Today I post about me... ... We follow so many people on social media but what do we know about them? Only what we see! . I want you to know me and who I am, why I do what I do. . I'm a mother of 3, and 43! I LOVE that!! My 1st job is being a mother! I'm married to my beautiful amazing wife! That's my 2nd job! They both require 24hrs, 365 days out of me! . Then I became a personal trainer because surprise I LOVE helping people! I also love being healthy and always worried about how I look. . Now, personal training requires also a lot of time, you should be available to your clients when they need you, you need to be reaching out to clients to check in on them. You should be seeking new potential clients that need your help. It's just a non stop life, it's a lifestyle! . All the above is what has made me what I am today. What you dont see and what I dont share is the struggles inside that because of all the above I am able to push out and fight through each and everyday! . My point here is that what you see on social media is only the good days and the positive stuff, but in reality there are MANY of us that battle something in life that isnt all positive and good everyday. Some share it but most dont, so know that if that is you who's struggling with something in life, you are NOT ALONE! Ever! Dont let all those fake smiles make you think their lives are perfect, NO ONE is perfect! BUT, you can make it better! . #life #live #you #youvsyou #selfworth #happiness #hope #semicolon #iam1stphorm #1stphorm #legionofboom #trainer #lifetips #anxiety #depression (at Bloomfield, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/By43XXGjtbJ/?igshid=1y1fcpo5wqvi8

THE BEST OF TIMES AND THE WORST OF TIMES
Wow! This week was definitely challenging, but this too shall pass. Have you ever thought someone was just looking for a reason to hate you? Ugh, me too. That's what I've been dealing with this week, it's been a big trigger for me. Just one of those times everyone where you CAN'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU THINK! This week reminded me just how much words can disrupt your peace, if you allow it. Anyway, back to my story.
So, the next several years had many different obstacles to overcome, but not all of my childhood was bad. We spent 6ish or so weeks in Florida every summer with our grandmother, Mona, our cousins, our aunt Jodi and her husband, Joe, and our aunt Gina. These are some of my fonder childhood memories; going to the beach, having pranking wars with Jodi, spending day after day at Disney, going on all sorts of field trips, watching musicals and The Birdcage with Mona, it was like a family summer camp, which is why we lovingly deemed this time "Grammy Camp".
Every year we looked forward to Grammy camp, and we revered our Grammy, and I especially looked up to my aunt Jodi (she is also the person who told me the truth behind my childhood memories that I spoke about in previous blogs), she was my person beyond my mom. One of my favorite years was the year they came to Iowa. We went to the Ashfall Fossil Beds, stayed in teepees under the stars, and my cousin, Josh, and I honed in our awesome roller-skating skills on the ramp we had set up in the backyard. We also went to the Henry-Doorly zoo, Dirk even came on this adventure. This was one of the best summers I had! It wasn't until later in life that I was told why they came to Iowa that year, instead of us going to Florida. Mom knew who they were, way before I even had the slightest idea. After Grammy Camp was over, Mona, Jodi and the rest of them would basically disappear until the next holiday where we got a call and gifts. Not that we didn't feel loved by them, at the time, because we did, we just didn't understand conditional love from family, so we couldn't fathom the things that were to come.
During the summers, we also spent about a week with our mom's parents, my grandma and grandpa Horn in Bloomfield, IA. These times were always full of love, laughs, good food, the pool and friends. My grandparents had purchased a pink bike with a banana seat and a white basket on the front for me to get around town with my friends. I also spent time with my great-grandmother, Berniece, whom I absolutely adored, and we called her Gram. We would rent horror movies and I would sleep in her satin nightgowns, and although she had two other bedrooms, I always slept with her and her dogs, Jojo, an American Eskimo, and when she passed away, Gram was gifted a golden retriever, whom she named Tess. Family time was always my favorite time, which is why at the age of 12 again, I decided it was time to meet my paternal grandfather.
My Grammy and grandfather (Gene) had divorced long before I was born, and at age 16, he and Dirk got into an altercation and they went their separate ways, not talking for decades. Well, one day we received a call from Grammy, and she told me that grandfather had almost been killed by his farm hand, who had accidentally ran him over with a tractor. I decided this was my time to reach out, to know who my grandfather was and where I came from, so I asked for his phone number. I called him and had a wonderful talk with him, and we decided that I would fly to Little Rock, AR to meet him and his wife, Laura. A few weeks later, I landed in Arkansas and walked off the plane looking for two people I had never met. I was greeted with two smiling faces, one holding a sign that had my name beautifully written on it, her tiny frame topped with golden hair beautifully curled on the top of her head, and the other holding a handful of balloons, his large frame softened with a big smile and kind, light blue eyes.
When we arrived at their home, I was in complete awe, it was basically a ranch style resort, complete with Arabian horses, a gorgeous main home, a tennis court, inground pool etc. I couldn't believe it! I had a wonderful time with the people whom Dirk had demonized for my entire life, but I was finally connected to my grandfather, my family. After that visit, the rest of my family decided to go down together so that Dirk and grandfather could reconnect. They were inseparable from that time on, calling each other almost weekly, and we spent holidays in Arkansas, and made wonderful memories, for the most part. Every dream has a dark side, even in this world.
