𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐌𝐄𝐍 that know how to treat a woman. You know this isn’t their first rodeo, and it’s clear it won’t be their last. They put your pleasure above their own, making it their goal to tease you until you cry.
𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐌𝐄𝐍 that make sure your neighbors can hear you. They have no shame when it comes to making you feel good, or making you loud.
𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐌𝐄𝐍 that whisper “it’s okay baby” while they go down on you. Their thrusts are harsh, but their kisses aren’t, and they make sure to talk you through the whole thing.
𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐌𝐄𝐍 who have you calling them back because you know no one else can do you as well as they can.

Thinking about how Jotaro Kujo is The Tragic Character™️ of JJBA. Araki simply cannot let that man be happy. He fr said “you can fit so much trauma into this bad boy”!
His entire life was so tragic that we all knew he was going to die, eventually.
His Mother’s life was endangered and on the journey to save her he gains significant trauma from people trying to KILL him and then lost three friends at the ripe old age of 17.
He goes to University, meets a woman he falls in love with, and has a kid. realizes that as long as there’s a threat of enemy stand users wanting revenge for Dio his family will never be safe so he has to leave his family behind and distance himself.
Became a older brother/father figure to Josuke but had to leave him because he knew he would bring enemy stand users into that poor boys life- the only Joestar that had a somewhat of a shot at being normal.
Then in part 5 it’s revealed that when he got separated from Polnareff, Diavolo paralyzed Polnareff. He’s probably carrying guilt from that. He’s also probably stressed asf at first that the son of the vampire who tried to adamantly kill him is just out there somewhere. Thank god Giorno took after Jonathan 😭.
Then in part 6, he had to face his failures as a father, understanding that he didn’t deserve and probably would never get Jolyne’s forgiveness, but it’s so clear to me that Jotaro wanted to be there for her. But of course, to him, the only way he can protect people is to push them far away from him. He never learned that he is stronger in numbers because whenever he was in numbers, someone he loved got hurt.
Jotaro never understood he deserved the happiness of a loving family.
He couldn’t even save his daughter (and he dies believing that Jolyne hates him because he knows he’s a shit father AND WAS OK WITH IT AS LONG AS SHE GOT TO LIVE 😭😭😭) in the process.
He’s a Greek Myth type of sadness.

wake up
synopsis: you’ve recently awakened a power after being injured. around the same time your husband begins filing for divorce. your only company is your daughter jolyne and the monster keeping you up at night
tw: divorce mentions, relationship strife, angst, hurt, comfort, swearing, implied afab reader (cause jolyne is you and jotaro’s kid)
Tumblr media
Your fingers gently take the hair clips out of Jolyne’s hair. She wanted to wear butterfly hair clips with her fishtail braid, so you happily put them in. Now that she’s back from elementary school her hair is a bit messy from playing, loose strands and broken butterfly clips on her head.
“Did you have a good day, Jojo?” She begins to ramble about her day with a smile, her outspoken nature definitely coming more from you than Jotaro. Jolyne tells you about how she won every dodgeball game in gym class and how everyone was so impressed. “That’s amazing dear.” You say while beginning to comb out her hair, as all the clips and elastic bands are out. “Your hair is getting really long.” You comment as it falls to her mid back, and she just shrugs.
“I kinda want a haircut.” A hum of acknowledgement accompanies Jolyne’s statement.
“I wouldn’t be opposed. It’ll always grow back if you want it longer again.” Jolyne nods with a bounce, making you halt your brushing so she doesn’t get her hair tugged on. “Do you have any homework tonight?”
“Just a bit! I’ll do it once you put my hair up,” she says it with a pout and you can hear it in her tone. She’s such a precious child, you think as you finish combing her hair and pin it into a loose bun.
“Dinner will be ready for you when you’re done dear. Let me know if you need any help.” Jolyne nods with a smile and runs upstairs to her room. You watch as she races to her room, the door shutting softly behind her. Your heart stings as you head to the kitchen to begin dinner. Jotaro has been coming home long after you’ve eaten with Jolyne for the past few days.
Shaking your head as if that’ll shake these thoughts from your mind, you look in the cupboards for your recipe book. As you rummage in the back of the shelf you see an ornate brooch in the shape of a beetle. Curious, you pick it up. It feels like a knife tears right through your palm and you drop it with a scream. Jolyne comes racing down from her room, stopping at the end of the stairs when you tell her to hastily.
