Where will be the exam conducted?

Till 2010, the exam was conducted at the 4 patent offices of India, namely, Delhi (in Dwarka, Delhi NCR), Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai. But as the number of applicants is increasing in 2019, the Patent Office allotted college and university centres for conducting the exam. So, it is expected to be the same in the future. The Centre is mentioned in the admit card you will receive via mail from the Indian Patent Office.

There is no maximum number of allowed attempts notified by the Indian Patent Office till date i.e. you may appear for the exam as many times as you wish and until you qualify as a Registered Patent Agent.

Following is the abstract from Official Notification for 2022 Patent Agent Exam. This should answer this question.

How to apply?

Applications in the prescribed proforma and enclosures along with the prescribed fee of Rs.1600/- (Rupees One Thousand and Six Hundred Only) in the form of D.D. in the favour of “Controller of Patents” payable at Mumbai should be sent to “The Controller General of Patents, Designs and TradeMarks”, Boudhik Sampada Bhawan, S.M. Road, Antop Hill, Mumbai 400 037” so as to reach on or before 22th November 2021 which is the last date for receiving the application. Envelopes containing the application should be clearly marked on top as “Patent Agent Examination — 2022.”

i. Self-attested copy of proof of age;

iii. Two copies of self-attested passport size photographs

There is no syllabus prescribed by the government in the notifications

Rule 110 of Section 126 the Patent Act 1970 which govern the Patent Agent Examination part says:

110. Particulars of the qualifying examination for patent agents. — (1) The qualifying examination referred to in clause © (ii) of sub-section (1) of section 126 shall consist of a written test and a viva voce examination.

(2) The qualifying examination shall consist of the following papers and marks, namely:

Paper T Patents Act and Rules 100 Paper II — Drafting and interpretation of patent

Specifications and other documents. 100

Viva Voice : 100

(3) The qualifying marks for each written paper and for the viva voice examination shall be fifty per cent each, and a candidate shall be declared to have passed the Indian Institute of Patent and Trademark examination only if he obtains an aggregate of sixty percent of the qualifying marks.

According to me:

1) Not all the sections are asked in the exam, there are some particular important sections which are always asked.

2) But as the trends are changing objective type question can be asked on pinpointed sections and rules of Patent Act 1920

3) Case Study type questions have become a very important part of the paper 2 now. External guidance might be needed. If you are trying to make your own case studies try to incorporate as many sections as possible in a single case study to make it complex. This way you will get used to understanding what should happen if more than just 1 condition is applied in real life situations.

4) Patent drafting ability is a very important part for qualifying the exam and sometimes you will really need guidance on this part.

5) Viva Voice is again an important part of the exam.

Questions which cannot be discussed in the written paper are asked in the viva. Both pinpointed and purely subjective questions are asked by the examiners. Having a question bank can help. Also understand by making you a Registered Patent Agent — government is making you an extension of itself to help in the work which it cannot do as there are only 4 patent offices in India and the demand for Patent professionals is too high. So they are expecting you to be able to help clients or other inventors in the filing procedure — again real life case studies can be asked.

6) All in all, clearing the Patent Agent Exam means you completely understand the rights and duties of an inventor or researcher with respect to the invention and also that of the government towards these inventors. You will be a Government agent helping it file patents for inventors and helping them increase the scope of their invention.

Come NON pagare il bollo, l’assicurazione e la manutenzione della propria auto

Per quanto ognuno di noi provi a risparmiare e fare acquisti con giudizio, l’uso dell’auto personale è senza ombra di dubbio un costo e pure parecchio pesante per le tasche di molti di noi.

L’auto in molti casi ci serve e difficilmente riusciamo a farne a meno ma è anche vero, se ci pensi bene che l’auto il più delle volte la lasci ferma sotto casa a meno che tu non sia un agente di commercio, un tassista o qualcuno che l’auto la usa come vero e proprio strumento di lavoro.

L’auto, il 90% del tempo sta ferma. Pazzesco! Noi paghiamo migliaia di euro per acquistarla e migliaia di euro l’anno per mantenerla.

Non mi dire: “Hai scoperto l’acqua calda” !

Vabbè starò anche dicendo una cosa banale ma rimane il fatto che ciascuno di noi butta via ogni anno migliaia di euro per avere un’auto propria e su questo non ci piove.

