headcanons for how Idia and Malleus play Minecraft?
~ Headcanons for twst characters playing Minecraft.
I was a little late, but here are the headcannons! :D
Also, a little friendly reminder that English is not My native language and if you find errors in the text, please write to me about it.
Another parts about :
Azul and Lilia!
Riddle and Leona!
Jade and Floyd!
[Idia]
Tumblr media
1) Absolute pro.
2) During the entire game, big bro has already set up His own server with tens of hundreds of buildings, houses and cities, on which all of Ignihyde plays...
But for you, beginners, He will of course make a new one.
3) Lives not in an ordinary house, but in a secret underground complex with hundreds of traps, secrets and secret passages. The entire dungeon is arranged quite professionally and beautifully, in a black and blue palette, using wool, clay, stone and several types of thin blocks and half-blocks, steps and other things. Instead of ordinary torches, he uses blue torches with soul fire.
4) He doesn’t trust his account to anyone except Ortho, but he tries to make sure that his beloved younger brother doesn’t waste any important resources or do anything unnecessary.
5) His favorite and least favorite location is Nether.
6) His base is guarded by three dogs with blue collars.
7) The same walking guide that explains to everyone and everything how to play and answers all kinds of questions.
8) The bro on the server has absolute power... After all, he is the admin here and the main expert in cheat codes.
9) Despite the fact that he feels much more confident in the square world, he still does not like to interact with other players and prefers to play alone. If there are too many players on the server, He either rushes to retire, or barely uses the microphone and hangs around somewhere in the corners.
He is most comfortable playing with Lilia, Ortho, Azul and possibly Yuu.
10) Keeps a joke counter when someone compares His hair to the blue soul fire (137)...
11) Loves block art and other buildings like statues of favorite anime characters.
12) Usually, he plays with a ton of shaders, mods and other additions, but since not all dorms are equipped with powerful hardware, like in Ignihyde, bro have to play with a minimum amount of additional details.
13) Knows all the cool bugs, recipes, theories and locations of Minecraft.
14) In one of the secret rooms he built a cemetery for His pets.
15) Of all the players, he comes to the server most often, and could have reached the dragon in one day, if not for Ortho’s gentle reminder that on a joint server you need to play TOGETHER.
16) His main fear is if His mother somehow logs onto the server.
17) Always swears at updates.
18) Sometimes he seriously thinks about buying the rights to the game...
19) Minecraft is my life!
20) MINECRAAAAAAAAAFT
(Insert audio from that screaming russian schoolboy meme)
[Malleus]
Tumblr media
1) He doesn’t know what Minecraft is and when Yuu and Idia invite him to play (Invitation???? He’ll definitely join!), he asks Lilia what “Minecraft” is and what spell can He use to get into this mysterious world?
2) When he sits down at the computer for the first time, he falls into a crisis and looks at the square icon for a long time (3 hours), in sincere bewilderment.
Then he decides to try to figure it out on his own... And accidentally blows up the computer.
(Poor Lilia.)
4) FINALLY having figured out the controls on the phone (Still poor Lilia), he came onto the server and falls into a new crisis and shock from the appearance of the game...
"This is definitely... It will be interesting..."
5) Absolute noob. Bro sometimes even forgets that his character is weak and mortal. Several times, He simply walks into lava, forgets to eat, or swims in the water for a long time and is genuinely perplexed as to why his character is dying.
6) Tsunotaro's house is a simple wooden box made of dark oak logs, vines and flowers. There is no floor - only fragrant green grass. The windows are also missing and replaced with fences. Right at the doorstep is a garden with flowers, and on the roof there will be creepy, crooked figures made of blocks and half-blocks of stone and basalt (Gargoyles were planned).
Perhaps He will try in the future to rebuild the house into something more gothic, but Tsunotaro like architect, is like a Grim like nutritionist... Yuu is His most frequent guest and Draconia, according to all the rules of etiquette, tries to feed the visitor and force him to stay as a guest with Him, like a decent owner.... Oh, Yuu invites Him to visit...?
...He will definitely come and build Yuu a crooked gargoyle as a sign of gratitude... And I hope that a human child will be smart enough not to destroy His building...
.......No, I'm serious. Don't.
7) He doesn’t understand anything and either follows other players 24/7 or gets lost and Idia eventually finds him a couple hundred chunks away from the spawn location, trying to make friends with the bat.
8) Griefers? Who is this? Is there such a crazy person who would try to break down His house...?
9) Oddly enough, his main occupation is taming everyone he can. Cats? Parrots? Dogs? A whole farm with a variety of livestock from small to large? Two little slimes? Strange guy with white eyes behind the tree? Yuu? He will take care of everyone.... Rest assured)
+ Animals in this game do not age and cannot die unless you put them in danger, or play it safe and give them name tags....
10) The same guy whose game constantly crashes for some reason or whose microphone crashes.
11) Belongs to the type of people who can simply take and give another player either a beautiful, freshly picked flower, or incredibly rare and expensive armor or weapons, with several layers of enchantment, which He obtained from an unknown place and in an unknown way.
12) For a reason unknown to anyone, all mobs such as monsters, villagers and pillagers, except animals and children, bypass him.
13) Loves to wander through abandoned villages and mines.
14) In PVP he is not particularly smart and sticks with more neutral and calm players and rarely gets into fights with anyone... If at all anyone wants to fight with Him.
15) He dreams of building a GIANT Gargoyle, but so far, all he gets is another crooked, creepy pile of stones, only of larger sizes.
16) When he learns that the goal of the game is to kill the dragon and take It's egg, his reaction is literally: ....Mother?🤨
17) He doesn’t want to fight with His relative, and when Idia kills the dragon, he bursts into His room with lightning and thunder in order to interrogate the corpse of Gloomurai, which did not survive several heart attacks.
18) Tsunotaro took the egg for Himself and built a kind of temple for It (Surrounded by gargoyles, of course), and sincerely waited for it to hatch, until Lilia, who came to the rescue, said that this was not possible in the game.
19) Conclusion: One was disappointed because He could not atone for the brutally murdered dragon mother and raise Her child, and the second, although He laughed amicably, still grabbed a couple of Vietnamese (Briar Valley) flashbacks.
(Poor Malleus and Lilia)
20) Later, scared to death, Idia will install a mod especially for Tsunotaro that allows him to hatch and tame a dragon from the egg he received in The End 😊
(Poor Idia)
That's it! I am waiting for your new requests :3

Lovers Quarrel
Tumblr media
*not my gif*
Word Count: 1625
Warning(s): None? Some injuries. Ca:cw spoilers (lol)
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader
A/N: hi! i sincerely apologize for the wait so here’s this! It was requested by an anon here and i hope whoever that whoever it was gets to read it!
