OG HOA Characters and what their Major would be in College
Side note; once again hello I am alive. Currently in my last year of college so I have been dedicating majority of my time to my studies. I still have ideas and love for this account I am just not really consistent so my apologies. With school being my priority right now, it has got me thinking about what each of the characters major would be if they ended up going to university. Hope you all enjoy <3
Nina
I think we as a fandom have collectively decided Nina would be maybe a journalism major or a history major, and honestly I think that is very accurate!
Personally, I can see her being a History major with a Journalism minor
I mean especially from all her sibuna escapades, she loved learning the history of the house and all that was in it
I like to think she carried that love with her beyond Anubis. Maybe it makes her feel at home in a way (was Anubis traumatic? yes. but it was home <3)
I think writing the play back in S1, although stressful during the time due to a centuries old scavenger hunt, I think maybe that ignited a love of writing in her and she ended up doing it as a hobby for a while
I mean, she had a diary so obviously writing of some sorts seemed to be therapeutic for her (apparently to therapeutic in S3 smh) IM SORRY BAD JOKE BAD JOKE
Amber
Amber OBVIOUSLY went into something to do with fashion ; I mean she left in S3 to go to a fashion school so it checks out, and she's Amber so DUH
Majoring in Fashion Design, holding her own little runways during the school year
Maybe even having a clothing sale on campus at some point in the year
EVERYONE wants to get their hands on an Amber original
If she didn't go in fashion design I could also see her being a business major
Amber is our OG #GirlBoss so I can see her going into this major with the intents of learning the odds and ins of running a business
I think shed still be selling some sort of fashion or accessory but she would just be studying the principles of running a business.
She gives very Elle Woods "I have a 4.0 average!" "Yeah in fashion merchandising..."
Fabian
Fabian definitely gives History major to me as well (Fabina is the cutest couple in the history department)
Him and Nina compare notes <3
He was always a studious guy so it makes sense!
I can see him potentially becoming a Museum Curator (Him and the Sibuna gang found half of the relics in the museum)
Fabian is also our music guy, I will never forgive the writers for not putting in more clips of Fabian and his guitar UGHHH
I could see him picking up a Music minor just as a backup (more importantly for fun)
He really enjoys his History of Music class because its literally his two favorite subjects TOGETHER
HIs professors are very impressed with his knowledge of ancient Egyptian mythology (little do they know...)
Patricia
Honestly Patricia is hard for me to figure out
I think she’d maybe take a gap year or something after Anubis or maybe travel the USA and hang with Eddie maybe?
Maybe she would go into criminology?
Idk maybe being kidnapped and seeing an unjust system (the police being a part of Victors life cult) she’d want to be in the system herself because “at least i’ll be doing what’s right even if everyone else isn’t”
I think also having no one to listen and help her in S1 may fuel this as well.
Or hell, maybe she’d major in law
then she’d get to prosecute all the shitty people doing shitty things
Alfie
literally had to consult the discord to figure out stuff for this mf
I now know technically he probs went for business cause of his dad, BOOOOOOOOOOOO FUCK THAT IDEA LET MY BOY BE HAPPY
Some sort of art major
I like to think he made most of his costumes so maybe something within theater costuming
or hell even theater we know he would do so good
He loves putting on shows and making people laugh, it what he LIVES for
Maybe he goes on to have some sort of comedy special
Also idea from the HOA discord im in, him and Jerome def went to the same college and were roommates (oh my god they were roommates)
Jerome
this bitch went into business or something for sure
I will never forget Jerome basically have a homework selling SIDE HUSTLE in S1
(and Fabian threatening to expose him)
Finds some sort of niche that wouldn't be illegal and expands on it
actually does pretty well, he has experience per say so
Since Alfie did art as a major, Jerome lets him take home his business textbooks so his dad doesn't find out he isn't majoring in business (i love these two dumbasses so much guys i love friendship ugh)
Mick
Sports medicine probably
you guys know mick is like a thumb to me character-wise love him and dont at the same time
Mara
MY GIRL WENT INTO PSYCHOLOGY
you guys can trust me on this, I am literally getting my bachelors in psychology
tbh she just LOOKS like I would see her in one of my psych classes
She was trying (for a while) to help calm Patricia and talk her through her worries early on in S1 , I think its just in her nature to want to help others
She went as far as cheating on a test to help someone, girl goes the extra mile...even if the mile was wrong
Also beginning S1 when Amber first voices her concerns about Mick not loving her anymore Mara is literally the first one to be like "No that's not true!"
I feel like she would just go the cognitive therapist route (basically your average sit down talk to therapist)
She might go into some of the more neuroscience sides of psychology since she was so studious and SO GOOD at science and stuff (our "biology babe")
Joy
journalism with a communication minor for sure
she ran that school newspaper like it was the navy
I like to think she would go on to be apart of the newspaper/news group of her college
Maybe she goes on to be a reporter or something
or maybe she has a column in the news or maybe even works for a magazine company

House Of Anubis: How The OG Dutch/Belgium show was butchered in its adaptation by Nickelodeon Part 2: Nienke (Nina) & Amber
I was inspired to pick these for part 2 because of @evelhak sharing a post regarding Stella and Bloom's friendship in the original Winx Club cartoon, because the friendships do have some similar building blocks in their respective original shows. So today we will go over Exhibit B, why Nienke and Amber had a superior friendship in the original, why Nina leaving after S1 was bad writing and my problems with how they adapted Amber. 1. I think it might be wise to start with my problems with Amber in the English adapration first. For one, they definitely decreased Amber's bimbo factor in the adaptation because in the OG she was THE lovable bimbo. Amber was more naive and ditzy in the OG, sure she had good intuitions, the occasional creative spark and an implied secret love for at the time niche interests like anime, but she was still a bimbo. And as an anime fan, I take offense in removing her being a closet otaku. You see, in the OG Amber adores this fictional show that very much sounds like an anime- her description of the show contains Japanese names and the show is about a ninja who has a talking fish. It's called Nancy Ninja, and she actually busts out cringy attempts at martial arts that has the same energy as the Naruto run after she asked herself, "What would Nancy Ninja do?" That scene is just iconic, including Appie (Alfie) staring at the sky as a response and questioning God why he created blondes. I'll be going over how their ship was butchered in part 3 where I will be adressing Jeroen (Jerome) and Appie (Alfie). 2. This is part of why Amber and Nienke in the OG share some similarities with Stella and Bloom. Amber, like Stella, is both a bimbo and an 'It' girl. Unlike Amber in the English adaptation, OG Amber also never left the show and remained part of the Sibuna gang until graduation where she ended up becoming a model. Nienke on the other hand, is still an attractive girl even though she looks more like a wallflower in comparison to Amber and as the new one arriving so shortly after Joyce's disappearance she has targets on her back immediately. Yet Amber is one of the first to let go of her suspisions and actually becomes the person to support Nienke coming out of her shell like when she develops feelings for Fabian- Amber is the one Nienke can rely on for advice and throughout the series Nienke does become less shy and insecure thanks to the confidence she gains as the Sibuna leader and the emotional support she receives along the way. These characters could have easily been enemies, like the shy underdog taking up against the popular pretty bitch- but no. Amber and Nienke become best friends pretty quickly. Like Stella, Amber is also fiercely loyal and a bit protective which is why she was inititally angry when Nienke was her new roommate without an explanation what happened to Joyce. Amber is one of the likeliest characters to cut a bitch if something happened to her friends, right behind Patricia. 3. As you can see, Amber and Nienke never left the show- together with Fabian they are actually the most reappearing characters. In the OG, Appie (Alfie) actually was played by a different actor at first but he dropped out to go to acting school. He was replaced with another actor and they explained it away through a magical curse that literally altered his identity. Which is why Nina leaving the show after S1 is complete bullshit. The OG literally had a gimmick which they could have used for at least Nina's character considering she is the show's protagonist. The fact Nina is an orphan just like in the OG, actually means she has an easier time in certain ways if her identity was changed as Appie still had a family. Appie being physically a stranger to his loved ones is a small storyline he goes through. Nina's barely would have needed a small storyline like that as she only would have needed to prove herself to the Sibuna gang. This is why Nina leaving the show is nothing more but bad writing, because why remove your protagonist without a reason?
youtube
(I'm reliving my sapphic freak outs over Nienke yet again) Please watch the OG! This fanwebsite contains links to Google Drive documents of fan-subbed episodes. And here is also a video about Nienke and Fabian's ship because seriously-its difficult to explain how this ship was revered by so many back in the day.

i’ll always think abt s1 sibuna bc of how and why each member ended up joining like
first is nina, and yeah technically sibuna doesn’t exist until amber but i’ll get there. nina shows up to anubis house and feels extremely unwelcome, due to patricia and the tension in the house caused by patricia blaming her for joy’s disappearance. nina feels so unwelcome she starts going to school early, which is how she meets sarah on the bench outside of anubis house. this leads to her taking sarah back to the old folks’ home where she gets the locket and is instructed by sarah to find and protect the treasure.
fabian is a bit different cause you could argue that he gets involved in sibuna and the mystery cause he likes nina but i think there’s more to it as well. at the beginning of s1 we’re shown that fabian’s best friends are joy and patricia. joy has suddenly left and patricia is obsessed with being rude to nina and figuring out joy’s disappearance, so fabian is probably feeling pretty alone at that point too. combined with the obvious connections to egypt that the mystery had and he was sold.
amber is the most fascinating to me bc she on the surface she seems like the least likely to get involved but in the chain of events it makes perfect sense. mick and mara have started to hang out a lot due to mara tutoring him and amber is getting jealous and upset that mick is spending less time with her. to me it seemed like amber was worried that mick was gonna leave her for mara and she wasn’t going to have anyone. she wasn’t previously shown to be super close to anyone at anubis house besides him, so in her mind, she needed friends and fast. when she overhears nina trying to solve the second clue, she then leans over the stall to snap a pic and basically blackmail nina into telling her what’s going on lol. pretty soon after that she comes up with the sibuna name and iconic hand gesture and bam new solid friend group.
patricia had been feeling alone for basically the entire time since joy left, so she gravitated to the first person who it seemed would give her real answers, rufus. when she convinces nina to come with her to meet rufus about her locket, and they see him being taken away by victor, patricia no longer has anyone to help her. combined with the fact that witnessing this event together cleared some of the tension between patricia and nina and it was the perfect time for patricia to join sibuna.
tbh looking back on s1, alfie becoming part of sibuna seemed like more of a foregone conclusion considering how many times he became collateral damage to their shenanigans, poor dude. between getting in trouble after fabian broke the clock, to getting trapped in the cellar, to getting poisoned by them, he really had it rough lol. besides that, all throughout s1 his best friend is jerome. except jerome doesn’t always act like a good friend to alfie. constantly sabotaging his efforts to woo amber, making him pay for his help, and ditching alfie the second it looked like he had a chance with mara, by the student council arc alfie is feeling pretty abandoned by jerome. the scene where he thinks ms andrews is a snake alien and tackles her to the ground is both hilarious and relevant because it leads to the rest of sibuna deciding they truly can’t leave him in the dark anymore, and he becomes one of them.
like their bond is so strong not only because amber forced them to burn objects of value to them in a fire barrel behind the school (lol i just rlly wanted to mention that, like girl was committed) or because they were the only ones who knew about the mystery, but because they all needed each other. when each of them was at their lowest and most alone, they found a group of people like them who would stick by them and idk i just think that’s cool and wanted to rant abt it shdjdjdj

Some Nina and Victor Head canons. Note, that these are all season two or post season two in an AU where Nina came back for her third year, and Victor's characterization/character arc from the first two seasons isn't ignored.
(I feel like season three messed up almost everyone's characterizations/character arcs, with Victor and Jerome being the most egregious examples of their season three selves not matching with their end of season two selves.)
Victor respects Nina. During season two, when he admits to Vera that Nina makes him nervous, he clearly at the very least respects what she is capable of. And I think after the finale he just respects her with no asterisks or qualifiers.
If anyone else had told Victor that his father was sorry, he wouldn't have believed them, but he believes Nina. If it was Sarah, he would think that she was lying to make him feel better. If it were Rufus, then a lie to manipulate him some how. And he probably wouldn't even bother listening to anyone else about it. But for some reason he believes Nina, and not just because she's so bad at lying.
After meeting Victor Sr. and hearing what he has to say about his son, Nina understands where Victor Jr. is coming from a bit better. And she has more empathy and understanding for him, and after season two she no longer fears him.
After season two, Victor starts regularly calling her Nina, and she doesn't really notice until someone else points it out to her. And it weirds everyone else out because he only calls the students (prior to this, including Nina) by their last names.
-
After season two, Victor would be willing to give Nina lessons about Egyptian mythology, reading hieroglyphics, and alchemy, and Nina would be willing to receive them. I don't know which one of them broaches the subject first, but these lessons do start happening. Both of them, especially after the first name incident, are determined to keep this a secret. Nina does share the fact that Victor is teaching her "chosen one things" with the core members of Sibuna (Fabian, Amber, Patricia, Alfie).
Sibuna warns her to be careful, and Fabian desperately wants to be included in those lessons, but Victor makes it perfectly clear that none of the other miscreants are invited. Nina does share the knowledge with Fabian anyway. Or at least the impersonal knowledge that these lessons are objectively supposed to be about.
But after a while these meetings go from being purely academic to at least partially personal. It starts with Nina asking about what Sarah was like when she was younger, and with Victor asking for more details about his father's ghost. Over time they form a sort of relationship, I'm not sure if I would call it a friendship, they certainly wouldn't, but a positive relationship where they find themselves trusting each other with things that they don't tell anyone else.
Victor discusses things like his childhood with Rufus and Sarah, and his father, and about his guilt over what he and Rufus did to Sarah, and how he misses them sometimes.
Nina admits to being terrified of being the chosen one. It's a curse and it's already hurt the people around her, and what if it gets them killed? And she admits to being confused by Eddie and what her relationship is supposed to be with him as the osirian. She barely interacted with him at all last year outside of his relationship with Patricia. And he seems so eager to embrace being the osirian, while she just wants to runaway from being the paragon.
And in response Victor tells her about Rufus and Sarah discovering what being the osirian and chosen one meant for them, and what it was like watching them before Rufus went made with power. Victor then makes a comment about Mr. Miller being too much of an imbecile to go down the same path that Rufus did. And Nina takes it as the reassurance it was meant to be.
-
I'm not mad that Natalia Ramos left. I refuse, on principle to be mad at her. It's just, with Nina gone, there was so much potential for Nina and Victor's character dynamic to develop. And it makes me so upset when I think about it. And even without Nina there I feel like Victor's character arc was thrown down the drain even before he became a sinner!

Patricia, Fabian and Victor for the ask game
OH THIS IS GREAT
Tumblr media
i love patricia <3
"war crimes" is a bit harsh but if she wanted to i'd let her commit war crimes :)
the "specific other characters" are joy (speaks for itself), eddie (speaks for itself), fabian (insane that they're foils by the end of the show), alfie (the scene in the laundry room in s1 is so good that i'm one hyperfocus day away from writing an essay about it), and nina + kt (for pretty much the same reason? and the aforementioned foiling relationship between fabian and patricia being through their relationships to these people/how they reflect their relationships to someone they care about deeply that left abruptly/how poorly they deal with that lol)
by "taking her from the narrative" i mean change how the sinners work and give her satisfying character development in 3b instead of being functionally annihilated to further the development of other characters xx
Tumblr media
I LOVE FABIAN <3
relationship to specific other characters refers to nina (literally writing a fic about this), joy (literally wrote an essay about this), patricia (see above), amber (i cant explain this concretely theres just something There that i love), victor (if fabian and patricia are foils, then fabian and victor are literally the same person and it makes me insane), and eddie and kt (forever thinking about the crypt scene)
only person who can do their fucking job may be a bit too generous but like. relatively speaking. i think it's fair
he's not the most interesting character in canon. he's the most interesting character in my head where i add all of the interesting parts :) (he is interesting in the show but when you're being compared to patricia/joy/jerome...it's simply not fair)
in that same vein: the taking him from the narrative is somewhat for the same reason as patricia but also because i want to damage him more elsewhere (and like, fix him later. i guess.)
that does NOT mean i want to kill him with a gun. i want to put him in the microwave for twenty minutes and watch him rotate. very important distinction
Tumblr media
i SCREAMED when i saw victor
when i say "doesn't do it for me out of the narrative" i mean he IS the narrative. without it the core elements of his camp nature cease to exist and i lose interest. what even is the point
specific other characters: sarah/rufus (self explanatory), fabian (foiling), joy (implication of her being his favorite/i mean, The Whole Child Abduction Thing), nina (the season 2 finale w his father's ring...Help), and vera (not because it's enjoyable to watch them flirt but more that a) he never noticed her giving Evil Looks to the Invisible Camera and b) she single-handedly turned him from intimidating antagonist to bumbling guy in the way 95% of the time in s2 which was the best choice they made with victor's character after s1 imo)
i want to kill him with a gun but more because it'd be funny, not because i want him super dead (that would mean my source of comedy is gone). kill him but he survives somehow so he could die again as a surprise twist/punchline would be ideal, thus both affectionate and derogatory
the "flavor" is not one that tastes good, but it sure is Stored in Him

hiiiii, joy and mara for the character thing
thank you!
JOY:
Why I like them: she's so well developed and funny and she just feels so real?? like I love female characters with actual flaws that they learn from its so much nicer than her just being perfect from the get go.
Why I don’t: I mean the nina article?? its kinda obvious tho. also maybe her involvement in jerome and mara's relationship at the very beginning of s3 like i get it and she was just being a good friend but I feel like if mara made more of those decisions herself then maybe the heartbreak would've hurt her less?? idk its pretty minor. also the fabian kiss(es) because.....
Favorite episode (scene if movie): the scene where she takes over the class and her scene with jerome where she tells them to be the bigger person
Favorite season/movie: three!!!
Favorite line: “aw eddie, someone already invented spaghetti bolognese”
Favorite outfit: her s3 uniform
OTP: jeroy
Brotp: joytricia, mara and joy, joy and alfie, idk most people
Head Canon: she has a cat named bella after bella from twilight lol
Unpopular opinion: I understand where people are coming from when they say the joy and nina plotline was unnecessary and some parts definitely were but idk I liked joy's arc in s2 I think it was a realistic teenage girl reaction to coming back to your home and finding that someone else has kinda taken your place. I like complex female relationships and I think in the end it was worth doing. also, I like that the fabian thing did follow into s3. like yeah maybe it could feel a little repetitive but with nina gone I think she needed real closure, not just stepping aside for the sake of someone else but to actually get a real answer and move on to have her arc where she found herself was far more real than just having her show up at the beginning of the season with a new look and attitude with no real growth idk I love her
A wish: idk a scene at the end of s3 or tor where she and patricia jus got to be friends and talk a little about everything idk
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: a reboot lol idk unless its done exclusively done by the people who did the sbtb reboot I don't ever wanna see a yassified 2022 version of her character development
5 words to best describe them: idkkkkk I don't like this part
My nickname for them: ?
MARA:
Why I like them: she so real and flawed and manages to be smart without slotting into the nerd archetype where she like hates fun and she's unapologetic about who she is and she’s die hard for her friends and I really appreciate that
Why I don’t: people in the show wince at some of the problematic shit she does (if they even know about it) but like the show doesn’t hold her accountable for much?? she keeps making the same kind of mistakes for the entire run of the show without really learning from them because no one ever makes her?? she has a massive problem with boundaries and knowing when to step back and mind her business.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): s3 revenge arc and tor
Favorite season/movie: same as above
Favorite line:  “We better hurry because it’s 93 million miles away! Science joke I’ll explain on the way”
Favorite outfit: i don't knowww lol her graduation gown
OTP: mickara
Brotp: joy and mara, patricia and mara, alfie and mara, eddie and mara
Head Canon: she was only put in boarding school in secondary school because of her parents’ travelling and busy schedules due to their careers as famous sports people and previous to that she was home schooled. she has a great relationship with her parents
Unpopular opinion: she was wayyy too in jerome’s business in s2 like to get that involved in his family and almost manipulate jerome’s feelings for her in order to get poppy what she wanted was too much like he was obsessed with her and still you could tell he was on the verge of snapping. and to write that article about eddie and jerome’s relationships with their fathers based purely on what they’d told her in confidence and then publish it without their permission?? in a place eddie’s dad could literally read it whilst barely concealing their identities?? that was kinda fucked. and people say her comment about jerome’s dad in s3 was out of left field but like she was saying shit like “do you want to end up like your dad” in s2 she’s always had this sense of moral superiority about the situation and being mad was all it took for that to properly come out. like she's such an interesting character but she’s definitely among the more sheltered of the house.
A wish: I just want her to be happy, see a therapist, figure some things out.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: people who say she’d never talk to anyone from anubis again you're so wrong that’s her family!!
5 words to best describe them: -
My nickname for them: I honestly ??

Which HOA kids have the ability to drive during senior year?
I don’t know why I was thinking about this, but I found myself wondering which of the HOA kids can drive a car, specifically during their senior year (not junior year, and not in college or as adults - just senior year). So I sorted out who has their license, how they drive and how well they drive, as well as who cannot drive and why.
The question: can they drive during senior year?
Nina - Yes. She worked on it and got her license in the summers between seasons, and she's a very normal and competent driver. However, she didn't actually return to the UK for senior year, so she never really had to learn how to drive a manual or get used to driving in another country. If she had been there senior year she totally would've been the designated driver that drove around way too many people in one car. But she is a perfectly fine driver during senior year in the US, and she does enjoy the occasional long drive with just herself and her thoughts.
Fabian - No. He has studied the rules of the road over and over again and he knows the driving manual inside and out, but driving in theory and driving in reality are very different things, and despite knowing exactly what to do, being behind the wheel of a car still makes him nervous and jumpy and he would simply prefer not to worry about that, he'd like to stay where he's comfortable. So he doesn't have his license yet.
Patricia - Yes. Absolutely she has her license by senior year. She got her license as soon as humanly possible, both for the freedom and because Piper is absolutely terrified of driving (in my brain at least), and that's something she wants to have over Piper and be better at and have for herself. I personally don't think she's as terrible a driver as most of you headcanon her to be, but she is definitely fast, aggressive, reckless, and slightly dangerous. Her car insurance premiums are through the roof. Getting in the car with Patricia is probably equivalent to getting on a roller coaster. She is very susceptible to road rage. But yes she can drive in senior year.
Amber - No. Why would she? She can just get chauffeured wherever she needs to go. She sees absolutely no reason why she would need to get her license, especially not during senior year.
Mick - Yes. Well, he can but he doesn't. By the time he could drive he was in Australia. So he learned to drive while he was in Australia, and he has his license during senior year and he's fine at it but he usually doesn't bother.
Mara - Yes. Of course she has her license, obviously. She does everything to the rules exactly, like annoyingly close to the letter. You WILL follow the rules in her car EXACTLY. She thinks she knows better than everyone else, and she does, but no one enjoys this fact. She corrects everyone else's driving, and she even goes out of her way to correct the instructor on her driving test. She is very concerned with safety and following the rules. If you don't buckle your seat belt she won't start the car. She also drives incredibly slowly and carefully, like an old lady. So yes she can drive, and you'll be very safe, but you might lose your mind in the process.
Jerome and Alfie - No. They actually remind me of a couple of friends of mine in high school who were ridiculous and attached at the hip but neither of them could fucking drive. Jerome and Alfie absolutely cannot drive, and neither of them get their licenses until deep into college. Both of them absolutely useless at driving all throughout high school, which is probably for the best tbh they probably shouldn't be trusted to drive anyway. Neither of them make a serious attempt to get their license, they just rely on the others to get them anywhere. For some reason I imagine their primary source of driving being Patricia, which is just absolutely chaotic and a complete disaster, but the image is just too good. However, the blood pressure-raising experience that is riding in a car with Patricia still somehow does absolutely nothing to motivate them to learn to drive.
Joy - Yes. She can drive, and she likes driving, but she's a very distractible driver. She can spend far too much time fiddling with the radio and the settings, and she does NOT like when other people mess with them and she WILL reprimand you for it at the expense of her focus on the road. She gets easily distracted by others in the car so you better be sure you're on your best behavior if you want a smooth ride.
Eddie - Yes. He is actually by far the most skilled driver of the bunch. He grew up driving in New York so he was forced to learn quickly and got pretty good at it. He got his permit and license the DAY he was eligible and he's been driving a lot longer than everyone else since his birthday is earlier on the school calendar and the driving age in the US is younger than the UK. He got thrown a curveball when he learned that a good chunk of cars in the UK are manual, but he's stubborn and determined to drive so he buckled down and learned fairly quickly. However that New York background means that while he's skilled, he's also very aggressive and impatient. So he can for sure drive during senior year, but none of them trust him because he's American and they're convinced he's gonna drive on the other side of the road and get them killed, even though he won't.
KT - No. She was a little late getting started, she definitely wasn't the type who wanted to get her license immediately, and she was in the process of getting her license when she got sent to the UK for senior year. She briefly considered continuing to learn over there, even if it made her nervous, but once she saw it was manual she noped out of that plan real quick. She'll wait and get her license when she gets back home to the US.
Willow - No. Simply should not be trusted behind the wheel of a car.

knowing that the anubis kids have lived together for years (or like <2 years in eddie/kt/nina's case), I refuse to believe that they never developed crushes on another person in the house (like aside from their respective partners). SOOO do you have any hcs about potential crushes each of the anubis kids could've had? [sidenote: i'm a firm believer that patricia and alfie had crushes on each other as kids, and I will die on this hill 😂]
yes!! i mentioned it briefly here/here but i think it's def possible that mara had one on alfie (i have no reasoning except that it gives off childhood-best-friends au!peraltiago vibes aka 'he makes me laugh' aka v cute) but it was one-sided, and amber/jerome had lil baby crushes on each other at some point as well (also no reasoning for this except for that throwaway post-ping-pong line but also i lowkey love them as a concept?).
i think alfie was the first person Patricia had feelings for but didn't actually realize it until eddie came into the picture and she was like "oh THAT'S what was happening" lmao. alfie basically-canonically had a crush on Patricia during s1 and i think that started probably as soon as they moved into the house but because they became really close friends almost instantaneously, i don't think he ever really realized it, especially because he mentioned amber was pretty *one* time and jerome started incessantly teasing him about that. unpopular opinion though but palfie crushes resolve themselves by mid-to-late season 2.
eddie only ever had eyes for patricia (while at the house) end of story the end :)
kt and joy is basically canon in 3a as well although i think joy gets over it by 3b when sibuna stuff starts ramping up and she's not in it anymore. there's a brief period of time (like a couple weeks max) sometime after amber leaving that sparks seem to fly between joy and alfie, but she convinces herself it's all in her head…it wasn't entirely, let's put it that way.
obviously joy and fabian was a thing on her part, but i do think he let it go on so far because he kinda thought he might like her too, although he wasn't sure. also at the very beginning of high school people started assuming him and mara were a thing (because nerds stick together, right) and lowkey he always assumed it would happen by the time they graduated although he never actually had feelings while those rumors were going around. also something abt how nearly every time he hung out with joy, Patricia was there, and how that complicated things too.
this is slightly off topic but i have this headcanon that there's some point while they're doing victor's chores in season 2 that Patricia tries to explain what went on the previous year with joy to eddie but because she cant actually tell him most of the details she ends up focusing way too much on her own trauma and eddie just kind of goes "that's a lot for someone who was 'just a friend', yacker". now obviously he's teasing (and entirely in good fun, and she knew it) but she can't stop thinking about it. now I'm conflicted on whether or not there were actually feelings there because i love their besties dynamic so much and i 100% want it to stay that way, but idk
tbh. mara and willow shouldve gotten together at the end of s3. that’s also irrelevant to this ask but close enough that im putting it here
OH AMBER yeah no she was definitely into nina in season 2 (if not season 1) and you can't change my mind on that lskdfjl
also i dont think either of them liked each other AT ALL but sometimes i watch a kt/alfie interaction in 3b and wonder if the writers were considering going in that direction. I'm so glad they didn't

Inspired by ZAYNs recent post (which if you haven’t seen by now what are you doing go watch it right now) i have decided to share some of my headcanons on the house of anubis characters feelings towards One Direction. With the show being set during the peak 1D years i’m surprised i haven’t seen a post like this before (maybe there are some but i just haven’t come across the because i’m not very good at social media) Prepare for a very long post as I have thought about this thoroughly.
Amber and Alfie - Definitely obsessive stans. Amber knows all the songs, all the key information about each member and absolutely adores Zayn. She had a full on meltdown when he left the band and had to be consoled by Nina for like a week. Patricia made fun of her (but she was also low-key hurt when he left, more angry than upset because of the stuff that he went through in the band but still sad). Alfie full on vibes to all the bops and gets super emotional when his shuffle plays the sad songs. He goes from 100 - 0 real quick and really gets in his feels.
Joy- A stan also, but more of a low-key stan. Loves them just as much as Amber but isn’t as obsessive as her. She shows her love all the time by having frequent sing along sessions with KT in their bedroom and is always updating people on the 1D news. She was upset when Zayn left, but thought it was right for him and was happy he did what was best for him. She fully supports all the boys in their solo careers.
KT- Isn’t a stan, but loves all the songs and all the boys. Can’t decide whether she has a soft spot for Niall or Louis, but i’m leaning more towards Niall. it just feels more right.
Mick and Fabian - Both aren’t stans and are not even really fans, but they know some songs. They don’t always recognise that a certain song is a One Direction song, but bop to them whenever they’re played. Mick is completely clueless as to who is who in the band and it drives Alfie INSANE. Mick just refers to each of them by their most notable feature. Jerome also gets infuriated by this, but has to hold it in, because he’s a secret stan. Jerome sometimes accidentally exposes himself tho because micks cluelessness just infuriates him too much not to say anything.
Nina- Likes their accent and finds them all adorable. Appreciates their songs. Prefers the slower songs to the bops.
Mara- She has a love hate relationship with them. She thinks they’re very talented and likes some, but not all of their songs. She prefers the more angsty ones, but also likes some of the bops and sometimes sings along sat on her bed while Kt and Jot have their sing along dance sessions. BUT she hates the obsessive fans. She absolutely despises the way some of the act and although she loves Amber hates the love she has for One Direction because of this. She was indifferent when Zayn left and when they broke up. She still has some of their songs on her playlist after they broke up.
Jerome - 2 words. SECRET STAN. This boy is a One Direction stan through and through. He hides it though and would never admit it to a single soul. He was there from the very beginning. He watched their entire journey. He frequently rewatches their journey as a band during X Factor just to feel something. Always makes fun of others in person when they talk about how much they love the band and the songs. He was shattered when the band broke up but hid it well. He frequently searches the bands hashtags on TikTok and Twitter.
Willow- This one was hard because she’s a character thats really hard to pin down so i don’t have much to say on her other than m she definitely doesn’t hate them. I would say she’s just a low-key fan. She like their music and the boys but just casually.
Patricia - I found her a bit difficult too if i’m honest. The biggest thing i would say is she does like them. She’s definitely not a stan or an obsessive fan, but vibes with their music and likes all of their albums. She sometimes (be it forcefully) gets involved in Kt and Joys sing along sessions and by the end gets very into it, although she forces the others not to tell anyone about it. She m has also had a few karaoke sessions where she has sang a One Direction song. She has a special connection with the angsty songs and the ones that have more meaning to them. As well as an extra special connection with ‘ready to run’, because of all the trauma she faced with Rufus and her trauma in regards to feeling locked up, claustrophobic (not in the physical sense) and feeling like she doesn’t have her freedom. She was upset when Zayn left and she definitely had things to say about it. When the band broke up she was upset, but not distraught. She has a dedicated playlist for her favourite 1D songs
Eddie - I left my boi last of all the kids because i have A LOT to say about him. He isn’t a stan, but he’s definitely a big fan. He doesn’t hide it to the extent Jerome does, but he downplays how much he actually likes the band. He definetly makes fun of the obsessive fans, because he just doesn’t understand how someone could be so obsessed with 5 boys that don’t even know they exist. He understands the appeal behind the obsession, because he appreciates that the boys are amazingly talented and that their songs slap, but doesn’t quite understand the obsession. He tries to convince people he only likes the Midnight Memories album and some of the songs from the Four album, because these are the albums that have the stereotypical ‘cooler’ sound but it’s a complete facade. He loves the first two generic pop albums the same way he loves the others and listens to them on repeat. He also has, in the privacy of his room ofc, shed a tear to some of the slower songs. When he first caught himself doing this he made a promise to himself that he would never listen to these particular songs in public in fear of being seen crying to a One Direction song. He has to hold back tears when these songs come on in public when he’s around a group of people. Despite his love of the band and the boys their is one thing he despises about them. He absolutely hates that Americans obsess over the fact their british.
Now to the adults:
Victor - The songs are too upbeat for him and too loud. He’s not a fan, but has some respect for some of the songs. He appreciates some of the lyrics and the boys voices.
Trudy - Not a stan but a fan. a big fan. Finds the boys adorable and definitely has a soft spot for Niall. Definitely definitely jumps in on the sing alongs with Joy and Kt when she’s walking past their room. She consoled Amber with Nina when Zayn left and when the band broke up. She made Amber a special breakfast both times and doted on her. She chastised anyone who made fun of Amber during these, in her words, troubling times. Trudy’s the one person in the house who listen to all of Amber rants about the boys and always gives her the time of day for this no matter what she’s doing.
Mr Sweet - A stan. Plain and easy. One of those older stans who frequently dad dances to their bops and always sheds a tear during their sad songs. He will be front and centre at concerts, waving flags to show his support. Eddie despises this ofc and when in a social setting with his Dad begs people not to play One Direction songs. But Jerome always takes the chance to play the boppiest songs just for the chaos, but he also gets the added bonus of getting to listen to the song himself without letting others know he wanted to. Jerome has to ofc physically restrain himself from dancing, but he has been seen a few times to be tapping his foot along to the song. Mr Sweet was very very upset when Zayn left and didn’t understand how the band could continue, but they did and he was all for it while still holding out hope that Zayn would return. He was very very upset when the band broke up and announced it on the school speakers whilst choking up.
That was fun. Now Anubis fandom and 1D fandom unite.

my hoa ranking of characters — least favorite to favorite
not all characters are on this list but the ones i felt like i could rank as of rn. there’s too many minor characters i don’t care for and it’s not that i particularly care for the others i just remembered them enough to rank.
~~~~~~~~~~
rufus — -70969943853/10
kidnapped patricia. and jerome. and trudy. willing to commit human sacrifice of a kid. threatened them with electric bees or whatever. have had nightmares about him. thrilled that bitch is dead
denby — -10/10
so threatening with her words but she’s all talk. no action. kinda makes me hate her more? but in a different way. storyline is so messy like how did she even find out harriet’s destiny and how did she then decide she wanted to awaken a >hundred year old man and basically a hell demon?? like girl just go work for donald trump or somethin
vera — -6/10
not as annoying as denby but still like what did she even want? to be with rufus? why?!?? creepy af the time she was frozen dead but like not.
mick — 1/10
just,,, there. all he does is be in love triangles and play the sports. half of his storylines are just him leaving. patricia says there’s a man in the house (rufus) and he eats a banana. n who gives their gf and “just a friend” matching bracelets?!? 1 point for not being evil.
victor — 1.5/10
as much as i wanna put him above mick, he yells too much. calm down old man. 1 point for caring for the kids enough to not carry on when he found out about the whole human sacrifice thing. also saving joy in s2. y’know what he gets half a point more than mick.
trudy — 4/10
trudy is heartwarming but holy shit is she oblivious. Is Just Ok with “robert smith” being there even when she has no confirmation of his identity. very loyal to the kids and does protect them from a lot of shit. writers did her dirty a lot of the time.
mara — 5/10
ok listen. i don’t dislike mara. i just tend to favor the sibuna mystery storylines, and all of her stories are more realistic scenarios. that being said i love her helping poppy and i also love the sisterhood thing in s3. but also mara why the FUCK would you fall for mick like he’s mick??!?
kt — 7/10
written into hoa way better than on shows like h2o where there’s just one sentence about emma being gone and that’s that. she wasn’t just nina’s replacement, she was her own person. love her personality and her friendship with eddie. 100% a lesbian. only reason she’s so low is cuz no matter how good she is of a replacement character she still kinda is one and i don’t do well with those. i’m working on it.
nina — 8/10
i love nina so much. fabina is so cute together. i think the only reason i have her so low and don’t wanna put her higher is cuz i always hate main characters, even though i don’t hate nina. my mind is strange.
amber — 8/10
dumb blonde stereotype but who cares i love her. provides much comic relief for me especially in s2. ping pong queen. also love her bday episode. ungrateful for alfie at times. also liked mick but it’s a little more understandable cuz Hot Guy cliche. but was also mean to mara about it. but also a lot of that was mick’s fault #blamemick
alfie — 8/10
class clown who’s loyal af. Actually completes amber’s bf trial list. would go through hell for her. always feeling like he has to prove himself to the group but he’s always been an asset. we love him.
willow — 8/10
was such a comfort character when i was little. for some reason rewatching she was less of one. still absolutely so pure of heart and lovable. somebody get this girl a hedgehog.
eddie — 9/10
cool dude™. top notch bf. peddie is one of my fav ships ever. he kinda gets all heroic in s3 but s3 has a whole set of issues. plot twist reveal of his daddy issues. great development while being a great character the whole time.
fabian — 9/10
such a solid dude. guy-falls-for-girl-first trope to the max. he’s awkward and nerdy but not really cocky or annoying. fabian defense squad for life. point off for kissing joy like dude besides the outfit she looks nothing like nina come on.
jerome — 9/10
terrible person at times, but great character. comfort character of mine. his flaws allowed him to be developed throughout the show. he feels very real and human and i love him.
piper - 10/10
obsessed w her cuz i’m also pretty similar to her. both of us go (went) to music school and love patricia. not that i think she’s a BETTER character than a lot of the characters lower on this list, but this is a ranking of my favs so she has to be above them.
joy — 10/10
also a comfort character. i honestly feel most like joy out of all the characters. similar to jerome in that her character flaws lead to richer development. i live for it. was Literally held hostage by her parents and forced into a cult in s1. most of anubis house seemed to just brush that off. that doesn’t excuse her actions, but i love her growth throughout the series. not higher cuz she was kind of a dick to nina for a long while.
patricia — 10000000000+++/10
again i wish there were an infinity symbol. do i even have to say anything? witty and sarcastic and says what’s on her mind. i wish i were eddie cuz i’m in love w her. i know amber’s the one who went to fashion school, but patricia is a style icon. my gay awakening.
How each HOA character handles their birthday...
I was gonna do this before my bday but had a panic attack that day and like it got pushed off and all the bday talk made me wanna do this..
Amber - We can see she loves her birthday. It's all about her. She loves presents and has a list of ones she finds acceptable. She even gets herself her own gifts. As Amber gets older she continues to turn 29. She refuses to get to 30. Amber while in love with the presents also loves attention and family and friends because it means she's loved.
Alfie - Alfie loves his birthday. Each year his cake request gets crazier and crazier. He is the only one in the house who still has a themed party. It's usually zombies or super heroes or something childish. Presents he gets can usually be found in the toy section of the store. usually gets sick on birthday foods.
Jerome - Doesn't like his birthday. Just doesn't see the fuss. Very much a "Just one year closer to death" kinda guy. They still throw him a party and usually by the end of it he has some fun but not because of the fact it's his birthday, but because he loves a good party. He does however love presents. He asks for cash whenever asked. he likes to enjoy the benefits without the like for the holiday.
Patricia - Another birthday hater. People still make a fuss, especially Joy and Eddie. Joy knows her best friend so well that she plans something Patricia can stomach. Patricia never liked brithdays due to being a twin and always feeling like attention went to Piper more. But her Anubis family makes her feel super loved. Piper always sends her a big card. She isn't much for parties but her friends always do whatever they can to enjoy it best as they can. She's the hardest to get gifts for.
Eddie - This man loves a good birthday. He sees it as a day full of Eddie time. He can slack and nobody yells at him (except Victor who couldn't care less). He also loves the good food. He also uses this to get Patricia to be more affectionate towards him when normally she's not into PDA. She rolls her eyes but still can't fight the whole "But it's my birthday" argument. Stuff with his dad is still awkward though as he missed so many. His mom even far away makes a fuss.
KT - KT likes birthdays but it's mainly because she gets to do fun stuff with her friends. She always request they all go out on the town and have fun instead of a party. She takes pictures the whole night and has a ball. She gets a bit homesick her first birthday in UK but her friends help her best they can to enjoy the day she always loved.
Nina - Nina is a casual birthday person. She's cool with just a "Happy birthday" and some hugs. She was used to just birthdays with her gran which were usually some cake and card games with a few presents. She likes things simple. She also likes how she can take the day to relieve some stress from her duties as chosen one as she isn't even in school at the time. The house group calls her from Joys party.
Joy - Joy plans her own party because nobody else can do it correctly. She makes others help. She says it's a surprise party and pretends it is but it isn't. She fakes surprised at the presents too but she knows what she was getting cause she picked them out. She's all smiles. She's a little jealous about sharing her special day with Nina but with Nina in America she doesn't need to share much. Plans most of the Anubis parties.
Mick - Mick wakes up and forgets it's his birthday. Every. Year. He doesn't care. He knows his birthday if you ask him but it doesn't ever correlate. When he remembers he's like "Sweet." and just enjoys the day ahead of him. He also usually forgets the others birthdays if not told (except Fabian he's special). Horrible at giving gifts.
Willow - Willow loves birthdays. She likes earthly birthdays. She says no gifts, but they pull together some money and make a charity donation in her name. she cries but nobody knows why cuz they were all pretty broke and it wasn't that much. They go to the beach and have a chill day there for her birthday, exactly what she wanted. (think the zoey 101 beach day)
Mara - Mara doesn't care much about birthdays. She's neutral. From a science aspect she see's no significance. From a teenage girl aspect she thinks it's a little special. She is the best gift giver in the house because she spends hours researching. She is good at faking like of gifts even when she hates them (cough Alfie). She has a no funny business rule. Jerome gives her a coupon book where the coupons are for him to go away and it's her favorite gift.
Fabian - Fabian is a shy little guy but he secretly loves his birthday. a bit of a guilty pleasure. He is appreciative of everything. He's smiles all day. He doesn't want a big fuss, just the house. He is always telling people facts about stuff that happened on his birthday and they pretend to care. He gets another copy of the solar system is your friend (signed) one year and actually cries. Pretends to hate but loves the annual birthday wakeup Mick would give him where he would smother him in the bed while singing.
What do you think would've happened if Nina had been in S3 instead of KT ? I know certain things would've changed (I doubt she would've been framed as the traitor and most of the start of S3 would've changed as well, but she definitely would be related to RFS), but what sort of plots would've been part of it? Also, do you think they would've kept the Jerome cheating plotline? Personally, I hated that arc because it destroyed Jerome's character development and isolated the cast.
Okay so Peddie still breaks up. Nina somehow ends up with the key and her and Eddie start doing Sibuna stuff just the two of them because they don't want to risk their friends' lives again. Fabian gets jealous and this eventually leads to a Fabina break up. Nina and Eddie keep getting closer and this connection they have is causing them to have feelings for each other so they have to navigate that (and they definitely make out at some point lmao). They eventually realize they're better as friends/partners and Eddie gets back together with Patricia. I feel like the writers would have had Fabian and Nina get back together too but I really like Mabian so maybe in this world they start getting closer once Fabian and Nina break up and we actually get some build up for them. But Brad also made it sound like they were considering Fabian/Patricia when we interviewed him so maybe they would have gotten together? (I don't know how I feel about that though haha.) Also, Nina would definitely be related to RFS and I don't think she would have been taken as a sinner, though I could see Sibuna thinking she was (just like KT) because she would be the obvious target.
I would also love a world where Jerome doesn't cheat!! Maybe he just realizes he liked the idea of dating Mara more than he actually likes her and they break up? Then he has a quick rebound with Willow and Mara gets upset so she still asks Joy to fake date him and Jeroy still happens.
things we were robbed of in hoa (i feel like most people have already made these points but anyways):
-john clarke and mr.sweet moments (like school stories or rekindling their friendship)
-eddie and jerome bonding
-joy and nina hashing out their issues (and joy really apologizing to nina)
-mr. sweet asking mrs. andrews on a date (“i was wondering if you would like to go to dinner with me....as a date... or not. whatever you prefer)
-mrs. andrews giving eddie some tough love (like bro imagine her getting on eddie for not participating in the newspaper or for acting up)
-victor apologizing to sibuna and sibuna forgiving him and he tears up
-the kids coming to victor for advice or support and him pretending it doesn’t affect him but it really does bc sometimes, just sometimes, these kids look up to him and he feels worthy and needed
-i said it once and ill say it again: victor and trudy giving the kids “the talk”
-nina and patricia teaming up for something and realizing they work really well together
-fabian snapping at nina bc goddamnit he is trying his best (fabian snapping in general)
-jerome and alfie having a fight
-alfie and patricia acknowledging they are each other’s best friend
-PIPER AND PATRICIA HAVING AN ACTUAL TALK (im very passionate about this)
-piper content in general
-amber having an identity crisis
-a task where they can’t pass until they all 100% trust each other and expose their deepest secrets
-b a c k s t o r i e s
-flashbacks to before season 1 and how things were before
-mick finding out about the mysteries but years later
-college talks
-eddie and patricia being a dynamic duo and being hella productive
-(ik im biased towards patricia bc i relate to her so much so these could be just for me but) patricia getting tired of everyone thinking she’s going to fail or she’s mean 24/7. also sibuna sticking up for her.
-fabian and alfie debating about aliens
-friendships with other houses
-more kt and patricia friendship
-school spirit weeks
-more family events
-jerome being more involved in sibuna
-mr. sweet and eddie having more father-son bonding moments
-trudy comforting the kids and making them their favorite food
-birthdays
this one is more serious (possible tw)
i kinda wish we saw a sudden death of a student or a tragedy happen to a student.
i know this sounds weird, but its something i’ce gone through a lot. my school had a suddent death of a student almost every year and we had a lot of tragedies happen. when things like this happen, it really shakes a school, and it brings people closer together -in my personal experience. i don’t wish upon anyone should go through a death of a peer, bc it really hurts and my heart goes out to anyone who has gone through this. in my junior and senior year, 2 classmates of mine passed, and while i wasn’t extremely close with them, i had close friends that were. i’m not going to go into great detail because i don’t want this to be really long or upsetting, but their passings really changed how my friends and i view life, and at the time, it brought us closer together. i think it would have been interesting to see how a tragedy outside of anubis would have affected it. (if anyone wants, i can make a post about this in greater detail)
House of Agendas/House of Keys
hoa research season one episode 4/5
we begin with patricia’s defiance, always a nice start
“you’re mick” “yup”
why does like everyone in england have to take french?
wwvbd
witch really is fabian’s favorite insult huh?
I would’ve really loved to see mick the gladiator
honestly sarah is one of my favorite characters, she’s so cool and i wish i knew more about her backstory
lmao i forgot how violent early mick is
am i the only one who thinks the young sarah painting doesn’t look like nina?
also the locket was given to nina by sarah who said she lived in the house and then they find the same portrait In the house and it takes her three episodes to deduce that the portrait is Of young sarah? ...
on that same note how the hell did they not get that the black bird represented victor????
the police officer creeps me out the most out of all the society members bc of the way his voice sounds during the phone call to victor and for no other reason
lmao I forgot how smug victor is in the beginning before he becomes the unraveled mess we know him as
mick just takes the wholeass fruit bowl and no one questions
okay so I might just be an idiot but how would you know if the eighth stair is right up or eight down
awww nina is already becoming besties with amber :)
you see that joy explanation is what you should’ve done in the beginning you dumbasses
aww fabian in his self-righteous-let’s-manipulate-jerome business, that’s the best fabian right there
“jerome has smth he wants to tell you” “no I don’t actually” quality
sparkly box
I would Love to get a shell, why is she so disappointed until she warps he almost died, esp bc she’s obsessed with aesthetics like shell is pretty
“that settles it I’m excited”
YOU SHOULDVE HAD JOY SAY ALL THAT IN PERSON BEFORE SHE LEFT AND THEN ALL OF THIS WOULDVE BEEN AVOIDED
who uses text speak in emails??? weirdos
rip mara lmao 14 times is a lot to hear the same story in a row
I would be Terrified to pry open the floorboard when he’s Right There
lmao fabian just fucking trips nice going buddy
oh my god she’s so loudddddd hush up you didn’t need the wholeass tool get just like a screwdriver or smth
also that would hurt so fucking bad like ouch rip victor this one (1) time
I love trudy everytime she thinks there’s an intruder she graps some scrubber or smth as a weapon
I once again state why was the stealing of the key necessary and why was the returning of the key delayed when she knows how to pick locks???
this isn’t my favorite episode this season but it does have some nice points, like patricia going to the police and jerome eating his words lmao
Another ghost AU
Okay the premise for this one is sort of a what if they figured out Nina was the chosen one and performed the ritual, but its also an AU.
KT, Eddie and Willow move into a boarding house for the prestigious Ankh school. They notice there are a lot of awards and items in the school dedicated to a group of students.
It turns out that on the 7th of July, around 50 years ago, these 7 students were discovered dead. The cause was believed to be poisoning as the students were all from the same house and the two surviving students admitted to having skipped meals at the house that day. The house mother was arrested and sentenced for murder, despite rumours that she was innocent.
The truth of the tale is different:
An ancient Egyptian artefact was believed to have power beyond scientific knowledge, and, once assembled, was said to grant immortality. However, nature must maintain a balance, and for every life extended, another has to be cut short.
Despite all their research, the Secret Society were not aware of these consequences, or most likely were at some level but chose to ignore it. So, when the ritual took place and life was transferred, they had what they wanted, but at a cost.
The Immortals:
Victor Rodenmaar. Location unknown. Has been off the grid for 25 years after vanishing one night in the middle of the school year
Daphne Andrews. Still a teacher at Ankh. Taught many student's parents and has said she will retire next year for the past 20 years
Eric Sweet. Eddie's father, and a man he's always admired and looked up to. He's not what he seems, and is a lot older than Eddie believed.
Mercer, father to one of the lost students. Has realised immortality is not all it's cracked up to be. Having lost his wife 10 years ago, he lives a lonely life and regrets ever joining the society and offering up his daughter.
