11 - “it’s not too scary, is it?” || patton plame

Patton’s voice rang out across the courtyard, calling your name. You can already imagine how he looks, right now - brow tight, hurriedly wheeling over to the kitchen to confront you. The mental image nearly breaks your nonchalant expression, but you force down the smile. Try to act innocent.

As he enters the kitchen, he says your name again. So you turn to face him. “What’s up?“ You ask him, voice light.

“You know what’s up,” he replies instantly. Patton stops to cross his arms, and his eyes don’t leave yours for a second. You’re the one to break contact first, looking back down to absently stir your coffee. “I roll into my office just now, all ready for the day, and you know what I find?”

Again, a smile threatens to come over your face. And it becomes especially hard when your gaze moves back up to look at Patton. “What did you find?” You ask him.

“A big ol’ skeleton with red eyes staring at me from across the room. Spiderwebs everywhere. There’s even a fucking bat hanging in the corner.” Hearing Patton get so worked up - it’s what finally made you start laughing. And he certainly didn’t appreciate that very much. “I’m being serious!”

“It’s just Halloween decorations,” you tell him, grinning. “It’s not too scary, is it?”

“Too scary?” He repeats, and then shakes his head. “Nah, it’s not scary. I’m not scared of no skeleton. What is scary is that you thought it was a good idea to just walk into my fortress-”

“Your fortress?”

“And start hanging up vampire bats like you own the place.”

Your smile is still there, but it’s softer now as you push away from the counter and approach Patton. He’s still watching you, trying to keep a stern expression. At least until you lean over and kiss him. Something so simple that immediately lends forgiveness because Patton is a lot softer than he’s willing to admit.

You back away, smirking. “Just trying to get into the Halloween spirit. If you don’t like the decorations, I can take them down...”

“No,” Patton says. And then he gives a tiny huff. “But next time, don’t hang up so many damn spiderwebs. For all I know, one of them can be real.”

It was some kind of miracle that your phone didn’t have a single scratch on it while your body was as beaten as it was.

You flipped it around in your hands, tapped the screen, checked your texts; anything to put off the inevitable. Also, you hoped that pretending you were busy would distract from the ache in your body.

It was frustrating, how easy that guy got the jump on you. Even with your weapon and years of experience, he was able to win the fight and get away. Definitely not your proudest hour, and not one you were keen on telling the rest of the team tomorrow.

But your self-deprecating thoughts were interrupted by a sharp prick of pain on your temple. When your head ducked away immediately, the nurse who’d been treating you gripped your chin and set your head back straight. “Stay still, darlin’. Can’t clean the cut if you’re jumpin’ around, like that.” She scolds lightly.

You huffed, eyeing the older woman as best you can from this position. “It hurts.” You reply, ignoring how petulant you might sound. But you figured after a rotten night like this, you were allowed some petulance.

But the nurse smiles lightly, the corner of her eyes wrinkling. “That means it’s gettin’ clean.”

A hum comes up as a response before your eyes flicker back down to your phone. The screen lights up, and you focus on the time - 9:43.

“Are you ‘sposed to be callin’ someone with that?” The old nurse asks, her hands pulling away so she can open up a bandage.

Your shoulders slouch at the question. “Yeah. The lady at the desk said I needed someone to come pick me up. But it’s pretty late...”

“Does anyone know you’re here for gettin’ your ass kicked?”

Her choice of words elicit a huff of laughter, but you shake your head.

The nurse hums at that, her hands returning to their duty of caring for your wounds. “Well, I’m sure someone’d be worried sick about you. And I’m sure they’d come down here, even in the dead of night.” She expertly slides the bandage over the cut, patting it down with care. “Am I wrong?”

She wasn’t. And your silence answered the question. You knew one person in particular who would be royally pissed if you were in the hospital and didn’t call them. You’d never hear the end of it if you just took a cab home and kept quiet.

The older woman lightly patted your cheek, avoiding any bruises, and left the room to leave you to your phone call. It wasn’t a very hard decision on who to call. But your finger still hovered over their name, pushing down the guilt of calling so late before finally pressing it. Because really? Seeing them would make the night a lot better.

Morse Code

Anon requested I usually talk to my friends through morse code in class but… apparently, you know morse too… and now you know I think your butt is cute AU- with Seb, Patton, and Tammy talks through Morse Code in the classroom and boom a new student Reader and Sonja snatched a note from Seb (also knows morse code and hey I heard ya talking about her ass) and Reader immediately get flustered and Tammy gets detention for being a disruption in Mr Isler's class?      

It was an average day for you and your group of friends, you were sitting in the back of Mr Isler's classroom when the principal walked in with a new student. The minute you laid eyes on her, your pulse quickened a little and you were positive that those sitting closest to you could as well. "Good-mornin' class, Ah would like ta introduce ya to our new student Y/N Y/L/N, she's just moved here from DC and we want ta wish her all the best on her journey here at school with us" Principal Pride says, you can't help but blush a little as Y/N makes eye contact with you and you can see the clearest of blue eyes meet your brown ones for just a couple of seconds before she looks away. You let out the breath you didn't know you had been holding before Mr Isler welcomes her to the class and then directs her towards the desk directly in front of your own desk, next to your friend Sonja. As she sits in the seat in front of you, you catch a glimpse of the beautifully shaped buttocks, before she sits down. As soon as Mr Isler starts the class you write out a message to your friends, knowing that Sebastian and Patton are able to understand the message you're telling them, but as you hand it across to Patton, Sonja snatches it and leans over to show Y/N after she reads it through herself. You see Y/N turn to you and smile brightly with a blush,  and Sonja cracks up laughing and says "This is fantastic, she can understand morse code" you blush the deepest shade of red before you look up and see Mr Isler looking directly at you and he says "Miss Gregorio, Miss Percy, I expect to see the two of you at detention, 3.30pm sharp," he says before turning back to the whiteboard. You sigh before putting your head in your arms in shame. "Good first impression Tammy," you think to yourself as you try to hide from embarrassment.

Anon requested “I don’t know why you don’t like this outfit on you. You look splendid.” with Patton?

"Ugh, this is wrong," you say as you try on the blue dress you had discarded about twenty minutes ago when your boyfriend had still been in the room. It was a blue dress, that fit your body perfectly, Patton had been right. You fiddled with the necklace around your neck as you looked at your reflection in the mirror. You were nervous, so very nervous. Tonight was the night that you were going to meet your boyfriends' colleagues, you knew how much these guys meant to him and so that puts even more pressure on you, though you had lost count of how many times he had reassured you that you would be great and that you would love his friends. You hear the all too familiar sound of his wheelchair on your wooden floor and turn to him a nervous smile on your face “I don’t know why you don’t like this outfit on you. You look splendid,” he says and you walk over to him before kneeling in front of him "Whatever you say babe" you whisper before giving him a quick kiss on the lips. He smiles as you rise to your full height and the two of you make your way out of your apartment and head towards the bar that he had told you his boss had brought a couple of years ago.
