One good thing about the Christmas shopping season starting so early is that if I want to get a beard for a Peter Lukas cosplay I just have to go get a Santa beard from the dollar store

I already have a fancy blue sailory looking jacket that my nana made when she was a birthday party performer for hire in the seventies. Now I just need a hat and possibly a pipe.

Thinking about my nana now actually, I remember her talking about being a hippie in the sixties and seventies. I wonder if she ever did drugs, since that was like a hippie thing or something. Somehow I doubt it since she’s always been a devout Christian and my great-grandparents were probably not ok with drug use. I’m not going to ask her, but it’s interesting to wonder.

Crushed In The Cold

Peter let out a deep sigh, a final to a long day, made even longer by his work. All he wanted to do after a long day was get into bed alone after such a long day of dealing with other people in his space, constantly in his space. Another sigh.

It was a cold night, fog already breathed up the glass of his bedroom window. A minor annoyance, the blurred aspects of reality affected by the seemingly constant simmering fog. Like a coat that never seemed to sit quite right. Poetic. He could only scoff at himself, such words for a pointless descriptor.

He adjusted the heavy woolen turtleneck he’d selected for bed after his shower, a soft brown colour, it fit loosely on his large frame, but comfortably. The man soon found himself beside his bed, stretching his arms upwards and casting one more lingering glance into the lonely sidewalk across the street. 

There weren't even any lights.

Nothing to see as he let himself lazily fall into his bed, it wasn’t his usual to do things so… But Peter was tired, and he only cared about being lazy alone for the time being where he wasn't captaining The Tundra. 

“Oof-”

The man’s eyes widened, suddenly uncomfortable being in his bed.

“Nice…”

Peter looked down and through the most minute sliver of moonlight could he see it. Your eyes, glittering at him from just above the blanket that covered his mattress. He thought you were just the pillows, aligned oddly. It wasn’t like he remembered how he’d left his pillows.

But here you were, pinned underneath the weight of the man, comfortable despite the soft chill that always seemed to billow off of him in waves. You’d made his bed warm in the time he was in the shower, making yourself at home in his apartment while he was deployed off to the seas for another expedition, you called them.

“Hi Peter.”

He wanted to stammer your name, chastise you, berate you for being here when he wanted to be alone.

But the mere shock of the situation had him falling silent, confused.
