I find it funny that in most fics, authors forget how to write phenylethylalanine, so they use anything resembling this word and, as a matter of fact, by that, they give their symbiotes completely different chemical needs.
I mean, I guess, it's kinda okay if they use phenylethylamine /phenethylamine instead, because it, at least, looks familiar and has some similar effects, if I understood correctly?? But is still very different, nonetheless. I mean, look.
But it's kinda funny and very confusing when someone uses completely wrong word, very short even, like phenylamine or something which is, as I found out, is actually a synonym for aniline which IS pretty much toxic. So...um... Nope, I don't think it's a good idea to make Venom & Eddie seek for this thing in anyone's fiction. :")
P.S. I'm no expert, just got curious about those things, because it was bugging me for a while, so I decided to take a look.

Trinh nữ hoàng cung là dược liệu quý có nguồn gốc Ấn Độ và được sử dụng nhiều trong các bài thuốc y học cổ truyền. Nghiên cứu từ các thử nghiệm cho thấy trinh nữ hoàng cung có nhiều tác dụng sinh học như chống viêm, ức chế sự phát triển của vi khuẩn, kháng ung thư... Vậy trinh nữ hoàng cung chữa bệnh gì?
1. Tổng quan về cây trinh nữ hoàng cung
Trinh nữ hoàng cung còn được gọi là Tỏi tơi lá rộng hay Náng lá rộng. Chúng có tên khoa học là Crinum latifolium L, thuộc họ Amarylidaceae. Trinh nữ hoàng cung là loại cây ưa sáng. Vì vậy, chúng thích hợp để trồng ở những vùng có khí hậu nhiệt đới ẩm và nhiệt độ trung bình dao động trong khoảng từ 22 – 270C. Tại Việt Nam, dược liệu này được trồng chủ yếu ở các tỉnh miền Nam từ Đà Nẵng trở vào.
Dược liệu trinh nữ hoàng cung thường được sử dụng toàn cây trong y học. Công dụng và cách sử dụng các bộ phận khác nhau như sau:
Lá cây được dùng tươi hoặc sao vàng, phơi khô và dùng hãm nước uống.
Thân hoa, cán hoa và toàn bộ bông hoa được dùng làm dược liệu trong các bài thuốc y học cổ truyền.
Nghiên cứu từ các nhà khoa học cho thấy dược liệu trinh nữ hoàng cung chứa thành phần hóa học chính là alcaloid và được chia thành 2 nhóm bao gồm:
Nhóm alcaloid không chứa dị vòng: latisodin, latisolin, beladin.
Nhóm alcaloid có chứa dị vòng: crinafolidin, ambelin, crinafolin...
Phần thân rễ cây có chứa hai loại glucan như sau:
Glucan A: Phân tử có chứa 12 đơn vị glucose.
Glucan B: Phân tử có chứa 110 đơn vị glucose.
Bên cạnh đó, các nhà khoa học còn tìm thấy những thành phần axit amin có trong dược liệu này như: arginin, leucin, valin, phenylamin... Phần thân của cây có chứa các hoạt chất như lycorin, pratorimin, ambelin..
2. Tác dụng dược liệu trinh nữ hoàng cung
Kết quả các thử nghiệm về tác dụng sinh học của cây trinh nữ hoàng cung cho thấy dược liệu này có nhiều tác dụng sinh học như sau:
2.1. Tác dụng ức chế sự phát triển của khối u xơ
Hiện nay, dựa vào công dụng của trinh nữ hoàng cung trong việc ức chế sự phát triển của khối u xơ mà dược liệu này đã được ứng dụng nhiều trong điều trị u xơ cổ tử cung và u nang buồng trứng.
Bên cạnh đó, chiết xuất từ trinh nữ hoàng cung kết hợp với lá đu đủ và củ tam thất tạo nên chế phẩm panacrin có công dụng chống lại sự phát triển của tế bào ung thư.
2.2. Tác dụng kích thích hệ miễn dịch
Tác dụng của dược liệu trinh nữ hoàng cung đối với hệ miễn dịch được các nhà khoa học chứng minh bằng thử nghiệm trên chuột trắng. Chuột trắng được gây khối u rồi cho uống nước chiết từ cây trinh nữ hoàng cung, kết quả cho thấy tế bào lympho T trong máu chuột tăng trưởng nhanh hơn, giúp cơ thể chống lại các tế bào ung thư.
2.3. Tác dụng ức chế tế bào ung thư tiền liệt tuyến
Tác dụng của trinh nữ hoàng cung lên tế bào ung thư tuyến tiền liệt được các nhà khoa học nghiên cứu thử nghiệm trên khối u xơ tiền liệt BHP – 1, PC3 và LNCP. Dịch chiết dược liệu được sử dụng trên các khối u này, kết quả cho thấy các khối u bị ức chế tăng sinh tế bào và tỉ lệ ức chế tăng sinh cao nhất trên u xơ BHP – 1.

2.4. Tác dụng bảo vệ tế bào thần kinh
Nghiên cứu được thực hiện trên chuột bị tiêm chất trymethyltin – loại chất gây độc hại cho hệ thần kinh trung ương. Chuột sau đó được điều trị bằng dịch chiết trinh nữ hoàng cung, kết quả cho thấy dược liệu này có tác dụng bảo vệ tế bào thần kinh ở mức độ trung bình.
