How to Plan the Perfect Party Bus Trip in Massachusetts
Are you ready to hit the road with your friends and family for an unforgettable party bus trip? Whether it’s a birthday celebration, a bachelor/bachelorette party, or just a night on the town, Massachusetts has plenty of great options for your next party bus adventure. Let’s break down what you need to know to plan the perfect trip.
Research Your Options
First things first: research your options. There are numerous companies that offer party bus services in Massachusetts, ranging from basic vehicles to luxury tour buses. Spend some time looking at reviews and photos of different buses before choosing one that matches your group's needs and budget. You should also check out any extras the company offers, like audio systems and TVs. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out directly to the company for more information.
Set a Date & Budget
Once you have chosen a party bus provider, it's time to set a date and budget. Depending on how many people will be joining you on your trip, as well as how long your rental period is, prices can vary significantly between companies. Be sure to compare rates before selecting one that works for everyone in your group! You'll also want to factor in additional costs like gratuity for the driver and fuel charges if applicable.
Create an Itinerary That Works For Everyone
Finally, create an itinerary that works for everyone in your group. The beauty of renting a party bus is that you can customize every detail of your trip—from where you go to what type of music plays—to make sure it fits everyone's individual needs and preferences. Once everything is finalized, all there's left to do is hop on board and enjoy!
Party buses are becoming increasingly popular among groups who want an exciting way to explore Massachusetts without having to worry about transportation logistics or designating drivers. With careful planning and research into different providers, you can ensure that your upcoming party bus trip will be one nobody forgets! Have fun!

When John F. and Jacqueline Kennedy moved in together for the first time as newlyweds, they rented a four-bedroom townhouse in Georgetown, with oak floors, huge windows, and an English-style back garden with a brick walkway and bright flower beds.
Now, for the first time, that house is about to hit the real estate market, having been kept in the owner’s family since it was built in 1942.
The list price is $2 million.
Tumblr media
John and Jackie married on 12 September 1953, in Newport, Rhode Island.
It was the high-society event of the season, with more than 700 guests.
After they honeymooned in Mexico, Jackie, 24, stayed with her in-laws in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, while John, a 36-year-old freshman senator, visited on the weekends.
Jackie wasn’t a huge fan of the arrangement and was “anxious” to get a place of their own, according to Anne Garside in her book “Camelot at Dawn: Jacqueline and John Kennedy in Georgetown, May 1954.”
John’s secretary found the furnished rental at 3321 Dent Pl. NW in December 1953; the couple moved in just after the holidays, in January 1954.
Tumblr media
Jackie was no newcomer to the Washington area. She had spent part of her childhood in the tony suburb of McLean, Virginia, and had been working as a photographer for the Washington Times-Herald when she met Kennedy in 1952.
According to Garside, John already had ambitions for the White House and welcomed any press attention, so when a photo agency suggested a spread on Jackie’s homemaking skills in the spring of 1954, he and Jackie readily agreed.
From May 4 to 9, photographer Orlando Suero took more than a thousand photos of the couple in their rented home, many of which ended up in the women’s magazine McCall’s.
In the photos, the house holds the couple like a warm embrace. Here, they lean side by side against a balcony railing; there, John relaxes with a book in the sunny backyard while Jackie tends the garden.
There are photos of Jackie coming down the stairs in a ballgown for a candlelit dinner party.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are others showing her dressed “casually” in a plaid pencil skirt while talking on the phone in a second-floor bedroom and on the patio petting the dog.
Suero even captured the couple looking through their wedding photos together.
“The sessions reflected the image that the Kennedys themselves wished to project,” Garside wrote: glamorous, rich, young and powerful.
Even so, she wrote, a present-day reflection on all that would befall them makes them appear “strangely vulnerable” in the photos.
Tumblr media
The Kennedys damaged a number of items in the home in only six months, leading to a large bill upon moving out — $385.49, or about $4,300 in today’s money.
The listing includes a photo of a letter from Jackie to her landlord Virginia Childs, reading:
Tumblr media
After Dent Place, the Kennedys spent a few months at Jackie’s family home in McLean, where they experienced their first great trial as a couple.
