A couple of sketches from my novella, Metalmade. I meant to post this back in February for the 2nd-year anniversary of its launch, but I got sick and didn't have the energy to finish it until now.
It's about a sentient robot that gets tasked to spy on a taho-peddler to determine if he's actually an aswang in disguise, but despite her best efforts, she gets quite befuddled by him. That conversation they're having in the 2nd pic was so much fun to write.
Actually this whole novella was so much fun to write, and I have quite a few ideas for Yaya and Digan's adventures in Sagabilang, so a possible sequel is not off the table!

Gubat Banwa is FULLY FUNDED!
In less than A DAY, we've hit our goal of $40,000! Thank you all so much! Your continued support made this massive achievement for SEA representation in TTRPGs possible. 🔥🔥
Tumblr media
Revel in glory, Kadungganan! This victory belongs to us all!
Tumblr media
The campaign will continue to run for the next 29 days. There are a few stretch goals still waiting up ahead, so if any of these catch your interest, do continue to spread the word about the project.
The Gubat Banwa Kickstarter was fully funded in 1 day! (But we've still got some neat surprises in the stretch goals...) Check them out here:
We cannot overstate how deeply we appreciate your support, it truly means the world to this small team from the Philippines. Now, let us see this campaign through to the end of the far horizons, shields abreast and blades gleaming and heads held high with pride.
Until glory!

Anyone who denies the Holocaust is a nasty bigot who erases and invalidates the suffering countless marginalized groups, but the Holocaust (very much real!!) is talked about in a propagandic manner, in that the US and its allies set the narrative in such a way that portrays them as the unambiguous heroes and objectively good.
If the Holocaust was taught honestly, it would be mentioned that the US and Canada turned away refugees including Anne Frank's family. The Allies were also all fine with marginalized people getting killed; eugenics was very popular at the time with all of them. They got involved when the Axis started encroaching on them, and not to save vulnerable populations. "Saving the Jews" was just a side effect, and unfortunately something they use to justify the ongoing Nakba, slaughtering countless Palestinians over the past century.
If the US actually respected the story of the Holocaust like it very pleadingly claims it does, it would have mentioned all this, alongside all the other genocides it and its now-allies have been involved with. (It structurally cannot do this, for it would invalidate its own existence if done in full.)
Along with being Jewish, I am also Filipino so I have another genocide under my belt that the US has involvement in. The Philippine genocide (TW for old BW photos of death, destruction, descriptions of war crimes) is rarely taught, probably because the US can't (falsely) claim to be the hero, and also because it's geographically removed.
"Kill everyone over the age of ten [and make the island] a howling wilderness" is a quote from a notoriously bloodthirsty US army officer involved with the genocide and who may have killed up to 5,000 people.
This is partially a late night stream-of-conscious post on genocide and how the US and its allies frame it, partially some longer-stewing thoughts I had been wanting to write on for a while.

Himpapawikan ~
This is a concept art I did called Himpapawikan. In a fantasy setting, I would love to see giant flying sea turtles (Pawikan). This is what inspired this design. I also designed a carriage on top inspired by Vintas (Filipino boat).

Hello, guys ! so I decided that I wanted to write a fanfic about Satoru because I miss him ;)
Here's the link if you guys wanna read it ! just a reminder, I am new to writing so I will take any criticism but please be nice o((*^▽^*))o
Anyways, this story is about a fem!readerxgojo (I'm really sorry if you want this to be a gender neutral reader but just as I said, I am new to writing and I don't know how to do some things you guys normally read (?))
Also, this story is taglish but it will be translated, dw (◕દ◕) it will also be like some type of isekai thing but isn't actually close to that 😅 it will take place on a modern day and goes back into time? Something like that ! (٥↼_↼)
That's all ! You can always ask me about this fic if there's anything you guys want to clarify :)
If you do support me with this fanfic, I truly appreciate it ! Thank you ! ♡(˃͈ દ ˂͈ ༶ )

“Violence for violence’s sake is not the rule of beasts but the nature of divinity.” Gubat Banwa is a game of rapid kinetic martial arts, violent sorcery, heartrending convictions and bouts of will. Warriors that channel gods face sorcerers that master black arts, martial artists who have unlocked a new form of cultivation clash swords with those that perfect the night alchemies. When the crocodile’s teeth are cast, convictions are unsheathed, and steel sparks: the Umalagad must declare that: “The river of life ever flows! Rejoice in the glory of combat!” and they enter violence
SWORD AND ENLIGHTENMENT. LOVE AND GLORY. VIOLENCE AND LIBERATION.
Tumblr media
Gubat Banwa is a  Southeast Asian fantasy martial arts Role-Playing Game, inspired by the refulgent cultures of Southeast Asia. Raise your spears, KADUNGGANAN, you elite warrior-braves and asura-knights who travel The Sword Isles to prove their conviction and dictate the fate of the world. Revel in larger-than-life war drama like in Asian Dramas, ballistic tactical martial arts grid gameplay in the vein of Lancer or Final Fantasy Tactics, and find glory beyond heaven. Wield the Thunderbolt of Liberation! Rejoice! In the Glory of Combat!

