Perfect Love Devlog #42
Hrrgh, okay more art time. I'm working on the scene with PreMilo in his little bunny onesie, but it turns out my brain was like you should add some more cgs so here we are. I ended up doing my favorite thing of drawing a kabillion eyes to symbolize something in the game. This one especially was pretty hard because I also had to draw all of these eyes again for a line boil effect. Fun times!
I am almost done with this scene, which is good. I think that I need to have one or two more CGs I need to draw for this scene and we should be good to go. I may try to do some more eye animations that were showcased on the previous devlog or I might try doing the Poison scene next.

Perfect Love Devlog #40
I'll be going to be camping with family and friends until Wednesday, so I might just skip next week's devlog in that case. I was able to finish Ryan's extra route and I also made something for someone's birthday (cough Pandora) so that's also in the game now I guess.
I was watching a video on how undertale was coded and I got this horrible idea based off of the fun value that Toby Fox did. Well not horrible, but the idea is that you would get a random extra scene that gets rolled when you first open the game. Of course that would mean that I would have to make a bunch of scenes, but considering that I made two of the easter eggs on the menu screen the day before I released the game, well I could probably just make some scenarios for all of the character's interactions. Like I said, horrible idea.
If I have time next week, I'll either do some corrections based on Vivian's corrections or I'l try to do Valli and Gamma's route next. I still have no idea how I'm going to do the holographic look that Gamma's gonna have, but I'll just try it out. I'm really into dredge again though so I'm just going to go back to fishing.

Perfect Love Devlog #39
And back to doing more miniCGs. I actually didn't make any of them for Alpha's route so, I guess this is punishment for that. Ryan's route will be all miniCgs since I think it better showcases the intensity of the route. I've draw a couple of CGs now and I'm about halfway I want to say. I will see if I can get this route done by next week. I think I probably should be able to assuming I don't procrastinate.
Also, big shout out to @darlingkisses01 for sending me corrections for the entire script, you are the best. I will be using those corrections next week (after I finish the Ryan route probably) and spending the week after doing just typo/grammer corrections based on it.
After this I guess I'll be doing Valli's route. I've decided on some glitchy effects and I probably will edit some of that scene so that it makes sense in context of what is going on.

Perfect Love Dev Log #24
I was going to upload this yesterday actually, but the recording system I was using didn't want to work, so today it is. I've been pretty busy hanging out with friends for my birthday ad me rushing to do a bunch of birthday stuff, so I haven't been working on it as hard as I should. Plus I've been like obsessed with people's fanart of this game because you guys are way too good at drawing and finding things out, I'm getting like fanart every day I'm so happy.
Anyways, like mentioned in the previous devlog, this is Emil, Desmond's best friend and person he won't shut up about. I finished making all of the sprites and expressions for him, though I had to go back and forth because I had to resize one of the sprites, and then I had to add in even more expressions and stuff. He has a bunch of the little effects like sparkles and emotes that I spent way too much time animating. I found out about different types of easein and out functions so that get me hooked on transformations again. Like it was way too much time trying to figure out how to get things to move up and down or disappear in a way I want them to. He only shows up in this one scene, so I'm not sure why I'm putting so much effort into it. It's because he's fun to write is why probably, haha.
For his route, I'm going to change up his nametag (the thing that says Emil in it) as well as if you try to quit out since I think it would be cool to have a different guy floating for the extra scenes specifically.
I have to remind myself to rewrite part of the picnic scene with Eris since I feel like Eris's dialogue is a bit wonky. That and some other things like adding in more nicknames/names for things. I think my process will still be doing all the sprite assignments and then working on the sfx/music like I did before. After this scene, I'm going to work on Desmond's scene with his girlfriend, Iya.