“I’m okay Jojo! Just scratched myself, you should get started on that homework.” You offer her a smile, gritting your teeth behind closed lips. Her eyebrows push together but she nods, heading back up to her room. Once the doors closed you let out a groan, watching as blood dripped down your hand and onto your tile floor. “I need to clean this up,” You calmly state while wiping the blood from your palm onto your apron you put on since entering the kitchen.
“I’m sure this brooch is Jotaro’s, I’ll put it on his desk too.” You mutter while exiting the kitchen. In the adjacent room you find his work study and you place the brooch in a drawer full of various nick-nacks. The tchotchke was fairly cute, but you can’t help but wonder why he had it.
Turning around to clean the kitchen, you see a looming figure. Its body has [color] accents with gold and beige, skin adorned with scales resembling a pangolin. You fall back, anxious of getting too close to this stranger. It has a long tail that’s curling into itself, angular eyes and an animalistic snout.
“Who-what are you?” Scrambling to your feet, you watch the strange creature stare at you with those beady eyes. In the pupils you can see stars and in the iris you see your shocked expression staring back at you. You watch the monster with wide eyes, terrified that when you blink you’ll be a goner. It stares back with absent vigor, with hazy eyes like it has cataracts. “Leave me alone…” You whisper in a silent plea. You can’t let anything happen to Jolyne.
“I’m Wake Up.” It’s voice is scratchy like you imagine those scales to be. “I’m your stand. I’ve been born from your soul’s desires.” You shake your head, entirely disbelieving this entire situation. “You’re not imagining this.”
You just wish for this to end. Your breathing begins to shake, pupils shaking as anxiety takes a hold of you. The throbbing in your hand begins to burn when the creature places its hand on yours. It has long nails just like a rodent. The radiating pain begins to calm upon touching the scales covering it’s body.
“This is your power. I can heal with these scales and I can harden my body. Like a pangolin my tongue is long, and my claws are nigh indestructible. If you take off these scales they’ll act like a tracking device.” You stare at the creature – you mean your stand – still shell-shocked. “I’m here to help. Not hurt.” Eventually you nod, allowing this being into your life. Still you’re scared and worried for yourself and Jolyne, but you can’t do anything at the moment. Suddenly it disappears, the creature retracting into a scaly ball before vanishing from your sights. Your breath hitches, still shaken up over the ordeal.
You head to the kitchen with a towel anyway, quickly wiping the blood from the floor and beginning dinner.
☆☆☆ ☆☆☆ ☆☆☆
Another night where Jolyne and you are eating dinner together. She picks at her food, upset that her father isn’t there. You’re upset too, eyebrows pushed together as you stir the ice cubes in your water. Jolyne isn’t chatty like she normally is, staring blankly at the food on her plate as she plays with it. Normally you’ll tell her to be careful to not make a mess but words are logged in your throat and no matter how much water you drink it won’t move.
Jolyne goes to bed the earliest she has in a long time that night. It’s now nine pm and you’re laying in bed, your pangolin-esque stand sitting at the end of your shared bed with Jotaro. Jolyne was asleep last you checked on her, so you invited the mystery to appear again.
“Do I control when you appear?”
“Mostly,” Wake Up responds while wiggling its scaly tail. “Sometimes I won’t listen.”
Your eyebrows react to that by lowering. “What do you mean by-”
“Like now!” The creature vanishes as the bedroom door opens. Jotaro enters with his usual serious expression, your hands are against the sheets with a look that reads you’re not happy about your stand’s audacity.
“Jotaro.” You greet him with a bittersweet smile, heart aching at his absence but finally feeling minimal relief at his awaited appearance. “Was work alri-”
He cuts you off immediately by removing his top to change into pajamas along with his blunt words. “We should get a divorce.”
Your heart sinks into your stomach. If you weren’t sitting in bed you worry the weight of what he just said would cause it to fall right through you. Like a deer in the headlights you stare at him, mind entirely frazzled by his proposition.
“I’ve gotten all the papers ready. I need your approval.”
Is this why he was home late every night? When you thought he was working late to make sure Jolyne had everything she could ever want and you could indulge in your hobbies – he was really just going behind your back to remove you from his life?
