why do ppl think BOB is literal and that leland wasn't actually molesting laura 😭 BOB is the cycle of abuse / violence... they literally say it in the show man, c'mon.
#yes leland is a victim too and unfortunately... some victims of abuse become abusers themselves! this is tragic but#they don't get a free pass to hurt people just because they got hurt lmao. a lot of abuse victims do NOT go on to abuse others#but i saw a letterboxd comment (the pinnacle of educated film discussion - i know)that said it wasn't leland but BOB who#perpetuated the abuse. which just goes against every single thing abt how it's portrayed in the original series and fwwm#'it's your father!' IT'S PRETTY OBVIOUS.#i know the series is pretty surreal & ppl speak in layers of metaphors (though it's not that hard to parse really) but laura's molestation#is pretty overtly supposed to portray the horror of incest.
