Keresahanku akhir-akhir ini banyak berkaitan soal pertemanan, persahabatan, persaudaraan, dan hubungan yang semacamnya. Entah karena itu memang fase kehidupan yang harus dijalani, atau karena memang teman-temanku cukup meresahkan wkwkwk.

Jum'at pagi, ragaku tiba-tiba bertemu dengan kawan-kawan lamaku di ruangan yang sangat familiar dan hangat itu. Asrama 10 lantai 3, kamar paling besar sebelah barat. Di atas kasur yang tak beranjang itu (agar tidak jadi sarang kepinding alias kutu busuk), kami saling bertegur sapa, tanya kabar, menagih impian, dan bertanya sudah sebermanfaat apa hidup kita. Pertanyaan yang tentunya jauh dari rasa sombong, iri, riya', atau dengki. Yang ada hanyalah perasaan bangga dan bahagia bahwa kawan-kawan yang membersamaiku berproses sudah sejauh itu menjemput kesuksesannya masing-masing. Tak sedikit gurauan-gurauan lawas yang membuat kami terbahak-bahak. Aku tersenyum lepas. Belum habis senyumku, tiba-tiba alarm hp Samsung A52 yang kubeli 2 tahun lalu itu berbunyi. Aku terbangun dengan senyum lebar dan perasaan bangga. Yaa, pagi itu aku bermimpi indah. Aku sedikit tersadar bahwa dalam tidurku tadi aku sempat tertawa, entah jokes mana yang membuatku tertawa.

Masih dalam susana membahagiakan itu, tiba-tiba muncul notifikasi pesan WA dari salah seorang sahabatku. Pesan yang mengubah suasana bahagia pagi itu menjadi sebaliknya. Dia mengabarkan kepulangannya besok, setelah 5 tahun masa studinya di Solo. Tentu saja dia harus pulang. Rumahnya lebih membutuhkan ide, gagasan, dan semangatnya ketimbang tanah perantauan ini. Entah bagaimana nasib persyarikatan kalau kader terbaiknya enggan pulang ke rumah untuk menghidup-hidupi.

Aku bangga atas pencapaian sahabatku itu, meskipun bohong kalau dibilang aku tidak merasa kehilangan. Walaupun cukup menyebalkan dan pembicaraan kita selalu panas dan emosional, tak bisa dipungkiri dia adalah salah satu partner ngobrol terbaik. Banyak hal yang kita bicarakan. Apalagi lagi soal sahabatku satunya lagi yang entah kenapa tiba-tiba "hilang".

Sejauh ini harapanku sederhana saja, untuk semua yang aku anggap sahabat atau yang menganggapku sahabat. Aku tidak ingin persahabatan kita berjalan seperti Soekarno dan Kartosoewirjo, atau Soekarno dan Buya Hamka. Yang mana pada akhirnya Soekarno menangis karena harus mengeksekusi Kartosoewirjo, atau Soekarno yang harus menjebloskan Buya Hamka ke penjara, meski pada akhirnya Buyalah yang diminta untuk mengimami solat jenazahnya.

Nampaknya persahabatan kita lebih indah jika berjalan seperti Soeharto dan AR Fakhrudin, yang selalu mesra berkirim surat dan saling membantu untuk masyarakat dan umat. Kalau itu terlalu muluk-muluk, mungkin seperti anak SD saja, yang hari ini saling memukul besok pagi sudah saling merangkul. Yang hari ini menangis berkelahi besok pagi sudah meringis haha hihi. Yang hari ini tidak jelas berdebat besok pagi sudah sudah saling memeluk erat.

Tapi ya sudahlah, sepertinya benar kata Cak Nun,

"terkadang kita butuh jarak, agar memahami rasa sebenarnya. Seperti kata-kata yang butuh spasi, agar sanggup terbaca degan baik".