When I was 16, my grandparents invited me to join them and Jodi in Lexington, KY for one of the biggest Arabian horse events in the nation, the Pyramid Society's The Event. I was thrilled to be apart of this world, this world of opulence and beautiful horses, beautifully dressed women and horses that cost more than some homes. It also came with monsters and predators. Our passes gave us access to the patron's lounge, which Jodi and I decided to go to two evenings during that first trip. The first time, Jodi was obliterated after just one scotch and water, more than likely drugged by the bartender, which should have been a red flag, but we decided to go back again the next night, with my grandparent’s world renowned horse trainer, who was in his 40s. They proceeded to allow me to drink, as there was no one else in the lounge that evening. I clearly remember the drink that the horse trainer kept pouring down my throat, it was called a Duck Fart (weird I know, but I remember it being a very good and creamy drink). I drank so much that I don't remember that night, but I do remember waking up in the horse trainers hotel room, which was in the La Quinta, NOT the Residence Inn where we were staying. I was terrified. He was awake and asked if I was ready to go back to my hotel, I just shook my head yes and grabbed my things. I told Jodi and her response to me was "Do not tell your grandfather, he will kill him", once again pushed aside after being assaulted, once again being told that this man was more important than my body, but this would not be the last time. It happened the next year with a different man, who was invited to our room to give us both massages, yet another time what someone else wanted superseded my well being. This would tear my mind apart for years after.
These things all shaped my perception of the world, how I responded, and how I felt about myself, as well as society as a whole. I looked everywhere for acceptance, love, any shred of normality that I could find, and I made some horrible decisions during that search, which I will get into, I promise. I can't be authentic without sharing my downfalls as well.

Gesundheit! Fitness, Weightloss, Wine, Dessert and Clarity in Europe
While we borrowed “gesundheit” to mean good health when someone sneezes, it translates into health and fitness. Speaking of foreign countries and trasnlation, visit this article if you need to Professionally translate a document.
Why am I worried about gesundheit? Well because I barely made it to London, England on April 17th, before I had to jump on a plane to Vienna, Austria. Day one in Vienna I found myself in the gym at the Le Meridien dancing with my eyes closed to Tony Braxton and Loon’s “Hit the Freeway”. I had just finished weights and a bunch of other exercises and dancing was my reward to self for working out while on vacation in Europe. What was I thinking? I should be drunk off cheap wine or gin spritzers and stuffing my face with schnitzel!
Instead… Ich habe mich auf Reisen der Gesundheit verschrieben. (I was committed to health while traveling.)
When I missed my flight to London, I thought for sure my vacation started and stopped in that one moment. It was 4,000USD to change my premium economy ticket! That didn’t even include the change fee, smh.
I had carefully planned everything. I knew exactly what snacks I was bringing for Curry puppy and I packed all his food and snacks two days in advance and placed in the back of the X5. I checked with my nephew to see if the Trader Joe’s is still in West Hartford, Connecticut so I could buy his extras and I crossed him off my list. I was headed to CT so I can leave Curry while I chased clarity in Europe.
I woke up super early and packed my suitcase, Curry’s toys and bed in the car. As soon as I was about to leave, I let him outside to pee and he ran off to Charles’ house. Okay, I can dig. At 4am I didn’t want him running over to Trenton Place to Higgins’s house (his bestie), so him running next door was cool. Curry puppy was always trying to run off somewhere, it’s his little game he likes to play with mommy. A dangerous one at 4am. I got him back. Packed him in the car and I checked off him, my luggage, water, healthy bars for me to eat on the ride so I wouldn’t stop on the New Jersey Turnpike and buy junk. Check! Check! Check! It was the perfect pack.
I drove 6 hours to my sister’s house. I gallivant for a few days. Played electronic UNO with the kids ‘til late at night. Even decided since I had time on my hands I might as well get my hair done. Check!
Now, it’s super hard not to eat unhealthy at my sister’s house. Real Jamaican food being cooked here. Curry chicken. Rice and peas. Oxtail. Jeez. I feel like I’m in Jamaica for the first leg of my trip. Just pure yummy Michelle food. Resistance is low in Bloomfield, Connecticut. I went to Trader Joe’s and bought 4 cases of water to counteract any craziness. Check! It’s important to know I don’t practice deprivation. I eat. Weight loss happens regardless. Mainly because when I’m home I’m strict. I’m on vacation. Live a little. Check!
I was so relaxed. Then comes departure day. Or night. It was dark out. I woke up at 2am. Exhausted I just went to bed at 1am. Why won’t I sleep? Ugh. I woke my nephew up. We had to drive to JFK for my 7:55am flight. But as soon as I got up to leave, I knew. I knew I had forgotten my passport at my home in the safe, 6 hours away in DC. I looked at the time and I looked at my nephew and I wanted to cry. I had the whole weekend. I could have driven to DC and back, or even had my passport FedExed. Man, oh man. Alright. No point fussing. Let’s figure this out. How? Passport is required. I was screwed.
