Who proposed? - Lazslo. But Patricia was very embarrassed with his propose. In short, she was afraid of marriage’ cause she wasn’t ready for it and simply didn’t see herself as a wife and mother Who is the braid’s maid(s)? - Madison and Makalya (Lazslo’s sisters) even though they were against Patricia at first  Who did the most planning? - Lazslo of course. Patricia didn’t even had a clue. Cooking:

Who does the most cooking? - Mostly Lazslo ‘cause Patricia is quite awful in cooking Who is the most picky in their food choice? - Patricia. She is very particular about food because she needs to keep fit Who does the grocery shopping? - They do it together. Moreover Lazslo has to keep an eye on Patricia in the store because she still has the habit of stealing things How often do they bake desserts? - Once at Christmas Patricia decided to made cupcakes in form of snowmen... Lazslo spent a week tormented by poisoning Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - At first I wanted to headcanon Patricia as a vegetarian but I forgot that gymnasts need protein to be strong. So I guess they eat both Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - Patricia when she wants to impress Lazslo. But most frequently it turns out a catastroff Who is more likely to suggest going out? - Patricia. She was the first who suggest to go for a date (after Lazslo and Teresa’s break-up). Chores:

Who cleans the room? - Lazslo is a genius and always keeps his stuff in a huge mess. Patricia displeased with that but understands he is incorrigible Who is really against chores? - Lazslo a little bit because after cleaning he can’t find most of his inventions Who cleans up after the pets? - Patricia. She always brings cats from the outside Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? - LAZSLO. He wants to finish with cleaning as fast as possible to return to his inventions Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? - Patricia. She is not really a people-person Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - Patricia. And she takes it. 

Misc:

Who takes the longer showers/baths? - BOTH. They love to sing in the shower How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? - Patricia likes to make Lazslo angry by hanging a lot of Christmas junk in his laboratory What are their goals for the relationship? - They are soulmates. I think I’m going to make it canon for my Barbieverse that Spy Squad was really just a test for Barbie, Teresa, and Renee... I have gone back and forth on it for years but I keep coming back to it so I’m just gonna go for it

this has the added bonus of Dunbar not being evil, so I can use him elsewhere (he’s gonna get transferred to the Windemere branch and be like the Jim Gordon aka the one fucking guy who isn’t corrupt there). also a bonus is that Patricia can work for I3 with no problem, she just has to lay low for awhile until they reveal it to the 3 girls that it was actually just a test. this also means her and Lazslo know each other already and I can work with that. I think her official job may be, ahem, recovery expert, as in she really was stealing stuff... but like, so that it could be locked up. idk I’m going back and forth on it, I’ll figure it out. but she gets a desk job while Barbie & co get trained up so they don’t cross paths. said desk job means she can sneak away from her desk a lot and go bother Lazslo for no reason at all.

2. Do they have any daily rituals?

He lays out his clothes the night before and has his coffee pot on a timer, so he can just get up, get dressed, get his coffee and leave in short order, so before he goes to bed at night he makes sure all those things are set up.

7. Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time

Video games, mostly, but he doesn’t think of them as a waste so much as much needed decompression. He can’t focus on work all the time or he’ll drive himself crazy.

16. Biggest and smallest long term goal?

Once he learns about his fairy heritage, it kind of shakes up his world bc magic is real. He himself is magic. It’s a lot to process so he sets about trying to understand magic’s rules (if it has any), and where it comes from. After learning about the Fairytopia mainland from Rip Summers, he sets about trying to create a machine that can dimension hop from Earth to Fairytopia (there are other ways to get there, but they’re pretty complicated and/or dangerous, and under close watch by Gloss Angeles’ high council, who does NOT want ppl poking around there). Eventually, once he goes to test out his machine, it doesn’t work... but he does travel through another dimension, time, and in the future he learns from his great-nephew Morton that he is famous in that time for proving that Fairytopia is not actually another dimension, but another planet on the other side of the Milky Way. So when he returns to his own time, he sets about trying to somehow, impossibly, prove that. (He has to lie and say that the idea came to him in a dream bc he doesn’t want anyone else knowing about time travel. And it’s a paradox, besides.) After he’s done that he starts time traveling again and learning about different things but it’s more to observe humanity’s (and others’, as they explore more of the Milky Way and beyond) progress, not to go back and prove anything.

23. How organized are they? How does this organization/disorganization manifest in their everyday life?

He is pretty organized. Sometimes this manifests itself in organized chaos, but not usually. As I said before, he sets out his clothes beforehand and sets up his coffee so it’s ready to go. He makes his bed every morning. He leaves and returns home every day at pretty much the same time, to the point that if he doesn’t it’s something to worry about.

27. What is their biggest regret?

Inventing time travel. It opens up too many possibilities that Lazslo can’t bring himself to ignore.