Aku juga tidak mau berusaha menaruh hati karena belum ada persetujuan dari ibuku. Tapi, ketika aku mendengar tiba-tiba kau ingin berniat serius dengan seseorang padahal kau sedang berusaha berproses denganku, itu sungguh mengecewakanku. Entah ini hanya karna egoku saja aku tidak tahu. Tapi yang jelas ini membuatku bertekad tidak akan berusaha menaruh hati kepadamu.

Lalu mendengar berita kau tidak jadi melanjutkan ikatan serius dengan dia, semakin membuatku pusing. Apa jangan-jangan ini hanya akal-akalanmu saja agar aku dapat menerimamu?

Kala itu, fajar datang diiringi suara ayam berkokok. Selesai menunaikan ibadah shalat shubuh, aku bergegas melakukan aktivitas rutinanku menyapu rumah, mencuci piring, mencuci baju dan memasak. Aku bukan seorang ibu rumah tangga, hanya saja belum waktunya untuk saat ini. Menjadi ibu adalah keinginan dari semua perempuan, termasuk aku, karenanya aku berusaha berlatih agar kelak terbiasa. Hari ini hari kamis, tepat pukul 09.00, menuju ke kantor, tepat satu bulan setelah terlepas dari tempat kerja lamaku di sebuah rumah sakit, ah kini aku sedikit bisa bernafas lagi. Sore itu, semua anggota tim kumpul meeting progress. Kamu datang, tapi membisu, tak kudengar sepatah dua patah kata darimu. Aku bisa apa, bibirku terasa terkunci seolah enggan bicara denganmu. Ya, aku takut. Pada akhirnya, aku terlihat seolah mengabaikanmu, padahal dalam hati bertanya tanya apa yang terjadi. Lelaki yang aku pandangi ini bernama Joseph.

"Lif, kamu tau ngga si Joseph kenapa? daritadi diem terus selama kita meeting." tanyaku pada Alif teman partner Joseph. "Kayanya sih lagi ada masalah sama lecturenya deh" jawab Alif. "Emang kenapa?". "Udah seminggu ini lecturenya ngga ngasih kepastian penelitiannya mau dilanjutkan dengan plan A atau plan B. Sedangkan waktu terus berjalan, padahal deadline submit 2 minggu lagi". 3 hari kemudian, Joseph masih sama. Tampak murung dan sedikit sekali berbicara, bahkan selepas meeting bergegas untuk pulang, seolah sudah tak nyaman lagi berada di tengah tengah keramaian. Padahal biasanya Joseph selalu menunggu Nur hingga pulang.

Pagi hingga malam kadang aku terbesit fikiran tentangmu, apa Joseph baik baik aja?. Seberat itukah masalahnya sampai sampai dia jadi begini? Aku harus apaaa, apa yang bisa aku lakukan buat bantu dia?? rasanya ga ada yg bisa aku lakukan, bahkan jika ada yg bisa aku lakukan untuknya belum tentu bisa jadi solusi terbaik. Ya Rabb, aku mohon............ lalu aku berdoa dalam kepasrahan yang sepasrah pasrahnya. Barukali ini aku berdoa dengan tulus untuk seseorang yang bahkan pernah membenciku dan aku pun pernah juga menyimpan kesal padanya.

Ngga semua orang bisa mendapat peran untuk jadi tangan panjang Allah dalam hal membantu orang lain. Tapi ada satu peran yang selalu Allah beri untuk setiap orang yaitu peran untuk mendoakan orang lain. :'))

"Good Morning, sayur sayurkuuuu" sapa Nur menghibur diri berbicara pada sayur yang sebentar lagi akan dia masak jadi pecel. Tepat pukul 09.00, Nur berangkat ke kantor jalan kaki. "Eh, hari ini kan aku ada janji ketemu sama Joseph buat setting ip buat uji coba besok senin. Duh kira kira gimana ya dia? masih badmood ga yaa.." gumam Nur dalam hati.

Sepanjang jalan ke kantor ketika melewati toko swalayan, Nur langsung berfikir ingin membeli coklat untuk Joseph. Coklat memang terkenal ada zat yang dapat memberikan efek tenang pada orang yang memakannya. Jadilah Nur membeli satu batang coklat dan susu kotak.

