good and also like every other man at an awards show. Indiana is serving that ceasar flickerman hair flawlessly.

6.8/10 the uncoordination and cariba’s dress lower this score for me

oh dear god. what is going on here?? I’ve been trying to figure it out for years. Did they not have stylists at this point? I don’t understand the gray at alllll. The weird ruffles/rouching, if you can even call it that, repulses me. hate the medieval times ass belt. The outfits are so ugly they make the hairstyles look good. And I’ve never liked the makeup either, I just feel like it doesn’t suit them at all. ALSO THE SHOES?? WHAT. I’ve just noticed phoebes chunky bracelets too..

1/10 because I struggle to find anything good to say about these looks

🐬 2009 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards

Cariba’s outfit reminds me of that twink dog from barbie in a fashion fairytale. Anyways it really missed the mark. The weird shoulders and denim shorts are not it. I feel like the bow could be cute with a dress? Idk but none of her looks hit.

Angus is casual, I feel like this outfit would do numbers on early 10s tumblr.

Jaime’s is also just too casual

4/10 just doesn’t feel like award show outfits

This would be a deeply foolish idea bc hunting down resources and just like... How to organize but I would love to do an endless gif set series of favourite sets for film/tv/animated as well as favourite outfits ever of all time not ranked but just they live forever in my mind. Just,,,,, AAAAAH those people deserve fat paychecks 🙏🙏😭✨🤌 Some things still sit in my mind years later because they're gorgeous. Like decades later girl. Changed the chemistry in my brain. The brain will block out childhood trauma but remember a design from when I was like 12. The power.

#almost every set in CW's Reign whips ass and I love them all.#some are LQ like the outdoors ones but like idk the budget they get. But they did great!!!#some are on location but I loved the French court sets they built bc they did add ceilings in and the atmosphere they accomplished!!!#the furniture and props!!!!#also I love the costuming on that show it was just All Over the Place in the most fun character design > historical accuracy type of way #each female character has A Look™ the the others didn't and it gave a perfect quick glance peek at their personality I loved it #I think about this One Specific Outfit Phoebe Tonkin wore in The Originals bc I would 100% wear it myself #and incidentally the dress was from my favourite store so like!!!!! AAAAAAAAA #also this one outfit from a shitty cancelled CW show Gal Gadot wears from literally 2009 still lives rent free in my mind. STILL!!!#Clover's room from S1-2 of Totally Spies still lives rent free in my mind it's literally the cutest thing ever I would die for it #le whiny text post #also several of Serena van der Wooden's various Blumarine dresses!!! I remember them from when I was like 14 and I am now old but #I still think about them oh my god #she really did have such a massive impact on my sense of style growing up lmfao

Welcome back!

Welcome back to this blog!

If you don’t remember about me I used to be, well, I used to be a lot of different blogs at some point in my life. I used to gif a lot about Phoebe, let’s say, and then started incorportating a bit of her style and haven’t stopped.

I moved onto Instagram but have also decided to come back here with some of Phoebe’s styling through the years to keep a bit of an archive.

PHOEBE TONKIN at the Fashion Trust US Awards on March 21st 2023 wearing PROENZA SCHOULER

Phoebe easily had one of my favorite looks of the entire event. She looked absolutely perfect and the dress was just flawless. The gold color looked amazing on her, and the design was amazing. The neckline was so pretty and it just looked amazing. There was nothing I didn’t love about this look, it was just gorgeous.