Perfect Love Devlog #41
I spent the last two weeks doing nothing but sprites and then I went way WAY too overboard on one of them so that's always a good sign. I was working on some Milo PJs which you can see in this ask here. I actually kind of went overboard on the Milo PJs too, because the scene I made it for is NOT that long, so I might have to reuse it for something else in the game. What can you do, am I right?
The other thing I was working on was some animations for Perfect Milo as you can see above there. I took inspiration from @your-perfect-love's way of animation, but then I went overboard. As of current I figured out a way for it to work through four different sets of animations at random. I might add more if I feel insane enough but it really does look cool in the game, but I'm not sure it fits the stories that I wrote so I'll have to figure out a way for it to be used. Still, it looks really cool and will be in the game in some capacity.
Will be working on the PJ Milo scene next. I've also been writing some of the extra scenes between other characters as well.

Perfect Love Devlog #46
I've been working on a bit on this route, but I got distracted adding a ton of nicknames and whatnot for certain easter eggs. Though I still need to draw a bunch of sprites for them too. My dad is still using my drawing computer to back up some stuff so I had to focus mostly about writing and doing pose assignment. I'm not sure what's causing that weird glitches when the text is like that, but hopefully it will be fixed at some point.
But yeah, I just need to finish up some more of the minicgs for this scene and then do the easter eggs. Next up is either doing some more eye animations or finally doing the Gamma scene that I've been putting off forever.

Perfect Love Devlog #44
I dunno why but it was really hard for me to figure out the proper sprites for Poison, probably because I shouldn't have gone so hard on all of the scars and I want each of the sprites to be individual to each character to show off their personality. So I ended up really focusing on the foreshortening for her. Poison makes an impact and gets what they want, after all.
I've drawn the sprites I wanted for her and coded in her layered sprites, so now what's left is to actually get it all done. I think I still need to draw one or two different mini cgs for this route, but I think with this we will get a better look on how the "deal" between Eris and Poison was made on the Violence Route.

Perfect Love Devlog #43
Yeah so remember when I said I was going to do Poison's route next? Yeah, I lied. I got distracted and I did a bunch of other things (also my friend kept hanging out with me this week, which is really fun, but it doesn't leave me with a lot of time to do stuff for the game). This one is actually tied to Devlog #41 with the eyes, but I had to hide since I don't want people to see the rest of the animations I did (or might do later).
Anyways, I will try to actually do Poison's route next and if I have time maybe do some more easter eggs. I'm probably aiming for maybe two more Poison Sprites to work with just in case I need them for later stories.

Perfect Love Devlog #27
This week has kind of been hard for me, both in the fact that I got sick at least twice this week and the fact that emotionally, I'm just in complete chaos and turmoil, so I'm glad that the goal this week wasn't too hard, since it was just make some more emotions for Desmond's sprites and then one more base sprite. He matches Iya, that's kind of cute, right?
I'm still missing those mini CGs for Emil's route, which I'll see if I can get to tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be too bad since it's just draw them and them plop them into the game, though I have to look at my sketches again and see if I can implement it properly.
Hopefully next week, I'll get to actually coding these two fighting like an old married couple. I'll probably feel a bit better by then too.

Perfect Love Devlog #31
I sort of forgot to do a devlog last week so I’ll make up for it now. As you can see I started coding the scene for it after I finally got all the sprites and set up for the layered sprites. I was struggling for a bit since I needed a place for Seph to do his weird little summoning ritual. Initially I was going to use this abandoned attic with a bookcase, but after searching around for a bit, I just couldn’t find a book place that I really liked. Then I tried parking lots and still nothing. Finally I settled on this kind of abandoned warehouse thing. It reminds me of the abandoned train construction building near my college.
I had to write some more lines for this scene so that it felt more like a haunted place, ooh spooky along with some more Seph being a weirdoooo. I need to still do Iyas name tag and probably still figure out two of the three monster forms, but hey we gotta start somewhere right.