The scene painted out before you reminded your idle mind of those that occurred during the times of ancient history, tales recorded on wooden tablets and later translated into a world of empires and invasions. Tales of kings and commanders and armies, tales of power struggles and barbaric actions. Where city-states were just barely discovering copper and iron and steel and metal and where one-hundred-year-old super soldiers didn’t magically freeze and thaw out, only to wake up seventy something years later. Where there was no Iron Man, or Hawkeye, and where there were certainly no Black Widows. No Black Widows that slowly extended their long legs over your heart and nestled down deep, deep enough to just nearly become one with the genetic coding of the cells that made up one of the most vital organs in your body. You furtively wished that you weren’t part of the timeline filled with superhumans and ex-Russian assassins and men that flew around in suits engineered by a certain genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.
Despite your desperate wishes here you were, lined up in an airport hanger with half of the avengers that you had chosen to align yourself with. Across from you stood your friends, your family, and your- well, you weren’t quite sure what exactly Natasha was to you.
You could feel her eyes fixated on you, and whether fury or concern were being directed at you, you weren’t too sure, especially seeing as you refused to even flick your own eyes in her general direction.
Her tiny huff of annoyance didn’t go unnoticed by you and you cursed whatever government officials deemed the Accords an appropriate measure of action. If splitting the Avengers into two was the reaction they were oh so kindly hoping to achieve, then their overpriced bottles of champagne were most certainly cork-less by now.
Your whole body ached with the primal need to see the love and adoration that you had grown used to in the now familiar jade-green eyes of one Natasha Romanoff. Your bones had long since endured the weight of sorrow and regret and by this point, the precipice of this protracted conflict, you were feeling the full weight and brunt of a word solely known as exhaustion.
You were pulled from your period of self-awareness by the start of the fight, the war, between two forces that had been nearly unstoppable when combined. What the outcome would be, you hadn’t the slightest clue and you were whole-heartedly not looking forward to finding out.
And so you did your best to avoid the stunning red-head who made your head swim with thoughts that you were definitely not supposed to be thinking while tossing punches at some guy in a panther suit. As the battle dragged on, however, you were unpleasantly forced to find out that your attempts to avoid that certain someone were meaningless.
She looked as good as ever in her sleek combat gear and good god what you wouldn’t give to smash your body against hers in a hug tight enough to crack the pistachio nuts you had deemed ‘breakfast’ just this morning.
“(Y/N).” She spoke with a tone of indifference and you flinched at the fact that it was being directed at you. Of course you felt immense guilt for not sticking by Natasha’s side but how could you when your beliefs lay with the opposite team? How could you sit back and sign a contract that basically handed over your freedom and everything that you had worked so very hard to achieve when you were something of a Hydra experiment yourself? How could you possibly be able to sign your life away to the sleazy, wrinkly men that called themselves the American Government when you had been in Bucky’s shoes not too long ago? And if you had deserved a chance to change then god fucking dammit so did he.
Needless to say, this was the biggest lovers quarrel in history.
“Nat,” you bit down hard on your lip in an attempt to stop its trembling, “I-“
Thought you loved me, you wanted to say, thought you would understand how much this meant to me, thought you would stand up for me. Your throat bobbed up and down as you swallowed the vowels and consonants of the phrases thickly, their bitter aftertaste more unpleasant than that of the tangy salt water that she made you gargle when you got sick.
You could only stare wordlessly at Nat and she, you. The entire fucked up situation made you feel sick, a constant state of unsettlement rushing through your veins alongside the anger and hatred that you felt for the so-called ‘higher ups.’ And then finally, Clint, bless that man, intervened and off he and Nat went, twisting and turning as if they were the cats and dogs you used to mindlessly watch on television when a nightmare of yours was particularly bad.
The telltale shink of Steve’s shield meeting its target had you cringing inwardly. You heard him holler your name and off into the fray you went, ducking under a stray metal suit and jumping over the cracks in the concrete that made up the hanger.
“Cap. You called?” You dragged your gaze from him to the hulk of a man next to him and as hard as the soldier tried to remain stoic, you saw the guilty look that hid away in the top corner of his eyes.
“Buck and I need to get to that hanger over there, can you cover us?” When Steve spoke, your gaze remained on Bucky. You gave him a small, reassuring smile before turning back to Steve.
“It’s what I do best, Captain.” He nodded stiffly and you could tell that something was bothering him. “What? You worried about lil ‘ol me or something?”
He sighed deeply, “You know Natasha would kill me if you get hurt.”
You felt your nostrils flare in annoyance, “Natasha’s not exactly here right now, is she?” Of course that wasn’t one hundred percent true but from what you could see of her, flashes of red and black every so often, it seemed she was quite busy with problems of her own.
“(Y/N)-“
“Steve please. Do you want my help getting across this airport or not?” He finally nodded again and you nodded back.
The three of you took off towards the destination and were about halfway there when the sound of thrusters drew nearer. You cursed to yourself and kept running until Tony dropped down in front of you, the face-plate on his mask retracted as if he wanted the three of you to see just how angry he really was.
“Stark,” You drawled, “how nice to see you.”
“You too sweetheart.” He growled and you sneered at him.
You waved Steve and Bucky forward, signaling that you could handle Tony. They threw you reluctant looks before finally taking off. “You don’t want to tango with me hun.”
A self-satisfied smirk crawled onto your face, “Oh but I do.”
He fired a blast at you and you dodged with a perfectly placed combat roll, positioning yourself behind some loading crates. When Tony flew closer to you, you reached up and clamped your arm onto the arm of his suit and held tight as he swore and flew about, trying to knock you off. When bucking you about like a bronco didn’t work he retracted the faceplate again and smirked at you, “Hope you’re not afraid of heights.”
Tony flew skyward and you held on with all the upper body strength you had as he reached a dangerous height, wherein if you fell you wouldn’t necessarily die, but the impact wouldn’t be the nicest experience.
Your arms burned with the exertion of holding your body weight up and you could feel your fingers beginning to slip on the cool metal of the suit.
“Rhodes, get ready to catch this lovely package.” After Tony’s statement your grip finally gave out and you went tumbling to the ground, a view of smoke and the blue cloud-ridden sky accompanying you.
Rhodey was nowhere to be seen as you fell, ten feet left, then five, until you landed on the ground with a sickening crunch and pain shot up your spine. You tried to scream in agony but the sound wouldn’t come out, as if your vocal chords themselves were feeling the vibrations of the tight, coiling pain.
Distantly you could hear screams and yelling but you couldn’t make out whom the sounds belonged to. Your eyelids felt heavy and your body twisted and writhed every which way on the ground in an attempt to fight the pain in your system. The ground shook with the approaching footsteps of someone but then again you were too out of it to comprehend if it was instead the violent shaking of your spine beneath you that you were feeling.
