Ron Hextall: 37 wins (1986-87)
Pete Peeters: 29 wins (1979-80)
Sergei Bobrovsky: 28 wins (2010-11)
Antero Niittymaki: 23 wins (2005-06)
Pelle Lindbergh: 23 wins (1982-83)
Samuel Ersson: 21 wins (2023-24)
Brian Boucher: 20 wins (1999-2000)
Following in the footsteps of trailblazing rookies and giants alike, Samuel Ersson is living up to his role in net in a huge way, and a historic one. With today's 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins, he has displaced now-color commentator (and once, #33 for the Philadelphia Flyers) Brian Boucher for the title of 6th all-time wins by a Flyers rookie goalie. Ersson has the third-best GAA on this list, 2.66, preceded only by Boucher (1.91) and Bobrovsky (2.59), and the second-lowest total GA, 104. (Boucher, 65 GA, is first.) And also of note: he is tied for the second-most shutouts on this list, with Boucher again coming in first with 4 shutouts.
It's relevant to note that Boucher in his rookie season was the backup to starter John Vanbiesbrouck, who played 50 games to Boucher's 35. (Ersson has played 42 games this season, and only recently reached 50 total GP in the NHL on March 12, 2024, a 3-2 win against the San Jose Sharks.) The rest of the goaltenders who currently sit above Ersson were all essentially starters, though Niittymaki shared the burden pretty evenly with Robert Esche in the 2005-06 season (46 GP to 40 GP). Peeters and Hextall also took their STACKED Flyers squads to the Stanley Cup Finals (Peeters played with some of the most venerated Flyers of all time – Bobby Clarke, Rick MacLeish, Bill Barber; Hextall played behind a filthy 80s team; Tim Kerr, Mark Howe, Rick Tocchet, and the bruise brothers, Dave Brown and Daryl Stanley. Fun fact: Both goalies played with Brian Propp!) Those Flyers had been to the playoffs every season from 1973-1989. Those Flyers won in '74 and '75.
These 2023-24 Flyers came into the season with low expectations, and three years of missing the playoffs. But behind those low expectations is a team that's apparently capable of beating the best teams in the league. Of the 12 wins over top-10 clubs (BOS, VAN 2x, COL, CAR, DAL, FLA 2x, WPG 2x, EDM, TOR) Ersson was the winning goalie for 8 of those. At times, including March 23 v Boston, the team they beat was #1 in the league.
To reach 4th place in all time Flyers rookie goalies, and not just tie with Niittymaki and Lindbergh, Ersson needs three more wins. The Flyers have 11 games left in the season, and the Gauntlet is almost over, with the most recent three games (against the teams that currently sit 2nd, 6th, and 9th in the league) yielding five points in the standings. The future looks bright.
And tomorrow, Florida.