Allahuakbar, Allahuakbar... suara adzan shalat Jum'at terdengar cukup menenangkanku setelah rasa kecewa menyelimuti hati. Batang coklat dan susu kotak yang kubeli ngga berhasil diselundupkan ke tas Joseph, bahkan aku sudah merangkai kata kata berharap kumpulan kata itu bisa jadi motivasi buat dia. But, seems like Allah has another plan.. Semakin merasa aku ga bisa bantu dia sedikitpun, bahkan untuk sekedar memberi semangat aja ngga Allah ridhoi.. Jadi sedih sama diri sendiri :')

Hari Rabu, we almost have a meeting everyday. Joseph hari ini keliatan beda, rambutnya yang gondrong karena saking sibuknya project dan penelitian sudah ia cukur. senyummu berkembang bak lengkungan bulan sabit yang aku lihat semalam.. Lamunanku terpecah oleh suara Alif. "Weee, haloo broo, waah tambah kece aja lo sep". "Iya doong, eh kemarin bla bla bla..." akhirnya Joseph bisa kembali seceria dan secerewet dulu..

Aku jadi tersadar sesuatu.. Secepat itukah Allah mengabulkan doaku? Barukali ini, aku merasa doaku terkabul sebegitu cepatnya. Terima kasih Joseph, melalui kamu, aku bisa memetik ibrah dari kejadian yang mungkin terlihat sederhana dan biasa terjadi di kehidupan sehari hari.

Kamu masih punya peran untuk mengetuk pintu langit. Mengetuk pintu agar Allah mengabulkan tiap keinginan baikmu. Karenanya jangan berhenti untuk terus berdoa, doa untuk diri sendiri, keluarga, saudara dan untuk kemaslahatan ummat. :')

Being an Erasmus Nomad #1: Drama Visa

Aku seringkali bingung ketika ada orang yang baru kenal atau udah lama ga ketemu nanya, “Kemarin S2 dimana?”. Biasanya sih aku jawab aja, “Di Eropa.” Beberapa orang mungkin puas dengan jawaban itu, tapi ga sedikit juga yang nanya, “Eropa mana?” atau “Kampus mana?”. Yang kemudian bikin aku harus jelasin, “Okay, bear with me... this is gonna be a long answer.” Lol.

‘Ciri khas’ dari mahasiswa Erasmus (khususnya yang Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree) memang kuliah di lebih dari satu kampus yang berada di negara yang berbeda. Nama dari program beasiswa ini terinspirasi dari seorang cendekiawan bernama Desiderius Erasmus yang berkelana mengelilingi Eropa untuk mencari ilmu. So yeah, you could see the connection, right?

Kalo aku sendiri kemarin kuliah di program Master in Digital Communication Leadership (DCLead). Semester pertama dilaksanakan di kampus yang menjadi koordinator konsorsium, which is Paris-Lodron Universität Salzburg. Di Austria. Semester dua dan tiga di Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Di Belgia. Meanwhile, semester 4 dibebasin milih mau stay dimana, asalkan tetap di kampus dan partner yang merupakan bagian dari konsorsium program ini. Aku milih untuk research stay selama 3 bulan di Aussie, tepatnya di kampus Queensland University of Technology. Setelahnya, aku balik lagi ke Salzburg untuk nyelesain thesis, sidang, dan wisuda. Nah, panjang kan ngejelasinnya? Haha.

Masuk dan stay di negara orang tentunya mewajibkan kita memiliki visa. Tandanya, tiap pindah negara, ya aku kudu ngurus visa. Empat kali ngurus visa selama kuliah S2, empat kali pula harus menghadapi beragam tantangan penuh drama wkwk. Ada hambatan yang cuma berupa kerikil, tapi ada juga yang kayak batu karang nan kokoh dihempas ombak lol lebay. Anyway, let me tell the visa story, country by country.