Your breathing becomes erratic as you stare at the man you vowed to love all your life. His effigy is a painful reminder that you’ve honored that – through all the times he's been short with you, he’s yelled, he’s acted on whatever he needed for himself – but he hasn’t. When he said “I do” all those years ago he was lying. Your face is growing hot in anger and sorrow, tears soothing the burning of your face. Cupping your face with your hands, you try to hide all the emotions overflowing. It’s obvious despite your shaking hands hiding your tear stained face because of your loud hiccups.
The mattress sinks a little as Jotaro gets into bed with you to be met with you turning away. You can’t see how his eyes narrow in his own sadness. You don’t know why he’s doing this, or how much he still loves you. As he watches you sob his own heart is breaking, especially with how you refuse his comfort. He wishes he could stay with you, that he could stay with Jolyne, but your safety has always been his priority.
“I’m so sorry.” Jotaro says empathetically while your body shakes.
“Sorry you don’t love me anymore.” You said it so quietly, your sobs and hiccups interrupting the words, but Jotaro hears it and wants this to have never happened.
☆☆☆ ☆☆☆ ☆☆☆
The divorce is underway and you can’t sleep. Jotaro comes home even later than before which fills your mind with rage and resentment. Is he actually working or is he getting the things you couldn’t give him? Is he overworking himself like you always thought or is he getting stress relief from someone in the way you thought he only got from you?
Jolyne notices how your gentle and nurturing nature has changed. Instead of seeing the glass half full you see it empty. As you brush her hair you aren’t humming, instead you’re staring off into space and stroking and stroking and stroking it until Jolyne asks if you’re okay.
Your dinners are less coordinated. The dishes aren’t done as you cook, now they gather at the edge of the sink and stay in the dishwasher until noon. The apples in her lunch aren’t cut to look like bunnies, the napkins don’t have sweet notes on them, and there’s no cute animal forks for her to eat her vegetables with.
“You’re worrying Jolyne.” Wake Up ridicules while you stare into the vacant spot besides you. It’s so cold without your furnace of a husband beside you. “I know shit’s rough but Jolyne deserves a present parent. And Jotaro isn’t present for either of you.” You know their right but you still feel anger in your soul. Naturally, Wake Up knows that. “You can’t make him love you again.”
“I know that!” You snap despite your best attempts to keep it inside. Tears flow down your face again, face heating up as you recall what Jotaro had said nights ago. “I know that,” You reiterate in a broken voice. You’re so tired of sobbing – so tired of being strong. But you know Wake Up is right. Jolyne needs you to be strong for her.
The next morning Jolyne wakes up to the smell of pancakes. She races down the steps, seeing you humming while flipping the fluffy breakfast. There’s cut strawberries and bananas in a dish, whipped cream and syrup on the counter too. Three plates are set up which fills Jolyne with hope that her dad did come home last night. It fills you with hope too despite knowing he never came to bed. It’s false hope but it’s what you feel you need. Once the pancakes are all done you serve her, watching as she happily gets fruit and syrup to eat them with.
“Thank you!” Jolyne has a big smile, her messy hair all over the place since you didn’t pin it up for her.
“Of course Jojo.” You smile back while grabbing the comb, elastics, and hairclips. “Once you’re done eating I’ll help tidy up your hair.”
☆☆☆ ☆☆☆ ☆☆☆
Waiting for the divorce to finally happen may be breaking you more than the initial conversation. It’s like living a double life, putting on a happy front for Jolyne while falling into a deep spiral every time you’re alone with the lights off.
Tonight’s like any other as your mind races and Wake Up witnesses it while curled up into themself. Only this night the door opens, light being introduced from a distant world. You’re too preoccupied in your head to recall your stand, Jotaro’s subtly shocked expression going unnoticed by your closed eyes.
“[Name], get back!” That voice you know better than your own shouts startled. “This must be an enemy stand!” A purple entity emerges from behind him as your stand uncoils itself.
“No, it’s my stand.” You say with narrowed eyes. Jotaro stares at you in shock and recalls his own stand.
“When did this happen?”
“A week ago. I picked up the brooch you had in my recipe cupboard and it pierced me.” You extend your arm, showing him the scar along the lines of your palm. “You knew that brooch did this to people? Why did you even have it?” You stare at his blank expression and shake your head. “It’s like I don’t even know you. Like there’s this entirely different world you live in and you can’t give me access. I thought we loved each other, I thought we trusted each other.” You shake your head again before your voice can get louder. “But I realize I’m wrong about both.”