One Piece Chapter 1083 - Initial Thoughts
And we're back
After Golden week we are done with yet another break, and it seems even TCB were eager for it with an extra early Wednesday upload
So let's see what One Piece delivers for us this week
Spoilers for the Chapter, please also support the Official Release
Doffy's turn to show sentiment towards a small animal for a cover page apparently
Wait...WE'RE NOT BEING BLUEBALLED!? WE'RE FINALLY LEARNING WHAT HAPPENED IN THE REVERIE!???
Seems the Revolutionaries' plan was to destroy the symbol, food reserves and free slaves as their 'declaration of war', which they accomplished while getting Kuma back
12 nations went into uprising after the Reverie, but only 8 were successful, including Lulusia which means only 7 publicly declared that they won't pay tribute anymore
Makes you wonder about the four though, since those 12 were all connected to the Revolutionary army in some way
Seems the army's plans now is to cut supplies to Marejois, try to cause a shortage and lead them into poverty
It's an okay plan on paper, but the problem with sorts like the Celestial Dragons is that they'll punish the bottom of the ladder; having less food means they'll simply feed the bottom less
Seems Oda's not done adding new enemy factions though; God's knights are expected to be brought out as a result of the army's actions
With Sabo the face of this revolution too that makes him an easy target for the knights
Sabo doesn't like his 'Flame Emperor' name though, probably would like it more if he knew it was the name of one of Ace's attacks
Oda literally telling the audience through Dragon 'yes most world leaders are awful, but not all of them', reminding that Cobra's death is unfortunate and there was respect there
It is cold to say Sabo, I get you're content with the end result but being framed for Cobra's death is not something to be content over, a good man died
The newspaper article as well shows Sabo standing over Cobra's body, very conspicuous angle as well
Flashback time! Chaos in Marejois as the army commanders attack
Of course, the Celestial Dragons are useless alone, pinning blame on people not present and imploring they help them
One tries to shoot his slave for carrying him too slowly, but he is disarmed by Karasu
Like dude, you can't 'fire' a slave, you don't pay him a wage
Karasu is riddled with bullets, but Logia rules apply
Seems the crows are just aesthetic, Karasu instead has the Soot Soot Fruit
As Lindbergh uses a laser to break the slaves' chains, Karasu dives into combat with Fujitora
Morley is also fighting with Ryokugyu, which is causing a lot more environmental chaos, meaning Akainu fanboy is getting shit from the Celestial Dragons too
No Fujitora DO order a Meteor Strike...after all the good guys are out of course
I guess Ryokugyu's not Akainu-esque enough to go scorched earth on the Celestial Dragons
The rest of the CP9 squad are here, I guess maybe they're part of CP0 now too? Fukurou is styling with those shades though
Sabo's looking for the key to the collars, meaning that none of the commanders have Ryou
Charloss is still planning on going for Shirahoshi though, with Roswald and Kuma in tow
I wonder if Shirahoshi is talking to someone in particular in her panel
Brief Bonney appearance but no interaction with Sabo yet
Over with Vivi and she's not happy with Lucci being her escort
Proper roasting this guy, Lucci's in a battle of his life resisting the urge to murder
Well this is concerning, a sickly Cobra told only he can have an audience with the Gorosei, who have been told by Imu likely to target Vivi
Cobra though is fearless (or accepting of his fate), telling Pell and Chaka to go find Vivi instead
So I'm surprised we stuck with the whole Reverie storyline, I was certain we'd wait until things cooled down a bit more so Bonney and Sabo could explain the story to Luffy and Dragon at the same time.
That being said, there's not a lot of what we didn't already know in this chapter, we already knew the admirals fought the captains after all and that they destroyed the seal, it feels like Oda is saving the main meat for next chapter.
Maybe the nice round 1085 is when we'll get back to Luffy and the supposed Egghead incident, or when we'll wrap up the other side stories since we still have present Kuma in Marejois to note about.
I'm surprised that Karasu's fruit is soot, and that all of CP9 went back and are likely CP0. But I do feel like the army's plan against Marejois is rather, tame? I guess they do have to plan carefully. We'll need to see God's Knights in action before we can gauge their threat level to the overall story, but it does provide more firepower to the World Government side even without the Navy (since I still think they could schism).
But answers are coming...slowly...

Determining the "best" Philadelphia Flyers team is subjective and can vary depending on personal preferences and criteria. The Flyers have had several successful seasons and memorable teams throughout their history. Here are a few notable Flyers teams:
1973-1974 Philadelphia Flyers: This team is often regarded as one of the best in Flyers history. Known as the "Broad Street Bullies," they won their first Stanley Cup in the 1973-1974 season. Led by players like Bobby Clarke, Bernie Parent, and Bill Barber, they combined skill and physicality to dominate opponents.
1979-1980 Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers reached the Stanley Cup Finals for the second time in the 1979-1980 season. Although they fell short in the Finals, losing to the New York Islanders, this team was stacked with talented players like Clarke, Barber, Reggie Leach, and Mark Howe.
1984-1985 Philadelphia Flyers: This team made it to the Stanley Cup Finals but lost to the Edmonton Oilers. Led by goaltender Pelle Lindbergh, defenseman Mark Howe, and forwards Tim Kerr and Brian Propp, they displayed a strong offensive presence and had a solid playoff run.

Pedro Almodovar Nicole Kidman vue par Peter Lindbergh Calendrier Pirelli - 2017

“When these happy snaps were taken the Lindbergs had no thought of kidnappings. In the first one, Charles Augustus, Jr., displays curiosity; he poses nicely in the centre, then raises his hand to wave good-by.
While the world awaits the result of their efforts, state troopers and policemen search every foot of ground surrounding the LIndbergh home, hoping to uncover a clue which will lead to the capture of the kidnappers.
As soon as the adbucation became known, photographers descended pell-mell on the Lindbergh estate, for the latest snapshots of the kidnapped child. The pictures were set up on a shutter to enable all camera men to make copies.
Only a few hours after Lindy’s son was kidnapped, James Dejute, 11, son of a wealthy Niles, Ohio, contractor was spirited away by two men.”
