Happy Monday Friends! Work from home can be challenging for everyone but thankful that I have the ability to do so! One of the few days that the hubs is feeling well enough to get out of the house. It’s usually a daily struggle just to get out of bed. So grateful and blessed for days like today. Please keep reading... The long term effects of traumatic brain injuries can be hard to spot and even harder to live with for all involved. If you have a loved one that has had TBI or multiple concussions that can result in severe depression, anxiety, mood swings, anger outbursts, seizure episodes or any of the multitude of issues that can continue to pop up over time...please be patient with them. TBI can change a person even in small ways that you may not recognize as being a result of the injury. What they need is your love and patience because, I promise you, they wish even more than you do that they were their old self. Encourage them and yourself to accept them for who they are now to help take away even a small part of the fear and anxiety they live with daily! Happy Hump Day Friends! In today’s edition of Quarantine Ain’t Killing My Style or Positivity, I’ve made an important wardrobe decision! I would typically never wear a spaghetti strap dress to work without a sweater to cover up. In this new normal of work from home, I have seen people on calls wearing t-shirts, baseball caps, tank tops, hoodies and what I swear is yoga gear. We all know I dress up for work everyday even to work at home, but given how relaxed it’s all gotten, I have made the executive decision to relax my work wardrobe rules too! Starting July off in a new sundress with a color I usually never wear...yellow! New month, new rules, new colors...lots of big things happing here people! Quarantine Ain’t Killing My Style...but oral surgery is definitely trying! Wisdom teeth and a broken molar had to go. Never had to do anything like this before and I gotta say...IT SUCKS! Two pictures both taken today with very different visual messages...but who would guess that the feelings underneath are exactly the same. Picture 1 is what I let the world see and picture 2 is normally only what God sees. This past week has been especially difficult which is why I haven’t really posted much at all. I figured if I can’t even maintain my own @persistenceforpositivity then why should I post anything?? Then I realized that part of maintaining that persistence for positivity is showing vulnerability, embracing my weaknesses, accepting my anxieties, pushing through the pain and fighting through the daily feeling of being tired and broken in order to see the positives in my life! @persistenceforpositivity isn’t about only showing when your happy, or when your faking happy but about learning to appreciate the small glimmers of light in what can be a very dark world. Please don’t be afraid to show your vulnerabilities and flaws...they are part of who you are and they are part of what makes you beautiful. Motivation to get out for my walk today was tough...lots of distractions and things to do would have made it really easy to just skip it...I made myself drive to the lake and said just do a mile and call it done. Happy Hump Day Friends! So, quarantine may not be killing my style or positivity but it’s starting to do a number on my bank account! The online shopping out of boredom and perusing the aisles of Target just to get extra time out of the house are making a dent in the pocketbook.