Ok, mi dirai, ma allora il titolo così pomposo, aspetti ancora molto per spiegarlo o devo cliccare altrove su un’altro sito!

Un minimo di introduzione andava fatta se non altro per inquadrare il problema.

Ma eccoci al dunque: hai mai sentito parlare di CONDIVISIONE DELL’AUTO TRA PRIVATI?

Beh, in effetti detta così sembra una banalità, tutti noi abbiamo prestato la propria auto ad amici, parenti, ecc.

Ma se questi prestiti, fatti ovviamente col cuore, li facessi con persone che non conosci o conosci poco chiedendo loro un piccolo rimborso spese?

Ci hai mai pensato?

Sì lo so, mi dirai, la mia auto non la guida nessuno a parte me e se proprio necessario in casi straordinari, super eccezionali (tipo pistola alla testa)  la potrei dare solo a qualcuno che mi è molto vicino, qualcuno di fidato.

Allora se proprio attaccato alla tua auto come un bambino al suo peluche?!!!

Ok! In questo caso, forse questa notizia non fa al caso tuo, ti capisco, è nell’animo umano tipico di noi italiani. Ci possono toccare tutto a parte la propria auto. Nulla di male, ero anche io così.

Però.

Sarà l’età che avanza, sarà che le cose che un tempo erano importanti ora lo sono diventate meno e altre hanno preso il loro posto, la mia auto, sebbene mi rimanga ancora in fondo al cuore il culto dell’auto la vedo come un semplice strumento, da tenere bene e in ordine ma come uno strumento, un veicolo che mi aiuta nella mia vita quotidiana, nulla di più.

Con il cambio di mentalità sono cambiate anche le priorità e se prima il costo complessivo di acquisto e mantenimento dell’auto non mi pesava più di tanto in quanto la consideravo quasi di famiglia, ora con una visione più obiettiva e forse anche più matura, non posso fare a meno di trovare il modo per spendere il meno possibile su questo “centro di costo”.

Durante uno dei miei ultimi viaggi in Spagna e Francia ho scoperto una idea tanto banale quanto geniale.

Loro, sì i nostri cuginetti francesi e spagnoli, si erano messi a prestare l’auto tra privati cittadini con un piccolo rimborso spesa tramite delle piattaforme online come getaround.com e, LEGGI BENE: ci guadagnavano abbastanza soldi per coprire tutte o quasi le spese di gestione della propria auto mentre chi le usava in prestito poteva godere di diversi vantaggi rispetto ai noleggi tradizionali.

Hai un’auto privata che non ha più di 15 anni, con una assicurazione che abbia la “Giuda Libera” e hai più di 21 anni?

Crea un account su auting.it e vai alla sezione “pubblica la tua auto”.

Carica tutti i dati che vengono richiesti… ci vuole un po di tempo ma lo fai una volta sola. Di solito bastano 15 minuti del tuo preziosissimo tempo.

Fissa il prezzo di condivisione giornaliera che ritieni più giusto per la tua auto (ricorda che più è basso maggiore sono le possibilità di condividerla).

Configura il calendario della disponibilità della tua auto (magari sai in anticipo quando la tua auto è sicuramente ferma)

Completa il tuo profilo personale, parlando un po di te e la descrizione della tua auto (più è minuziosa, meglio è).

D: Non sembra complicato, ma dimmi e dopo se mi arriva una richiesta? Che faccio? Mi fido, non mi fido, insomma che succede dopo?

R: All’inizio ti devo dire la verità, ero molto preoccupato anche io, ma alla fine, come ti dicevo all’inizio, l’auto è uno strumento come tanti altri, l’importante è che io non abbia problemi di nessun tipo. La mia prima volta alla fine è stato facile:

Mi è arrivata una richiesta per qualche giorno dopo da un tizio che voleva la mia auto per 2 giorni.

Prima di confermare la condivisione ho guardato il suo profilo e quali recensioni avesse e ho visto che in diversi gli avevano prestato l’auto senza alcun problema e con soddisfazione, in più aveva 5 stelle.

Lui mi ha subito contattato via chat privata di auting.it presentandosi e spiegando per quale motivo gli serviva l’auto.

2 chiacchiere di cortesia tra utente auting.it ed è partito con la mia auto.

Il giorno della consegna, stessa scena e tanti ringraziamenti.

