One thing I find very funny about Fate is that despite their love of genderbends, they've only changed an originally male character's name to a female variant once - their very first and most iconic one, Artoria. All the men changed into women that came after her just... Kept their masculine names. Mordred, Nero, Nobunaga, all women, don't question it, it's fine.

I was hoping for more hate reblogs to reply to but fuck it, joy of more queer headcanons is good enough for me. Leonardo Da Vinci is agender and just loves a feminine aesthetic. Nursery Rhyme, in addition to being girlfriends with Jack and Paul Bunyan and Jeanne d’Arc Alter Santa Lily, is also a very precious trans child.  She transitioned socially while at a pretty young age and immediately got way happier after doing so.  All of her girlfriends know and absolutely none of them care. BB, Passionlip, Meltryllis, Kingprotea - all of them are bi as hell because all of them are based on Sakura who is bi as hell. Atalante is grey-ace.  Probably predictably. Marie Antoinette is omnisexual and a huge flirt. All the versions of Artoria are pretty bi, though none of them feel it as intensely as, say, Passionlip or Meltryllis does.  Artoria just is attracted to some men and some women and that’s that.  She’s very down-to-earth and honest about it. Iskandar is bi because self-explanatory.  Come on. Jeanne d’Arc Alter is completely convinced she doesn’t experience any attraction whatsoever and those weird feelings she feels around attractive people of all genders are her having some sort of jealousy reaction, obviously.  No way does she find anyone hot.  Of course not.  Nope.  (Absolutely nobody believes her on this but nobody’s brave or stupid enough to tell her.  Except Astolfo.  Astolfo gleefully runs away from fireballs every time they goad her about it.) Scathach woke up after a bunch of days in the land of shadow and quietly said to herself “y’know there’s probably a reason I’ve never actually wanted to settle down with anyone” and now that she’s heard that’s called “being asexual” she’s quietly happy about her purple color scheme.  This is an amendment to my above headcanon about her - she’s homoromantic, but asexual. Gilgamesh is *very* bi, even if his heart belongs to Enkidu above all else. If Suzuka Gozen was less focused on getting the perfect *boy*friend she’d realize how many women she’s also attracted to and wow Astolfo’s a cutie as well even if they’re not a *boy*... Penthesilea is aro-ace and profoundly sex repulsed.  As soon as someone sorted that out they went “oh yeah that explains a lot.” Osakabehime is a complete and utter disaster gay who has no idea how to function around her girlfriend Musashi.  Musashi, predictably, loves this because she gets free entertainment and Osakabehime is adorable when she blushes. Circe is extremely gay and is offended that any man thinks she might want them at all. Achilles is super gay.  The biggest gay.  He knows it, he owns it, and also thinks that any other gay men in Chaldea should call him sometime. Okada Izou is completely head over heels for Sakamoto Ryouma and would like you to stop pointing it out.  And by “like you to stop pointing it out” he means he’ll stab you next time you bring it up.  Needless to say he’s in denial about it. and I think that’s everyone.  Well, for now.  Funny thing about F/GO is they keep adding more servants for me to headcanon as being queer as hell given the slightest provocation.

