To the Wild Kratts fandom:
As you may or may not be aware, after a fierce battle, Wild Kratts lost in the polls against Cyberchase in Round 3 yesterday. While I have never watched this show and barely know what it is about, the vocal love, passion, and dedication to this show and it’s success in this tournament touched my heart. I could feel your devotion and sweet nostalgic memories for this show through the screen. From what I have seen it seems like a lovely show with lovely people who enjoy it. I also appreciate your tolerance and good nature about my accusations that the fans had crushes on the main characters. I was so moved by your words that, even though I have more personal memories of Cyberchase, I secretly wanted Wild Kratts to win. But the people have spoken and the way that this tournament plays out is decided by them, not me. Now I know that I should be an impartial host, but I wanted my true feelings to be known. This will in no way change how the remainder of this competition will play out. I am sorry that this show wasn’t successful in this tournament, but it seems like it was successful in bringing you all joy. My heart goes out to you all on this day.

Favorite PBS Kids Show Tournament: Final Words
So it’s finally over. After about eleven and a half days, the PBS Kids Show Tournament is finished and a winner has been decided.
I started this tournament after I received a significant amount of backlash (that I still get) over my initial favorite PBS Kids Show poll. Many people were upset that their favorite show wasn’t on the bracket, and I felt their pain. I knew that the angry comments asking where this or that show was were out of love and passion for a formative piece of artwork.
So when I started putting together this tournament, I wanted to put as many shows on the bracket as possible to give as many shows as I could a fair chance to win. I wanted as many people as possible to see their favorite show somewhere on the bracket. I wanted as many people as possible to be able to show their love for their favorite show in the form of a vote. I wanted to bring back warm memories in the minds of those who participated.
I will admit that I had a show or two that I secretly wanted to win, but I was committed to making the tournament as fair and unbiased as possible with as little interference from my end as I could. I wanted the tournament to reach its natural conclusion, and it seems like it did.
In my eyes, this tournament isn’t about winners and losers, it’s about love and dedication. I mainly wanted this tournament to bring out the love that people have for their favorite PBS kids shows. Maybe they were shows that shaped your youth and taught you a thing or two about the strange world around us. Maybe they were shows you watched with a child, a sibling, a cousin, a friend, and got sucked in. Or maybe they’re shows you watched in adulthood with no one else around because you love the shows regardless.
Over the course of this tournament I saw people talk about how deeply some shows impacted them and how much they adore the shows to this day. And despite some of these beloved shows not always coming out on top, the drive to vote to try to get them to win touched my heart.
In my eyes none of these shows are better or more sacred than any others. Even if your favorite show didn’t win, always let your love for it shine and be heard. Share your love with others and connect over it. Please never let anyone kill your joy.
Maybe in a few days or so I’ll make a highlight post about some significant events that happened during this tournament, there were some interesting ones.
If you’re still curious about me, the host, my main blog is @ifwebefriends and I have a reblog blog @iwbf-reblogs and a blog dedicated to the Milo Murphy’s Law character Vinnie Dakota @vinniedakotastanblog. I post to my main blog pretty frequently and occasionally to the other two.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for voting, for participating, for reblogging, for commenting, for leaving unique tags, for leaving feedback, for asking questions, and for being so dedicated and patient throughout this entire tournament. It wouldn’t have happened without you all. You have my gratitude for making this tournament fun and exciting. Take care and well wishes to all of you.