British airways didn’t open until 7am!!! Wtf. I’m definitely panicking now. Okay. Okay. Doesn’t matter. Life goes on. Two days of stress eating crap, I was sure I put back the 10lbs I had lost at my weigh-in at the weight loss center. All day and I barely drank any of the water I bought. I finally sorted it out and I got on a plane two days later and made a commitment to get my shit together. My weight loss shit together that is.
The point of the back story is nothing ever goes as planned. Life happens. You have to be prepared. I actually thought that in October when I jumped on this weight loss journey that being conscious of my emotional eating and my triggers would always make me prepared. Stress eating? No problem. I had it under control is what I thought to myself. I keep watching the weight drop because I was focused. First it was only diet and mind games for 3 months with light walking. Me and my trainer agreed to delay starting so I could ease my body of some of the weight so I am not discouraged by the workouts. I already hate the gym.
The idea was, if I felt too much pain then I would associate it with the gym and get discouraged, or plain whole STOP. Like I had done in the past. I was playing so much psychological mind games with myself. Shit I didn’t even need to do that when I was eating the food that put the weight on in the first place. Crazy, right? But clearly forgetting my passport and dealing with that stress and being in a trigger environment in Connecticut was too much to handle and I realized we are never fully prepared. It’s what we do next that matters. I was stressed because I needed this vacation – this thought trip. My soul yearned for it. And I had carefully and thoughtfully planned it. I had to go.
It was a photo from my family reunion that encouraged me to get moving. I’ve never battled too much with self-esteem so I never once looked in the mirror and saw an ugly face, but I definitely wrestled with what fat I would cut off and, where, if I could just take a knife and do it. I took one look at me in that pink dress in that photo and I realized that night I had to put on flip flops because my ankles were swollen from the 6-hour drive to Connecticut from DC. I also looked at the dress and my belly filled out so much of it I couldn’t wait around to have that heart attack most black people have in their 50s. While my face looked super young and people think I’m anywhere between 28 and 35, I was turning 43 that coming January and I needed to finally make a change.
In October 2018, I became super focused and I went to a weight loss center and lost 30lbs quickly. My joints felt good. I went to the trainer and we decided on one day a week. It seems like nothing but it has been so effective. I started to build a relationship with fitness that I hadn’t have in a long time. We are now at two to three days a week.
Bill Walker at Balance Gym in DC and I do weight training with kettle bells and resistance weights. He is the best trainer I’ve ever had. And I’ve had several. Sometimes I get through the time and I’m like that’s it? And he’s like well done. Now don’t get me wrong, Bill makes me feel like I’m going to die with every workout lol. But I say “that’s it” because for the first time I’m actually enjoying my workouts. I want to show up. I can only attribute that to Bill and his style of training. Never the seller, more focused on my care and my outcome. I have a left knee injury, a back injury and carpal tunnel in my left hand along with a strained right ankle from surgery. But Bill is so knowledgeable in joint and muscle pain that we would shift the workouts depending on what ailment I was having. It was a no brainer when I decided to sign up for a full 6 months of training.
I found my way out of Connecticut on an American Airlines flight and my first stop was London. I got to Heathrow late. I ate something light when I got to Misha’s. I slept the next day. Sleep is so important when you’re trying to lose weight and I don’t get enough of it so when I can, I do. I am naturally an insomniac. My thoughts and ideas flow better at night. This is either true or we insomniacs think so and have fully convinced ourselves of it :-).
I ate one boiled egg and a toast and salami for breakfast. The salami wasn’t the best option but I drank lots of water. Have to keep my ankles skinny especially after flying. My ankles always swell. Ugh. I watched a movie. Lounged and took another nap. Apparently, I was exhausted. So much drama with the airline and flight. I finally got up put on my gym clothes and decided to walk the streets of London and people watch. This is how I get my exercise when there is no gym. Getting my steps in. I actually love that about UK and Europe. Walking is so easy. And people are funny to watch. The pubs were already packed. It was a holiday weekend and they started early on that pint of Guinness.
The thing is, vacations and weight loss are not synonymous because we want to cheat. We have garnered this idea that being on vacation means we have to binge eat and stuff our faces with the worse foods. My goal was to taste everything. But I wasn’t planning on being stuffed. If I was stuffed, I couldn’t walk and I couldn’t people watch. What’s the point of being on vacation in a food coma? I actually like to see and explore the places I visit.
I made soup and festival for dinner and had a beer. I drank more water. The next day I was on a plane to Vienna. After getting sick on schnitzel I knew I had to be careful with foods in Vienna. Everything seems fried or processed into sausages. So, I made sure there was a salad or something light at every restaurant we dined, so I can have a healthy option. I drank plenty of water. I never shy away from desserts or alcohol but I’m not naturally a dessert eater so I don’t always indulge. But alcohol – definitely. Wine was cheap in Vienna and though not as cheap, gin spritzers were a “thing” and very delicious.