Since the discourse right now appears to be about this, fuck it, I’mma rattle off every queer headcanon I have about Fate characters, specifically F/GO.  Granted, some of them only count as “headcanons” because the people behind the Fate franchise don’t have the guts to come out and actually commit to what they’ve canonically established, but here we go.  Also there’s a few neurodivergent headcanons thrown in there as well because fuck you this is my post I get to post what I want. Mash is bi and trans.  She transitioned a while ago with the help of Romani Archaman and is high stealth about it, but Gudao/Gudako knows because she trusts them enough after this many singularities to tell them. Miyamoto Musashi is bi. Every incarnation of Nero is agender and pansexual/panromantic. Xuanzang Sanzang and Minamoto-no-Raikou are both *extremely* gay for each other and frequently get up to extremely goofy but lovey-dovey displays of public affection.  Raikou is also trans. Helena Blavatsky is aro-ace and touch-neutral.  She’d give hugs if asked but if she’s never asked she’d never hug and she’s okay with that. Leonidas and Georgios are asexual but homoromantic and in a relationship together.  Their most common form of showing affection is sparring with each other, to admire the other’s strength. Jack and Nursery Rhyme are young gays just sorting out that They Like Girls Lots.  Jeanne d’Arc Alter Santa Lily and Paul Bunyan are both also girlfriends with Jack and Nursery Rhyme but are just girls who are friends with each other.  The four of them often sleep in a haphazard pile and it’s the cutest possible thing. Brynhildr is trans and while she prefers men there *are* some women who she’s undeniably attracted to.  She’s also a top but is extremely embarassed about it.  He’s not queer but Sigurd loves her for all of it because of course he does, he’s Sigurd. Scheherazade was a lesbian all her life and was given to the sultan to be his bride by her parents just to get rid of her.  When she finally incarnated in Chaldea she was incredibly cagey and tried to hide how gay she was for the entire five minutes it took until Sanzang carried Raikou down the halls with her head buried in the berserker’s cleavage.  Scheherazade is now in a relationship with Nitocris and is extremely happy about it. Nobunaga is genderfluid on a very long cycle, usually one gender for months at a time before their gender changes.  Okita Souji never identified strongly with any gender and just uses “she” out of habit.  They are very casually affectionate together and often watch movies together while naked. Ibaraki is trans but embarassed about it.  Shuten is her biggest cheer-leader both in spite of and because of how embarassed Ibaraki gets about her support. Nightingale constantly reads up on reptile husbandry so she can be the best girlfriend for her giant snake girlfriend Gorgon.  Gorgon pretends like she doesn’t find it to be the sweetest thing she’s ever seen.  Sometimes she actually succeeds in pretending. Astolfo is nonbinary for entirely self-evident reasons.  They’ve never pinned down anything more concrete than “nonbinary” and don’t see the need to try and pin down anything more than that. Mordred is a trans man and will punch your teeth out if you try and call him a woman.  Again, for entirely self-evident reasons. Nezha is autistic and gendervoid.  They aggressively oppose the notion that they even have a gender and would really rather you stop trying to suss theirs out thank you very much. Frankenstein is trans.  She’s also autistic, but her Saber incarnation has an easier time talking while her Berserker incarnation is almost entirely nonverbal, primarily speaking with echolalia when she speaks at all. Medb is EXTREMELY gay.  She loves teasing straight men, and will have sex with them, but it’s more that the act of sex is pleasurable than because she finds them attractive.  Put her around a hot lady though and she becomes an incoherent mess. Altera is trans as well and would extremely like you to stop using her dead name thank you.  She’s not entirely sure what she’s attracted to but knows some people are cute. Ereshkigal is grey-ace bi and a *completely* incoherent disaster around anyone she’s attracted to since she experiences attraction so rarely, but when she experiences it it’s STRONG. Enkidu is agender.  For self-evident reasons. Scathach and Scathach-Skadi are both gay but at a low-intensity of attraction.  Since Medb finds them hot and they think Medb is cute they trade off teasing her because watching her blush and melt is cute. Kiyohime and Elizabeth Bathory are openly in a relationship, but that’s mostly because Elizabeth has a hard time avoiding blushing whenever they’re both in a room together.  She has absolutely no poker face about it. d’Eon is a wonderful nonbinary woman and I will fight you on this. do I even have to explain how gay Anne Bonny & Mary Read are? Emiya is basically completely aro-ace.  Emiya Shirou may have gotten into sexual situations when he was younger but after growing up and becoming a servant Emiya realized that a lot of that was society insisting he had to be in a relationship instead of any actual desire on his part. I shouldn’t have to explain how Hassan of the Serenity is very bi. And finally, Ushiwakamaru is trans, and very happy to be a Servant because she was able to incarnate into a female body at long last. And that’s all of the ones I can think of right now.  There’s probably a few more queer headcanons I’ve got kicking around somewhere but they probably involve servants not actively in my Chaldea so I forgot about them.
