So. Um. Yeah. Editing is going fantastic everyone. I have TOTALLY started and not spent the last week writing another 10k+ of a secret related project.

Anyways - Here's something from said project...

Aethelwold tempers the crowd, pulling at the collar of his shirt as he feigns joy through gritted teeth, “Well, this is a delightful surprise. You two must have just broken thousands of hearts across Panem.” A few shouts of agreement float to the stage,  “And here I thought you said there was nothing going on between you two.”

Exciting news!! I have surpassed 40k words on my TLK x Hunger Games Fic!!! I think I'm at about the half-way point!!

The playfulness between them washes away, thrusting them back into reality as he replaces it with a mask of ice. She follows him into the elevator, standing as far away from him as the small glass box will allow. “Do not attempt to make plans with Rognvaldr without my knowledge again. It will not end well for you.” They are not lovers, not friends, not even mentors and mentee; She is and always will be the enemy.

I can never just share a singular sentence, okay?! And this needs some finessing with the words but yeah.

The first chapter of my newest fic, "Darkest Before the Dawn", is published on AO3. Continue reading for a snippet of the first paragraph.

This is still in progress, but is a multichapter fic. It details the story of how Aldhelm fell in love with Aethelflaed, something that is completely missing from the series. It starts off taking place at the end of Season 2 during the Battle of Beomfleot, and continues into the time in between Seasons 2 and 3, and concludes with a Season 3 rewrite, focusing on Aldhelm's thoughts and feelings (with one minor scene change from canon).

Rated M for violence and blood.

This is technically a prequel to Springtime in Saltwic. However, you do not have to read that first to enjoy and understand this one.

I have no timeline for publishing, but will try my best to publish a new chapter every 2 weeks. I have 6 chapters finished now, and just need to edit them and post, while I continue to write future chapters.

The humid night air was cooling from the heat of the day, and a thin fog had started to rise from the damp earth. The pale waning moon hung high in the clear sky, casting its cool light over the fields where King Alfred and Lord Aethelred were leading the West Saxon and Mercian armies in haste to intercept Lord Odda and the Devonshire Fyrd. They had ridden hard through the entire day and night to the fortress of Beomfleot, where Odda and his men were certainly stationed, in the hope of preventing war. As the armies crested the hill near the outskirts of the fortress, the Devonshire fyrd came into full view in the valley below.

Tagged by @2nd2ndalto. This is tricky, because my favorite is always either the one I'm working on or the one I end up reading for some reason. What I really should do is write which I think are my five favorites, and then go back to see if I've answered this before (I'm sure I have) and see how often I say the same fics. Or if I never say the same fics.

Here's the ones that caught my attention while trying to find five favorites, which means they're my favorites today:

Personally, I Blame the Coffee (Victor/Yuuri, Coffeeshop AU, one-shot) It was so much fun to write this cracky little one-shot. I'm still impressed I go the whole fic without Victor knowing Yuuri's name, despite his many, many attempts to learn it.

Crossovers (Eric Bittle/Jack Zimmerman, AU where Bittle is a figure skater & Jack is JJ Leroy's cousin) Eric skates to Beyonce's Halo, I regret nothing. There's more to the fic, but honestly what else do you need?

A Fiddle in the Band (Johnlock, AU Country Music, unfinished) Oh, my poor semi-abandoned Fiddle 'Verse. I still think the Ballad of Gloria Scott would make a pretty good country song, if it was anyone but me singing it.

Dangerous Games (Mystrade, Historical AU where the Germans won WW2) I love this one. It's despair and heartbreak and loss and it's probably riddled with historical inaccuracies but I love Mycroft in it. Of all the Mystrades I've written, this one's my favorite.

Pages from a Broken Book (Ten2/Rose, post-JE in Pete's World) Basically I write about my experience with culture shock for fourteen stories. You know, as you do.

Believe it or not but I have started a new S2 Sihtric fic. I really struggle to come back to writing so I can't promise I will finish it, but who knows...

"Was he even heading in the right direction? Sihtric stumbled, his legs barely able to hold his weight, and this time, he couldn't catch himself. He crashed to the ground, the thick moss cushioning his fall, but the sharp, searing pain that tore through his side forced a strangled moan from his clenched teeth.

He lay there for a moment, sprawled on his back, chest heaving. Above him, the thick canopy of leaves let in slivers of golden light, the first signs of dawn breaking through. The sun was rising, marking the beginning of a new day, a day he might not live to see the end of."

This is a lil something from the Sihtric x F!Reader silly angsty one shots

When the wood was gathered and the fire lit, the remaining of the dried meat eaten and your faces lit up with smiles and colour, you and Hild decided to go and gather some berries, while Sihtric and Finan went for a little hunt to gather meat for the dinner. When you parted ways with the boys, you saw Finan smirking sheepishly, leaning to Sihtric and wrapping his hand around Dane's shoulder, and a soft chuckle flew over to your ears, filling the air around you with warmth and ease.

His clandestine confinement consisted of the repetition of scripture and prayer to atone for sins that were not his own, and it did not feed his faith, but instead allowed his bitterness for his banishment to fester within. 

ridiculous is this whole segment that I wrote in Ask Me Anything

“I had some questions in regards to one's penumbra rights,” he began, watchful of your reaction with his deliberate words. “I think I could be a victim of unwarranted appropriation and I wonder how that would hold in the court of law?”     You could feel the blood drain from your face and your tongue pressed against your bottom lip, your teeth biting as you brought it forward to try and relax your jaw. The gesture was subtle with your attempt to calm your nerves, but it was not missed from his intense gaze. Aemond fucking smirked.  Your eyes narrowed on him. “You would need undeniable proof of tort liability,” you began, your voice hoarse with your reply and you cleared your throat before continuing. “It would need to be undeniable that your likeness had been used without consent.”  There was a pregnant pause; you refused to ask what he may or may not have and you watched the dimples line his cheeks with his knowing smile. “I believe I do have proof,” he finally said, reaching into his jean’s pockets and retrieving his phone. “It’s an ebook that was just released.”  Oh, fuck.