I told myself I had to work out at least once in every city I traveled to. With Misha, I was going to walk more than the average person anyway. We did over 12,000 steps a day. But I craved my Bill exercises. I went into the basement of the Le Meridien and was elated when I saw kettle bells. Great gym. I had my Bose headphones and I blasted some hip hop and rap and got to it. After my Bill reps I stretched. I was amped. Feeling good about myself I put on some hip hop and danced my ass off. I danced for another 20 minutes. I drank more and more water. In case you haven’t noticed, besides alcohol, I only drink water.
Misha and I walked so much I could hear the weight say, “I give up” and got off the next train stop before I could. We rode the train and walked everywhere. We went to Schöenbrunn Palace and got lost in the maze and even took unforbidden photos inside the palace. We visited the Jewish Museum and saw some amazing exhibits including that of Arik Brauer. We saw a horse show at the Spanische Hofreitschule Riding School and watched an opera, which left me singing “Nichola” the whole night. It was the only word I could remember since the language eludes me. We ate Art on a plate at the Pramerl and the Wolf in Roseau, Vienna. We took photos by the Hofberg Imperial Palace and we ate dinner at one of Vienna’s oldest restaurants. We had wine and downed calamari and mussels at Naschmarkt. We ate street food in Vienna City Centre. We did so much I can barely remember most of it. Like I said, I was with Misha and we did 12000 steps or more a day.
Misha went back to London and I went off to St. Julian, Malta. The first day was chill. Lazy and lounge. Malta was a breath of fresh air. Beautiful. View outside my balcony was to die for. I could retire here. The Mediterranean Sea looked amazing. Day two was sightseeing and walking. I ate whatever I wanted. No gym. And water was scarce. The water was not drinkable so restaurants don’t offer it up unless you buy. And I hadn’t noticed they didn’t bring any cause me and Kerina were drinking wine and beer. Malta was scenic. I ate rabbit (tastes like chicken), and we sat at the top overlook at City Lounge in Valetta and ate and drank and laughed.
Amsterdam was my reboot. First day we found a treasure right next to the hotel called Dragons Delight. Oat milk latte and avocado toast with scrambled eggs. This is too easy, I thought. Kerina worked out with me first day in the hotel gym, and we walked around Rembrandt Square that night checking out food, nightlife and coffee shops.
My fake henna tattoo from Malta got five Moroccan boys’ attention and I stopped so they could read the Arik Brauer quote I picked up at the Jewish Museum in Vienna. “There was never a manifesto, it simply” just “happened”. I added just to put my own spin on it. We chatted them up for a little bit. I exchanged numbers with one of them and carried on. He thought I was 24. The next day we did 17700 steps walking from our hotel in the Pijp to Museum quarter and Vondelpark. Once Kerina left I made sure I ate well and kept moving.
While I explored Amsterdam some more, I couldn’t give up my oat milk latte. I went to dragons delight daily. Partly because they serve breakfast all day. Yum! Jade, Luca and Jasom are super sweet. Jasom was always checking what else I needed. Jade and I chatted about her bulldog pups back in England, while I went on about missing Curry puppy. But Luca told me they made sure the freshest ingredients were on hand and had monthly specials. This month, I was lucky it was the smashed spicy avocado toast with scrambled eggs. Good healthy food, good hot drinks with non-lactose options like oat milk and good people. I couldn’t have asked for nothing more in the Pijp. Except on King’s day, I watched the orange clothes roll by on boats. I didn’t get caught up in the crowd, but I enjoyed the scenery.
Malaga, Spain was the final leg of my trip and I got there late. This city was mine to enjoy alone. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. The next morning, I hit the streets and committed to a Misha day filled with at least 12000 steps and more if I could. I was going to forego public transportation and use my Chevy two (feet). It was the home of Pablo Picasso. The history of the Moors. Food and wine were cheap. Museums were free. I was determined to see it all. My clothes felt looser and I knew my weight shifted for the better.
Weight loss is at the forefront, but it wasn’t going to trap me either. Not every person over weight eats unhealthily. My cholesterol levels are great. I started clean eating after doing an amazing program with Emmanuel Galland in NYC. Clean eating means my meals are generally wholesome. Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s have been my rock! My problem was always over indulging and emotionally eating, never eating crappy foods like fast foods or greasy foods.
But with any weight loss program, you have to be ready, and it has to be internal. It’s a quest that must be accomplished by you, and you alone can make it happen. What I’ve learned so far and still learning is that consistency is key. Staying on course no matter how discouraged and feeling defeated or giving up is not an option. Those feelings are crap. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Stay on course. Nothing is easy. Keep at it and DO NOT look purely to others for support. While there are resources out there, they are not for everyone; therefore, encouragement has to come from within. Be your own cheerleader. And celebrate every win. Even if it’s small. I celebrated a big (30lb loss) with a trip to London.
I drank plenty of water in Malaga. The perks of being a Marriott Elite member, whatever you ask for you get. They were nice enough to give me more than the 2 bottles per day and so I told them to keep it coming.