3 giorni dopo mi è arrivato un bonifico in banca con il 70% dell’importo che aveva pagato l’utente che mi aveva preso l’auto.

D: Ma dimmi, quindi alla fine quanto hai guadagnato?

R: Beh, io avevo messo la mia Golf a 30 euro al giorno. Lui l’ha presa per 2 giorni, quindi ha speso 60 euro e io ho ricevuto in banca dopo soli 3 giorni, 42 euro, senza fare praticamente nulla. Ovviamente mi ha riconsegnato l’auto con la stessa quantità di benzina con cui l’avevo lasciata a lui.

Quindi PENSA:

In un anno, se la condivido per 60 giorni (solo 2 mesi su 12), guadagno circa 1260 euro con cui alla fine ci pagherò sicuramente bollo e assicurazione.

Potrei anche considerare di condividerla anche di più e azzerare completamente i costi di gestione della mia auto.

D: In effetti hai ragione non sarebbe così difficile e se ci prendi la mano potresti andare anche oltre, ma che sbattimento però! Non credi?

R: Vero, un minimo devi mettere anche del tuo, tipo incontrarsi con gli utenti che prendono la tua auto o mantenerla in perfetto ordine ma parliamo veramente di pochissimo tempo alla fine se ci pensi bene. 

Se per te è uno sbattimento tutto questo? Trovami tu qualcosa che ti faccia guadagnare 1260 euro con qualche ora di lavoro (sempre che lo possiamo chiamare lavoro…)

Ripeto se per te questo è uno sbattimento, allora questa soluzione non fa proprio al caso tuo e mi dispiace che sei arrivato fin qui a leggere.

This enables customers to start online but move their support request or query over to a more convenient channel, such as their favourite mobile messaging app, which, of course, can go with them. Put simply, the idea is to eliminate the painful experience of starting a web chat with a company, only to be placed in a queue until you decide to close your web browser and try again later or elect to give up entirely.

“People think of live chat as a ‘live’ channel, but [there’s] no ability to jump to other channels,” MessageBird founder and CEO Robert Vis tells me. “People still have to wait with a browser window open for a response during peak times. At launch, Omnichannel Chat Widget integrates with all major e-commerce platforms, such as Shopify, Woocommerce, Bigcommerce and Magento, as well as a number of on-demand and logistics platforms. And just like Inbox, the chat widget it built on top of the company’s “Flow Builder” software and therefore includes optional AI-powered chatbots, FAQ bots, and various other third-party integrations. It also includes a channel-agnostic chat history so that handovers can happen efficiently.

In addition, Omnichannel Chat Widget syncs seamlessly with Inbox, meaning every message, across every channel is aggregated in one Inbox window internally on the business side, “while the customer enjoys flexibility to use their preferred channels at their convenience,” explains Vis. Noteworthy, MessageBird has filed for a provisional patent for the technology behind the widget.

Also similar to Inbox, small businesses will be able to use the widget for free while larger businesses pay for add-ons. More broadly, MessageBird is attempting to drag the external communications software industry away from a per-seat model to conversation-based pricing. Vis says this is partly because MessageBird has already seen Inbox used by customer-facing staff far beyond just support agents and argues a per-seat model penalises companies that want to a adopt a more collaborative approach to customer service.

“I’m just tired of this world of waiting on-hold on the phone, waiting for response to an email or especially waiting for live-chat customer support to get back to me,” adds the MessageBird founder. “I want to message with a business in the same way that I message my friends, but I also want those businesses to be able to get back to me via message so I can get on with my day. Stop wasting my time keeping me on hold with bad customer service. Time is the most precious thing we all have in this world and MessageBird won’t stop till we fix this problem”.

Zooming out further, Vis says the launch of Omnichannel Chat Widget sees MessageBird complete its pivot from a Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) to the world’s “first and only Omni-channel Platform as a Service (OPaaS)”. In a messaging-first world, where big tech such as Facebook, Apple and Google are doubling down on messaging, companies will need to operate seamlessly across channels.

“This is not trivial,” adds Vis. “As a CPaaS platform, MessageBird was opening up legacy communication channels by turning them into APIs for other companies to use… With the launch of this product, we have pivoted into building new omni-channel products on top of a fully integrated platform. Because to really be at the forefront of driving omni-channel into the mainstream, you ultimately need to reach consumers directly and Omnichannel Chat Widget is the first product to do that”.