John’s chronic back problems became so severe, he required a spinal-fusion operation and nearly died of a resulting infection. They spent time in Florida while he recovered.
When they returned to Washington, the couple moved to Hickory Hill in McLean.
It was there the Kennedys experienced another tragedy: In August 1956, their first child, Arabella, was stillborn.
The couple would later lose another child, Patrick, who died at 2 days old in 1963; months later, Kennedy was assassinated.
“Their stay in the house at Dent Place has received only passing mentions in books about the Kennedys,” Garside wrote. “Yet these few months in their first home were perhaps the only relatively normal time in J[ohn] and Jackie’s married life.”
After Kennedy’s assassination, Jackie moved temporarily to Georgetown again, this time to a sprawling mansion on N Street NW.
Incredibly, that property is also on the market.
At $2 million, the Dent Place home is by far the cheaper of the two. The one on N Street, which has been combined with two adjacent properties, is listed at $26.5 million.

what’s connor’s cup party like? at home in canada?
is con the messy drunk of the night?
So Connor is not Canadian. He is American- grows up in Colorado (wtf that is so weird to say. Woody come back.) then moves back to Massachusetts when his dad is done playing.
But he has his cup party in Denver because it feels the most like home to him. He still has a lot of friends there and there aren't many hockey players from Colorado who could bring the cup there. The turnout is huge.
He has a great time. The Wood boys know how to throw a good party. But he wants to remember these moments with Lucie and Stella, so he tries to slow roll through out the day with a couple beers here and there. Once the sunsets, he gets a little crazy. People are passing around joints, popping mushrooms, downing shots. The altitude is giving everything an extra edge. Connor starts throwing people into the pool and Lucie is like... ahhhh have fun I'm taking Stella to bed.
Connor is up all night partying, dumping beer into the cup and pouring it down people's throats. He feels like life can't get any better than this. By the time he's crashing, he is crawling up the stairs of their vacation rental. Lucie finds him on the floor the next morning, naked. She leans down, slapping his bare ass with a loud clap.
"Fuck." He jolts up, looking at her in surprise. "I'm definitely still drunk." He moves his tongue to try to get it unstuck from the roof of his mouth. "Don't wake me up until tomorrow."
"That's not going to work for your daughter." Lucie calls as she leaves the room to grab Stella.

The Exclusive Island Where People Keep Giving Away Homes For Free — Even Though The Typical House Costs $3.6 Million
— Dan Latu | April 6, 2024
Tumblr media
Dozens of homes are physically moved each year on Nantucket, an island off the coast of Massachusetts known for well-heeled homeowners. J. Greg Hinson, MD, www.ackdoc.com
Nantucket, An Island Off Massachusetts, Is A Popular Vacation Spot For The Wealthy.
Each Year, Several Homes Are Offered For Free — But Buyers Must Move Them To New Locations First.
Some Free Houses Are Moved To Create Rentals, While Others Get Turned into Housing For Local Workers.
The crescent-shaped island of Nantucket, 30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, has long been the home of idyllic summer getaways for the rich and famous.
Nantucket's median sales price is $3.6 million, according to Realtor.com, though many homes cost much more.
In 2021, Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman was rumored to be the buyer of a $32.5 million waterfront estate, according to the Nantucket Current, a local paper. The Barstool Sports cofounder Dave Portnoy set a Massachusetts record when he paid $42 million for a six-bedroom home on the island in 2023, outlets including The Wall Street Journal reported.
But in stark contrast to the eight-figure homes is another common Nantucket practice: giving away homes.
Or technically free. Free, but with some caveats. The big one: You have to move them — and pay sometimes hefty sums to do so.
Many wealthy summer residents buy Nantucket properties intending to construct dream homes, which means whatever structure is standing on the land is effectively a teardown, said Anne Kuszpa, the executive director of Housing Nantucket, a nonprofit that creates affordable housing for the island's year-round community.
"Sometimes when someone buys a property, the land is worth a lot more than the dwelling that's on it," she told Business Insider.