Visa Austria (1):

Ini pertama kalinya ngurus visa. Ngurus semuanya sendiri, without using any agents. Ngurus di Kedutaan Austria yang ada di Jakarta. Sebelum kesana, udah nanya sana-sini dan mastiin semua dokumen udah lengkap. Karena ga kepingin bolak-balik jekardah, aku mutusin untuk stay selama 2 minggu disana (karena biasanya visa udah kelar dalam rentang waktu ini). Tanggalnya pun sengaja disesuaikan sama jadwal acara pre-departure Erasmus yang memang diselenggarain di ibukota tercintah.

You could prepare as much as you can, but shit happens. Jadi, berkas-berkasku udah lengkap, kecuali surat beasiswanya itu sendiri. Tapi aku tetep pede berangkat karena admin kampus bilang kalo surat itu udah mereka kirim langsung ke kedutaan. Mereka gabisa ngasih langsung ke aku karena ini surat ‘confidential’ langsung dari pihak EACEA (lembaga EU yang ngurusin dana beasiswa ini).

Yang sayangnya, ketika aku udah di ruang pengurusan visa, pihak kedutaan bilang kalo mereka belum nerima surat itu. Aku coba nunjukkin kontrak beasiswa yang memang udah dikirim ke aku by email. Tapi, ditolak. Karena belum ditandatangani sama koordinator programku. Aku pun harus pulang dengan rasa kecewa, but my mind kept thinking for all alternatives that I should do. YA SOALNYA GA MUNGKIN MAU BALIK BATAM BUAT NANGIS KE MAMAK KAN?!?!

Begitu ninggalin kedutaan, aku langsung ngemail admin program untuk ngirim ulang surat beasiswanya. Bahkan, minta doi untuk bikin surat lain yang lebih simpel, seperti surat milik temenku yang juga dapet beasiswa Erasmus di Austria, namun di program berbeda. Aku juga langsung ngemail Bu Destriani Nugroho, project officer delegasi Uni Eropa di Indo. Beliau ini fairy godmother-nya para awardee Erasmus+ pokoknya <3 Meski belom pernah ketemu, aku minta bantuan beliau untuk juga ngehubungin kedutaan dan mengonfirmasi kalo aku emang dapet beasiswa ini. Thank God, the universe conspired to help me. Keduanya, baik admin program dan Bu Destri, cukup fast response dan ngebantu banget. (p.s. Besoknya, aku langsung balik lagi ke kedutaan. Alhamdulillah, kali ini mereka bilang udah nerima surat konfirmasi beasiswa itu. Malah, kayaknya Bu Destri yang lebih berperan, karena mbaknya bilangnya, “Oh iya, ini Bu Destri yang dari Uni Eropa udah ngemail kemarin.” Huhu thank youuuu, Bu Destri! Long story short, aplikasi visaku diterima. Tapi, sayangnya, selesainya ga secepat yang kukira. Akhirnya aku balik Batam tanpa visa dan kudu ke jekardah lagi bulan depannya karena pihak kedutaan gamau ngirim paspornya via pos. Jadi ya gitu, kudu keluar duit lagi buat beli tiket. Karena memang, meski dapet beasiswa, tetep aja perlu keluar modal cuy :”))

Visa Belgia:

Kali ini pengurusan visa dilakukan ketika aku udah di yurop. Tepatnya, di Austria. Jelang pindahan ke Brussels, admin program udah minta kami untuk ngurus visa di kedutaan Belgia yang ada di Vienna. Nah, karena ongkos PP Salzburg-Vienna mayan mahal, sekitar 50euro (Rp 800ribu), aku tentunya muter otak untuk ga keluar duit segitu haha. Jadi aku bakal terbang ke Brussels di tanggal 2 Februari 2017, meanwhile visaku yang dari kedutaan Austria berlaku sampai akhir Maret 2017. Aku mikir, bisa ga ya kalo ngurusnya ntar aja langsung di Brussels?

