I was doing some plant maintenance today - the chickens kick up a lot of dirt which comes in my window and covers everything. The plants are my first line of defense, so they get dirty. Then they get a shower. Here at the Bellevue Funny Farm, we don’t believe in AC. So it’s windows open! ******** I used to get 💩 for having too many animals. So I don’t rescue any pets anymore. I just love the ones I have. But I started seeing plants that I loved from childhood - like the philodendron that Uncle Walt gave my mom in a wood and mirror planter that he made. I think was like 3 then. ******* Now i get 💩 for having too many plants. Plants aren’t just things to collect for me. Many have very specific memories attached for me. I am a person cursed with an extremely strong memory. I remember stuff from before my 1st birthday- verified by my mother. I think and remember in pictures. Which is a bitch when you also have PTSD. 😄 I remember the gigantic ficus elastica in my grandparents backyard. I climbed it when i was about 8. I got pretty high up when the branch broke and i fell about 6’ to land flat on my back on the concrete. It knocked the wind out of me BAD. I heard another snap and the branch fell onto my face. I had a diagonal bruise across my face for a couple of weeks. I have 3 varieties of ficus elastica in my room. ******* So for me, it’s not alcohol, it’s not drugs and now it’s not animals. It’s plants. It’s my not so good coping mechanism. If people want me to cope better with The Struggle, then... sorry. Im doing the best I can. You can eat a bag of 🍆🍆🍆. Great. So, budget/no online shopping May is going great. I’ve bought some new plants, ordered some new outfits, and... Waaaaaait a second.