Because of Nantucket's "demolition delay" rule, any home with "reuse potential" must be advertised in the town paper for 30 days. It's not required to be offered for free, but doing so has become common practice because most owners would rather not pay for the cost of removal, Kuszpa said.
The real-estate attorney Steven Cohen is representing a "free" home in the Miacomet neighborhood, known for its public golf course and freshwater pond, with a tax-assessed value of nearly $800,000. He said he'd already received 25 emails from interested parties. (Mansion Global first reported the listing.)
The "buyer" must pay to move the home, which usually involves lifting it off its foundation and putting it on a trailer, which is driven slowly to another spot on the island. A 2,500-square-foot home can cost at least $100,000 to move, Cohen said. The bigger the house, the higher the price to move it.
It's much cheaper, however, to move a "free" house onto a property than to construct a new dwelling. Cohen said it cost about $800 a square foot to build a home on Nantucket, making the cost to build that 2,500-square-foot home from scratch about $2 million.
House Moves Are So Common In Nantucket That They Hold Up Traffic
House moves in Nantucket have increased in popularity. About a decade ago, Nantucket issued only 19 permits for homes or units to be transported across the island, according to the Nantucket Current. In 2022, the report said, 91 permits were issued by October — and since many house moves happen later in the year, the annual figure was likely even higher.
"Free" houses can range in size from small cottages to megamansions, Cohen said, and some residents will even split houses into smaller parts and move them to new properties to serve as garages or pool houses.
The fire and police departments need to sign off on the permits to move a house, and road closures need to be issued for the 14-mile-long island, as the trailer carrying the home moves at a walking pace.
House moves occur in the fall, winter, and spring. In the summer they're halted because of the increased tourist traffic on the island.
But for year-rounders, the sight of a house being carted across the island is so common that it might just be part of their morning commute.
"If you get to work late and you tell your boss, 'Oh, there's a house move,' people just understand," Kuszpa said.
Tumblr media
Some of Nantucket's year-round workforce lives in repurposed "free" homes. Maremagnum/Getty Images
Cohen said buyers of the "free" homes fall into three main categories.
The first group is homeowners on Nantucket looking for a small property to turn into a rental for additional income.
The second pool, which Cohen said is larger, consists of individuals or young families who, through their families or other connections, already have land on the island but not enough wealth for a new-construction house.
The third category is housing nonprofits that take the homes as a donation — giving a tax break to the sellers — and turn the structures into affordable housing for the local workforce and low-income families.
"It's the cheapest way to create housing," Kuszpa said.
Kuszpa said the new homes are open only to families making less than 110% of the area's median income, which the census pegs at $135,590. Kuszpa said a typical beneficiary is a family of four making under $100,000, who'd then be able to rent a three-bedroom house for $2,500; the market rent for the same property would be $4,700.
Teachers, landscapers, cleaners, bank tellers, and other members of the Nantucket workforce have benefited from the program and are living in rental homes that were moved to new locations. Kuszpa said that over 600 families were on the waitlist.
Since 1994, Housing Nantucket has repurposed 39 "free" homes into income-capped rentals on the island.
The organization is preparing to move a 1,000-square-foot two-bedroom, two-bathroom home from a plot of land near the center of town, which new buyers purchased earlier this year for $5 million.
Kuszpa said the nonprofit was budgeting $400,000 to move the structure nearly 4 miles to the Atlantic Ocean coast of Nantucket, where it will get a new life as a home for a Nantucket family.
"When you're on an island, materials are just harder to come by," Kuszpa said. "It's about using what you have."

Your Porta Potty Rental Guide for Massachusetts Events
Tumblr media
Planning an event in Massachusetts? Porta potties might not be the most glamorous detail, but they're a crucial element for ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for your guests.
Here's how to navigate the world of porta potty rentals Massachusetts  and make the best choice for your needs:
Choosing the Right Porta Potty Rentals Massachusetts
Variety is Key: Go beyond the standard porta potty rental. Companies like Chase Harris offer handicap accessible options and deluxe units featuring handwashing stations. New England Restrooms cater to larger events with multiple trailers.