“Moya lyubov,” Nat panted desperately and reached over to cup your cheeks in her warm hands, “are you okay?”
“Nat,” you cried, “M’ sorry baby.”
She shushed you and leaned down to press her forehead against yours, the first few tears rushing down her face, “Shh. No, (Y/N), honey it’s not your fault.”
“I’m sorry,” you whimpered desperately. “I’m so sorry.”
“Baby please, stay with me. Keep your eyes open for me.” Her voice sounded distant even with her close proximity and your eyelids were just so heavy and you could feel yourself giving in, succumbing to the black just visible at the edge of your vision. You took one last peak at Natasha until you finally closed your eyes.
When you woke up you were all alone, cuffed to a hospital bed in an unfamiliar room.
A/N: Listen, I don’t know what this is or why I have inserted some weird world history shit into the fic but please just accept it for what it is. I’m satisfied as hell that I managed to throw this together and have it out to y’all by today so I beg of you to be proud of me for finally putting out some content, regardless of its questionable grammar and spelling and odd facts. Have I done good or have I done goofed, please let me know. Love always, Viv <3

Why can't I hold all these cool stories?
CURRENT CRAVINGS: Please see this GDoc, because I have some plots I’d like to try! I’m primarily interested in original plots and characters; setting them in original worlds or fandom worlds is fine. I am not interested in playing canons other than as side characters/world filler as of right now.
DISCORD: KYLO REN AT CHILI’S#8808
  PERSONAL PREFERENCES
I’m over eighteen, and would prefer my partners are, too. This doesn’t mean I’m interested in NSFW-heavy plots; I do not write smut. It just means I’m more comfortable writing and interacting with other adults.
I consider myself to be lit-adv. I tend to enjoy partners in the lit+ category, but as long as you’re an enthusiastic and engaging partner, I don’t care about perfect grammar. I would rather write with someone just as involved and excited as I am, than I would with someone who isn't very engaging but knows exactly what to do with obscure punctuation.
I’m not interested in playing only one type of character or playing against only one type of character. I typically don’t enjoy writing with people who are only interested in playing one type of relationship dynamic or one kind of character (such as only m/f, playing the female, or m/m, playing the “bottom”). I have no problem with these dynamics or characters at all, nor do I have an issue playing against them. I just prefer more variety, compromise, and opportunity.
OOC chatter is really important to me. I can’t write with someone that I don’t feel like I can get to know. I’m looking for friends, not a faceless reply robot. I won’t communicate over any medium but Discord. I've tried Kik, Hangouts, etc.; they just don't stick for me. If you would prefer first contact be through email, you can shoot me a quick message and your handle to [email protected].
I’m fine with threading in a GDoc or a server, but I will not thread over DMs. It’s difficult to have OOC chatter and the thread over the top of each other.
If you're looking for a partner that writes a reply a day without fail, that's not me. I prefer that we don't have "posting schedules” or set posting times, because I find that it turns writing into a chore. It's great if you reply immediately, and it's totally okay if you need a week to figure something out! You’re absolutely free to poke me. I’m not always the most mindful. However, I’m not going to reply every day. Three to four times a week is my frequency.
  PLOT PREFERENCES
I’m interested in both fandom and original settings, and I’m down for playing both canon characters and OCs. I don’t necessarily prefer one or the other.
I definitely prefer canon doubling from my partners in fandom plots; I mesh better with people who do a little give-and-take when it comes to that. If you only play one canon character or only play OCs against canons and won’t play canons, I don’t think we’ll work.
I can play as many characters as needed, whether it's just one or it's six. Whatever our story calls for, I can manage that. In fact, I would love to play multiple “main” pairings so we can both get what we want, versus a single main pairing (unless it’s a pairing/dynamic we both like equally well). I find more than one facet to a plot really interesting, and multiple characters helps flesh out a story’s dimensions.
I’m absolutely interested in joining groups, so please don’t be shy about asking me to participate in plots with more than two players. So long as they don’t involve me writing sexual NSFW, we’re Gucci; everyone else writing NSFW isn’t a deal breaker for me.
Multiple threads and plots at the same time are no issue for me. In fact, I love the idea that we click so well that we just can't stop coming up with good ideas! So definitely don't be afraid to pitch something new to me, whether it's because you want to switch gears (and drop a thread for another), or want to do everything at once.
Romance is a must for me! I prefer slow and agonizing journeys to get there, but my attention is best held by romantic chemistry between characters.
I can provide writing samples upon request, though I never require them from my partner. Additionally, I have some plots written out if you're interested in that sort of thing. Otherwise, we can brainstorm together!
  FANDOMS
I’m very much a fandom player. I’m always down for AUs, or inserting our own characters into the plots of fandoms! This is in no way a complete list; never be afraid to ask if I’m into something! I’ve probably forgotten a hundred things I love.
Most of my fandoms will have favorite canon characters listed with them, both who I like playing and playing against; you’re always welcome to ask about others not listed.* There’s a good chance I’m pretty good with them!
*I will play OCs in every fandom, but I might not play canons in every fandom.