Included are!
A unique Southeast Asian-inspired Fantasy setting, with an emphasis on martial arts as a background for war drama and violence, from a Philippine-centric view. Garudas fight against unglu. Martial artist warriors master the Principle of Cutting by meditating upon the teachings of the Violent Bodhisattva. Rituals and superstitions must be performed or else risk the wrath of the ancestors. Vast kingdoms arise with God-Kings at their helm, claiming to be Shiva-Buddha incarnate. You and your warband stand at the center of this violent mandala!
A corresponding narrative system made to help play out war drama in this setting, along the veins of Final Fantasy Tactics, Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Malazan, Tigana, Game of Thrones, and Tactics Ogre!
Want to try out the Thundering Tactics Battle System that fuses modern narrative sensibilities with D&D4e style tactical combat and wargaming dice pools. The Turn Order is known as the Rhythm, and you don't activate a unit; you fulminate a fighter. The game heavily relies on terrain abilities and emphasizes movement, especially with it's 3-Beat System, which lets you do 3 Actions per turn (some actions might cost more than 1 Beat!)
A Discipline System inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics Jobs, Digital Devil Saga's Mantras, and Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne's Magatama. Mix and match your Techniques! Change Disciplines with a single Downtime Action! Be a Death Dancer that heals with alchemies, or a Tigpana (Spiritual Archer) that rides upon a crocodile!
A narrative system wherein describing or doing dangerous and cool things is encouraged, as that is how you get Thunderbolt Tokens, which let you dictate your fate. This same narrative system prioritizes 5 Approaches instead of Abilities, in the vein of L5R, with each approach based off of the 5 Elements of Gubat Banwa's natural philosophies and esoteric tradition.
Said narrative system comes with a baked in Honor system that interplays with Debt, which is how you get others to do things for you. And NPCs can accrue this same debt, forcing you to follow them. If your Honor ever falls below 0, you must play a new Kadungganan!
An enemy system that allows for Solo and GM-less play! Roll an Enemy's Gambit Dice to find out what actions they do when they Fulminate. Adapt and act accordingly, make for dynamic fights!
Event tables and generators for every possible thing you might encounter while journeying in the Sword Isles, to fully immerse and play in its cultures! As well as Lore to fulfill any questions you might have.
Finally, baked in is the starter adventure: The Sword Devil. So you can jumpstart your games!

Today I told someone asking about SAINTS OF STORM AND SORROW that I'd been inspired by shaman lead uprisings against the Spanish in the Philippines. My man immediately began asking me how I'd portrayed the Spanish Inquisition, I'd hit upon his special interest clearly 🙃
He was thrilled!! He gushed to me about how the Inquisition had brought order and a unified justice system to areas with many violent ruling groups. That it'd helped secure Spain against the Moors and those FAKE converts 🫣💀🫣 Had I explored the many positive impacts?? After all there were many benefits to strengthening empire and sometimes the Inquisition pardoned people!
And I said… well no. Given my story is a power fantasy about drowning colonizers…the way this man's face fell💀
I am just astonished in the year of our Lord 2023 I found someone defending the benefits of empire, forced religious conversion, and the Inquisition to my face
My book is a fantasy but I did a lot of research into how the church solidified power in the Philippines, in great part aided by the Inquisition. Without supervision isolated from their supervisory body in Mexico they acted with impunity, even against other factions within the Church
The Inquisition would go after anyone who stood in the way of the Church's power and land grabs, including colonial government officials that were too effective or too greedy, local political and spiritual leaders. Anyone who prevented the Church from being the unifying force 6/?
You can read here about the ousting and deportation of a governor of the Philippines a powerful and favored Spanish noble who quarreled with the church

Seven Blades Until Glory
Gubat Banwa launches on Kickstarter TODAY! Just a few more hours before the highly-anticipated launch of this award-winning, SEA fantasy-based, tactical martial arts TTRPG. Godsfuck, that's a lotta adjectives.
Tumblr media
I've been posting the weapons I've drawn for the game to count down the final week before the launch. These were supposed to be for Swordtember but we had to move it back a little bit.
Tumblr media
Below are links to all the individual threads, providing details on each of these individual blades, including which cultures they belong to and how they might have been (and still are) used.
The Gubat Banwa Kickstarter launches in a few hours! Check it out here:
