#personality. i do sometimes think gyuhan biased people can tend to skew in the weirder stan territory which is a majority of newer fans.

totally agree with your blurb on svt in terms of each members strengths/weaknesses but the point on not taking gyuhan biased people seriously is so funny to me cause in my experience people bias those members mostly because of variety and personality vs talent. not everyone considers like...individual musical talents as a main factor in who to bias in a group sometimes you just like someone cause theyre goofy. since kpop is a multifaceted industry anyway i dont think the variety and personality side of it is something that shouldn't be considered and more often than not theyll concede that their biases arent the strongest singers etc in the group yknow? (well, barring the truly delusional ones but thats a whole other thing) anyway. just enjoyed the discussion so i thought id add my thoughts there

anon, i appreciate the insight and anything to add to the conversation! i also think variety strength or personality is something why you can have a bias or love seeing them. with jeonghan and mingyu i feel like they need a little more exposure of that part of them to hit for me in the same way, say, seungkwan does as someone who is truly a variety idol to his blood and who gets more opportunities for that. i also think with people like jeonghan, he’s not the best singer or dancer, but he adds lovely parts to vocal unit songs especially and even when he and joshua are lead vocals only, unlike in many groups they sing more than decently and the entire vocal group can sing and harmonise with each other quite well.

with mingu it’s a little trickier for me — i know most people notice him first because he is that outstandingly handsome and a lot of casual fans only care about him for that. i think he adds a lot to their concerts and the general dynamic of the group, even when he is one of the weaker members when it comes to musical effortlessness so to speak. he has his strengths and i feel like some mingyu (or gyuhan) stans forget about those too sometimes when all they care about is how they look. also indeed svt stans are often times realistic about their biases in a way a lot of other stans of popular members in other groups aren’t. i think it got worse with the recent influx of fans but i usually meet people who are just very sweet and a little insane about their biases (who isn’t?) while still being normal.