  ALWAYS
The Bartimaeus Trilogy (Nathaniel, Kitty Jones, and Bartimaeus), DC (any Titan, Jinx, Arthur Curry, Steve Trevor, Circe, and Diana Prince), Elder Scrolls (player canons and/or OCs preferred, but feel free to ask about canons), Fallout: New Vegas and 4 (Arcade Gannon, Paladin Danse, R.J. MacCready, Arthur Maxson, Veronica Santangelo, Cait, Rose of Sharon Cassidy, and player canons), Game of Thrones (Sansa Stark, Robb Stark, Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, Jaime Lannister, Ramsay Bolton, and Willas Tyrell), His Dark Materials (OCs preferred), Hunger Games (OCs preferred), Inception (Arthur, and Eames, but OCs preferred), Marvel (Peter Parker, Scott Lang, Bucky Barnes, Miles Morales, Loki Laufeyson, Thor Odinson, Gwen Stacy, Jean Grey, Ororo Munroe, Kitty Pryde, and Megan Gwynn), Miraculous Ladybug (Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste), The Mortal Instruments (Simon Lewis, Raphael Santiago, and Alec Lightwood), Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Percy Jackson, Nico di Angelo, Annabeth Chase, Will Solace, Piper McLean, and Leo Valdez), Star Trek (Jim Kirk, Leonard McCoy, S'chn T'gai Spock, and Pavel Chekov), Star Wars (Obi Wan Kenobi, Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo, Jagged Fel, Mara Jade Skywalker, Rey Skywalker, Poe Dameron, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Sintas Vel, and Ahsoka Tano), The Walking Dead (Glenn Rhee, and Negan), Warriors (Firestar, Squirrelflight, Jayfeather, and Hawkfrost)
  SOMETIMES
Boku no Hero Academia (Bakugo Katsuki, Midoriya Izuku, Shinsou Hitoshi, Kaminari Denki, Kirishima Eijiro, Todoroki Shoto, and Uraraka Ochaco), Bungou Stray Dogs (OCs preferred, but feel free to ask about canons), Digimon (OCs preferred), Dragon Age (Fenris, Cullen Rutherford, Cassandra Pentaghast, and Dorian Pavus), Final Fantasy VII (Cloud Strife, Zack Fair, Reno, and Sephiroth), Harry Potter (Narcissa Malfoy, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, James Potter, Regulus Black, Draco Malfoy, Hermione Granger, and Luna Lovegood; play my favorite ship with me, and I'll do whatever you want, literally.), Mystic Messenger (Choi Saeyoung, Han Jumin, Kang Jaehee, and Choi Saeran), Naruto (Hatake Kakashi, Umino Iruka, Gaara, Hyuuga Hinata, and Uchiha Sasuke), Ouran High School Host Club (Ootori Kyouya, Hitachiin Hikaru, and Hitachiin Kaoru), Pokémon (Red, Blue, N, Guzma, and player canons)
NOT SURE, BUT WILLING TO EXPLORE
Avatar: the Last Airbender (particularly Zutara), Eragon, Howl's Moving Castle, Kiznaiver, The Legend of Zelda, Soul Eater, Steven Universe, Tokyo Ghoul, Twilight, Yuri!!! on Ice
  GENRES
For the most part, I’ll genuinely play most any genre! Of course, everyone says that, but then they shoot down all your suggestions because everyone has stuff they don’t like doing. I’ll try to make this as brief as I can, and know that if something isn’t listed, but you’re pretty sure (based on everything else) that I’m into it, then definitely let me know what you’re thinking!
SETTINGS
A/B/O (I will not play only alphas for only omegas, nor will I play overly trope-y, non-con, “boys love”/"yaoi" plots.), Age of Sail, alien worlds/alien invasions, celebrity, fairytales and mythology (including “inspired by” retellings), fantasy (including medieval, urban, and high fantasy), alt-historical and modern royalty, mutants/gifted, organized crime, science fiction (especially including aliens), some historical (excluding medieval, colonial, and the Roaring Twenties/Great Depression), supernatural, Victorian (especially the London ton), post-apocalyptic
PAIRING DYNAMICS
arranged marriage (I’m always down for slinging our characters together, whether or not they want to. It’s always a bonus if their families hate each other.), enemies to lovers (I love conflict of any sort, especially romantic!), human x not-human (The not-human must be sentient.), bad guy x good guy, intellectual x emotional, captive x captured (especially when the captured is willful, annoying, and full of fight), step-siblings (I don’t play step-parents x step-kids, so please don’t ask!), status/power imbalances (such as characters being from different socioeconomic strata or different ranks/positions in an organization), celebrity x bodyguard (I’m okay with the celebrity being the son/daughter/offspring of someone famous!), famous x not famous, rivals of any sort, unwilling traveling companions, unwilling soulmates
If any of this interests you, please feel free to reach out to me however! I'm really looking forward to hearing from you!

Exposure Therapy [Alucard/Gender Neutral Reader]
Series: Hellsing
Summary: the “long awaited” sequel to inhuman; “... this pseudo exposure therapy meant to suture the scabbed rift that severs the burgeoning bond between you and Him. Because you weren’t the only one afflicted that day...”
Warning: body horror; mentions of a developing panic attack
In the dark space behind closed eyes is where you dwell, drawing in slow, deliberate breaths through your nose until your lungs expand to max capacity, and then gradually pushing them back out through pursed lips. It’s an exercise in composure, done in the hopes of barring your heart from its incessant lofty flutters and reigning in your mind before it runs off with itself- and oh how it wants to run.
As stubborn as the skull it occupies and twice as thick, your brain is relentless in its pursuit of diving headfirst into the depths of your psyche where a veil of writhing black shadows and glistening fangs patiently wait for a mere glimpse, the smallest window of opportunity to present itself so the trauma can swallow your anxiety whole and gnaw and chew until you’re nothing but a raw, mangled mess left for an endless audience of red eyes.
But in this moment, contained within the dark walls of sir Integra’s study with said employer standing in as something of a mediator, you can’t allow your abysmal memories and hellish imaginations to roam amok. You need to do this.
So you roll your shoulders back and lift your chin with eyes sealed shut still; when next your vision clears you want Alucard to be the first thing you see. “Okay, I think I’m ready.”
“’You think?’” A familiar baritone questions, tone clipped and pronunciation short. Something in your gut tells you that He’s just as perturbed as you right now.
Which brings to mind the precise reason why you’re enduring this psychological torture- this pseudo exposure therapy meant to suture the scabbed rift that severs the burgeoning bond between you and Him. Because you weren’t the only one afflicted that day, when a squadron of very human and very panicky soldiers mistook you for a shambling corpse and in your moment of hesitation- they weren’t monsters, after all- this unit of bullet proof vests and combat rifles perceived you a threat. A barrage of deadly, metallic projectiles fired your way, poised to shred your body into grisly confetti were it not for Alucard and His impeccable timing. That was lucky for you. However, the method of which He saved your skin rained pure hell on your simple mortal understanding.
“Are you absolutely sure, Murray?” You hear sir Integra ask, it being the first she deems her intervention appropriate since opening her office door to you tonight. “You must be certain that you’re truly ready.”
Because this isn’t just for your sake, is the unspoken line and you don’t dare to outwardly acknowledge it. The air in the room is already volatile enough, there’s no need to strike a match by dragging His vulnerability further into the light when He’s allowing you this favor. After all, He doesn’t have to forgive you or your rejection.
“I understand,” you say with a quiet voice that’s quickly succeeded by a single firm nod, “and I’m ready.”
What follows next is a moment of silence, a heavy one, the tension pulled taut like an elastic band ready to sever and snap. But when the moment trickles into two, then three, and the ticking of the old grandfather clock in the corner of the study becomes too loud, it’s only now that you have clarity of the situation.
Alucard isn’t ready.
You’ve seen this side of Him before; He’s revealed Himself to you once in all of His abominable glory, and though it was under less than favorable conditions He still posed no threat to you then, and yet you... you couldn’t handle it. Couldn’t take it. And when you fully recovered from that episode, cleared to go out on missions and be a productive Hellsing employee again, you went back on your bullshit and withdrew from Him once more- entirely far too reminiscent of when you first worked together.
The intent was to allow your mental health to sort of grow metaphorical callouses, become accustomed and then desensitized to the fact that you came face to face with the physical embodiment of His monstrous and so very negative energy- that a large group of people were killed because of your incompetence. Be jaded enough so that you wouldn’t be reduced to a puddle of anxiety and panic attacks whenever He came near.