33. Concept of home and family?

His lab is his home, really, moreso than his apartment and way more than his childhood home (which he hates to be in bc it reminds him of his dead parents, altho that softens as he gets older). His family is Agent Dunbar and Lady Anne, who looked after him after his parents died (Dunbar being the one to recruit him into I3), as well as his sisters ofc, and Patricia. His father was an orphan, and his mother was a fairy who left her high status position bc she didn’t think that fairies should hoard magic for themselves, they should share it with humans to make everyone’s lives better, so her family doesn’t really want anything to do with him or his sisters.

47. If they were to fall in love, who (or what) is their ideal?

He wouldn’t think he would ever fall for Patricia, I can tell you that. She teases him and she’s flirty and he gets all flustered. But he genuinely likes her as a person, how confident she is, that she’s not afraid to speak her mind or disagree with him, that she can push him if he needs a push. But she is also pretty gentle beneath her tough exterior, she just doesn’t really like to get all gooey about things. They’re a pretty well-balanced pair.

48. How do they express love?

Acts of service, definitely. He gets a bit tongue-tied trying to express himself with words, but he loves to do things for people, like get them drinks/food/blankets when they don’t want to get up.

50. Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?

He is, because he lost his mother at a young age and his father dies just after the time of Spy Squad, so he kind of feels like death is hanging over his whole life. He tries to put up a cheerful front for his sisters, but losing his dad really is hard on him. He always worries about dying and leaving his sisters all alone so he makes really sure they’re set for life if anything happens to him.

10. Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such?

She sometimes worries about not being as smart as Lazslo, but he never makes her feel like he’s talking down to her. She also worries about turning out evil or crazy since it seems to run in her dad’s family.

13. Sexual Orientation? And, regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general?

I’m not sure. I think she’s very flirty in general, but I don’t know if that’s actually attraction or just liking the reactions people have. She probably doesn’t care about her orientation or anyone else’s, and she likes being flirted with no matter who it is.

19. What do they think about before falling asleep at night?

While she’s falling for Lazslo, she thinks about him and how crazy it is that she’s falling for him, of all people.

26. Do they have any plans for the future? Any contingency plans if things don’t workout?

Her plan is basically to follow Lazslo around and make sure he doesn’t get himself killed or turn into a mad scientist. (Not very likely, but with his ambitions, you can never be too sure.) She thinks about going pro with gymnastics, but she doesn’t want the pressure. She could handle it, sure, but why bother? So she basically follows what her mother did, she becomes a gymnastics teacher. (Her mother was a ballet dancer turned ballet teacher.) She teaches children as a civilian and helps to train agents at I3. She always has a stash of emergency cash in case she ever needs to cut and run (can’t be too prepared), but she never anticipates needing it.

30. Reaction to sudden intrapersonal disaster (eg close family member suddenly dies)

She is not really close to any of her family (aside from Grandpa Bruno), so I’m not sure. She would be sad and miss them, but she would do her crying in private and maintain a calm front in front of other people. If Lazslo (or later, her children) died, tho, she would be a complete wreck.

33. Concept of home and family?

Her home life is not the best, and she has a somewhat difficult relationship with her mother Marguerite. She has a very difficult relationship with her grandmother Lilliana, but her grandfather Bruno is really nice and she likes to hang out with him when she can. She also has a half-sister, Crystal, but she doesn’t get along with her very well. She doesn’t have much contact with her father aside from him sending her money, but they’re polite to each other. She really appreciates it when she gets folded into Lazslo’s small family, bc they’re all so comfortable with each other. Her home is where Lazslo is.

36. What makes them feel guilty?

She likes to tease people and make fun of them in a friendly way, but sometimes she goes too far and actually hurts their feelings and she agonizes about it even after she apologizes.

37. Are they more analytical or more emotional in their decision-making?

She’s very calculated. She tries to think through a lot of her decisions, even if they appear spontaneous, she’s given it some thought already. She never wants to leap without a net, if that makes sense. She will try to make the best decision even if it hurts her, if it will benefit someone else.

48. How do they express love?

She is very rarely sappy, and doesn’t often say ‘I love you’ or anything like that, and if she does, she will go right back to being teasing and mean right afterward. But she tries to anticipate others’ needs. She will force Lazslo to take a break to eat if he’s too wrapped up in his work. She’s very physical and cuddly and likes to hang on him and run her hands through his hair.

btw Morton Rise mentioned that his uncle was traveling with his true love, so I guess that was pretty romantic journey for Lazslo

I take Morton’s story with a grain of salt, like I don’t believe that’s the actual time machine that Lazslo built (it’s a teleporter), so I’ve gone back and forth on how romantic the journey really was. Part of it was trying to fit Morton’s story with Patricia and Lazslo’s personalities without making them too OOC, so having to decide why Laz liked the future and Trish the past. 

