Hello! I'm Letícia and in this post you will see:

My headcanon of the families of the Swat Kats characters! part 1!

(not all because the majority are extras and some I just didn't have any ideas for, like Pastmaster and Dr. Viper)

Last week I made some drawings of what I think the families of five Swat Kats characters look like, the order may seem a bit random but the explanation is a bit confusing and it's not necessary at all to understand this post, anyway, let's get started!

1) Chance "T-bone" Furlong!

Ancestral!

Ruby, was one of the great knights of Megalith Kingdom (kingdom because for me it matches more than City) but his reason for wanting to be a knight was not very noble, since he only wanted to be a knight to be close to a certain kat~ he was and is remembered as a strong and resilient warrior, and there is a large tapestry of him in the museum, next to his sword

Amora Furlong, Chance's mother, is a polite and calm kat who lives in Mega Kat City since her husband passed away, Amora only gets stressed when it comes to her son, whether when he was a child, and read comics for free from Pop Perkins, or adult, who almost had a heart attack when he mistook T-bone for Chance

2) Jack "Razor" Clawson!

Sapphire, one of the knights of Megalith Kingdom, intelligent and cunning, surprised many by fighting so well despite being blind in one eye, he is Ruby's best childhood friend, and once he and Ruby were almost killed by Pastmaster, but a kat saved them, there is a large tapestry of him in the museum, next to his sword

Jaqueline and Bob, divorced because Bob wanted a family but Jaqueline didn't, they already had three children, the first was aborted, the second stayed with Bob after the divorce and the third stayed with Jaqueline, and that was Jack.

Jack had a very troubled childhood, as he was clearly a nuisance to his mother, but until he was ten, Jaqueline treated him well, and Jack was always congratulated when he fixed the TV.

but as time went by, Jack was more aside, as if he didn't exist, as if he wasn't important anymore, and it was true, but the day Jack joined the Enforcers and didn't even receive a congratulations from his mother, he freaked out. he screamed and talked about how he mother wasn't a mother, and just a woman without a child, because Jack hadn't existed for her for a long time... but she didn't have time to respond, she fainted... Jack took her to the hospital to discover she had lung cancer.

Jack stayed awake nights, next to the bed where his mother was... This was already hindering his efforts at Enforcers, but fortunately, Feral gave him a break until his mother was better.

After a while, Jaqueline recovered, and wanted to do something for Jack, but Jack just said "just don't smoke, please"

and Jack's older sister, it was a little complicated, after so much mental abuse from Bob, Angela, ran away from home.

Angela, after running away, was finally able to do what she always wanted, meet Razor, since she was sure the hero was her brother, and well, the rest is history...

3) Callie Briggs!

Callista, needs no introduction, is the widowed queen who made magic admired not abhorred, and had her life tormented by Pastmaster, the wizard who so wanted to marry her, and fortunately, she can rest without this kat by her side, in the museum, besides her crown, the remnants of her powerful necklace

Arthur and Violeta Briggs! There's not much to say about them, they are Callie's loving parents, who fought hard to have the money they have nowadays, and one thing, Violeta is blind.

4) Ulysses Feral!

Ancestral!

Joynia Feral! The Megalith Kingdom's number one knight! and with a secret passion for Callista, and Ruby and Sapphire's teacher, she is known for her violence and resistance, not to mention her leadership and loyalty, it is not known who the love of Joynia's life was, but apparently she once had an affair with Ruby~ At the museum, her tapestry and sword are on display along with an apparent gift given by her love, a necklace with the initials of her name.

Berdron and Jéssica Feral, a couple who live in a country town, and had two children, Berdron taught them self-defense and put it in their heads to enlist in the Enforcers, but Jessica was afraid of what might happen to her boys, but her opinion didn't have much effect, and the boys followed that dream, enlisting in the Enforcers

Lastly, and certainly least important...

5) Mayor Manx!

Ancestral!

King Maxaoel was the king of Megalith, until he died from lightning during a storm, some accuse Pastmaster of having caused that lightning to fall on the king, to leave the queen a widow, but during his lifetime, he, in addition to protecting his kingdom, also had the court jester, Madkat, arrested, not to mention anything of the king in the museum

Unlike Blue Manx, he was remembered by his great-grandson for quite some time, as his help during the war was more than great.

Alejandra Manx, is Manx's grandmother, who took care of Manx and his sister after their parents fled and to this day their whereabouts are unknown.

