Today in 1917 the third battle of Ypres started. Better known today by the name the battle of Passchendeale. The number of soldiers killed in the battle exceeded 500000 soldiers. What a waste of life. To give this battle some context this meant for the whole of this battle this meant that over 1000 plus men were killed every single day of this battle.
