Hajj 2023: food for the soul
As a community, the Bohra community has always been a "foodie" bunch of people - pehle pet pooja, phir kaam duja!
Our food over these 35+ days is all arranged at the hotel itself. Breakfast, lunch, evening chai, dinner...all at the same place and at the same time, each day!
Breakfasts are in a buffet system while the lunch and dinner are in the traditional thaal system.
Each day, they have a different menu for all three meals. Breakfast has had the best of bhurji, omlette, boiled eggs, kheema, paya, poha, corn flakes, jam, honey, dates, cream....arrey bss karo ab!
Lunches and dinners have had the best ice cream flavors, best of mutton/chicken savouries, best of Biryanis and Pulav and the best of soul food in the form of Daal and Rice!
We also tried some local delicacies during the trip.
Overall, the meals have had the perfect combination of nutrition and truly been soul food.
Arrey bhai, pls give me some more daal and rice ..i am not done yet!