Kebetulan, temen-temenku yang lain pun gitu. Visa mereka juga masih mayan lama expirednya. Sama-sama mau ngirit juga lol. Maka, adminku pun nanyain ke pihak kedutaan Belgia-nya and they said it’s indeed possible. Aku dan temen-temenku pun leha-leha ga ngurusin visa.

Fast forward to the time we’ve arrived in Brussels... kami langsung datengin commune (semacam kantor kelurahan disana) untuk ngurus ijin tinggal (residence permit) di negara mereka itu. This is when the drama started... mereka minta kami punya visa Belgia dulu untuk bisa dapet residence permit! Nah loh! Kami bilang dong kalo udah dibolehin ngurus tanpa visa oleh pihak kedutaan Belgia yang ada di Austria. Telpon-menelpon antar instansi pun dilakukan. At the end of the day, they said they will inform us later if it’s indeed possible, but they couldn’t promise anything. HMMMMMM.

Akhirnya, to avoid the worst alias takut dideportasi wkwk, aku dan temen-temen milih untuk balik lagi ke Austria dan ngurus visanya disana. Karena ndadak, harga tiket tentunya udah melonjak. Aku milih yang paling murah, naik bus. Sekali jalan sekitar 60euro. Padahal harga tiket pesawat Salzburg-Brussels yang kubeli sebelumnya cuma 25euro. Belum lagi biaya nginep semalem di Vienna. Plus ongkos balik ke Brussels. Yang awalnya kepingin hemat malah rugi bandar cuy :”))

Parahnya lagi, aku ke Austria jelang deadline pengumpulan tugas salah satu mata kuliah. Sebagai deadliner sejati, aku masih belom mulai sama sekali, padahal tugasnya itu nulis literature review sebanyak 15 halaman. Dan kok ya, tetiba laptopku bermasalah! Sungguh perpaduan maut haha. Untungnya, ada temenku yang punya dua laptop dan berkenan minjemin ke aku selama beberapa hari. Sepanjang 16 jam perjalanan Brussels-Vienna, rutinitasku: baca jurnal-nulis-quick nap-repeat.

Untungnya, karena pihak kedutaan ngerasa bersalah sama kami, urusan pervisaan dimudahkan. Begitu aku dateng, cuma nunggu beberapa menit, visa udah kelar. Tugasku yang dikerjain on the road juga berhasil selesai, bahkan dapet nilai A! Inna ma’al ‘usri yusro, sesungguhnya setelah kesulitan itu ada kemudahan :)

Visa Australia:

Berbeda dari kedua visa sebelumnya, aku sama sekali gaperlu ke kedutaan untuk ngurus visa Aussie. Everything is being done online. Big applause to the embassies that have embraced digital technology! Lol. Karena ngurusnya serba online, dramanya pun minim banget. Paling yang agak ngeberatin cuma karena visa ini bayar! HAHAHAH. Soalnya, untuk visa Austria dan visa Belgia bener-bener bebas biaya. Makanya, pas disuruh bayar AUD285 (Rp 2,8jt) semacem ga rela gitu jadinya HAHAHAH. Sempet juga agak deg-degan karena permohonan visanya ga langsung di-approve. Diminta untuk ngirim dokumen tambahan, yakni CV dan rencana penelitian thesis. But, that’s all. Setelah aku kirim yang mereka minta, visa pun langsung selesai. Yang mana visanya Aussie ini cuma semacem beberapa lembar dokumen pdf yang di-print sendiri gitu. Bahkan, pas aku masuk dan keluar Aussie pun, pasporku ga dicap sebagaimana kalo ngelewatin imigrasi negara lain. Jadi, gaada deh bukti kalo aku pernah ke Aussie di pasporku :p

Visa Austria (2):

Kalo mau ga ribet, sebenernya setelah dari Aussie, aku balik lagi aja ke Brussels. Karena residence permit yang kudapet berlaku sampai aku lulus. But, I just love Salzburg so much. The beauty of its mountain, the serenity of the river, have made me wanna go back there haha. Tapi ya gitu, tandanya aku kudu ngurus visa Austria lagi. Permit Belgia ku ya sebenernya bisa dipake untuk ke negara manapun di yurop. But when you’re living in a foreign country, you don’t wanna risk getting any bureaucracy trouble.