I flew from Malaga back to Gatwick and then head to Heathrow where I would stay one night at the Marriott Moxy. Small, efficient and totally eclectic this hotel was noisy. I actually booked it to relax from my trip. However, I walked past a food truck and into the hotel, which had a red carpet laid out and girls dressed skimpily, handing me champagne. Where was I? After checking in at the bar (yes, the bar), I went upstairs, showered, changed and came back down to party. Who needs rest? I danced and chatted all night with a lady from Holland. We listened to a live band with steel drums, watched calypso dancers gyrate hips with practically no clothes on, took photos with a snake, drank free alcohol and ate free food. I was exhausted and hoped I wouldn’t miss my flight back to New York, but getting my exercise through dancing was fun.
When I got back from Europe, I had lost more weight. I had found my clarity while drinking wine and eating dessert, yet still managed to work out and lose weight. I call that success! I’m not encouraging anyone who is trying to lose weight to eat dessert because if it is a trigger then you have to be careful. However, I encourage consciousness, plenty of water, sleep when you can or just rest, walking everywhere, stop often if that’s what you have to do to reboot and hit the gym if your hotel has one, and if you can. Even if it’s just 15-20 minutes of weight training or on the treadmill or bike. Bike if you’re in Amsterdam. And it is a vacation, so enjoy it. I never forego any alcohol. I had wine, whiskey and beer. Food sizes are naturally smaller in Europe anyway so for an American traveler, I was already eating less.
I’ll let you in on a little secret, Vienna was the first time I worked out alone in a gym without Bill. It was quite an accomplishment. It’s definitely a “win” to celebrate and I am very proud of the relationship I have been building with fitness. I celebrated this big win by dancing for 20 minutes (big smiles). I start yoga again very soon. Who knows, my next PR article might be a yoga retreat in Bali.
Whether you’re touring Europe or staying at home and trying to lose weight. Don’t let it define you. Carve out how you plan to do it. Take charge and go for it. Don’t be discouraged by any setbacks. Life isn’t perfect. No such thing. Don’t forget to live your best life. Always. And if you’re an insomniac like me – drink lots of water. Oh, by the way, if in one night you down a whole bottle of wine in Malaga, Spain because you thought it was so cheap, drink more water. And make sure your next trip requires passport. I always do. It’s how I get my clarity. Besides, it’s less fun if you go domestic 😊.
Travel often. Travel well. Until next time – Gesundheit!

The Chase Files Daily Newscap 10/20/2019
Good Morning #realdreamchasers. Here is your daily news cap for Sunday, October 19th, 2019. There is a lot to read and digest so take your time. Remember you can read full articles via Barbados Government Information Service (BGIS), Barbados Today (BT), or by purchasing a Sunday Sun Nation Newspaper (SS).
HEADS TO REPORT ON STEWARDSHIP – Five chairmen from statutory corporations face the public to give reports on their stewardship, at the Barbados Labour Party’s (BLP) 81st annual conference to be held in Queen’s Park. It will be one of the highlights of the October 25 to 27 conference whose theme is BLP 2019 – A Refreshing Change for Barbados. “We’ve asked for the five chairpersons of boards to report to Barbados. It will be streamed to all Barbadians and this is the first time that this has happened at the conference. We are asking the chairmen of the Barbados Port, the Transport Board, the Barbados Water Authority, the Sanitation Service Authority and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital to report on their stewardship and reflect on the challenges, their leadership and direction they are going and just to be part of the idea we are an open, transparent, honest Government,” said chairman of the conference planning committee, Kirk Humphrey at a media briefing yesterday. (SS)
DRIVE TO TAP WIND ENERGY – Barbados’ energy sector is set for major transformation with the introduction of wind energy generation facilitated by the Barbados National Oil Company Limited (BNOCL), in conjunction with the National Petroleum Corporation (NPC). The initiative is expected to reduce energy costs to average Barbadians. The wind generation project funded by the Inter-American Development Bank has commenced with a detailed wind study of key sites through a partnership with Barlovento Recursos Naturales from Spain. It will also involve community outreach and town hall sessions to engage with key stakeholders regarding the initiative’s potential benefits and impacts. (SS)
MARIOTT GOING ELEGANT – Major changes, including a rebranding, hotel sales, and management shake-up, are likely as part of a BDS$260.2 million deal that will see global hospitality giant Marriott International acquire Barbados-based Elegant Hotels Group. But officials of Marriott International Hotel Licensing Company revealed that if Elegant’s shareholders said yes to the sale, the company’s more than 1 100 employees in Barbados would be secure as IHLC “does not intend to make any material headcount reductions within the Elegant Group as a result of the acquisition”. The potential benefits from the acquisition were welcomed by Minister of Tourism Kerrie Symmonds yesterday, who told the Saturday Sun “their interest in making this kind of investment in Barbados is a very clear testimony to the fact that Barbados is again being seen as a destination which is working well, and is worthy of major investments”. (SS)
TURF CLUB SACKS TWO OFFICIALS – The Barbados Turf Club has made two notable changes at the end of the second season maintenance break. Gone are race course consultant Gerry Alleyne, who held the post for just under two years, and paddock and building maintenance consultant Naz Issa. When the third season runs off on November 9, David Archer is the man tasked with filling the roll of track and paddock consultant. Archer who took up the post from last Tuesday worked at Bloomfield as property manager and was manager at Valley Plantation. Both Alleyne and trainer Issa who had replaced Charles Downie following his retirement back in 2017, got their letters of termination last Monday. (SS)
