I saw a black lagoon review were the guy said "since you as the viewer aren't a stone-cold killer, you relate to rock more than to revy" and i disagree. I don't think that you have to be a murderer to relate with all the trauma revy has went trough. Ofc i relate to rock a lot too but i also feel like revy's trauma feels so real especially for women and for women that are part of an opressed minority living in a corrupt city. I think that given the choice, a lot of the women who went through similar shit would go on a crusade for vengeance against the world. At least i often fantasize about it and i haven't even been in a situation remotely similar to that (altho i've had close calls). This is why black lagoon scratches that itch for me, it trully is a female power fantasy anime and im here for it and never get tired of it no matter if i watch it a million times.
