Hi Jo!So I'm super excited for the next ep, I'm hoping that it'll fix all of the mistakes that were made in 2x07. until that, let me sneak in a random question into your ask box: do you think malec call each other nicknames/pet names?

Hi Nitsa! Same here, I’m excited and I hope my internet here is strong enough to sustain my livestream~

I mean, we all know Magnus uses pet names with like, everybody. Biscuit here, darling there, sweetheart over at the back. So Alec isn’t surprised when he’s fumbling around the kitchen and Magnus shows up, one hand combing through bed hair and another muffling a yawn and mumbles out “what’s cooking, pumpkin?” As much as Alec thinks that’s endearing, he hates that he has to suppress the idea that he has used the nickname on one too many lovers. So the next time they’re kissing in bed; hands under each other’s shirts, long legs tangled in an organised mess and Alec slides his fingers along Magnus’ ribcage just right, tearing a breathless “Alexander” out of him, Alec steels himself. 

“I love it when you call me that,” Alec pauses, a few seconds longer, betraying the casual tone of his voice. And Magnus is astute, even when he’s seconds away from dragging Alec down towards him because his lips are not where they should be, and he drags out, voice thick as honey, “Of course, my Alexander”, with a steady gaze. And Alec knows that Magnus gets it, and he finally seals Magnus’ lips with his.

Alec’s awkward with nicknames. Now that he’s thinking about it, he realises that the only one whom he calls with a nickname is Izzy and doesn’t everyone call her that? Well, except Magnus; and now that he’s thinking of him, he’s troubled over whether Magnus would like to have that: a pet name. Darling? Too common, Magnus practically calls everybody that. Baby? No way, he’d rather die than have to call someone that. Mags? Alec makes a face. 

“What’s with that face? Wait, don’t tell me Izzy made this,” Jace glares at the spoonful of stew he was about to put into his mouth and his eyes dart between Alec and the pot in between them. Alec’s confused for a moment but he shakes his head and puts his spoon down, to which Jace sighs in relief and shoves the spoon into his mouth. 

“Jace, what did you call your…girlfriends? I mean, did you call each other using pet names? Does it come naturally? Like, how do you suddenly go from calling someone by name to calling them by something else? What’s that something else? How-”

“Wait, wait, wait. Slow it down, bud. Are you talking about things like babe, princess or things like that?” Alec nods solemnly at the question and Jace’s confusion suddenly turns to smugness. He was about to make a jab at that but Alec shook his head and Jace dropped it out of kindness from seeing his parabatai so troubled. He merely shrugs and offers, “Don’t think too much about it; it’s gonna come out forced if you overthink it, and yes, I can totally see you overthinking right now so don’t even deny it, I know you Alec,” Alec huffs but he takes the advice to heart and tries not to wince when he has to get his boyfriend’s attention and has to settle for “Magnus”. 

And when it finally happens, he just has to mess it up, or so he thinks, when he picks up a phone call mid-mission and in his distraction, he answers with, “Hi love, what’s up,” after which there’s a silence that’s a beat too long and Alec realises that he’s fucked up because he hasn’t even said the three words and this order is totally wrong and oh god, Magnus doesn’t feel the same yet, does he? He’s this close to flinging his phone to the furthest end of the world when Magnus clears his throat and replies, voice a little unsteady, “Well, Alexander, I love you too, if that’s what you were trying to say,” and Alec is amazed by how Magnus always knows and never in his life had he wanted to be a warlock so badly just so he could portal to right where Magnus was and kiss the stars out of him.

I know! I need to finish the ep to talk about it and understand everything, but apart from that, tell me if im wrong, but ive been noticing how weird the writers have been getting lately. So in the last episode we got malec kisses and stuff, but now in the next one according to the promo they're going to fight? I don't understand??

Honestly, I’ve been here waiting for somebody to explain to me what the hell happened to the writers? Like... they only added like 2 or 3 new writers, the rest is the same? So what the hell happened???