Location, Location, Location: Consider accessibility. Will the porta potties be easily found by guests, but not intrude on the event flow? Factor in terrain and ensure a level placement for stability.
Planning for Success:
Size Matters: Estimate the number of guests and the event duration. Most companies offer rental calculators on their websites to help you determine the right quantity.
The "Luxury" Factor: Consider the event type. A high-end wedding might warrant pricier deluxe units, while a casual backyard party might be fine with standard options.
Going Green in the Bay State:
Eco-Conscious Choices: Look for companies like New England Restrooms that prioritize eco-friendly products and responsible waste disposal. This aligns with Massachusetts' environmental initiatives and promotes a sustainable event.
Massachusetts Perks:
Local Expertise: Companies like The Throne Depot, with their familiarity of the region, can offer valuable insights on local regulations and permitting requirements.
Making it Memorable (Even with Porta Potties):
A Touch of Class: Surprise your guests! Some companies offer porta potty rentals with thematic exteriors to match your event's vibe.
Cleanliness is Key: Regular cleaning and servicing are essential. Ask companies about their maintenance schedules to ensure fresh and sanitary facilities throughout your event.
Don't wait till the last minute! Research and book your porta potty rentals in Massachusetts well in advance, especially during peak event seasons.
By following these tips, you can ensure a successful event without any unwanted porta potty mishaps.

The Ins and Outs of the Used Construction Equipment Market: A Witty Dive
Welcome to the wild world of used construction equipment, where bulldozers have more stories to tell than a seasoned detective and excavators have seen more dirt than your garden shovel. In this blog, we're going to take a jaunty stroll through the bustling market of pre-loved machinery, exploring its quirks, challenges, and triumphs. So, buckle up and let's dig in!
Tumblr media
The Scoop on the Market:
Picture this: a dynamic sector where giant machines find new homes faster than you can say "Jackhammer." With a market size valued at a whopping USD 115.32 billion in 2022, the used construction equipment market isn't just big; it's colossal. And guess what? It's only getting bigger, poised to reach a staggering USD 191.55 billion by 2031. Talk about growth spurts!
What Drives the Madness:
Why the craze, you ask? Well, imagine scoring a perfectly functional crane at a fraction of the cost. It's like finding a vintage treasure in a thrift store, but with more steel and hydraulic fluid. Plus, with emerging economies clamoring for shiny new infrastructure, the demand for used equipment is skyrocketing faster than a faulty elevator.
Regional Rumbles:
North America leads the charge, waving its flag of developed infrastructure and construction galore. But don't count Europe out; it's hot on America's heels with its well-oiled building sector. And let's not forget the underdog, Asia Pacific, rising like a phoenix with its urbanization frenzy and tech-savvy construction wizards.
The Dance of Equipment Types:
Excavators and loaders take center stage, stealing the limelight with their versatility and charm. But hold onto your hard hats; cranes are waltzing their way to the top as the fastest-growing segment. It's a battle of the titans, and everyone's invited to the spectacle.
The Game of Applications:
From infrastructure development to residential and commercial construction, there's a piece of the pie for everyone. Earthmoving equipment reigns supreme, digging its claws into every construction project like an eager puppy in a pile of dirt. And with technology playing cupid, the marriage between construction and innovation is a match made in heaven.
For More Information:

The Nitty-Gritty of Regional Insights:
North America flaunts its construction prowess, Europe brings its A-game with a dash of environmental consciousness, and Asia Pacific is the new kid on the block, ready to shake things up. It's a global dance-off, and every region's got its own moves.
The Heroes and Villains:
In this epic saga, our heroes Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Volvo Construction Equipment fight tooth and nail for market supremacy. But watch out for the villainous depreciation and maintenance costs lurking in the shadows, ready to spoil the party.
The Rising Stars:
Rental and used equipment are the rising stars of the show, offering budget-friendly alternatives in a world of shiny new toys. And with technological advancements turning used machinery into high-tech marvels, it's a win-win for buyers and sellers alike.
Conclusion:
So there you have it, folks, a whirlwind tour of the used construction equipment market, where every machine has a story to tell and every deal is a dance of supply and demand. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a wide-eyed rookie, there's never a dull moment in this bustling marketplace. So, grab your hard hat, roll up your sleeves, and join the fray. After all, in the world of construction, the only way to go is up!

