Day 1 Sermon

I’ve never watched or listen to anything from Elevation Church, but I have heard about it. I think I’ve heard a few songs from Elevation Worship and I believe I read that they are the worship ministry from elevation church. I just went on YouTube and decided this would be the sermon that I would watch for today. 

Let me say it did not disappoint! The message was wonderful and you can tell that pastor Furtick understands the power and authority that God has and he definitely gives him the glory and honor that He deserves.

"Calling"

This past few days i feel bad and empty.

I kept on asking myself "what have I done that brings Joy to the Lord?" and I have no answers to give. I always feel empty because I kept on looking in my calling without telling Jesus about that.

Until I found a video of preaching about calling. That video helps me a lot and was enlightened. The preaching is all about samuel who called 3 times by God and still don't have an idea that it's God who calls him. He goes to a wrong person for 3 times because he doesn't know God.

Maybe I am like samuel, I still don't know the voice of God. So I will still seek Him until I'll knew Him by who He really are.

P.s According to the video of Pastor Furtick we don't need to find our calling, calling itself who will find us.

The joy of the Lord is my strength

There’s this common misconception that other people are in control of our joy. That they determine our happiness. If we’re not surrounded by certain people or if the wrong people say a simple bad thing that pushed you to the top, we automatically have a bad day. 

There are those moments as well in which the very sight of someone automatically makes everything seem dismal. Our smiles drop. We tend to hand over our power to people who doesn't even deserve it. We allow ourselves to be controlled.

Everyone does it. If they didn't, then it wouldn't be common now would it?

However, there is a remedy/cure to all of this: THE JOY OF THE LORD

Once we discover this joy, there's no other joy in the world that can compare. We get to decide what type of day we’re going to have not based on the way we woke up this morning but the fact that we ARE ALIVE.

And the source of our very breath and joy comes from God himself.  

“This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

“Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.”

“When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.”

What these scriptures tells us is that our joy comes from God and he’s the only one that can give us this type of joy in which we can smile in the face of tragedy, laugh in the face of heartache and scream in joy at the edge of frustration.

The chaotic world we’re living in cannot offer us peace or a sound mind, but God stands with open arms waiting for us to come and get it.