But you never conveyed any of this to Him.
An educated guess on your end, He likely interpreted your deliberate absence as you shunning Him; you can accept Him when He’s subdued and complacent and obediently following the orders of His master, but underneath the pretty facade? When His emotions overwhelm Him and all of His terrible power outgrows His vessel and literally tears Him asunder? That you can’t accept. Again, it’s all your own unconfirmed speculation, but from His perspective you rejected the real Him.
And by scorning Him you had hurt Alucard, and that’s why He’s apprehensive to reveal this part of Himself again.
And truth be told you did reject Him, as unintentional as it was, and you should’ve found a way to tell Him that you were working past this before the silence gave an answer for you. But you didn’t and now you’re dealing with the consequence.
You have one shot at this so don’t fuck it up or you’ll lose Him forever.
Hands curl into fists until the nails dig into the meat of your palms, you feel your spine straighten out and harden and both of your eyes peel open to the sight of fear.
Alucard’s fear, complete with a furrowed brow and rigid frown and red eyes scanning the scene before Him, and judging by the way His shoulders are glued to His chair you note that He’s bracing Himself.
There’s an ache in your sternum.
You look Him in the eye and tell Him that you’re ready, and if He notices the tension of the skin around your knuckles then He doesn’t say anything.
His energy shifts.
You draw a full breath into your lungs.
The air crackles.
You feel queezy.
His body splits open like a plastic bag melting from fire.
****
Breathe.
Repeat this mantra.
Inhale through your nose, one, two, three; exhale through your mouth, five, six, seven.
A whirlwind of noise entangles all around you, of screechy scurrying vermin and disembodied howling and inhuman whining; hundreds of voices topple over each other in a cacophony of horror and discord, all vying for your recognition yet never enough to make your ear drums bleed. Still you feel your own body trying to rob you of oxygen.
Look for Him, find Him. Ground yourself. You’re in no danger here.
No.
Your eyes widen with the dawning realization in your head.
No, you’re not seeking Him out. You match the attention of a particularly large eye towards your right side and you know that He’s here. The coils of rolling impenetrable shadows, the rows upon rows of jagged teeth snapping and snarling at the air, the congregation of numerous red eyes- unblinking, ever searching- solely focused on your every move... is Him. This assembly of chaotic entropy is Alucard- no matter how much your human psyche tries to, you cannot separate the monster from the man.
Your chin quivers; and you either accept all of Him, everything of who and/or what He is, or nothing at all and you forgo the bond between you two.
Swallowing around a hard knot lodged in the middle of your throat, willing yourself to just fucking breathe despite the fact that your skin is prickling with the tell tale signs of a mounting panic attack, you gently reach out into the darkness with an open palm until your fingertips breach a smoky, far too cold plume.
To your surprise, it solidifies into cool flesh.

TIMEZONE: CST
PERSONAL PREFERENCES
I’m over eighteen, and would prefer my partners are, too. This doesn’t mean I’m interested in NSFW-heavy plots; I do not write smut. It just means I’m more comfortable writing and interacting with other adults.
I consider myself to be lit-adv. I tend to enjoy partners in the lit+ category, but as long as you’re an enthusiastic and engaging partner, I don’t care about perfect grammar. I would rather write with someone just as involved and excited as I am, than I would with someone who isn’t very engaging but knows exactly what to do with obscure punctuation.
I’ve tried Kik, Hangouts, etc.; they just don’t stick for me. If you would prefer first contact be through email, you can shoot me a quick message and your handle to [email protected].
I’m fine with threading in a GDoc or a server, but I will not thread over DMs. It’s difficult to have OOC chatter and the thread over the top of each other.
If you’re looking for a partner that writes a reply a day without fail, that’s not me. I prefer that we don’t have “posting schedules” or set posting times, because I find that it turns writing into a chore. It’s great if you reply immediately, and it’s totally okay if you need a week to figure something out!
I can play as many characters as needed, whether it’s just one or it’s six.
In fact, I love the idea that we click so well that we just can’t stop coming up with good ideas! So definitely don’t be afraid to pitch something new to me, whether it’s because you want to switch gears (and drop a thread for another), or want to do everything at once.
Romance is a must for me! I prefer slow and agonizing journeys to get there, but my attention is best held by romantic chemistry between characters.
I can provide writing samples upon request, though I never require them from my partner. Additionally, I have some plots written out if you’re interested in that sort of thing.
NOT SURE, BUT WILLING TO EXPLORE
Avatar: the Last Airbender (particularly Zutara), Eragon, Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiznaiver, The Legend of Zelda, Soul Eater, Steven Universe, Tokyo Ghoul, Twilight, Yuri!!! on Ice
SETTINGS
A/B/O (I will not play only alphas for only omegas, nor will I play overly trope-y, non-con, “boys love”/"yaoi” plots.), Age of Sail, alien worlds/alien invasions, celebrity, fairytales and mythology (including “inspired by” retellings), fantasy (including medieval, urban, and high fantasy), alt-historical and modern royalty, mutants/gifted, organized crime, science fiction (especially including aliens), some historical (excluding medieval, colonial, and the Roaring Twenties/Great Depression), Southern gothic, supernatural, Victorian (especially the London ton), post-apocalyptic
I’m really looking forward to hearing from you!

Note
after that last anon you answered, i'm now curious about how you pace your stories! i'm usually a little too excited for all the things i want to happen, so i do a lot of skipping ahead and getting to the meat for a fast-paced story. but!! your space cowboy stories are SO GOOD and i know they wouldn't be the same with my kind of pacing, so yeah. i'm curious ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hi there, honey! :D *hugs*
Okay, this was another question I had to think about for a long time … I often conflate pacing and overall story structure, so fair warning, that is probably gonna happen here.
I’m going to start off with a fairly obvious fact, which is that different stories require different pacing, and that the rules in fanfiction, I find, are a little looser.
This is because we rarely need much exposition in fanfiction, since we’re assuming our readers already know these characters and these settings, so we don’t have to worry too much about explanations or descriptions. That being said, there is always some world-building (particularly in AUs), and that can be pretty challenging to insert without disrupting the … narrative flow, I guess?
There’s a sort of … ebb and flow, overall, to a story. There are quiet times and loud times. There’s talking and then there’s action. Now, the other reason why I say fanfiction is different is because I am perfectly happy reading a story that is literally just characters being domestic, or having emotional conversations (communication, I love it so much) or … every other fun trope in fandom.
I think the way I’ve always approached pacing is to fret about it in the planning stage. Once I start writing, I’m very character-focused, so my main concern is keeping everybody as in-character and “realistic” as possible, since I usually already have an outline with all the plot/emotional beats in place (written or up in my head). But pacing does come up at times even when I have most of the story planned, and I think the biggest indicator of a pacing issue is when you get stuck while writing.