For Laz, he would be concerned about paradoxes and changing the past (altho, for my time travel purposes, time loops are ‘acceptable’ paradoxes and don’t really do anything other than be endlessly confusing), plus he just generally wants to see things he wouldn’t live to see otherwise, how science and magic advance and all. (He attempts to not time travel anymore after the first time, bc of this. But the idea is just too tantalizing and eventually he gives in and goes for it again.) For Trish, I think she’s interested in the past bc of her family history and trying to understand why ppl turn out a certain way, and she’s also interested in the history of fairies on Earth and even before that. 

And while Laz is the one to actually invent time travel, Patricia isn’t about to let him traipse off thru time by himself. (They do draw the line at involving their kids tho, and leave them securely at home with contingency plans in case they don’t come back.) So they kind of trade off between seeing the past and seeing the future as a compromise. I’m not sure how they would get separated, but if need be I could have that be just something Morton made up for the sake of his escape room plot.

my problem right now with patricia/lazslo is that I have hit another wall in my timeline/universe bc right up thru spy squad I was still trying to force Barbie’s life into a single continuity (even tho Mattel threw out continuity several years ago) and I was kinda-sorta getting away with it UNTIL Dreamhouse Adventures which is contradicting several movies (Teresa’s different appearance being a notable one--altho I still think there are multiple Teresas bc almost every time she shows up she looks different!, also the fact that the sisters were surprised that Barbie could ride a horse in Puppy Chase but apparently now they own a horse? which could have been after, but still.) and also the vlogs (Barbie mentioned in an early vlog that her parents were both writers, but now Margaret’s an engineer and George is a documentary filmmaker? not saying they can’t be writers too but like. come on.) and the vlogs already contradicted the movies. so now I’m in a weird place bc I really can’t get away with fudging the timeline anymore

my love is dearest to G2 Barbie, aka Fashion Fairytale/Fairy Secret/Perfect Christmas/Pony Tale, and I use Alice for the Summers family, which my universe actually centers around, not Barbie herself. so that means that Alice can’t go anywhere.

but then! I also put Lazslo as Madison and Makayla’s brother, and while they’re not in the Summers family, I do have a lot of headcanons tied up in Windemere I need them for (like, you know, their parents being murdered and stuff) so I need Spy Squad, at the very least, even if I don’t take anything else as ‘canon’ to what I’m doing. I also quite like Morton Rise and canonized his whole bit, which is another pickle, because he’s from Dreamhouse Adventures and keeping THAT canon raises a bunch of other issues.

I’ve got Jonas from Pony Tale tangled up in quite a few headcanons.

I also like Dreamtopia a lot, which doesn’t really ‘fit’ with anything else, even tho it came up in the vlogs. I haven’t really gone into it yet but I was planning something with it and Nod and the Dream Witch.

I have a few options here

just keep doing what I’m doing and like, ignore the fact that it doesn’t make sense at all

keep only Spy Squad, Dreamtopia, and the one episode of Dreamhouse Adventures ‘canon’ and ignore everything else from G3/3.5/4 (I can’t decide what gen I think we’re in now, we’re in a weird middling place)

create and use AU versions of Alice, Jonas, Lazslo, Patricia, and Morton Rise (and anyone else I end up needing) that never actually interact with Barbie, so whatever she’s doing doesn’t matter or impact them at all, and whatever fuckery Mattel throws me in the future doesn’t matter. the problem with this one is I feel like it would get confusing/annoying quickly, saying, ‘oh, this isn’t Alice, this is au Alice who never met Barbie and doesn’t work for Millicent’

try to separate the different Barbie’s into “different” Barbie’s lives, like, just happens to be another girl named Barbie. I think I might get away with Fashion Fairytale and Fairy Secret being another Barbie, bc I don’t think? she says her last name at any point, and her sisters aren’t there. Perfect Christmas and Pony Tale could possibly be future Dreamhouse Adventures Barbie, but that would kind of mess up my timeline with Jonas. this one also feels the most like a cop-out, saying, oh that wasn’t Barbie Roberts, that was other Barbie, especially another Barbie with a Ken. but it’s an option, I guess.

my very least favorite thought was blaming it on the dimensional collapse (something I’m considering doing in the future, collapsing my 3 dimensions--Earth, Fairytopia, and the Land of Nod--into a singularity. I go back and forth on whether this is necessary to explain the SLA future), as in one was the pre-collapse timeline (G2) which was ripple-affected into another timeline (G3/3.5/4) but that’s very mind-breaking and I really don’t want to do that

It was already kind of mind-breaking having (G2) Barbie exist alongside all the movies she ‘acted’ in but I kind of ignored it and pretended they’re all B-movies (no pun intended) about historical or current events, or whatever.

but yeah that’s like... been my biggest roadblock to Lazslo and Patricia tbh. I said awhile ago that I was gonna have G3 (GPA onward) be another timeline, or whatever I said, but then I remembered that I needed Lazslo and Patricia still, and now I need Morton too. so it just sucks! bc idk what to do! anyway that’s where my thoughts are at these days and I’m stuck with them and that’s why I haven’t been writing for them at all