Last week we had like 3 minutes of Malec with at least some kisses, apparently they had sex, which we only know bc of a conversation between Magnus and Jace of all people, Alec saw Magnus’ cat eyes, Magnus saved Alec, no kisses, no real conversation and next week apparently them fighting because I am guessing Alec accuses Magnus of him not telling Alec about Izzy and that fucking yin fen.

ok ok BUT CAN WE PROPERLY TALK ABOUT THE KISS? first of all, was this the kiss which was supposed to top the wedding one? Bc let me just tell you, it didn't, imo.i mean it was ADORABLE and definitely killed me, but it wasn't better than the first one was it? now the good sides,- oh my god. the first thing that made me insanely happy is Magnus pulling Alec closer. also Alec's little smile destroyed my existence. but obvs Jace had to come in and interrupt my love birds. was kinda funny tho haha

YES! I’ve done my homework, watched the kiss more than a dozen times, I’m ready to field this question. :’) I don’t know about topping the wedding, but I’m glad for this kiss because it iterates the fact that Alec chose Magnus. That he may be a hard choice, but Alec isn’t about to push him away just because of that.

The two kisses happened under very different circumstances. During the wedding, Alec was almost forced to make a split-second choice whether to follow his head or his heart, whether to honour the Clave and his parents and what they stood for or to be true to himself and what he wants. When he stepped off the altar and kissed Magnus, it felt to me almost instinctive and visceral. It was almost like a reaction to Magnus’ words from earlier and his presence. 

Personally, I liked this one better, if not for the kiss, for the things that happened before and after the kiss. I loved the date, it wasn’t unrealistically perfect. They find out about each other, maybe a bit more than they would have liked (but it was bound to come up anyway, so I’m glad it happened sooner rather than later). They took a long walk, coming down from the high of a first date, having time to themselves to think about what their words meant and where they would go, if they would go. Alec had his reservations and I liked that Magnus never tried to sugarcoat things, even at Hunter’s Moon and he let Alec decide. Can I say how much I love that about Magnus? He has so much power, knowledge and experience, so much leverage, yet he never used that to persuade or change Alec. It wasn’t like in S1 where Magnus had a point to prove, where he wanted Alec to face himself truly before he made his decision. This time he left Alec to decide on his own and it made that decision all the more powerful. 

I absolutely loved the lines “I don’t care how many people you’ve been with” and “I don’t care how many people you haven’t been with”. It doesn’t mean that Alec is entirely fine - he cares, not for reasons that Magnus had imagined, and he needed Magnus to know that he doesn’t care for it enough to see it as a problem. That second line showed that Magnus knew instantly. He knows what Alec is fighting, what he is insecure about, what’s going through his mind when he tells him about having had countless lovers over his very long life and he alleviated Alec’s distress over his lack of experience with that one line. The kiss fitted naturally; standing for the things Alec couldn’t express in words. They reached out, craving each other. Then Alec pulls back, needing to know what they were, and Magnus gave him all the right answers. 

If Jace hadn’t appeared they probably would have dived back in but it’s all right, Alec’s gonna be back for more. 😉

Hi Nitsa! Thanks for your well wishes I’m great and damn excited for 2x07 ehehehe, I’m sure you are too! 

1) I say both (because I’m greedy like that) but in different ways. Alec is always up for cuddling; always getting into Magnus’ space, crowding him in, whether he be doing his magic, reading through texts, grabbing a drink from the cabinet, he likes to sneak up and leans into Magnus. Of course, Magnus is surprised to learn that Alec loves cuddling but he’s always ready to oblige, leaning right back into Alec. Magnus, on the other hand, likes to initiate cuddling when they’re either on the couch or on the bed, where they’re all stretched out and relaxed. Sometimes he likes to be the big spoon, clinging to Alec as he lies on his side, flipping a book from Magnus’ library. Sometimes he just turns his back on Alec and grabs his arm over to cover his stomach and Alec just chuckles and obliges while kissing the top of his head as he holds him. 