Berhubung aku ke Indo dulu sebelum ke dan sesudah dari Aussie, aku lagi-lagi ngurusnya di kedutaan Austria yang di jekardah. Aku juga khawatir kalo ngurus di kedutaan mereka yang di Aussie bakal lebih ribet. So, I’m back to the the same place, while also assisted by the same lady who handled my previous Austrian visa.

Kali ini, dramanya ga serempong sebelumnya. No more rejection. Berkas aman. Apalagi, aku sebelumnya udah punya visa Austria, tentunya bikin aku terlihat more reliable. Waktu itu, aku ngurus awal Februari 2018. Aku berpesan ke pegawai disana kalo aku butuh visanya selesai bulan itu juga, karena awal Maret aku berangkat ke Aussie. She said it’s not a problem, since the process may not take a long time anyway.

Tapi... hingga akhir bulan, aku belom dihubungi sama sekali. Mulai panik deh. Go try call the Austrian embassy. Selain lama banget ngangkatnya, kadang juga dilempar-lempar. Email juga ga kunjung dibales. Tapi, aku pun nekat aja kesana di tanggal 27 Februari. Just two days before my departure to Australia. Untungnya, pas kesana visanya udah kelar. Tapi, pas kucek tanggalnya, baru aja kelar hari itu dong! Hahahah fresh from the oven!

That’s the end of my visa drama. Ceritaku kali ini udah (ke)panjang(an) banget. Maklum ya cuy, unek-unek selama dua tahun ditumpahin semua lol. Pesan moralnya, kalo tertarik apply beasiswa Erasmus, you should also be prepared for the visa drama haha. Pastiin semua udah beres sebelum pindah negara, karena kalo kudu balik lagi itu tiketnya mahal :”))

EXPLORING THE APPLICATIONS OF IOT WITH KUBERNETES

Kubernetes is a cloud-native application deployment service. Because cloud apps are related to our IoT devices and products, we need to design IoT applications with Kubernetes.

Because of security, latency, autonomy, and cost, IoT analytics is shifting from the cloud to the edge. However, spreading and controlling loads to hundreds of edge nodes can be a difficult process. As a result, a lightweight production-grade solution, such as Kubernetes, is required to distribute and control the loads on edge devices.

WHAT EXACTLY IS KUBERNETES?

Kubernetes, often known as K8s, is a container-management system that assists application developers in easily deploying, scaling, and maintaining cloud-native applications. Furthermore, containerization simplifies the lifespan of cloud-native apps.

HOW DOES KUBERNETES WORK?

When we have a functional Kubernetes deployment, we usually refer to it as a cluster. A Kubernetes cluster may be divided into two parts: the control plane and the nodes.

Each node in Kubernetes is its own Linux environment. There is some leeway in that it might be a real or virtual machine. Kubernetes nodes operate pods, which are made up of containers.

The control plane is primarily responsible for managing the cluster’s needed state, such as the sorts of applications that are executing and which container images are being utilised by them. It is worth mentioning that computer machines are in charge of executing apps and workloads.

Kubernetes runs on top of an operating system, such as Linux, and communicates with pods of containers that operate on nodes.

The Kubernetes control plane receives instructions from an administrator (or DevOps team) and routes them to the computer devices.

This method works well with a variety of services to determine which node is most suited for the particular task. Following that, it allotted the required resources and delegated the job to the pods in that node.

Kubernetes is a Greek term that translates to “captain” or “sailing master,” and it inspired the container ship analogy. The captain commands the ship. As a result, Kubernetes is compared to a captain or orchestrator of containers in the information technology domain.

