no— like would be the world's greatest understatement. satoru feels about spoiling you the way he feels about you— he doesn’t just like you, he‘s utterly enamored with you. if you asked, he'd move mountains for you. or give up a portion of his candy; both are equitable in his bright eyes. he loves you so much that he'd skip a basketball session with suguru or leave in the middle of the fight to throw the leftover scraps of a cursed spirit to whoever was unlucky enough to be there at the time; you're more important. you've always been.

yeah, that’s gotta be it. a perfect way to paint his feelings for you on a pure canvas brightened by your smile, light as a feather and lively as the sun. and you're completely deserving, he thinks— you, who's always been so patient and kind with him.

as such, he thinks it’s a crime to waste such a beautiful figure on things less than lavish dress and delicate jewelry; but to be honest, he thinks you could don a potato sack and still make it look exquisite. nevertheless, each time you protest when he drapes another dainty necklace glittering with gems cut from a million-dollar wallet and 58 facets (all the reasons he loves you— that's what he calls them.), he shushes you promptly with a swift, sweet kiss; you get a noseful of his expensive cologne every time he sidles up to you and gets comfortable. which, for the record, is quite often.

out of everything he gets you; bouquets of beautiful speckled flowers that look as if a painter dumped their entire palette of pastels and pretties onto the petals, sweet chocolates dark with the tiniest amount of cherry liquor in the center ("i don't need them— i already get drunk off of you, sweetheart!"), fragrant perfume or the latest comfortable clothing that catches his eye (this one's less common. he likes it better when you're only in his clothes.), jewelry is the one he always finds his way back to the most often.

why? well, if you ask him— there's nothing better than being sprawled on your couch with his head in your lap, nuzzling into your warm hand as he catches a whiff of the perfume he gifted you last week paired with the reddest rose he could find on your wrist. your hands card through his hair, and he uses the opportunity to catch your arm before you can move any further, giving you a smug grin as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a box.

(it's a little embarrassing the amount of times you've thought he was going to propose from that alone.)

you'll open it, and it'll be a pretty silver necklace that matches the one around his neck, or a gold ring with ornate details that he slips onto your fingers after taking your hand in his and pressing a kiss to your knuckles with a smile and a laugh. sometimes it's a bracelet adorned with rich jewels the color of your eyes; maybe something rose quartz to represent the flush on his cheeks you always seem to elicit or a marigold yellow to show the pure joy he gets from being around you. if you ask him about it, he'll just say, "i wasn't kidding when i said i get drunk off of you, baby." with a boyish giggle that's far too charming to not have been used in his younger years to get his way and a sweet little wink of an afterthought that has your heart racing.

on the occasions when the gift is far less... appropriate, you'll always sigh and chastise him with a shake of your head because you both know the fabric will be torn to shreds in a matter of a few minutes. he does it anyway, though. he's always been a little bit of a brat in that sense.

whatever it ends up as, satoru absolutely adores seeing your reactions; the cute flush on your cheeks when you accept it with a little thanks and a kiss to his cheek, leaning forward on the tips of your toes because he's too tall for his own good. maybe even to hook a finger around the bridge of his sunglasses for lips to lips, if he's lucky. of course, he knows he doesn't have to buy your affection— you've made that abundantly clear in moments he doesn't like to think about as anything more than vulnerability when he's worn out, but there's just something about you that makes him want to pile it on. he's always had more money than he knows what to do with, anyway.

and maybe, just maybe— one day he'll dare to hope for a future past school hallways, flattering dresses and skirts or sneaky kisses when he's a little sweaty and his jacket is in your arms and you're on the bleachers, hijacking shoko's pack of cigarettes while the squeak of shoes on the gym floor and the sound of a basketball rattling in the hoop fills your ears. past nights when you're curled up in his arms and he can comfortably rest his head in the crook of your neck, tucked away where it always should be (and always will be).

he'll hope for days when he gets to wake up to you by his side, a silver band with so much more meaning than the fifth one he's given you that week on your ring finger and a matching one on his own, because satoru loves you so much that he'd empty out the vaults of a bank just to make you smile at him. not in the hollow way his father always had at home, or in the obligatory resolute smiles of the servants on his estate, but in a genuine way; a way no one else (except his mom) had ever come close to because if he sold everything he ever had for you, his world would still be right in front of him, holding his hands and kissing his face in spontaneous bursts of love, like shooting stars dancing across his cheeks as a way of thanks.

...so, maybe satoru likes spoiling you so much because you always seem to return tenfold.

Idia Shroud Cloud calling (fan card)

Full body, notes, and design rambling under the cut:

Ahhh,I didn't get this out before the end of the english version of the Cloud calling. This is an outfit to match with Yume's version here. Since Yume's outfit was based on Ono, I made Idia's based on Anga, also from the Lion guard.

It was lots of fun to incorporate the color palette and designs. Personally, I think both Idia and Yume would wear some kinda covering, but I really wanted to draw these daishiki's. Let's use our imagination an say this is a slightly more confidant Idia now that he's been with Yume for a bit.