Perfect Love Devlog #48
I'll be honest, this week I didn't get too much done because, well, you know, Halloween and all (I was dressed as a shark!). The other reason is because I'm trying to figure out how to do the glitching for Gamma, and then of course because it's me, I'm trying to go extra and making six different glitch effects for each of his sprite! Amazing, there was no reason to do this, but hopefully it will give a fun experience. The glitch effect you see above was actually made by converting the image into a text file, messing with it and turning it back into an image, which is called databending. You can actually do something similar by loading the image into a sound editor like audacity and messing with it. Fascinating! Anyways, now because it's me I have to find six different ways to do glitch effects for it, which will be randomized, just like how I did it for the perfect milo extra. That just means it's going to be a lot of work and trial and error.
That and I've also written some more easter eggs for someone. You know who you are!!

Perfect Love Devlog #47
Ah yes, what loving words from Eris. Anyways, the picnic scene's mini cgs are done for now and so the entire scene is done. Hooray! I also finished up some easter eggs (well mostly) for some characters (you know who you are). With this done I finally can work on the Gamma scenes since I don't have an excuse to do other things lol.
I have to write up a bunch of stuff for the fun value undertale thing I was inspired to do since if I do that, then I'd already have all of the sprites I need. Then after that it's just me completely focusing on Easter Eggs and cleaning up. I think when I get to that I might completely stop devlogs for a bit since there's really not much to show in those things. I'll probably end up picking it back up once I start doing sound effects.

Perfect Love Devlog #37
I'm going on a family weekend trip so I have to write this before I get to the hotel. I've been working on more sprites and whatnot for Alpha, and I was able to add Seph and Alpha's mini sprites floating around for the exiting screen as well. So once again for Seph's route, all I really need to do is figure out a good design for Cryptic.
I made an update post on itch.io as well explaining what I was going to be doing, including some of the pictures I've used for current devlogs. I hope that when I get back and by next week I'll have mostly what I need to finish Alpha's route. I also need to have the namebox made for her. Not sure what exactly I'm going to use though designwise, but hopefully it will be good.
Since we're going back and forth on which characters to use I think I might do Ryan's route next. Not sure if I want to make a new sprite for him or not though, but I'll have to see just how versatile the current sprites are.

Perfect Love Devlog #25
Phew man, coming in hot!
I’ve finished Emil’s extra story, with the exception of sfx, music and a couple of mini CGs I need to draw, all of it is coded in properly! I added some new stuff for him, so I might try to do this with each extra story to make it a bit more interesting. I still have to think about what sfx to use for him. Something that sounds soothing or bright, if that makes any sense.
Next I’ll be working on Iya and Desmond’s extra story. Desmond only really has two base sprites so I’ll probably draw one more for him just for this route. Iya is kind of tough to design again since her appearance changes rather drastically from her original counterpart to now. I think I got it down though, but I need to make some minor tweaks. Their story is the most comedic and wholesome story out of all the extra stories so this one will be fun to do.
I’m starting to write down nicknames for Easter eggs. Thank you all for your suggestions! I will now proceed to steal them for my own. You can continue to keep on suggesting them if you wish.
I’m thinking after this one I’ll work on the Seph and Valli extra story. I have to figure out some new sprites for the both of them. And how to design some of the monster shapes.

Perfect Love Devlog #35
I spent a day seriously trying to figure out how to get multiple frames for the mouth speaking and then suddenly I figured it out in two seconds on how to do it. Such is the life of making a visual novel. The clip shown above was just me testing if the mouth flaps actually work the way I want it to, which it does. I need to do some more fixing like making sure Alpha's name doesn't show up until she introduces herself and you know actually making sure she appears when she needs to be there, and to make a new nametag for her since she's a special character.
I added in some other mouth sprites after this for this and another sprite I had, as well as drawing a couple of sprites relating to some of her actions. I will say that I will probably spend the most time on this specific story on sprites since a lot of it will be animated. I'll try not to overdo it since it is still a single scene she's in, and I have like a ton of other extra stories I need to do. I still need to actually do the flooaty exit sprite for Seph that I keep forgetting to do.
I'm thinking... after I do this one, I can do the Ryan story next. I should have all the sprites for that one already so it should be just me coding it in instead of drawing it (which I'm sure I'll be sick of doing once I'm done with all of Alpha's sprites)
