What does packing for the Peace Corps look like? For two people it's this... Thanks to the 50lb per bag limit we were able to pack some extra things like equipment to record audio either with our camera or with ProTools. 2 bags each + a backpack + an instrument still seems like a lot to lug around. #rcpc #pcbound #peacecorpsbound #peacecorps #m30 #Moldova http://ift.tt/1J9EcZJ

It’s fitting that on our last week in the USA we got to experience the in your face blast of Red, White, and Blue that is the Worthington, OH Memorial Day parade.  The parade was complete with the appearce of the Shriners in their tiny cars.

Also, I’ve temporarily abandoned my Moldovan Music Monday posts while things have been especially hectic.  This time next week we’ll be about to board a plane to travel to Munich then on to Moldova.  Once there I’ll be able to experience Moldovan Music first hand!

If you went, “eh? Mol…? where…?” when we told you where we were invited to serve, please don’t stress! Only, like, three people have known the country (and we’ve told a LOT of people!). I think the last time I took geography was 1992, when this wonderful country was still in its infancy. If you’re US-educated and older than I am, you’re definitely off the hook! ;)

This is the longest path a Priority Mail envelope I've sent has ever taken.  I previously made an error on my application for my Peace Corps Passport.  This required me to send my birth certificate to the processing agent in Washington, DC.  However, for some reason this DC bound letter went to Florida and then up to DC where it hid out for a few days.  It finally was delivered today.

For the non PC people... the Peace Corps requires and issues a separate passport that is only valid during your service in the country you are assigned.