Consider Docker containers to be packing crates. Boxes that must go to the same location should be kept together and placed into the same shipping containers. Packing crates are Docker containers in this instance, while shipping containers are pods.

Kubernetes assigns IP addresses to Pods, whereas iptables allows users to regulate network traffic.

In Kubernetes, iptables is replaced by eBPF, as demonstrated in the creative.

WHY IS LOAD BALANCE REQUIRED IN IOT APPLICATIONS?

The efficient and systematic distribution of network or application traffic across several hosts in a server farm is known as load balancing. Each load balancer sits between the backed servers and client devices. It takes incoming requests and then distributes them to any available server that can handle the request/work.

The most basic type of load balancing in Kubernetes is load distribution, which is simple to implement at the dispatch level. Kubernetes has two load distribution mechanisms, both of which operate through a feature called Kube-proxy, which maintains the virtual IPs used by services.

I am thrilled to announce that @christopher.holston.art and I will present a collaborative I Heart Rail Trail : Lights Presented by U.S. Bank installation project in Southend Charlotte! It will run Feb 19 to March 7. Our piece, "Lover’s Lighthouse” will use windows and light to form a moving mural, located at The Coop, 1616 Camden Rd (above Leroy Fox). We are in good company with five other creatives, artist Meredith Connelly, architect Rachel Dickey, furniture designer Ellie Richards, artist Kit Kube, and artist Luvly Moon creating light installations on the trail. I Heart Rail Trail: Lights is part of the I Heart Rail Trail initiative, a partnership between the Charlotte Rail Trail, Charlotte Center City Partners, and U.S. Bank. The Rail Trail is envisioned to be an integrated public art experience that creates a unique, ever- changing destination, linking diverse neighborhoods in Charlotte that invites people of all ages and backgrounds to come together to discover, enjoy and explore. Inget dulu sebelum pandemi selalu nulis mingguan tentang rekap selama klinik, saat mulai masuk klinik di masa pandemi malah lupa nulis lagi jadi mari kita rekap lagi, sepertinya akan menulis minimal 1 bulan sekali untuk rekap seperti dulu koas offline ku di mulai November 2020 yang didahului dengan keributan yang tersangkanya adalah aku wkwk emang ya niat baik kalo dipandang buruknya mah ya highlightnya yg buruk aja dah. Traumatis banget sampe gak tidur 2 hari, gak nafsu makan, takut bersosialisasi, takut ke kampus, gamau nyari partner kerjaan klinik karena setakut itu sama orang orang, makin tertutup sama orang orang. Tapi jadi membuka diri kepada yang terdekat, jadi agak terbuka dengan teman - teman kelompok yang yaaa 1 tahun awalku juga problematik. Jadi lebih deket sama geng (walau berantem dulu anjir emg beranteman pertama kali gegara urusan umat, paling hebat emg ni geng), lebih deket sama jijah dan cossy. November ku mulai dengan kecemasan berlebih tiap ke klinik, gapernah mau nyapa orang, maunya cepet pulang, kalo ketemu “orang orang” pasti takikardi dan rahang kenceng dulu. Sebenernya dari dulu emg gue gasuka nyapa orang wkwk gatau ya...karena kejadian itu jadi makin gasuka karena cemas sendiri. Rasanya kerja lagi, jujur kangen ternyata hahaha siaul, pake APD level 3 di awal awal sungguh eugap dan hareudang tp merasa lebih aman karena sekujur tubuh tertutup APD. Kerja masa pandemi ini di phantom, jadi lebih gampang untuk akselerasi pencapaian. Gegara koas pandemi ku jadi pertama kali beli gigi onlen wkwk dari dulu selalu muterin puskesmas kalo nyari gigi...semahal mahalnya yg kubeli tuh Rp40.000, lah ini 5-6x nya hahaha yaudahlah ya ya gimana.. Ohya karena lebih mudah untuk akselerasi pencapaian, jadi banyak hal alternatif yang rasanya gak tenang kulakukan tapi diajak orang tapi sirik juga kalo liat orang “bermain” seperti itu dan bisa beres wkwk. Ku nyoba sekali, setelah itu gak lagi karena beda pace dengan kelompok rahangku, trus yaudah aku sendirian aja hehe seperti biasa kekuatan super si single fighter. Jujur merasa sedih sih ngeliat progres temen rahangku yang super blassst sangat cepat tapi ya gimana aku sadar diri kalo open akses cupu kalo kerja lambat wkwk yaudahlah ya. Ohya kesedihan lainnya adalah ketertinggalanku dari teman rahangku membuat ku sendirian sedangkan kerjaan di kampus mostly kudu ada barengan terutama di diskusi...nah kan ogut males ya cari partner sejak kejadian akhir Oktober tu jadi ya..gitu. Intinya November 2020 - Januari 2021 dihabiskan dengan kejar kejaran semua hal yang masih utang. Alhamdulillah dept PH udah input nilai, dept BM besok sekali pertemuan lagi, dept OM dan Perio tinggal kumpul berkas. Masih ngejar 1 dept lagi yang mungkin bgt bisa segera kumpul berkas biar Juli bisa Ujian Komprehensif...ngebet antara radio atauga konser tapi ya gimana ya antrian radio sedadakan dan tidak jelas itu dan konser wkwwk gatau gapede aja padahal memungkinkan kalo memang seluruhnya di phantom. Jujur karena semua bisa dikejar dan panik sendiri liat temen temen yang udah lebih cepat, ku jadi grasa grusu dan tidak fokus karena lebih fokus liatin perkembangan orang lain bukannya ngaca ke diri sendiri heuheu suka gitu manusia. Segini dulu, hari ini alhamdulillah aku tidak sedih pun tidak senang juga hehe datar dan tenang. Aku suka. 1/2/2021, Jakarta sedang hujan, Covid masih tinggi - tingginya.