Getting stuck isn’t always about that narrative flow — there are hundreds of reasons why I get writer’s block — but I have found that sometimes it’s because I’m writing something that’s disrupting the flow. Sometimes it’s a dialogue scene that runs too long, and characters are saying/explaining things that I could just show or summarize in a descriptive paragraph. Sometimes it’s a scene that’s totally redundant, period, and I scrap it entirely.
In other words, skipping ahead and getting to the meat is totally valid on occasion ;D
As for the space cowboys … *throws hands in the air* … Here’s a look as to how that mess got organized into a semi-coherent flow of words — massive, likely incoherent ramble under the cut!
Tumblr media
First off: a one-story example — The Six-Gun Sound.
That story has the most basic pacing ever. Action scene at the start, exposition/dialogue scene right after that sets up the main plot/motive for the characters, followed by a steady build that goes right into that heist. The heist then slowly builds until BAM. Everything goes wrong, there are literal explosions, and then a climax of both the main plot-line and the emotional plot-line. (There is pacing set for both of those when I plan, usually. The plot informs the emotional beats and vice versa, depending on which is more important at any given time.)
In shorter words: action, calm, build-up to more action, big action, calm, and then the resolution. That kind of “ebb and flow” is basically how most stories work, I believe. If you have that going on in your tales, then I think you’re golden :D
I totally break those rules in many of my other tales, but, yeah. There it is ;)
Now, secondly: the entire Trouble’s Making Everything All Right series.
That is just … well, a giant mess, but it’s one that I find works for me? I might be confusing pacing with other parts of narrative structure, but overall, there’s a certain ebb and flow that leads to the first huge climax (which I believe is Short Change Heroes). Um, I’m going to try and explain and hope that it helps you?
Trouble Coming is essentially my expositional story (though I initially had no idea how long this series would go). If, for example, in your own writing you feel like “skipping” all that establishing information, well, I’m gonna be horrible and give you that old cliché — show and don’t tell (much).
I still had to explain some stuff in that story, but having no Team Voltron, having Lance and Keith sitting around that poker table, cheating at cards (Keith), and flirting as a distraction (Lance), while being tough as nails, pretty much establishes that something not good has happened. Especially as Keith worries about making ends meet.
Following that, the attack afterwards, which they treat as business as usual, barely blinking at the deaths they cause … Again, I don’t think I needed to tell you guys that they had been through some bad stuff. And they were continuing to go through some bad stuff. I don’t actually explain much until more than halfway through the story, when they’re back at the inn and there’s a moment of calm. (Again, I’m not great at pacing, but I tried to put a bit of ebb and flow in this series as a whole.) (Action at the beginning, sort of, and then calm.)
Six Gun Sound is pretty much all action, and it retroactively explains partially how Lance and Keith came to be the way they are (and how they got together ;D), and since you’ve already seen how jaded and broken they are in Trouble Coming, I like to think it makes for a sharper, harsher contrast to see them more … good just as they cross that line into becoming The Two McClains. (Lots of action/emotional conflict.)
Following that action-filled, emotional story, we’ve got Broken Bone World, which jumps forward to the more jaded Lance and Keith, but this time, we get to see them relax and perfectly in love with each other — and generally more settled in their new mercenary existence. (More calm.)
And then, Shuffling Madness, back in the past, is lots of action, lots of suffering — I hoped that seeing them as Paladins after three stories as space cowboys would be quite impactful in hindsight? Basically, seeing them being so optimistic about their chances makes you wince on their behalf because you, as the reader, already know how they end up. (Plenty of action/emotional turmoil.)
This is the point where the series is actually building towards the main climax. I had hinted at Keegin Dras going all the way back to the first story. But Paradise City is where the tension, um, kicks up, I guess (some of y’all may remember that cliffhanger? Er, sorry?) (Build-up to lots of action with a sudden stop and cliffhanger.)
I really like contrast, so this is my own personal opinion/writing style, but, um, yeah, there you go.
Edit: Damn, I totally forgot to mention Heaven Above You, which was probably one of my favourites to write — it prolongs the tension between Paradise City and Short Change Heroes, but also, while it isn’t too heavy on the action, I think of it is as still tension building because it shows that defining moment when Lance chose to take a life that wasn’t a direct threat to him. It’s an almost purely expositional story, but it sets up the emotional conflict of Short Change Heroes, while Paradise City sets up the main plot conflict?(Bit of action, mostly calm, but lots of emotional turmoil.)
Short Change Heroes is a damn disaster, but it’s a disaster I kinda really loved writing. There are just so many conversations. It really shouldn’t have had that many dialogue scenes. Holy crap, that war council is a story in and of itself, and I am definitely not Tolkien, holy crap, no.
But, um, here’s where I contradict myself and say — I didn’t care about pacing, I just wanted to get these people (Team Voltron + The Two McClains) actually talking because communication rocks, and they absolutely would’ve wanted to talk a ton after a year apart.
I did try and chop up some of the dialogue/exposition with a few action-type scenes (the interrogation scene, then that gang ambush, and that brief attack during the war council), but those scenes were also key to the plot-line and the emotional stuff. I was focused on pacing when I chose where to place those scenes, so that things would feel balanced and move forward smoothly.
So, if in your own writing, you feel like you want to skip ahead, but you also feel like whatever information you need to impart (or interaction these characters need to have) is important to the plot/pacing (e.g. you need a quiet moment before battle or you need to show off an action scene before you can get to that juicy emotional resolution), find a way to make it fun for you to tell! I am a sucker for gritty honesty or sappy confessions or no-holds-barred arguing, so that’s how I handle some exposition. I love creating angsty situations instead of just explaining that someone’s had a bad time.
Basically, in summation: I try to keep action and moments of stillness somewhat balanced.
— A huge burst of action demands a longer moment of quiet/reflection, or a longer emotional conversation and/or resolution afterwards.
— A massive emotional fight/discussion demands that the characters either have time apart or some kind of quiet/temporary peace after (even if the fight isn’t resolved right away or the discussion hasn’t unloaded everything in their heads).
This is my preferred rhythm to story-telling, both on small (one story) or large (series) scales. This way a story doesn’t feel too stilted, or overly long (too many quiet moments?), or like it isn’t letting up/allowing the reader to settle (too many action moments?) — an even rhythm/flow carries the reader along easily (hopefully).
I break these rules of mine often, but this is a general rant ;D
I really, really hope this has helped you, that this hasn’t bored you to death, and that I haven’t been totally nonsensical. I am honestly not even sure I answered this question at this point — it kinda just turned into a freakishly long ramble. *sweats* Sorry!