You’re met with silence as Jotaro thinks of what to say. If he should tell you that he loves you, that he just wants to be safe, that he’s never been happy away from you?
“I do love you-”
“Bullshit!” You’re so upset about the whole situation that you cut him off. “Why would you want a divorce then? Am I not good enough? I’ve only ever tried my hardest! What else could I do? I fucking love you, and-and you don’t love me,” You wish you’d stop talking with how rude you’re being, but all the anger held inside of you is coming out in full. “What did I do wrong?”
“I want to keep you and Jolyne safe. These abilities we have cause people to target us. I can’t let anything happen to you or Jolyne. I love you both too much for that to happen.” Jotaro comes closer to your figure on the bed, taking you in his arms. You think about thrashing against him, but it’s been so long without his touch and you melt completely into his body. “I love you. I love you so much.” Jotaro feels ready to cry with how much he’s hurt you in his attempts to put you out of harm. “You and Jolyne matter most to me.”
“I have a stand now,” You begin while wrapping your arms around his neck. Holding onto him tightly, you inhale his cologne. The scent of him is nearly gone from the sheets. “I can protect myself and Jolyne. You don’t need to do this.”
Jotaro is silent for a moment, thinking about your point. He doesn’t want to be naive in thinking that, but you may be right that your stand is enough to combat the dangerous nature of being unique.
“I trust you [Name].” Jotaro holds you tightly, relieved himself to have you in his arms. “I’ll cancel the divorce. I need you in my life.”
“I need you too.”

Family is who you choose
This is not a Jotaro x reader for once. It’s Jotaro being a good dad. You’re Jolyne’s best friend and come to her house for comfort. (I dunno how to tag it differently tho, sorry :()
This is unfinished, but I didn’t really plan on finishing it and it has enough meat so I might as well post it :3
Word Count: 1783
Knocking on the door, you had a hard time suppressing your emotions, simply keeping your quivering lips pressed together tightly as the details of the wood faded into blurs.
The lights inside the house were on so you knew someone was home as you waited, pulling your own jacket sleeves down until it felt like they would split at the seams.
“….o-“
“Yeah, yeah!”
Jolyne’s voice was heard from inside as she yelled to whoever was talking to her, all the while she approached the door on the other side. Hearing that, your heart thudded as you tried to compose yourself, sniffling as you tried to prepare for what you were going to say.
Before you knew it, the door was pulled open and before you stood your best- and childhood friend, Jolyne.
“Y/N! What are you doing here, you- Are you okay?” Her confusion instantly turned to concern as she took notice of your appearance.
Looking up at her, her genuine and worried expression caused your brittle wall to crumble as your face screwed up, a choked sob leaving you as you frantically shook your head no.
“Come in, come inside.” Instantly wrapping her arm around your shoulders, with her left she held your hands as she led you inside. “Dad!” Shouting out for the older man, you looked up to see him sitting at the dining table across the room, plates of half-finished food set up on it while he got up from the table, a frown on his face.
It was clear you had caught the Kujo family during one of their late-night dinners.
Having long since been a familiar face to the man in purple, seeing the state you were in he instantly went into concern mode, similarly to his daughter.
“Y/N? What’s going on?”
“I-“ You started, trying hard not to make any actual noise while the tears kept blurring your vision, both the ravens around you taking notice.
“Dad, can you-?” Jolyne didn’t even have to finish her sentence as Jotaro already nodded, humming a short hum as he walked out of the room and into the kitchen while Jolyne led you over to the table and sat you at the head.
“I’m sorry.” You whimpered, rubbing at your eyes as you tried to calm yourself.
“No, it’s okay. Tell me what happened.” Her voice was soft as she once more grabbed your hands, giving them a reassuring squeeze that made a pitiful sob-chuckle leave you.
“It’s him, what else?” Your throat felt thick and your voice nasal as you spoke, pulling one hand out of your friend’s hold to instead burrow into your jacket pocket.
“I swear to god I’m going to smash his face into concrete - no offence.” Jolyne brazenly huffed before looking down at you, not wanting to upset you further.
“None taken.” You chuckled wetly again, sniffling after as you pulled out your phone, clicking it on and typing in your password. “You remember how he never showed up for my graduation? No explanation, nothing?”