NEW POLITICAL PARTY IN GUYANA – A new political party, promising campaign financing legislation, was launched here as Guyana prepares to hold fresh regional and general election on March 2 next year. The Citizenship Initiative (CI), which has also indicated that it has no intention of joining with either the People’s National Congress (PNC), which is part of the ruling coalition administration and the main opposition People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C), said it intends to change the way issues related to politics are addressed in Guyana. “Our key platform has to do with leverage in parliament. Now to answer the question of coalition, let me say very explicitly now: Our message is that this adversarial politics by the two giants continues to be the primary burden for the development of Guyana. “Coalition is not an option…You can’t say that you have goals that you want to attain, you change the status quo and then join the status quo,” said the party’s executive member, Ruel Johnson. Apart from Johnson, who is the government’s cultural advisor, the other founding members are web developer Shaz Ally, the managing director of a private school, Alphonso de Armas, educator Ronda Ann Lam and business executive, Yonnick David. Ally said Guyana has been looking to find its way since it gained independence in 1966 but has instead found itself marred by ethnic divisions, limited opportunities and questionable leadership. He said Guyana has put power in the arms of two major political parties who have been in control for over 50 years while many of the country’s struggles and problems remain. He said the new party is focused on chartering a better course for all of Guyana and its members would be representative of the entire society. Johnson said Citizenship Initiative, whose symbol is a scale balancing two water lilies, will contest the upcoming elections and if successful, would be pushing for constitutional reform as a priority. He said the party is also focused now on naming Presidential and Prime Ministerial candidates and will address that issue as it rolls out its plans and programmes. President David Granger named the election date after Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo was successful in tabling a motion of no confidence in his coalition administration last December. The PPP had been pushing for an early poll, but the head of state said he would have only announced the date when the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM0 had indicated to him that it was prepared to conduct the elections. TRINIDAD PM SPEAKS OF PLOT TO ASSASSINATE AG – Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has linked opposition operatives to a plot to assassinate Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi and warned the population of Trinidad and Tobago that they should not consider the threats to be a joke. “We have told this country that many of them stole public money and will be held to account. We have been accumulating the evidence through the legal channels and they know that and that’s why one of the first meetings I have had in Whitehall (Office of the Prime Minister) in recent times with the security forces of this country involved is to determine how to protect the Attorney General because persons have paid money to kill him,” Rowley told a public meeting of the ruling People’s National Movement (PNM) here on Friday night. “Understand what we are dealing with in this country. I tell you this not because I am being irresponsible, because I want you to know (and) you can’t say you don’t know. I want you to know because I am the Chairman of the National Security Council,” Rowley added. He reminded supporters of the June 1990 murder of then attorney general Selwyn Richardson, who was shot by unknown assailants as he was entering his driveway to his home, adding “those of you who think it is a joke, let me remind all of you that somebody, somewhere in this country, killed Selwyn Richardson and up to this day that matter has not been solved”. “Let me tell all of you again, who have much to say, desperate people do desperate things,” Rowley said, reminding the meeting of the two attempts that had been made on his life in the lead up to the 2015 general elections. “On two occasions they hired a killer to kill me. The first killer refused and determined that somebody has to know this and went and told a government official. The government official came and told us. We told the police. “While we dealing with that they went and found another one. He too refused and by this time Special Branch (of the police) was involved and Special Branch knew about it. There’s honour among thieves in this country. It appears there’s honour among killers too,” Rowley said. He said that apart from the police, he also had to secure private security and in some instances were being told where he should and should not go because of the dangers involved. “That happened in Trinidad and Tobago in 2015 and they know what they did and they know what they are facing because we have told this country that many of them stole public money and will be held to account,” Rowley said. He warned supporters against “all of them who have your future in hand to bring you this land of milk and honey they have reason to want to get back in office more than anybody else, because only when they get back into office they can kill everything that is live now and that is their primary motivation . . . .” Earlier, National Security Minister, Stuart Young, told the public meeting of the “disturbing” pattern being observed involving known members of the main opposition United National Congress (UNC) and the members of the criminal underworld. Young, indicating that he was coming out of the Parliament where he could have been afforded parliamentary immunity to make the statement, said that he had been