today's bird is the rosy-faced lovebird! (peach-faced lovebird)

- first off, a little valentine's fact: the date, february 14th, was selected by medieval birdwatchers who noticed it was around the time that birds would begin selecting their mates!

- rosy-faced lovebirds are the largest lovebird species

- rosy-faced lovebirds mate monogamously for life! if their partner dies they will enter an erratic and depressed state like that of humans

got bored and decided to draw some of my ocs' pets and i wanna ramble about them

Charlotte is Selene's pet, she's a peach faced lovebird, she's very clingy and she loves getting attention and pets (she also likes stealing your food if you get distracted)

Midnight is Samantha's cat. He's grumpy, quiet, introverted, and he tends to be mean to everyone except Samantha. He's very attached to his owner, so he also gets jealous very easily.

HERE'S SOME LORE TOO, Midnight was meant to be Samantha' mother's cat, but the cat hated her since she was a terrible person. When Samantha was a kid, he was the only one who was affectionate to Midnight, he was also the one who chose a name for him. So when Samantha left his home behind, Midnight has been following him around ever since, they both have a close friendship.

Vanessa is Kezia's cat, Kezia named her after the red admiral butterfly. She's a very refined and sophisticated cat, but she secretly likes causing trouble too. She likes knocking Kezia's books down when she's not watching. She's also super fluffy, like a pillow.

And last but not least, Caramel, Amanda's pet. He used to be a stray dog, until Amanda saw him while going back home from school, and she decided to adopt him. He's very cheerful, energetic and a little bit airheaded too. His favorite hobby is chewing and scratching random things (something that destroyed a few of Amanda's and her mom's belongings.....)

It’s funny how a simple thing like birdsong can make a whole day better. The lovebirds outside my window? They don’t care about deadlines, worries, or chaos. They just sing—loud, free, and full of life. And somehow, their tiny voices remind me that happiness isn’t complicated. It’s just… being.
