✏️ — how long have you been roleplaying on tumblr?

It will be 11 years come this December! My friend had a tumblr for most of 2012, so I am familiar with the landscape of the website from that time, but the only reason I didn't have one is because I couldn't think of a url/I didn't want to make my on blog XD So my friend sat me down on December 22, 2012 and made a blog for me (after we went to a Steam Powered Giraffe concert with a guest drummer named Matthew Smith the night before. It felt very Doctor Who to watch a concert on 12-21-2012.)

It was for a super minor character named Detective Inspector Dimmock (no first name in show, but I named him Iain after seeing someone call him that in a fic, I think). I'd been writing fanfic on fanfiction.net and RPing him on d.eviantArt from 2011-2012, so I'd already given him a voice of his own by then.

I RPed him for 4-5 years, I think, even when balancing other blogs. I miss him lots, and if I ever write any original work, I'm gonna change his name and add since he's basically my OC anyway XD

in hindsight, it probably would have been a smart idea to refill his travel-sized bottle of shampoo before flying across the atlantic ocean. in henry's defense, however, it had originally been enough for the planned duration of his trip, if not for his certain thief of a boyfriend, whom he loves dearly yet isn’t too pleased with at the current moment. it doesn’t stop him from having to resist the urge to smile upon hearing alex’s response, of course, but he hardly needs nor is willing to admit such a thing.

“alex,” henry whines, always a little dramatic even when appropriately called for. he emerges from the hotel bathroom with the now-empty bottle in one hand, the other on his hip as he frowns at alex for good measure. “i don’t have any more of this with me, and you can’t even buy this particular brand at all in america. don't you have your own to use?”

Selene and Alex meet on a blind date.Alex wants to go on another date, but Selene isn't sure.

Selene had a pretty good time on the date, all things considered. Truthfully, she hadn’t been on an actual one in a bit, but that was because she preferred it that way. Lately, she was more into just kind of going with the flow and enjoying her life for what it was. Always the free spirit that didn’t like to be tied down. When the blind date had been set up, he wasn’t what she was expecting at all. Not in a bad way, just a surprising way. He was the president’s kid after all. She wasn’t a stranger to the high society type of world, she had been with plenty of powerful men and women growing up. But this was a new one. So when the idea of a second date is brought up as dessert is being set down, she’s a little caught off guard. “Can’t a girl finish her dessert before she’s asked out again?” She teasingly responds, playing off the question.

3) Who are your longest rp friends?

oh GOSH - okay, there's a couple gems who make this list. first of all there's @ofeyes, who introduced me to mj so you all have her to blame for my tomfoolery. and there's also @vv1tchcraft and @sunxsin who have BOTH either played or sat through full play throughs of spider-man 1 out of love for me. i met them all when i returned to tumblr rp in january 2021 after taking several years off and it's no lie when i say i talk to them DAILY. rue is a pain in my entire ass and charlie and kay have all but lived at my house MULTIPLE times when we all need mental health breaks. these hoes might be from different area codes, but they're some of my best friends in the world. but i also recently reconnected with @theoriginalbadass and @patientlyloves, who have writing with me in other fandoms since 2012 and 2015/16 respectively (!!!) damn we're old but also how lovely to have grown with these people

4) Favourite thing about roleplaying?

the friendships ❤️ even if we're not writing all the time, making genuine FRIENDS who care about me and check in on me is the biggest gift of all. not that everyone needs to be besties to play together in the rpc, but the ones that ARE? that care and energy bleeds into the characters, you know? like it just makes the whole thing so much more REWARDING because you know the person on the other end loves you to bits and is as excited as you are for everything that you do.