Then they get comfortable enough to annoy each other and all hell breaks loose. Alec tries to mess up Magnus’ hair whenever he can, enveloping him in hugs and card his hands through his meticulously styled hair to Magnus’ chagrin. Magnus retaliates by attacking Alec with agile fingers running up his sides, legs hooked around Alec’s to keep him from using his enhanced speed from getting away and Alec squirms and laughs and tries to get Magnus to stop but they just end up laughing on the floor, Magnus’ hair all messed up and Alec’s shirt crumpled and they just sit there, breathless, but smiling. 

2) I’ll say Alec, just because he likes to go on and on trying to justify his decisions and Magnus will just throw his hands in the air and be like, do whatever you want. When Alec realises that Magnus was right all this time, he steals a guilty glance at Magnus and he just raises his eyebrows in an “I told you so” manner and Alec just sits there and fumes while Magnus flutters around his apartment without a care, until Alec can’t take it and apologises to Magnus. Of course, Magnus is always quick to forgive. 

3) There probably isn’t really a single part of each other that they can isolate and say that it’s their favourite, but if they’re feeling really sappy (like I am rn or forever), they’ll say it’s each other’s smiles because they’re the happiest when the other is happy.

guuueessss whooosss baaack hiii Jocelyn! so i just wanted to talk about max cause i honestly didnt expect him to be so. errrmmm.. mean? thats proabably not the right word to describe him, but i hope you get what im trying to say. the whole freaking ep, this little child who i thought would be cute was acting rude and kinda aggressive?? no?? is it just me??

Hi Nitsa~ :) Ahh, I was a little disappointed that the meeting between Max and Magnus didn’t go as amiable as we though. :( I guess they were trying to show how Maryse’s actions are influencing those of Max’s, so how she treats Jace and Magnus is very much reflected in how Max sees them. It’s sad, but I think it’s kind of realistic, considering Max is under the tutelage of his parents most of the time and being precocious, probably forced by the situation as well, he’s probably gonna pick up signals from Maryse and exhibit the same behaviors. 

Max also told Alec about Maryse and Robert fighting and he thinks it’s because of Alec and Magnus, which would make his rudeness towards Magnus understandable (but not tolerable). Max does seem pretty spoilt doesn’t he; based on the interactions so far, he hasn’t gotten much shit for things he say and do. I hope this changes though, since now Maryse realizes how harmful that is for Max. 

Meanwhile, I’ll count on fanon to give me adorable Max and Magnus interactions and hopefully it changes in canon as well~

Are they messing with us? What is this? I did expect Simon confessing his love, but i didn’t think we would get a cringey kiss! It’s just, - climon seems so wrong to me?? Simon falling in love with Clary, this just proves that a boy/girl friendships don’t exist(which is the dumbest thing to think). And oh yes, the only thing we got from malec was that little pat on Alec’s shoulder. They can’t be serious.

And you know that really leaves me speechless here? Malec who were kinda “famous” to have all these serious and real conversations.... suddenly stop talking about important issues? Like... for example sleeping together? Acting like nothing happened? Instead we get some kind of “shovel talk” from Jace??? Or what about like talking about Magnus’ warlock mark?

I am like.... seriously???

At this point I really hope the creators know how disappointed we all are. They went insane, giving us malec sneak peeks, promos, EVERYTHING. they promised us that we would see the "malec mania" whatever the hell that was supposed to be. Ugh

I am pretty sure they will find out and see how pissed the fandom is right now, Nitsa. And call me a bitter bitch (and I am normally a really nice person) but they deserve to get all the disappointment and anger right now. With full force.

Because I am not sorry to say it but…. you cannot promote an episode with “Malec Mania” and in the end their scenes last for about 3 fucking minutes in total.

Not to mention that the whole episode was a fucking mess. So there’s that.

You know, the thing is even if they “acknowledge” their mistakes (still can’t believe how that happened in the first place but ... whatever) they are already filming 2b. And I am pretty sure, even if the books aren’t written for all the eps as of yet, they can’t change much. And THAT scares me at this point more than I wanna admit.

I haven't even seen the ep yet, but as always I saw a lot of spoilers. My heart dropped and I don't think I've ever felt this dissapointed. So apparently we did get the dumb jacexsome girl scenes, but not malec? Nice job creators, I'm really proud.

