Thank you so much everyone for all the love on the past couple of posts about this quilt! Have been thinking up a name and went down a real rabbit hole about coral reproduction and then plant and animal reproduction in general ... and so I present ... the Parthenos Quilt (in Living Coral). I've loved seeing all the amazing entries so far for #pantonequilt2019 and now I'm off to enter this one in the "Just the top" category. I spent my sewing time this weekend doing some exercises from Josef Albers' Interaction of Color. There is something very relaxing about playing around with color for its own sake without worrying about how it might feed into a specific pattern or creating some larger finished project. ... though of course, in the end the exercises sparked tons of other ideas. I wrote up instructions for the simple block that I made based on Chapter 4, which is all about experimenting with how colors influence one another.