TASK #14 LET'S TAKE A TRIP
is your character local to Merrock, or did they move to town from somewhere else? Ryder was born in Boston, Massachusetts, where his parents tried to raise him. He moved to Merrock much later in his life.
does your character travel frequently? Up until he moved to Merrock, yes. He traveled far more than he was in any one place, that was for sure. He still tries to travel when he can, though.
what was their favorite spot they’ve ever traveled to? He really loved Tokyo, and found that the beaches in Australia were amazing. But the culture in Tokyo was amazing to witness.
what was their least favorite spot that they’ve ever traveled to? New Jersey.
is there a place that they’ve always wanted to visit? The poles, mostly just to say that he did.
if they had to take a solo trip anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Somewhere really quiet, where he could just veg for a while, and not leave his lodging, whether it be a mountainous city, or some place in the middle of nowhere.
if they had to take a family/group trip anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Tokyo, he'd take Iris and Jayla, just to make sure that they got to experience it, too.
do they prefer to fly or drive when it comes to traveling? Definitely fly. There are benefits of road trips, sure, but he much prefers to get there as soon as possible and to be able to start enjoying himself and the trip that's planned.
when traveling, do they have an itinerary, or are they doing things as the inspiration hits? Inspiration. He'll follow an itinerary where it's necessary, but he prefers to just be able to do whatever he wants to do, whenever he wants to do it.
hotel, motel, bed & breakfast, camping, rental home – where are they staying when they travel? Luxury hotel, for sure. The nicer, the better. The perks are absolutely worth the price that you pay.
light packer or heavy packer? Heavy packer, but not, like... the worst to ever exist. Hopefully.
do they start packing way ahead of time, or is this a last minute, throw it in a suitcase kind of thing? Neither, somewhere in between. Normally a couple of days before he leaves, but he's still always scrambling for those last minute things.
most often forgotten item when traveling? Weirdly? Pajamas.
the item they double, triple check for when traveling? Passport.
do they splurge on trips, or try to do them on a budget? Oh, splurge, for sure. What's the point in traveling and doing something cool if you aren't going to splurge a little bit in the process?
are they the kind to try all of the local cuisine, or do they stick with the stuff that they know they will like? Local cuisine, but he'll stick with the stuff he knows for the days when he needs to clear up a hangover, no doubt.
more the adventurous type, or do they like to party and hit up the nightlife? Party and night life, for sure!
international travel, or stick to the States? International.
do they record their travels any way, like in a travel journal, scrapbooking, online, on social media? Social media, definitely. He's always had a pretty decent following on Instagram and tries to use that to show off his life and adventures.
and lastly… do they use the pillow provided, or their own? He'll take his and use it if what's provided isn't up to par.

[ad_1] A "now hiring" sign is displayed outside Taylor Party and Equipment Rentals in Somerville, Massachusetts, US, September 1, 2022. — Reuters Fewer Americans applied for unemployment benefits as the numbers touched the lowest level in two months last week amid ongoing labour market tightness, Bloomberg reported. According to Labor Department data published on Thursday, the initial jobless claims fell by 9,000 to 228,000 in the week ended July 15 — the lowest since mid-May. Those who have received unemployment benefits for over a week increased to 1.75 million, rising by 33,000 in the week through July 8. This was the largest increase in over three months. This shows that the labour market remains strong as businesses hold onto employees, providing hope for the economy to avoid recession this year. "The warning clouds of recession have scattered and company layoffs have come back down," said Christopher Rupkey, chief economist at FWDBONDS in New York, according to Reuters. "If there is a recession out there, it is one without too many job losses. We don’t know of any such recessions in economic history so there must not be one looming."The four-week moving average of claims, which evens out some of the weekly volatility, fell by 9,250 to 237,500.However, claims were changed a bit in the week ended July 15 on an unadjusted basis. The applications rose in California, Georgia and South Carolina while other states including including Michigan and Kentucky saw a decline.  [ad_2]
