Be it what she opposed, he had done what he could. Naming the babe after her favourite star, bequeathing her to a place with a roof over her head. Gifting a life spared from piracy.

All he could do now was look into the eyes of someone he had owed it all to.

My #mermay messy sketch. Here's mermaid!Margaret and Barbossa in Part of Your World Reprise from The Little Mermaid. I saw @captainbool-bool 's art of the alternative ending in POTC 5 where Barbossa's washed up on the island. And this gave me the idea of mermaid! Margaret saved Barbossa from drowning himself after he sacrificed for their daughter, Carina and took him on the island.

And then I read bits from the interview that's not available (cries) and Geoffrey Rush said he's "disappointed" that the POTC writers and producer never let him suggestions for his character, Barbossa, including they never let Barbossa GETTING HIMSELF A GIRL

My Barbossa Funko had arrived and I knew exactly what I'm going to do that

I know we don’t know much about Carina’s mom. but what do you think made her fall for Hector, a cold hearted pirate, of all people? And he seemed to truly love her which I find strange.

We know her name was Margaret Smith. I imagine he was just as surprised by their love.

She probably found him attractive because he’s intelligent and mysterious. He fell for her because she’s competent and sweet.

Slowly, she discovered how much of a regular, romantic man he could be and he discovered how much fire she had in her.

This led to an actual relationship developing from a tentative friendship

It's no secret Barbossa fell for the wicked lady of the sea.

She has elegance, beauty and grace, everything he couldn't resist.

Margaret Smyth is canonically the love of Barbossa's life.

I would picture him jumping into fights whenever to protect Margret.

Barbossa would more or less have Margaret on his mind even when he's out at sea.

When he's at the helm, he would pull out a miniature portrait of her when he's missing the woman he loves.

Beckett secretly invites Margaret to his manor while the captain's out at sea.

Barbossa trying to convince Margaret to stay away from Beckett.

Margaret and Hector are similar to Elizabeth and Will, except they are more passionate.

Barbossa saves every moment he's on shore with the lady he loves.

Hector has self-doubts about his daughter.

When he sees Carina, he sees her resemblance to his beloved.

Barbossa never forgot his wicked beloved and promised to raise Carina after her death.

Margret is strong, independent and elegant. She holds her own being except when she still has a soft spot for her two men.

Barbossa is fierce, stubborn and cunning. He would most show his soft spot to his beloved lady.

Barbossa held negative thoughts when Margret was pregnant with Carina. He wouldn't reveal anything about it until the day she was born.

When Margret passed, he was a mess; indeed, he had held no tears spilling however, her death still pained him deep down expression.

Sometimes when dreaming, he sees her ghost visit him in his dreams.

Lust would only be a part of it; it would be more loving and sensual.

Barbossa slowly and tenderly takes off his wicked lady's gown's shoulder sleeves.

A lot of tender smooching and touching.

Hector, surprisingly, is rather romantic. He would be gentle and eventually remove his upper and undergarments.

He would move through her slowly, tenderly, softly and lovingly.

Barbossa and Margaret spend their time privately inside the locked quarters.

Margaret cuddles up to a naked Hector beneath the sheets.

Barbossa enjoying the peaceful bliss.

Hector Barbossa (sender) kisses Margaret Smyth (receiver) on lips, to comfort as they say goodbye on the beach just before dawn.

Barbossa had to leave, he didn't want to, he hated leaving the one woman who made him feel whole. The captain walked along the shore's soft sand looking unwilling. The captain's feathers on top of his hat blew in the wind as his coat trailed behind him. With each step he took, the water rolled in to touch the tip of his boot. The white foam still lingered as the waves pushed back; just as Hector made his final step, a voice called out from behind.

"HECTOR!" a woman shouted in the distance.

Barbossa turned to see a woman with dark, raven hair flowing in the wind. The woman rushed to say her last farewell to her beloved captain.

Hector smiled as he took one last glance at his lady Smyth. Though, he didn't shout goodbye back, nor did he turn around and leave. Instead, he walked up to Margaret; his face in settled in a soft expression.

Margaret's dark brown eyes gazed into Barbossa's light blue irises. She couldn't beg him to stay, he was sailor, a captain that had to man his ship. However, she could at least dream of his return.

"Nay, I can't make ye stay, but-, promise ta return upon these shores from where we stand an' never forget me" she lightly grabbed the captain's rough hand.

The captain reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, miniature locket with a painting in it. "As a captain, I give ye me word" Hector smirked with a promising tone.

He looked into Margarets dark, brown eyes. Hector leaned in and kissed her soft lips, a scene that reminisced the final farewell of Elizabeth and Will Turner.

I've been just thinking about musical!Barbossa is still an asshole that he supposed to be in the film but he hides his pain of grieving and loss over Margaret's death and takes him to slow recovery for years from that. It's difficult for him to move on.

Remember I said Will x Elizabeth is like ghibli version of Sophie and Howl and I possibly think of Barbossa x Margaret is like book version of Sophie and Howl (heard in theory that pegtor is mirrored to willabeth)

But what about Henry x Carina?