You are very kind to ask, and I am so grateful to you! Best of luck with the writing, dear! *all the hugs*

fic: the heroes of the imperium and the av club 1/?
Crooked Little House Part Two, in which Karkat is on a mission to  make sure no kills anyone else, the Disciple counts heads and gets the  heroes ready for their fifteen minutes of fame, and Gamzee...isn’t doing  too well.
==>Karkat: wake the hell up
In your dream, Aradia is very earnestly explaining something to you, while you’re standing in front of a door. You nod, not really listening because you’re experiencing a terrifying amount of déjà vu. You are the definition of hesitation, expecting Jack to appear at any moment. “Go for it dude,” Dave urges you.
“Carpe noctem!” Jade says with a grin.
“What about you guys?” you can’t help but ask.
“We have a ways to go yet, don’t worry about it,” Dave says, and pats your shoulder.
“‘Ways to go yet?’” John asks.
“That is a surprisingly down home turn of phrase,” Rose agrees.
“Wow, fuck you guys,” Dave says. “Here I am trying to reassure my nubby bro here and you have to ruin our Moment. Moments are sacred, okay?”
“I will do approximately all of the worrying,” you say, ignoring the exchange. “If you can’t come with, what’s going to happen to you guys?”
“We got our own doors, dude,” Dave says. “We’re a bit further out than you guys.” He doesn’t mention that this is most likely what Aradia had been telling you, that you hadn’t been paying attention to. You can hear it in his voice though. Smug asshole.
You clamp your mouth shut against the wigglerish wail of, but I’ll never see you again! Instead, you nod. “Okay, fine. Let’s do this.”
“You’re making it happen,” Dave says.
You snort and open the door. Eleven of you head through the door. You turn back for a moment before following your friends. Dave’s smiling at you, and behind him Jade is giving you double pistols and a wink. Dork. John and Rose are waving at you, and their Dancestors are looking on with polite interest. You smile back and wave before heading through the door and everything vanishes and reassembles.
You wake up to a persistent ping from a husktop that is too shiny and new to be yours. Everything in the room you’re in is too shiny and new to be yours, the room included. You can smell paint; it’s that kind of new. You work your way out of the recuperacoon, scraping off slime that you can tell doesn’t have a whole lot of sopor in it, and head over to the new husktop. A Trollian window is blinking at you.
[circesCalamity (CC) is trolling carcinoGeneticist (CG) !]
CC: You up yet sprat?
CC: Wake up already time’s wasting.
CC: There’s shit that needs doing.
CC: Wake the shell up.
CC: Wake up.
CC: Your Empress requests and requires you to stop wasting her time.
[carcinoGenetcist (CG) is staring at the screen!]
CC: Finally. Thought y’all were going to sleep a hundred sweeps like some dumbass bowling with fairies.
[carcinoGeneticist (CG) is not typing!]
CC: What you’re supposed to say right here, sprat is, “forgive me, your majesty,” and then some kind of bullshit about being at my service.
CG: …
CG: FORGIVE ME YOUR MAJESTY… I HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA OF WHAT TO SAY.
CC: Not much like your Ancestor then. Basshole never shuts up and he’s fucking dead.
[carcinoGeneticist (CG) is not typing!]
[carcinoGeneticist (CG) has resumed staring at the screen!]
CC: Okay, shit. First things first. I am not the beach from your timeline, but I have a general idea of how shit went down. I got the download of what the hell’s going on as a result of this being a restart iteration of our universe, and you sprats arriving from the Game.
CC: Are you following me so far?
CG: …
CG: YES YOUR MAJESTY.
CC: Aight. This universe more or less follows your universe’s timeline except for the following: A) I have never had a lusus and there ain’t any hosts, excellent or otherwise on the green moon. B) Y’all got inserted into this timeline at about the point you left it for the game. C) There ain’t any game from this point, and there won’t be one. D) A whole bunch of history happened here that didn’t happen the way it did in your timeline, so y’all are going to be retaking a whole fuckload of history modules. E) Your hemotype is not a death sentence.
CC: You got all that, nubs the younger?
CG: YES YOUR MAJESTY.
CC: Your job right now is to see about getting everyone up and ready to meet your Pouncelor. Also you’re going to be doing some media appearances and shit like that. Y’all have done a Great and Entirely Classified Service to the Empire. We got speeches and everything prepared for all y’all, so don’t worry about it.
CG: OKAY. I’LL GET RIGHT ON THAT.
CC: Awesome.
[circesCalamity (CC) is no longer trolling carcinoGeneticist (CG)]
You stare at the conversation a moment, not quite believing what you’re reading. You’re a little worried about the mention of a “pouncelor” and “media appearances.” You’re even more worried about where you are and everyone being alive again.  It’s not that you’re unhappy your friends are alive again, it’s just…you’re worried. Really worried.
You dress and venture out of the block and into a hallway that slants slightly and creaks. There’s four doors spaced unevenly down the hallway, which ends in another hallway on one end, and a flight of stairs going down at the other. The second hallway turns around a corner. There’s four more doors and another set of stairs on one end, this one going up, and some kind of glassed in balcony/green house on the other. It’s full of plants and the glass is tinted. There’s a long window seat, a couple of chairs, miniature fountains, and a little pool full of fish.
Outside, there’s a huge fenced in lawnring with a swimming pool. There are also trees and flowerbeds. Beyond the fence is forest, and above the trees are the green and pink moons.
Past the balcony is another staircase that has two landings going down. At the bottom is a kind of cul de sac with three doors. You go back up the staircase to the greenhouse, and from there go back to the stair case going up. There are three doors and a half circle stained glass window in the hallway. There’s another staircase going up, that you think might go to the roof or an attic. You don’t test it just yet.
So, you’re supposed to be waking people up, not just exploring the house. You knock on the nearest door, not sure who to expect. (Highest floor, so maybe one of the highbloods?) There’s a protest noise on the other side of the door. “Rise and conquer, this is your leader speaking!” You shout, and knock a little louder.
“Why are you in my hive?” The voice--Vriska’s-- on the other side of the door is muffled and outraged. “Wait, am I actually in your hive? What the hell?”
“It’s no body’s hive,” you say. “Maybe everyone’s hive, I have no fucking clue. Just get up.”
“Uuuuuuuugh,” Vriska says. “Fine.” She emerges wearing a blue fuzzy ablution block robe decorated with little gold spiders, and matching slippers. Her hair’s been shaved along the sides, with a long strip in the middle. “Dibs on the bathroom,” she says.
“There’s probably more than one ablution block,” you tell her.
“Don’t care,” she says with an almost familiar toss of her mane. “I get dibs on the first one.”
