i was rereading pcybt and was wondering what was going on in catra's head that morning they woke up together in the last chapter? (since she already knew about her own feelings) sorry if it's a weird question jalksd i just love your writing!!

this isn’t a weird question at all!!! in fact, what a lovely question!!!

so catra def knows what’s up regarding adora’s feelings — they’re both a little stupid BUT catra knows adora rlly well and so she knows that their feelings are mutual, so she probably would have woken up very Content and Soft and Happy. she’s woken up by mara, tho, so her first emotion of the day is embarrassment for sure cause she did uhhhhh sneak in the night before.

other than that, though, i think she and adora are on a similar page. adora’s Just Realized, but the realization is p new to catra herself... i think they’re both very relieved & happy & i think catra, particularly, feels very safe to Be Herself (aka she becomes a Soft Bastard and spends some time teasing adora lmaoo). & tho it takes them six months to really say that they’re in love, like. They Are. and so catra’s probably feeling that tenderness & love as well.

Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.@figbian opal knows how much i love her writing but i will Restate it. pcybt was one of the first catradora fics i read and im pretty sure i read it all in one or two sittings…absolutely adored it, as i do all of her writing. i Distinctly remember reading and we too shall yield to love instead of working on my project the day it came out and not regretting a single moment. even just looking at the summary for it just now makes me feel warm and that’s. how all of her writing feels to me. soft and warm like a hazy summer afternoon

@artemisbye ydstm..i’m both excited to see it updated and also saddened to see how close it is to being finished because i LOVE it. the part just before the end of chapter 5…….i don’t want to spoil for anyone that hasn’t read but . i sent that to EVERYONE i knew even if they didn’t know anything about she ra because it made me Feel So Much. left in shadows gave me Chills and i just,,,,their writing makes me want to branch out and try new things ! it makes me Feel ! i love their style and how every genre they write feels so effortless !

@akari-hope​ i am Not biased but pictures ?? once bitten ?? prophet au?? literally everything ari’s written has taken me on a roller coaster of emotions every time. i thought prophet au was good when i had the idea but then they took it and made it…phenomenal. it’s exactly how i pictured it but also a thousand times better than i ever thought it could be and i’m sososo excited for everyone to be able to read their chapter and see what i mean. all of ari’s writing also feels different but it all has the same undertone of feeling safe, almost like a favorite sweater. and i love that

hi! this is a good question bc i promised weeks ago i’d publish chap 4 and it’s been, well, weeks. the reason is bc im not v far along in the schedule rn on account of being terribly busy w school trips n college tours (which is why my tumblr has been so inactive lately). BUT im hoping to post it in a couple weeks, depending on how i do on chap 5. it should be ok tho, cause im super pumped for ch5, even tho it looks like i lied to yall and its gonna be a 6 or even 7 chapter fic instead of a 5 chapter fic (whoops).

I just read "please could you be tender," and wow, I just have to say you're a fantastic writer! Your characterization is on point for an AU fiction! Though what I love most is your pacing sets the tone and the way their feelings progress perfectly! By the time they kiss, it works so naturally you can't help but think "Gah, you two were basically already in a relationship, it was just a matter of who kissed who first!" ok so i hope this doesnt seem like a weird question and u might not really have an answer but in pcybt do catra and adora learn russian and spanish for each other?

this is a wonderful q!!!!!! honestly i always assumed that adora learned a bit of shaky spanish just from being around catra & columbia has a language requirement, so take from that what u will ;-)

as for catra? she probably knows phrases n stuff when it comes to russian & tho i don’t think i specify her undergrad, it’s p likely she had a language requirement as well, but she would definitely look to a “useful” language for her career choice (lawyer & hopefully eventually, politician), so it’s unclear if she ever properly learned russian. but i think she would end up knowing some cause mara & adora might talk abt her in russian and catra would Know cause adoras a terrible actress and blushes So Easily, so she’d at least complete duolingo on it

all this to say maybe! it’s partially up to you regarding how much of the other’s language each girl learns. since it’s not in the fic, keeping it open feels Right. it’s up to you! thank u for such a good question that i wrote so much on lmao

1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)

oh gosh. im gonna go for one out of left field i think: this (neo) medieval catradora au !! it just has the pining & tenderness im a big fan of and doesnt require too much knowledge of canon?? i guess? but ultimately it depends on what u know! either way it's hard to say. im bad at knowing what of my fic id rec to people i guess?

a fic people tend to like a lot is pcybt (catradora childhood friends modern au) and a fic ive been revisting recently is what resembles the grave but isn't (community scooby doo au); whatever i was working thru there has become relevant again lmao. but idk! idk, it depends on what people like!

29. What songs would be (or are) on a playlist for [insert fic]? Explain your choices if you want!

ooo for fences! i genuinely only have phoebe bridgers' i know the end & the pixies' where is my mind for the would-be playlist (im bad with mkaing playlists) but one song sent to me for fences was the frontier psychiatrist (the avalanches).