2.5. Tác dụng chống oxy hóa
Nghiên cứu từ các thử nghiệm lâm sàng cho thấy dịch chiết dược liệu trinh nữ hoàng cung có chỉ số đo lường khả năng chống oxy hóa ORAC là 1610 ± 150 μmol TE/g. Kết quả cho thấy, dược liệu này có tác dụng chống oxy hóa.
3. Công dụng của trinh nữ hoàng cung trong điều trị
Dựa vào tác dụng của trinh nữ hoàng cung đã được các nhà khoa học chứng minh, dược liệu này được ứng dụng vào điều trị nhiều căn bệnh. Hiện nay không chỉ trong y học cổ truyền mà y học hiện đại cũng sử dụng loại thảo dược này trong các đơn thuốc điều trị bệnh. Một số căn bệnh có thể điều trị hiệu quả bằng dược liệu trinh nữ hoàng cung như sau:
3.1. Bài thuốc điều trị viêm phụ khoa
Cây trinh nữ hoàng cung được sử dụng trong điều trị các bệnh như chảy máu âm đạo, rong kinh, rối loạn kinh nguyệt, chậm kinh... Bạn có thể sử dụng một trong các bài thuốc sau:
Bài thuốc 1: Công thức gồm lá trinh nữ hoàng cung, rễ cỏ xước, hạ khô thảo, hương tư tử, mỗi vị 20g đem sắc với 1 lít nước đến khi cạn còn một nửa nước. Nước sắc được chia uống 3 lần trong ngày và không được để qua đêm.
Bài thuốc 2: Công thức gồm 20g mỗi vị thuốc là trinh nữ hoàng cung, dừa dại, lá sen, ngải cứu tươi, ích mẫu và hương tử. Sắc hỗn hợp với khoảng 1 lít nước đến khi cạn còn một nửa. Nước sắc được chia uống 3 lần trong ngày và không được để qua đêm.
3.2. Bài thuốc điều trị u xơ tiền liệt tuyến
Công dụng của trinh nữ hoàng cung trong điều trị ung thư tiền liệt tuyến được ứng dụng phổ biến nhất hiện nay. Các bài thuốc điều trị căn bệnh này như sau:
Bài thuốc 1: Công thức gồm 20g trinh nữ hoàng cung khô, 6g hương tư tử và 12g xa tiền tử. Tất cả cho vào nồi, thêm hai bát con nước và sắc cạn còn khoảng 1 bát thì dừng. Nước sắc được chia uống 2 – 3 lần trong ngày sau bữa ăn.
Bài thuốc 2: Bạn dùng khoảng 20g trinh nữ hoàng cung khô đem rửa sạch. Cho dược liệu vào nồi, thêm khoảng 2 bát nước con. Sắc hỗn hợp bằng lửa nhỏ đến cạn còn một nửa thì dừng. Nước sắc được chia uống thành 3 lần trong ngày sau bữa ăn.
3.3. Bài thuốc điều trị ung thư vú
Dược liệu trinh nữ hoàng cung được sử dụng hiệu quả trong điều trị ung thư vú. Bài thuốc điều trị căn bệnh này được thực hiện bằng cách dùng 200g lá trinh nữ hoàng cung đã được phơi khô, sắc dược liệu bằng nồi đất với hai bát nước con đến khi cạn còn khoảng nửa bát thì dừng. Nước sắc được chia thành 3 lần uống trong ngày sau bữa ăn.
3.4. Bài thuốc điều trị ho, viêm phế quản
Tác dụng của trinh nữ hoàng cung trong điều trị bệnh ho và viêm phế quản được thực hiện qua các bài thuốc sau:
Bài thuốc 1: Công thức là sắc với 600ml nước hỗn hợp gồm 20g lá trinh nữ hoàng cung, tang bạch bì, ô phiến và cam thảo dây. Sắc hỗn hợp đến khi cạn còn khoảng 200 ml thì dừng, nước sắc được chia thành 3 lần uống trong ngày uống sau bữa ăn.
Bài thuốc 2: Công thức là dùng 20g mỗi vị thuốc bao gồm lá trinh nữ hoàng cung, lá bồng bồng, hương tử, táo chua. Sắc hỗn hợp với 600ml nước bằng nồi đất, sắc đến khi còn khoảng 200ml nước thì dừng. Nước sắc được chia thành 3 lần uống trong ngày sau bữa ăn.
3.5. Bài thuốc điều trị bệnh dạ dày, tá tràng
Lá cây trinh nữ hoàng cung tươi được dùng trong điều trị bệnh dạ dày, tá tràng. Bài thuốc điều trị căn bệnh này được thực hiện bằng cách dùng lá cây tươi rửa sạch, cắt thành khúc nhỏ và cho vào nồi, thêm hai bát con nước sạch. Sắc hỗn hợp đến khi đặc còn khoảng nửa bát thì dừng. Nước sắc được chia thành 3 lần uống trong ngày sau bữa ăn.
3.6. Bài thuốc giảm đau nhức xương