Jason Winkler. Joined due to degenerative illness, hoping this would be a cure. It was, and he lives a mostly happy life, when he can forget what part he played in the tragedy.
Doctor Delia. Now the CEO of the local hospital, she's experimented with her immortality, to see if there is a way to transfer part of her life to a patient. It took a lot of work, but 11 years ago, she finally had some success. 14 year old Sophia was fatally injured in a car crash, and Dr Delia used her blood in a transfusion, saving the girl.
Rufus Zeno is the final immortal. It was supposed to be Roebuck, but Rufus broke in and threatened the Chosen One, unless he got what he wanted. Wanting to save the girl, and being the only one who hadn't drunk from the cup, Roebuck sacrificed his chance.
(Had he known the girl would die anyway, it might have been different)
Rufus is out there, somewhere, and he's dangerous.
Back to the story:
(Idk what the plot really is but here goes)
The trio (Eddie, KT and Willow) discover the students used to live in Anubis House.
One night, they're playing truth or dare with their housemates: Stella, Marco, Anna, Raf and Peter. KT is dared to go down into the cellar, where she finds a secret panel. Behind it, she finds 7 balancing scales, an intricately decorated cup, and an empty bottle.
The scales have discs with names written on them. The names match those of the 7 students who died. However, the discs are only on one side of the scales, suggesting there were 7 more previously. KT takes the bottle to prove she went into the basement, and something compels her to take the discs as well, which she shows to Willow once they're back in their room.
They let Eddie know about it the next morning and the 3 begin to wonder if the students' deaths were really as they seemed.
Eddie is walking up the stairs when he trips on a loose floorboard. Annoyed, he goes to try and put it back into place when something catches his eye. It's a metal disc, tarnished with age. He cleans it up and sees the word Zeno printed on it.
He tells KT and Willow, and KT realises it must be from the scales she found. Something doesn't feel right, so they decide to investigate.
Eddie jokingly suggests they hold a seance, and despite Willows warnings, they do.
It doesn't seem to work.
The next day, Willow discovers an intruder in the house, someone who looks very similar to photos in the school...
Willow is unnerved but curious, so she says hey to them. They turn around, apparently spooked that someone can see them, and vanish.
Willow tells the others, who initially disbelieve her, but soon they come to meet the former residents of their boarding house.
The ghosts were obviously affected by their own deaths, and the fact that they're ghosts, but it's been 50 years now, so they're getting over it. They generally try to stay out of the students' ways, as they learnt that people generally freak out at the sight of ghosts.
They appeared as ghosts the same moment their lives transferred to the immortals, but were extremely weak and found it hard to keep themselves together. They were unable to dissipate completely though, something was keeping them there. They had to watch as Trudy was arrested; as their house was put out of action till an increase in students forced them to open it again 15 years later; as Victor still wandered the halls; as all the students came and grew and left while they were trapped in the house.
Unable to die, but unable to live.
Slowly, they began to gain more power, and for the past 10 years they've been able to hold a corporeal form for lengthening times, meaning they can actually do things and go places. They're capable of leaving the house for short distances and periods of time, though if they're out for too long they fade away and reappear back in the house with a killer headache.
They think (hope) this means the immortals are weakening, but it could just be they're getting used to the whole being dead thing.
Their lives were tied to the balancing scales and the person on the opposite side, so they each have some connection to an immortal
This means they get fleeting impressions/feelings from their immortal, which strengthens with their proximity.
Connected Immortal and Ghost:
Rodenmaar - Nina
Sweet - Fabian
Andrews - Amber
Delia - Alfie
Roebuck/Zeno - Jerome
Mercer - Joy
Winkler - Patricia
Amber gets the most impressions because Ms Andrews still teaches at the school
Nina and Jerome receive hardly any because both Zeno and Rodenmaar are unknowns
However, recently they've started getting fleeting emotions and visuals that aren't their own. The two missing immortals are becoming active and they're heading for the house.
The ghosts can't do much on their own so Eddie, KT and Willow have to be prepared to discover what these two immortals want and put a stop to it.
Eddie finds out that his dad was once Eric Sweet (he chose a different name after leaving the school, to distance himself), the former headmaster of the school and is horrified by the part he played in all this. A confrontation goes down.
There's a bit where they track down Mick and Mara, now in their 60s, and bring them back to Anubis House to reunite with their former housemates. It would be a really emotional scene because while most of them weren't close, you can't live in close quarters with people for a long time, without forming a bond. And when it ended so abruptly with no goodbyes...well.
They also track down the other immortals and bring them to the house to face their ghosts (literally). Ms Andrews regrets it immensely; Delia has no (some) regrets, but argues she's able to save many more lives this way, Jason is in denial.
Don't imagine immortal!Mercer finally seeing his daughter again, only she's a ghost and he caused her death. He's full of apologies, but they're all based around how he missed her, not how he cut her life short.
There would be a lot of regret and grief all round, and anger on the ghosts' part.
While Trudy probably wouldn't be alive after all this time, the trio and the ghosts want the immortals to clear her name.
Zeno and Rodenmaar arrive at the house. They're both searching for an ancient artefact hidden in the house.
(Is it the mask? Is it the Book of Isis? Robert Frobisher Smythe? Who knows? Not me.)
They also want to try and end the other because, why not. Grudges can last forever.
The trio also meet Sophia at some point, who is undergoing weird transitions as a result of the blood transfusion. Her body is fighting it while also trying to embrace it, and it causes her to randomly absorb life/energy from plants or other people. She can also transfer energy to other beings, but this causes her to collapse. She also still looks 14 when she should be in her 20s by now. The trio befriend her and try to figure out a cure.
While their existences are tainted with regret and bitterness, the ghosts still make their own fun. Sometimes they'll pull pranks on unsuspecting students, or just sit in the back of the class room to listen to the lessons like they're students again. They know for a fact Ms Andrews hasn't changed her curriculum in 50 years and can now recite her lessons by heart. They also like to play games in the house like tag or hide and seek, and they will admit its more fun when you can phase through walls.
When they reveal themselves to the trio, they enjoy tormenting them, but also help them with their games nights, charading the answers behind the other 5s backs. Everyone's had near misses with the 5, but somehow they remain oblivious to the SEVEN GHOSTS living in their house. But then again everyone else is oblivous to the fact the 5 are on some Arthurian quest.
I don't know how this story would end, but the best outcome is that they fight Zeno and Rodenmaar, and some truth comes out that Rodenmaar has discovered a way to reverse what was done and needs an artefact from the tunnels to conduct the ritual. Zeno, meanwhile has discovered another ritual that would give him the power from the other immortals to essentially make himself a god.
Naturally, both are trying to stop the other from achieving their goals.
Initially, KT, Eddie, Willow and the ghosts (and Sophia) attempt to stop both parties, but when they discover Victor's plan they work to take down Zeno. Once he's subdued (taken down by Sophia draining his energy), they summon the other 5 immortals.
Some of them take some convincing, but others are all too ready to give up this immortal life. They get time to tie off loose ends. Ms. Andrews hands in her resignation, Delia entrusts someone (Sophia?) with her work, Mercer has a long talk with his daughter, Eric has an even longer talk with his son. Victor spends his time in Anubis House, telling the kids his story and apologising for taking so long to fix his mistake.
Eventually, the ritual takes place, and the next day sees 7 new students enrolled who look uncannily like the students in the pictures.
(It takes them a while to adjust to the fact they can't walk through walls anymore)
