Which of the five classical elements (earth, air, fire, water, love/spirit/heart/plasma) do you associate with each of these five members of Yes: Jon Anderson, Bill Bruford, Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe, and Chris Squire (one element per band member)

hmmm interesting question….

the obvious one is chris. i personally associate him with the element of water… and its pretty ubiquitous for most. and since we’re not talking about dual elements, i’ll save the pokemon-typing talk for later

and as much as i want to give jon the element of earth, he is very psyche to me [<- is that a good word for the heart/mind/plasma element???]. imo it reflects in his songwriting and his general air, and his whimsy :>

earth goes to a rick. he’s just very grounded imo and his character and humor reflect it. he just has that air… also how else is beer made without the soil to grow wheat and barley?

no steve doesn’t get fire imo… although it would be funny. because of the dont cry music video. instead he gets air, which in my opinion makes a bit more sense… he has a temper yes but also? air?? idk my brain just associates him with air

and finally bill with the element of fire. not because of any crimson… but because of his passion. to jazz. we adore tubs and his temper [fire v water match when] also this is another one i can’t really explain, it just makes sense to me