informed that “very high ranking members of the opposition, the UNC opposition, at the highest, highest levels . . . are engaging in active conversations and communication . . . with the criminal elements in our society. “You know that in National Security one of the things we did was to pass anti-gang legislation and you remember how hard we had to fight for that to make it a crime in Trinidad and Tobago to be part of a gang and to participate in gang activities. So it is now criminal to be part of a gang, to communicate with gangs . . . that is now a crime in Trinidad and Tobago. “I stand here tonight without fear of contradiction to tell you that at the highest level of the opposition they are engaging the criminal elements,” Young, who is also an attorney said, pointing a finger also at sitting opposition members of both houses of Parliament. CYCLIST SERIOUSLY INJURED IN COLLISSION – A pedal cyclist was seriously injured in a collision along the Oistins Hill Road in Christ Church Saturday evening, police say. Around 5:18 pm the cyclist – identified as 50-year-old Lloyd Cummins of Unity Road, Gall Hill, Christ Church – was riding down Oistins Hill when he lost control of the bicycle and fell. Cummins injured his head in the fall, causing him to lose the ability to speak. He was transported by ambulance to the QEH where medical personnel said he was semi-conscious. Investigations are ongoing. (BT)
MOTHER WANTS JUSTICE FOR SON - Parents of the 11-year-old boy killed by three former Princess Margaret Secondary School students want the full extent of the law to be visited on their son’s killers. This was revealed when convicted manslayers Maria Antoinette Goddard, Doniko Javier Alleyne and Shaquille Shamar Khallel Bradshaw returned to the No 2 Supreme Court on Friday. Goddard, then 12, now 22, of Parish Land; Alleyne, also then 12, of Balls Land, and Bradshaw, then 14, now 24, also of Balls Land, Christ Church, were found guilty, earlier this year, of unlawfully killing – manslaughter – Ian Gibson on September 20, 2009. Principal Crown Counsel Alliston Seale prosecuted the matter. Attorney Angella Mitchell-Gittens represented Alleyne and Goddard, and attorney Arthur Holder appeared for Bradshaw during the trial. (SS)
TWO ON MURDER CHARGES REMANDED – Two St Michael men charged with the island’s 37th murder earlier this month were remanded to prison when they appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday. Christopher Anderson Shepherd, a 20-year-old shop assistant, of Queen Street, The City, and Rio Richian Jelani Malcolm Benn, 28, of Upper Dukes Alley, Nelson Street, The City, were not required to plead to murdering LeAndrew Sharvar Coward, 33, formerly of Field Place, Bayville, St Michael, on October 3. Prosecutor Vernon Waithe later asked that accused Benn be released back into police custody in relation to further investigations. Acting Magistrate Joy-Ann Clarke ordered that Benn be released into police custody until Monday. The magistrate, however, remanded, both he and co-accused Shepherd to HMP Dodds until November 15. FIND ROOM FOR HAYNES – West Indies fast bowling great Michael Holding has urged Cricket West Indies (CWI) not to discard outstanding former teammate Desmond Haynes but to absorb him into the coaching set-up of the men’s team. Haynes, a member of the legendary West Indies sides of the 1970s, 80s and early 90s, missed out on becoming head coach of the regional side last week after CWI appointed his former opening partner, Phil Simmons. However, Holding contended that Haynes still had a valuable role to play and said CWI and Simmons needed to utilise his skills in order to enhance the struggling side’s development. (SS)
CRUNCH TIME FOR WALES – Weymouth Wales and Clayton’s Kola Tonic Notre Dame will be hoping to keep their Capelli Cup hopes alive after their crucial championship stage clash tonight at the Wildey Turf. Both teams have been drawn in a mouth-watering group with University of the West Indies (UWI) Blackbirds and only a victory will be satisfactory if they are to progress to the quarter-finals. One of Wales’ strengths this season has been the quality they have been able to call on off the bench. The Dames’ domestic form has been inconsistent recently but they have shown a strong attacking threat and greater creativity from midfield so far and their improved cohesion should serve them well against a stacked Wales. (SS)

NEW LOCATION FOR BLP CONFERENCE – The Barbados Labour Party’s 81st annual conference will take place in Queens Park this year. Chairman of the conference planning committee Kirk Humphrey said the location was reflective of the refreshed party as it was open, close to parliament and was a venue where founder Sir Grantley Adams laid many political pronouncements. Under the theme BLP 2019 – A Refreshing Change for Barbados, the three day conference being held from October 25 to 27, will feature an award ceremony, speeches, an address from the Prime Minister and a concert where members of parliament will perform. ATTENTION! FOR “SKINNY GUYS WHO CAN’T PUT ON MUSCLE MASS” : Are you following the so called “experts” advice and still not gaining the muscle mass you want fast enough? Frustrated from trying the latest “cutting-edge” supplements featured in the bodybuilding magazines? If so, then you need to listen up because you’re about to…….
Discover The Amazing Secrets Of A World Famous All Natural Pro Bodybuilder That Gained So Much Muscle Mass, Certain Competitions Won’t Let Him On Stage Even Though He Passed The Drug Test!
Learn Exactly How To Pack On 35 Pounds Of Solid Muscle Mass In The Next 90-Days GUARANTEED!
DISCLAIMER: What I’m about to reveal will piss a lot of people off. Supplement companies, bodybuilding magazines, health club owners, GNC, and so called “experts” won’t like what I have to say because it turns the muscle building tables in your favor. Once you discover these secrets you won’t be at their muscle mass building mercy anymore!
From the desk of Mo Mendez
Dear Future Easy Muscle Mass Gainer,
Imagine you had a “paint-by-numbers” formula for gaining muscle at your disposal.