Nitsa~~~ I’m disappointed over this episode’s treatment of malec. We’ve gotten so much respect for their relationship so far but this episode really made me upset over how magnus’ feelings and insecurities as well as the black out of whatever that came after, be it the communication that we so desperately need or the physical intimacy made extremely jarring with the inclusion of Jace’s scene. So there may or may not be more in the next episode but when they don’t resolve important issues (like how they did in the last), it leaves a really bitter taste and this absolutely isn’t the cliffhanger we need. I mean, all we can hope for now is a better 2X08.

Hi!So I'm currently reading the 5th book of MO and tbh I'm really pissed off.If you've read the books, which I assume u have, they're filled w/ Clace. MALEC IS NOWHERE TO BE SEEN IN THE BOOKS. and the break up(I got spoiled)?? what the actual hell??

Yeah, sorry to be that person but… Malec is simply a mess in the books. And not just because the narrative is mostly from Clary’s point but in general. It’s just CC can’t write good characterization. You can look at any of her characters…. it’s just. Not good, to put it nicely. But with Malec (who she both adore so much, lmao) is probably the worst. Because like the way she treats them? Sending them away for half of the 4th book and now in book 5 Alec’s biphobia and the bs with taking away Magnus immortality without his knowledge? The break up? That ending? What bs is this? And you dare to tell me that you love these characters? Yeah. Sure.

I am sorry, pumpkin, but if you wanna see Malec having real and honest conversations and having a healthy relationship you better get far away from the books while you still can and continue watching the show.

Hi lovely~~~ I’m doing great!! Thanks for asking

I have such a soft spot for domestic malec. I usually hate romcoms and cheesy stories but when it comes to malec I’m weak and sappy af, so bear with me~

Alec always wakes up earlier than Magnus. Not for anything else, but just to be there when Magnus opens his eyes, unglamoured. He’s got it all memorised; the way Magnus peeks open with his right eye and gives a small frown at the sunlight peeking through the curtains, slowly stretching out and over gracefully before looking at Alec and giving a sleepy smile. Yet it doesn’t stop him from doing that every morning just so he can relive the moment he falls in love with those golden orbs. 

Magnus can’t cook. Which surprises and doesn’t surprise Alec at the same time. “What can I say, I’ve lived a lavish life” doesn’t seem like a valid excuse to him. Alec doesn’t take it lying down and brings ingredients to Magnus’ loft every Sunday and forces him to help but things don’t usually go his way. “Magnus, stop cutting those onions with magic.” “Why not?”

That doesn’t mean Alec isn’t learning to be reliant on Magnus’ magic. When Alec returns to the loft after a mission, he whines (he will never admit it) to Magnus about how exhausted he is and whether he could just magic him clean. Magnus just snorts, “Well, I could magic you naked and you can get to the shower yourself, or with me.” At which point Alec just rolls his eyes and groans while dragging himself into the bathroom only to realise that Magnus has already run a hot bath for him. 

And it turns out that Alec isn’t just great at apologies, he’s also great at showing appreciation. When Magnus returns from a particularly nasty client, Alec is waiting for him by the doorway and the moment the door snap shuts Alec envelopes him in a hug and pulls both of them towards the bathroom. Magnus quirks an eyebrow but lets Alec gently strip him of all this jewelry and clothes and steps into the lavender scented bath. “What’s the occasion?” “Nothing, just thought it’d make you feel better.” “Oh, Alexander.” And they just talk, Alec sitting on a stool next to the tub, gently massaging Magnus’ hands, as he listens to Magnus rant about his day. 

“Magnus, thank you.” “For?” “For being you.”

I FUCKING DIGRESSED. But I’m such a sap for domestic malec. I’m a sucker for bamf malec fighting too but episode five gave me too much feels for this. Not really headcanons because I talk way too much and this became a ficlet kind of thing. Hehe hope you like it though~

ugh I know right. Uni is so laaaaame. I am an English major so I have to read all these books and watch all these movies and all I really wanna do is read evak fanfiction and watch skam over and over again (which is the only thing I do now anyway)