The next room turns out to be Nepeta’s, and the last is Equius’.  Both are kind of confused and want to know what’s going on. “Let’s get everyone together first,” you tell them. “I only have the very vaguest of an inkling of what the fuck and I don’t want to repeat myself over and over.”
You’re all about to head down to the next floor when there’s some thumping from the ceiling. It turns out that the house does have an attic, which is accessible by a hatch and a very narrow stair case that drops down, not the staircase at the end of the hall. It takes Eridan about five minutes to both find the hatch, and get it descend, which it does with extreme creakiness. (Equius says something about repairing it.) Eridan comes down in striped pajama bottoms and a violet ablution block robe. “Kar,” he says with quiet wariness. “You still mad at me?”
“I have every reason to be,” you tell him.
“Yeah,” Eridan says, and looks away. “S’long as you don’t want to cut me in half,” he says, almost humorously. “God,” he says, wrapping his arms around his middle. “Me and Fef, we got most of our mad out,” he says. “Maybe. Might be better to stay upstairs because of Kan, though.”
He means, you realize, he and Feferi talked it out in the dream bubbles. “Yeah, no,” you tell him. “I will protect you from the chainsaw of fuck you, get moving.”  You herd everyone down to the next floor. The first occupant of this floor you find is Tavros. He’s already awake and singing to himself in one of the two bathrooms on this level. Vriska immediately disappears into the second one.
You yell at Tavros to hurry up. The next occupants you find are Aradia and Sollux. The door to what you’re pretty sure is her room is open, and they’re both sitting on the bed, sharing a husktop. “Hello, Karkat!” Aradia says cheerfully. Sollux gives you a very tiny, completely annoying glance over his shades and waves. “Pouncelor Leijon says she’ll be here in about an hour.”
“Great,” you say. “Wait, you talked to her?”
“Leijon?” Nepeta asks with great curiousity.
“Meulin Leijon, your Ancestor,” Aradia says. “Yep! She says she’s bringing breakfast, and wants to introduce herself and familiarize us with school feeding and something called juvenile care and socialization?”
“She’s like some kind of troll lusus or cavern tendant,”  Sollux says.
“Tendants?” Eridan mutters, incensed. “Like we’re little grubs?”
“If she’s Nepeta’s ancestor, she’s an olive, not a jade,” Equius says uncomfortably.
“No, really?” Sollux says, scoffing. “Apparently this job doesn’t require that you be a jade,” Sollux says.
“But jades are the only adults permitted to be on the planet,” Equius says. “I am not sure we are equipped to meet an adult.”
“Surprised I didn’t hear an ‘even if olive,’ there, EQ,” Sollux says.
Equius frowns at Sollux. “And you won’t,” he says. “If Nepeta is strong willed and appallingly murderous, her Ancestor could be no less.”
Nepeta hugs Equius’ arm. “You say the sweetest things, Equi-hiss,” she says. “Anyhow, it sounds like she’s supposed to be here to help? Not attack us.”
“Everyone should be on the alert anyway,” you say. “This whole situation is weird.”
You continue your mission, only Eridan and Sollux following you while everyone else chats with Aradia and each other. There is something really weird going on with them and you’re not sure what the hell it is. The biggest thing is that they aren’t arguing with each other, which is weird. (And you have really clear memories of their stupid fucking arguments all the time on the meteor, just before Eridan completely lost his mind and decided throwing in with Jack could be a thing.) The second thing is that they are moving in fucking step with each other. “So, you guys also talk your mad out in the bubbles?” you ask.
“Something like that,” Eridan says.
“Fucking bullshit is what it was,” Sollux says. “Goddamn Hope players.”
“Says the Doom player who wouldn’t fucking let go,” Eridan says. Despite the words, he sounds almost chipper about it.
“Would you mind explaining what the hell you’re talking about?” You ask.
“We got dumped into a sprite,” Sollux and Eridan say in unison. “Obviously.”
“Shit,” you say. “Are you um. All right?”
“Think so,” Eridan says. Sollux shrugs.
“Who was your player?”
“Jake,” Sollux says. “Tally ho what old egg let me impersonate Troll Bertie fucking Wooster, only it wasn’t’ an impersonation, he really talked like that.”
“Feferi an’ Nepeta really would have been a better sprite combo than me and Sol. Which is probably what Gamz wanted,” Eridan says.
“We wouldn’t have been any better with that Roxy chick,” Sol disagrees. “Or with Dirk.”
“Coulda spilled all the legumes about Princes so he could fix his shit,” Eridan says.
“Except we also wouldn’t’ve given a fuck because of our own shit,” Sol says.
Eridan sighs. “Point.”
Your digestion bladder meanwhile does a slow flip, knowing Gamzee was probably going to be here too. You don’t know how you feel about that, so you focus on finding everyone else. Next is Feferi who comes out of her room wearing dark shades and a head wrap covering her ears, looking spooked, not wearing even a bit of fuchsia. “Carp-cat!” She says, brightening at the sight of you. She wraps you up in a tight, startling hug. “You won’t believe who I got done talking to!” She goes on to give hugs to Eridan and Sollux. “Holy crappie! I’m so glad to see you all, even though I knew you’d be alewife,” she says.
“The Empress?” You guess.
Feferi gives a quick nod, looking spooked again.
“New look, Fef?” Eridan asks. Her hug attacks have ended on him, somehow. It’s kind of jarring, and pretty far from what you remember. It’s obvious though that Eridan hadn’t been exaggerating about making up in the dream bubbles.
“Whale see, apparently trolls react certain ways to certain colors,” Feferi says. “It’s all instinct right, how you respond to those colors. Fuchsia’s attack each other. Like instant black rom or somefin. The instinct is reely, reely strong in Fuchsia bloods, and even though it mostly shows up in my fins because my eyes haven’t come in yet I gotta get used to covering up my fins and eyes because she’s coming here for a visit!”
Eridan immediately wants to know more about color reactions for obviously casteist reasons. Sollux and Feferi whack him into a sulky but somehow satisfied silence. You do not want to know. You do not care. You are kind of panicked by the idea of a visit from the Empress. At the same time, you kind of remember Meenah, and it seems like this Empress is pretty much like her, in a lot of ways. “We’ll blow up that bridge when we get to it. Right now we apparently have Nepeta’s Ancestor incoming and we still need to find Terezi, Kanaya…and Gamzee.”
You find Terezi coming upstairs, having apparently done her own bout of exploring on the ground floor of the house.  Kanaya has joined the group hanging out by Aradia’s room. Her room is apparently one of the rooms on the sub floor past the garden.
The one you don’t find is Gamzee. You find what was apparently supposed to be his room though, on the same level that Kanaya’s room is on. (This definitely seems like a good idea that wouldn’t go wrong in any sense, yeah.) The window is open, and a mid-season breeze is bringing in the smell of wet trees and leaves.
