Not that I want Buddie to happen or anything, but I've seen too many posts about how the show wouldn't be "realistic" if they made Eddie Queer because then 3 out of the 5 Main cast members would be Queer. About how it could work on a "an LGBT show" but not a firefighter drama, I'm still quoting.
First of all, it's already the case in the spinoff 911 Lone Star, we have Nancy who's a Bisexual woman, TK who's a Gay man and Paul who's a Trans man. And also Carlos, who is TK's husband and he's also part of the Main Cast, so that's 4. And it's the same franchise as 911.
There's also Grey's anatomy that has (had) many Queers characters over the years: Callie, Arizona, Kai, Nico, Casey, Minnick (who are now gone) and Levi, Amelia, Teddy, Helm, Yasuda, Jules, Beltran, Carina (who's more on Station 19, but still). And I'm only talking about the Main Cast, not guest characters.
Can someone expain to me the "not realistic part"?
Also can someone explain to me the logic of homophobes being ok with watching a show with one Queer character but not 2 or 3?
I'm not saying Eddie being Queer is going to happen, but I don't think it's unrealistic and it certainly wouldn't mean he would have to be in a relationship with Buck either. They can have their own separate romantic storylines. And no, it wouldn't be "unrealistic".