Alejandra is very proud of her father, Blue, who after the war moved to a city in Mexico, and lived there until his death. Alejandra told her father's stories to her grandchildren, and because of this, Manx moved to Mega Kat City, to create a life in the place where his great-grandfather saved

Now Estrella Manx wasn't much affected by the stories of her great-grandfather, but when her brother became mayor, she quickly asked for some of his money, and with that money, she travels, goes shopping, among other things.

Battletoads

Trapped in a fantasy simulator bunker for 26 years, the Battletoads awaken to discover they are no longer intergalactic heroes and have fallen into modern-day obscurity. Set in a world of anthropomorphic felines, this series follows the high-flying adventures of Chance "T-Bone" Furlong and Jake "Razor" Clawson. Members of Megakat City's elite law-enforcement agency, the pilots become grounded after their pursuit of archvillain Dark Kat sets them at odds with the headstrong Commander Feral. Reassigned to duties at a military salvage yard, Chance and Jake create their own high-tech jet from discarded parts and dedicate themselves to protecting the city in their secret identities as the SWAT Cats. Armed to the teeth and ready to roll, these masked vigilantes continue their quest to bring down Dark Kat and other threats to the city, including recurring baddies the Pastmaster, Dr. Viper and Hard Drive.

Biker Mice from Mars

With hearts as big as their helmets, Throttle, Vinnie and Modo -- the Biker Mice from Mars -- are back and ready to take on all evildoers. In this incarnation of the cartoon that first aired from 1993 to 1996, the mice rumble with the no-good Catatonians, a cat-like race of creatures who seek the greatest prize in the universe -- the Regenerator, a device that can create anything upon request. The mice use it to make water, the cats want it to turn planets into giant sandboxes, and they'll scratch one another's eyes out to get it back from Ronaldo Rump, a Chicago real estate tycoon who has stolen it so he can transform Mexico into a humongous golf and hotel resort.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The Turtles' origin story begins with Hamato Yoshi, a Japanese ninja living in exile in New York City, who buys four baby turtles from a pet store. While walking home, Yoshi is attacked by a group of men who are actually alien Kraang in disguise. The Kraang splash Yoshi and the turtles with a mutagen chemical called Ooze, which transforms them. The Ooze combines Yoshi's DNA with DNA from a rat that crawled up his leg during the fight, and Yoshi becomes Splinter. The turtles are also transformed, making them stronger than almost any creature on Earth.

Post-canon AU: instead of leaving Erik behind after she returns the ring, Christine asks him to leave the lair with her and Raoul in order to save him from the mob, and all of their lives take an unexpected turn. Starts out mostly Raoul/Christine, but the endgame is Erik/Christine/Raoul, with some Daroga/Madame Giry on the side.)

Imprints In Time

(POTO, rated T. Prequel to my other two POTO fics, exploring an origin story for Madame Giry: her childhood in a Romani caravan, her rise through the ballet corps, how she met and lost her husband Jules, and most of all, her long and complicated relationship with Erik.)

Katabasis

(The Dark Crystal, rated T. Seven years after the Great Conjunction, the surviving urSkeks discover a new threat to both their world and Thra. They must return to Thra in the hope of seeking answers from their dead comrades, which also means once again facing Jen, Kira, Aughra, and all the peoples of Thra they harmed in their former lives. Features a lot of Jen/Kira, who are expecting their first child.)

The light was every bit as bright as they remembered.

(The Dark Crystal, rated T. Silly, fluffy oneshot involving skekLach reluctantly getting a makeover in Ha'rar after her clothes are ruined on the tithing journey. SkekLach/skekOk, and also features some of my headcanons about Gelfling wedding customs.)

I think Darkwing Duck spoiled me with its fun villains because now when I watch a 90s cartoon I’m almost always like “‘I think they should be a little weirder”. 

Like- lemme compare to another superhero cartoon I really like, SWAT Kats. While I do genuinely love the show, most of its villains are kind of fall back on that generic superhero villain personality. Which is disappointing considering that I find its non-villainous characters to be very distinct from one another. Like to me the only thing that changes an interaction between the SWAT Kats and the Pastmaster or Dark Kat or Hard Drive is their powers. They, alongside some of the other villains, don’t have unique quirks or strong mannerisms that set them apart from the other characters. Now compare to the villains of DWD, who are each so wildly different from each other it’s near impossible to mix them up. Each villain leans hard into their individual gimmicks and methods of mayhem with a different dynamic when interacting with Darkwing. 

