#Repost @aproctor.art with @repostapp ・・・ Meet shark 2/365 the Pelagic Thresher Shark! Aka the Whiptail Shark after the extra long caudal fin that they use to strike and stun prey before they eat them. Threshers are most commonly found in the open ocean, and are currently listed as a Vulnerable species due to fishery exploitation. They are often targeted or caught as long line bycatch in largely unregulated areas. ❤🦈❤ #yearofsharks #yearofsharksproject #threshershark #pelagicthreshershark #shark #artivism #painting #ink #saveourseas #saveoursharks #nofear #nofinsoup #nofinsnofuture #sharkadvocate #sharkeducation #artforgood #respectthefin #ocean #oceanconservation #shark #sharkArt

Two sharks from a promotion we did! Two sharks still need to be colored. The sketches and promotion details are still on our Instagram so go check them out! •••••••••••••••••••••••• Here we have a bonnethead shark and a pelagic thresher shark. Both of these sharks show how incredible shark adaptations are! Bonnetheads, like other members of the hammerhead family, have that wide head of theirs. This helps them see better to avoid predators and catch prey. It also allows them to have more electroreceptors than other sharks! Our friend the thresher shark uses that long tail to stun fish and be a more successful hunter. Unfortunately, that big tail is also a disadvantage. The thresher’s big fins causes it to be especially targeted by shark finning. All three thresher species are Vulnerable. You can help sharks by shopping at places like @finfinningforever and @respect_the_fin •••••••••••••••••••••••• #art #sharkart #threshershark #bonnetheadshark #bonnethead #thresher #hammerhead #pelagicthreshershark #sharkeducation #conservation #sharkconservation #education #respectthefin #endsharkfinning #stopsharkfinning #dontfearthefin #replacefearwithfacts