11) Would you write with duplicate characters? How do you think your muse would react?

that's the beauty of the spider-verse. you not only can, it's ENCOURAGED ❤️ i actually do write her quite frequently opposite @spinxeret and have a BLAST doing it. i'm not comfortable with her having the same fc as other mjs, since that just feels ... eh, ick on a personal level? but throw any other redhead girlie at me, mj wants to form a club

You've been left beaten down and by someone you really trusted and loved, so now love doesn't come easy for you. You want it to. You want to love and be loved, but you're not sure you remember how. So you need someone else to take the lead. They have to be gentle and sweet and patient. They have to watch out for you, and make sure you're doing okay, because most days you feel a little fragile, if not totally shattered. But someone will come along who will put those pieces back together again.

henry, in a shocking turn of events deemed nothing short of unseemly for a prince, has become a rather big fan of texan dive bars. he thinks, perhaps, it’s because it’s so laughably far removed from what he should be doing with his precious time that makes it so appealing, although all the more likely, it’s simply because he’s here with alex.

alex, who is due back from the bathroom at any moment, henry left to sit at the bar by himself as he waits, sipping on cheap margarita with amy posted up behind him on one side of the establishment, and reginald on the other. then, a warmly familiar voice sounds without warning over his shoulder, and henry really shouldn’t have expected anything less.

turning in his rickety barstool seat, one leg crossed over the other, henry arches an eyebrow up at alex. he allows his eyes to travel up and down the full expanse of his body in a very purposeful way before easily falling into the act.

“well, you’re awfully forward, aren’t you?” he muses with an exaggerated huff, feigning indifference as he tilts his head slightly. “do you lead with that towards every lonely bloke you happen to come across? why, for all you know, i’m waiting for my boyfriend to return at any given moment. do you really wish to take such a risk?”

“Do you think anyone noticed?”

in hindsight, perhaps they truly are their own worst enemies. it doesn’t exactly take a rocket scientist to come to the conclusion that sneaking off mid-formal party to make out in an empty room isn’t the smartest idea in the world, but in their defense, they haven’t seen each other for quite a while, and as they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder.

evidently, it also makes their intense desire for each other grow wilder, and there was simply nothing they could do to keep their hands to themselves in such close proximity. clothes and hair had quickly been disheveled, although they’d done their best to compose themselves before heading back into the fray of highly distinguished people in order to keep their little scandal under wraps.

of course, in kissing each other senseless, they’d gotten thoroughly carried away. as luck would have it, it’s only after spending the rest of the night mingling with countless guests and acting as innocent as they can be, that henry manages to notice the glaring, purple hickey on alex’s neck in plain sight of undoubtedly everyone else in the building.

“christ, alex,” he breathes out in a rush once he’s brought the predicament to the other man’s attention, whisking him out of view to try and tug the collar of his dress shirt up higher in a poor attempt to cover it even though the damage has almost certainly already been done. “the bloody space station could notice it. i-i could have sworn i’d been far more careful, i- damnit-”

there’s an instant little thrill that shoots up henry’s spine once alex has a fistful of ( definitely his own ) hoodie gathered in his hand. always hopelessly weak for his boyfriend, henry hardly shies away or resists against the following tug, rather using the action as an incentive for him to step closer, smug grin plastered across his face as he cocks his head in false consideration. it's one thing that has barely changed about their relationship, as much as practically everything else has, and they've both long-since learned that the bantering which founded their initial connection wouldn't be nearly as fun unless they kept it going for as long as possible.

“hmmm, do you, now?” henry muses in his light, airy tone of playfulness, as if he has to think at all about such a particular coincidence. “well, that is rather strange, isn’t it? i suppose that simply must mean we're both awfully honored to be associated with the lovely state of texas. i happen to have some very important connections from there, you know..."

why of course not, darling, this most certainly is not your ‘texas proud’ hoodie i’m currently wearing. i’ve clearly owned this my entire life!

          alex  never  has  a  problem  with  henry  wearing  his  clothes;  he’ll  never  complain.  in  fact,  there’s  a�� part  of  him  who’ll  always  like  it.  henry  is  cute—well,  he’s  always  cute—but  alex  would  dare  to  say  that  there’s  something  even  more  endearing  to  that  cuteness  whenever  he  finds  that  henry  has  “stolen”  an  item  of  his  clothing.  it’s  okay  though;  alex  would  dare  to  say  that  his  clothes  look  even  better  on  henry  than  they  do  himself.

          even  so,  he’s  still  reaching  over  to  grasp  at  henry’s  chest  and  giving  the  hoodie  a  light  tug  as  he  responds,  “ oh,  yeah ?  well,  what  are  the  odds  of  that ?  i  have  one  exactly  like  it. ”
