I present to you - The Amazing Spider-Moony

I feel like we need more Spider-Moony headcanons, since there is a depressingly low amount of Spider-Moony. So here's some of my personal Spider-Moony headcanons. Feel free to disagree, just be nice.

The Marauders are still wizards, partly because I'm unimaginative, but mainly because I feel like Remus can only really become Spider-Man after James and Lily die, Sirius gets chucked in prison, and Peter is supposedly killed. I feel like Remus needs that whole "the people I love are no longer here" trope to actually be able to fully encompass his powers.

But since he's still a werewolf, he still transforms every full moon, they just affect him less because of the superior spider healing.

He was bitten (by the spider) on a trip to Hogsmeade in fifth year. A Squib scientist was living in the village to keep a low profile and further his spider project. One of the spiders managed to escape and happened upon Remus by an incredible stroke of luck. (Please be nice I'm writing this when I should be sleeping)

And Remus didn't know about the bite until he was in his dorm room trying to sleep off a massive headache (from the bite) and woke up in a cold sweat and while he was trying to pull the blankets off himself he realized he couldn't because they were sticking to his hand.

So to keep his cool he just rolled over and pretended to sleep (Sirius was asking him if he was okay and Remus, being the little cinnamon roll he is, just said "yeah I'm fine" and then went completely silent)

And of course he didn't tell anyone, he just assumed that it'd blow over and he would never have to deal with it anymore.

But it didn't blow over and one day in fifth year (about a month and a half after he was bitten) Sirius asked him how he was feeling

And he kinda forgot how full moons used to affect him because he felt GREAT

But he didn't feel like lying to his (boy)friend, so he just said "fine"

And Sirius didn't push it

But when the full moon came again and the Marauders were out frolicking in the woods, Wolf-Remus got tangled up in a bush, and his friends couldn't get him out (partly because they were in their Animagus forms), but also because he was LITERALLY STICKING TO THE BUSHES

But he just explained it off and said that his fur looks really soft, but it’s actually just really matted and gross and that’s how he stuck to the bushes. The Marauders didn’t press it, but they were still concerned.

But Remus is HORRIBLE at keeping secrets, and one time when he and Sirius were in his bed Remus' hand stuck to Sirius' shoulder and he couldn't move it and he nearly panicked because holy shit I'm screwed, but Sirius didn't really care and was just trying to calm Remus down.

So Remus told him about the spider and how he's got these weird powers and he doesn't know what to do with them and it's been so stressful trying to keep it from Sirius

And he broke down crying because Sirius really didn't care about his freaky powers, he just wanted to help him

And in their sixth year is when James and Peter found out

It was after The Prank when he and Sirius still had to get themselves together

And Remus, being the little depressed cinnamon roll he is, snuck away from the dormitory one night without the Invisibility Cloak

And the Marauder’s Map showed him in an unused classroom, so of course James (having stolen the map from Sirius’ nightstand) used it to try to talk with Remus

Except when he showed up Remus wasn’t in the room

Like, anywhere

He’d just vanished

And James thought he was in the wrong room at first

But he wasn’t, Remus WAS there, he was just hiding in the upper corner using spider powers

So ofc he just … crawled down when he saw that it was James and scared the shit out of him

But James didn’t care that his friend had been hiding the spider secret for over a year, because he just wanted to make sure Remus knew he was still loved and safe and all of that soft James “I love you so much and I’m gonna make sure you know it” Potter stuff

And so of course Remus was just feeling depressed and unloved and really needed that right about then

And Peter found out last, Remus told him a few days after James found out and he brought up the point of webs

And Remus had never realized that he could make his own webs

Like they just shot out of him Tobey Maguire style

But that opened a whole new door for him because now he could make his own book nook way up in the corner of the dormitory and no one could disturb him because he was LITERALLY BEYOND THEIR REACH

And sometimes he would just sleep up there when he was really tired and reading through half the night

But Sirius hated it when Remus did that because it gave him really bad anxiety about Remus falling and possibly breaking something even though he KNEW Remus wouldn’t break anything (because honestly, how many times was he jump scared from the webs?? an uncountable number of times let’s be honest)

So Sirius Transfigured an old textbook from first year into a ladder and had Remus stick it to the web so he could climb up there and wake him up to bring him down to a safer sleeping place

And Remus used to fight him about it but then he realized that he could just sleep in Sirius’ bed with him and he wouldn’t care

And when they graduated Hogwarts and they had their own place Sirius devoted an entire room for Remus to make his own little hiding place

Because when the war tore them apart but Remus was too poor to get his own place but too proud to let Sirius handle it he would sleep in there

And he would remember the old times in the Gryffindor boys' dorm

And when Sirius went to Azkaban and Remus was really alone he became a spider vigilante Andrew Garfield style to catch any of the Death Eaters that were still running free

And of course he discovered that Sirius was never one of them

So when he was teaching and Sirius broke out of Azkaban and came to Hogwarts he trusted him immediately

And together they caught Peter (it was really more Remus than Sirius but still)

And Peter still got away

And Sirius still died

But Remus managed to survive and raise his son and it turns out that his son also had spider powers

So it’s just the two of them and all their spidery baggage

And when Teddy comes out as bi Remus is just so happy for him he tells him everything about Sirius, even the bad stuff

And I swear this used to be about Spider-Moony?