In the middle of writing this I’ve realized that the biggest difference is that all of the Darkwing Duck villains are informed both by the kind of villain they are and who they were before they became supervillains. Bushroot was a botanist working at a university, so he’s a total nerd about the plants he experiments with and is also very fond of them. Quackerjack made children’s toys for a living before he turned to crime, so naturally he’s prone to childishness and all of his weapons and tools are modified toys; he also has a jester theme, which fits because he’s very snarky and most of his ploys involve creativity and using psychological warfare. Megavolt believes that lightbulbs are sentient, which leads him to being very gentle and affectionate with them and other electronics. He gained his powers through a dangerous prank pulled on him by his high school bullies, which also resulted in him developing amnesia. Liquidator is talkative and commands attention because he used to be a salesman. In SWAT Kats, we know about the pasts of Dr. Viper, MadKat, and Mac & Molly, who are more distinct compared to the other villains because their pasts inform a lot about their personalities and the type of crimes they commit. By comparison, we don’t really know any of the other villains backstories (as far as I’ve watched anyway), so there isn’t a lot to pull from. The biggest exception to this is Turmoil, who has a unique dynamic with the SWAT Kats and how she interacts with the pilots under her. 

I think that part of it is also that DWD really leans into the pastiche so it can go as ham as it wants with its characters.

Hello! All good? Recently I've been seeing (or reading?) your story "Swat Kats: Kat's Eye" and I felt very inspired and decided to make a story too! (Just one thing, I'm still in the first few pages, so no spoilers please ;))

It will be written and I will probably only start writing when I finish reading your story, but I already have ideas and I wanted to ask if you could give me some writing tips

For now, I've already thought about some scenes, the name of the "episode" and synopsis, the synopsis goes like this: "When Pastmaster tries to summon his monsters from the past, a knight ended up coming along, and now the Swat Kats try to help the knight Joynia Feral!" basically it's the episode "bride of the Pastmaster" but in reverse and focusing on the ancestors of Feral and the Swat Kats, yes, they appear, their names are Sapphire (Jack's ancestor) and Ruby (Chance's ancestor) both boys

I have some scenes ready, but some don't have much narrative sense, I won't give spoilers so I'll leave it shallow, and that's why I wanted some tips from you, anyway, before I go, I'll say that I really liked your story!! and I'm sorry for any inconvenience, bye bye

Hello! I'm so happy to hear I have inspired you to write! Thank you for checking on my story/storyboard for that episode. One of the most useful things I learned as a budding writer was to write summaries of your story before you get started. It REALLY sped up my writing process. If I'm really struggling to get a story put together, I'll writing a very short, basic summary first with the main points. Then I'll write a longer summary with bits of dialog and other things I want to make sure go in the various scenes.

By then, you should have a good idea of how the story is going to go so sitting down to write, storyboard, or draw a comic should flow a lot easier. Good luck!

by Mega Kat city, kats watched Kat's Eye News on their televisions, in storefronts, bars, all kinds, Ann Gora talked about the celebration of the day

"Today marks twenty years since Dark Kat's death"

(the scene has Ann's voice in the background, while focusing on a kat completely covered in a black cloak going to a grocery store)

"on September 11th, after an attempt to kill the Swat Kats, but his death ended up marking this very special day, and I, Ann Gora, am honored to remember the events of that day"

Kat, hooded, looked at the TV, as he picked up his purchases and left the store, while the attendant looked at his clothes strangely

in Dark Kat's Bunker

with a TV in front of Dark Kat's old throne, Creeplings were sitting next to an unknown cat, similar to Dark Kat, with a red dress and black triangular shapes, she wore a gold necklace with a "D" printed on it, her hair straight and black, hiding her right eye, she was watching the news, everyone was a little sad and irritated

"Everyone remembers my father's death, but no one remembers my birthday, besides you, of course" she said while petting the Creeplings around her, until the hooded kat from before enters the place, revealing himself to be Creeplings, three on top of each other, with the shopping bag turning out to be cake ingredients, they ran into the kitchen, while the girl continued watching the news

After an hour, the news ended, and the girl looked even sadder

"how I wish you were here dad..."

but to break the sadness, the three Creeplings came back with a not so pretty cake but made with love, all the Creeplings started to sing "Happy Birthday" in their language, of course, a language that the girl knew and even got emotional at end of the song

"thanks guys, you are the best... I hope the cake is better than last years! heheh!" but before the cake could go into their mouths, a portal opened in front of them!

First came Pastmaster! giving way to an unknown feline! tall, looked like a black jaguar, short curly hair and highlighted by her completely white clothing.

"Pastmaster?! and.. who are you...?"