DataStax launches Kubernetes operator for open source Cassandra database

Today, DataStax, the commercial company behind the open source Apache Cassandra project, announced an open source Kubernetes operator developed by the company to run a cloud native version of the database.

When Sam Ramji, chief strategy officer at DataStax, came over from Google last year, the first thing he did was take the pulse of customers, partners and community members around Kubernetes and Cassandra, and they found there was surprisingly limited support.

While some companies had built Kubernetes support themselves, DataStax lacked one to call its own. Given that Kubernetes was born inside Google, and the company has widely embraced the notion of containerization in general, Ramji wanted there to be an operator specifically designed by the company to give customers a general starting point with Kubernetes.

“What’s special about the Kube operator that we’re offering to the community as an option — one of many — is that we have done the work to generalize the operator to Cassandra wherever it might be implemented,” Ramji told TechCrunch.

Ramji says that most companies that have created their own Kubernetes operators tend to specialize for their own particular requirements, which is fine, but as the company built on top of Cassandra, they wanted to come up with a general version that could appeal broader range of use cases.

In Kubernetes, the operator is how the DevOps team packages, manages and deploys an application, giving it the instructions it needs to run correctly. DataStax has created this operator specifically to run Cassandra with a broad set of assumptions.

Cassandra is a powerful database because it stays running when many others fall down. As such it is used by companies as varied as Apple, eBay and Netflix to run their key services. This new Kubernetes implementation will enable anyone who wishes to run Cassandra as a containerized application, helping push it into a modern development realm.

The company also announced a free help service for engineers trying to cope with increased usage on their databases due to COVID-19. They are calling the program, “Keep calm and Cassandra on.” The engineers charged with keeping systems like Cassandra running are called Site Reliability Engineers or SREs.

“The new service is completely free SRE-to-SRE support calls. So our SREs are taking calls from Apache Cassandra users anywhere in the world, no matter what version they’re using if they’re trying to figure out how to keep it up to stand up to the increased demand,” Ramji explained.

DataStax was founded in 2010 and has raised over $190 million, according to PitchBook data.