Anytime you wanted to gain muscle weight fast…you’d simply plug in your personal numbers… and presto you’d reach ALL your muscle building goals automatically.
Want an extra 25 lbs. of muscle? Just use the formula.
Going to the beach soon…and you’ve only got 5 weeks? Use the formula.
Want to look good when you go to the pool, club, or shopping mall? Use the formula.
Have your eye on an ATTRACTIVE WOMAN who doesn’t give you the time of day? Use the formula.
Each time you wanted to make a shocking transformation you could go back to this muscle building mass formula again and again.
Oh Man! Just think of the things you could do…
Is A Muscle Building Mass Formula Like This Possible?
If you’d have asked me 3 years ago if a muscle building mass formula like this existed I would have said HE*L NO.
And I’ve yet to see anything else to change my mind.
That is until study after study started coming out showing different tricks and techniques which proved to be very powerful muscle builders that can help you pack on muscle mass.
It started off with the one in the British Journal of Cancer about a simple supplement formula which packed on 6.6 lbs. of muscle on cancer patients–while they were losing weight!
Then more studies came out…
Like the one on how to increase your growth hormone and testosterone levels all naturally (inside your body) with a particular “style” of workout.
I Started To See A Way To Combine The Muscle Building Power Of These Tricks And Wanted To See If An Automatic Muscle Mass System Which Would Work–Even On The Skinniest Of Guys…
A system so powerful it can overcome your skinny genes with the flip of an anabolic switch.
Once “flipped” your body would unleash a flood of muscle building hormones through out your entire body–turning you from a hardgainer to an easy gainer within 24 hours.
And the best part is…the skinnier you are the better this system works.
There’s one HUGE benefit to being skinny the bodybuilding experts, magazines, and websites have overlooked.
And this benefit allows you to use your skinny genes to literally unleash a muscle growing machine within your body.
In the next 5 minutes I’ll reveal to you the muscle mass system that will do just that.
New “Sure Fire” Muscle GainSystem Discovered By Bloomfield, CTMystery Man
First, though, let me introduce myself.
My name is Morris Mendez. You may know me as professional natural bodybuilder. I’m also a trainer of other bodybuilders and I’m happy to say I’ve had some success as one. Not to brag but, I’ve personally helped over 5,000 bodybuilders worldwide with my bodybuilding nutrition, training, and supplement secrets.
Some of my bodybuilding accomplishments include:
But here’s the part about me that will interest you most…
I’ve kept most of my top “breakthrough” secrets to building muscle to myself. I did it because quite frankly it’s one of the reasons other bodybuilders seek me out for advice. My bread and butter so to speak. Revealing these secrets would be like shooting myself in the foot.
But all that has changed…
I’m now revealing all my top muscle building secrets on instant growth of muscle mass.
Why am I doing this now? Because the bodybuilding industry has “sprung up”with a lot of me too competitor’s and I’ve got to up the stakes.
That’s why I am the only person who will tell you these muscle building secrets. I can piss off anyone I want and not have to worry about it. Before I would have to worry about the magazines and whether they would allow my information to be published because it went against their supplement sales, but NOT ANYMORE!
I reveal all my jealously guarded mass building secrets in my new 12-Week bodybuilding system called The Maximum Muscle Mass Program. These are the same secrets used by those on the inside to grow bigger and pack on slabs of muscle quickly and easily without any risk.
I knew that to get my system out to the world I’d need help and that’s when I called on my friend Brian Cannone the owner of FitnessAtlantic.com. Brian read the book over and new it would be a big hit so he agreed to sell it on his Web site. Quite often when I’m at the gym working out people are watching me and come up to me ask me what they can do to get so big. I don’t mind, I love my fans and really appreciate all the support. However the question they ask is not something I can explain in 5-minutes. That’s why I’ve spent the last few years writing it all down, creating a plan that anyone can follow. You want to know what the muscle mass program includes, well read on…
The Maximum Muscle Mass Program is a high-speed weight gain program for skinny guys who can’t put on muscle mass.
The reason it works so well is because it combines nutrition, weight lifting, and supplements into one powerful system.
Here is what you will discover:
Part 1- The Maximum Muscle Mass Nutrition Program
Part 2- The Maximum Muscle Mass Training Program
Part 3- The Maximum Muscle Mass Supplement Stack
A Completely Different Approach To Muscle Mass Development That You Can Use To Pack On Up To 25-35 lbs. Of Muscle In Only 12-Weeks!
Detonate your muscle mass growth rate by tricking your body with these nutrition, training, and supplement secrets:
Morris Mendez has been helping me for years. The same things he has taught me he explains in the book Maximum Muscle Mass. I can vouch that the program, the nutrition, the supplements and everything Mo explains is right on the money. I’m a competitive bodybuilder and I’ve used the principles from this eBook to prepare for many contests. If you want to add some rock solid muscle mass as quickly as possible than this is the right system for you. Just look at Mo’s photos. To get a body like that drug-free you have to know what you’re talking about.
In 12-Weeks I put on a solid 20 pounds of lean muscle without increasing my body fat percentage at all!