Design notes:

-Matching beads and feathers with Yume.

-Darker color scheme to fit in with what I think Idia would wears (he tends to avoid light pastel colors). While also fitting Anga's color scheme.

-Hair is only braided in one small section by Yume and decorated with a bead (a star) that represents Yume (a sunset savanna culture thing me and @bunnwich talked about). The rest of his ponytail is divided by beads, but not braided.

-Purple makeup to match with Anga's color pallet

-Sun umbrella bc I know this man will burn.

-Given a longer daishiki with shorter sleeves to be comfortable, but more functional then Yume's

Tbh There really is no reason for Idia to tag along, I simply want him there bc I think it would be fun. (Also something something about Idia and Ortho wanting to travel more while they still can, but that's another discussion) @bunnwich thought of Idia being invited the same way Kalim was, bc the Shroud's being an influential family too is very good and interesting. (more subtle then the Asim's)

It's funny to imagine Idia tagging along bc they would not care much about the Bead brawl at all (and lets be honestly, Leona wouldn't choose him). Everyone's training hard for it while Idia and Yume are doing dumb touristy stuff unbothered and flourishing.

Cardinalia’s eyes glow a fiery red, and her hands bear massive, heart-shaped gauntlets capable of crushing her enemies.

Abilities-

Hearts' Dominion: When summoned, Cardinalia can command a storm of razor-sharp playing cards, each infused with infernal energy. These cards can slice through enemies or form protective barriers around Yuu.

His eyes sparkle with mischief, and steam billows playfully from his spout-like head. Brewster carries a pair of oversized teacup pistols that are as chaotic and eccentric as his personality, complete with whimsical designs that constantly shift and change.

Abilities-

Tea Time Frenzy: When Brewster is summoned, he amplifies the magical energy of the pistols, allowing Yuu to fire streams of chaotic energy. Each shot produces random effects, such as bursts of confetti that blind and distract enemies or colorful illusions that confuse them.

Teacup Swarm: Brewster can summon a horde of animated teacups that whirl around enemies, knocking them off balance and attacking with playful ferocity. The teacups can explode upon impact, creating dazzling displays of light and sound that further disorient foes.

Jesterina wields the Smile Tails blades with grace, her fingers dancing around the curved handles, which seem to pulse with a mysterious energy.

Abilities-

Grinning Apparition: When summoned, Jesterina creates a flurry of illusionary copies of the Smile Tails that strike enemies from multiple angles. Each copy glimmers with the same eerie glow as the original blades and disappears in a burst of mischievous laughter, leaving behind afterimages that confuse foes.

Phantom Juggle: Jesterina can toss her blades into the air, creating a swirling vortex of light and color. The blades become momentarily untouchable, allowing Yuu to maneuver through enemies while they are disoriented by the spectacle.

Echoing Laughter: With each successful strike, Jesterina's laughter resonates throughout the battlefield, inducing fear in enemies and lowering their defenses for a short time, making them more susceptible to attacks.

His body is adorned with sharp, angular designs that echo the aesthetic of the Royal Card sword, featuring the Queen of Hearts emblem prominently on his chest. Cadenza's face is concealed behind a mask shaped like a giant playing card, with intricate designs that glow in sync with the sword’s energy. He wields a massive sword that resembles a colossal playing card, radiating an aura of authority and power.

Abilities-

Deck of Fate: When summoned, Cadenza enhances Yuu's attacks, unleashing a rapid series of slashes that send out shockwaves shaped like playing cards. Each shockwave deals damage and applies stacking debuffs to enemies, making them more susceptible to Yuu's subsequent strikes.

Card Minions: With each slash, Cadenza can summon small, animated card minions that dart around the battlefield, distracting and confusing foes. These minions can explode upon command, releasing bursts of energy that inflict further damage.

Shockwave of Cards: Each slash sends out a shockwave shaped like a playing card that deals damage to enemies caught in its path. Melffy Puppy

Reviewing a Melffy card (requested or not) almost feels like cheating because I'm almost certain my ratings for them will always be 10. Just look at this little guy! How could you not love this? Any cuteness this style has put aside, a lot of my love for the Melffy cards comes from the uniqueness of their style when compared with other Yugioh cards. I definitely noticed this fact right off the bat with the first one I ever saw (Rabby), and it carries over to every single other Melffy card out there. I don't even have to detail the softness of the lines (most of which are fragments while still defining a whole shape), the cutesy extra details (like the little stars and moons and even the stylized flowers made with six dots in two colors), or even the pastel color palette. All very charming points, but the uniqueness of the style speaks for itself without me saying all that. MAN do I love this little puppy specifically though. Just look at it. How can you not love the pale blue heart marking it has on its chest??? Most lovable dog of the year so far. I guess what I'm saying throughout all this is: I'm always here for visually distinct art styles in Yugioh cards.
