mom and i were talking about joke middle names because she declined to get her old middle name back after she divorced my dad (she always hated her middle name) and still doesn't have a middle name like 20 years later. after joking about middle names like "danger" or "freakin" or "h. tapdancing" i said i need one that just sounds silly when said right after my first name (Shelby) and within half a second my mom suggested Smelby. also, right after that, Dhelby. and honestly, i don't even have anything against my actual middle name, but now i want to get rid of it and replace it with Dhelby. i want to introduce myself as Shelby Dhelby and have the state-issued photo ID to back it up. i'm sure it'll go over great at job interviews