“I do.” Jolyne nodded a little tentatively and you turned your phone around, handing it to her with the messenger app open.
“I decided ‘Why not stick up for myself for once?‘” You mumbled, watching as the girl took your phone, her eyes starting to skim the texts.
“What the fuck?” Jolyne’s voice was an angry whisper, her brows furrowing. “He’s blaming you?!”
“What’s going on?”
Walking out of the kitchen, carrying three mugs, Jotaro came over, placing them down in front of their designated spots one by one and sliding away the plates of food while he looked between the two of you.
“Her father is blaming her!”
Furrowing his brows in confusion, the man slowly sat down, looking at the phone his daughter was waving around before looking at you, a silent ask for permission. You nodded and motioned for him to go ahead while you slid the cup he just put down closer to yourself, seeing the large mug filled to the brim with hot cocoa.
“I’m sorry for interrupting your dinner.” You mumbled, looking at the half-eaten plates of curry.
“Don’t worry, you couldn’t know dad was being an ass and working late again.” Jolyne smiled, bumping her shoulder into yours, which earned her a half-hearted glare from Jotaro.
“I was in my study. You could just as easily have notified me or made dinner yourself.”
“Nuh-uh, it’s your day to cook. I ain’t touching that kitchen on a Thursday.” Jolyne huffed, pulling up her nose to which Jotaro deadpanned.
“Jolyne, you barely cook the others days.”
Sputtering a bit, the girl pulled your chair closer to her, as if in an attempt to get you on her side, both physically as well as in the mock fight. “I cook at least once a week!”
“And I six times, where is your point.” Jotaro hummed, finishing reading the texts as he then put your phone down on the table, upside down.
“Y/N loves it when I cook.” Jolyne huffed, engulfing you in her arms and hugging your head into her chest, giving you no choice but to let her, a fond smile spreading on your face.
You knew they were probably bantering like this on purpose to get your mind off of things, but you also didn’t care. It was working.
With how often you came to the Kujo residence, this had become like a second home to you, and seeing how the father-and-daughter-duo squabbled always worked to make you smile.
“Y/N, have you eaten yet?”
The deep baritone breaking through your thoughts, you looked up from Jolyne’s chokehold to see Jotaro’s eyes on you, soft and calm.
“Well.. no but I’m not really hungry, it’s alright.”
The man nodded softly before shoving your mug a bit closer to you. “Here, take this with you. Go take a shower, kid. Decompress. You can talk to us after.”
“Hot cocoa in the shower? You have gone soft, old man.” Jolyne teased and the marine biologist sighed.
“No, they can drink it while you get some spare clothes.” Jotaro clarified, raising an eyebrow.
Narrowing her eyes, Jolyne looked at her father for a moment before getting up, taking you with her as she turned around and walked towards the stairs, looking back and sticking her tongue out at the older man one last time as if that was supposed to make her win their stand off.
Looking back as well, Jotaro’s eyes crossed with yours and you waved at him while Jolyne dragged you along, him putting his hand up as well as he shook his head with an amused huff at his daughter’s pettiness.
-
Stretching a bit, Jotaro cracked his neck a little before looking down. Your phone was still on the table from when he placed it there. Reaching out, he took hold of it and turned it around, touching the screen that had gone a shade darker to prevent it from shutting off as his eyes once more glid over the texts between you and your father.
For years you and him had been on thin ice, Jolyne having ranted about the stupid shit that asshole - in Jotaro’s eyes - did to you. Not to mention the few times you’d actually come to him to talk as well.
Having known you for coming close to two decades now, having watched you grow up, Jotaro held a fondness for you similar to what he felt for his own daughter. And thus, reading these texts, he felt his blood boil.
Back when you were still a child, somewhere under the age of ten - he couldn’t remember - your parents got divorced. He’d never truly liked your father yet after the divorce resulting from him cheating, the man showed his true colours. Every time he came to pick you up from Jotaro’s house, he ignored the marine biologist and his daughter other than a ‘thanks’ or ‘good evening’. It never failed to make Jotaro want to throttle him, especially seeing how reluctant you always were to go.
As the years passed, reluctance turned to fear until eventually there was a fallout and you decided to stop living with your dad altogether.
Sighing, Jotaro absentmindedly scrolled through the texts again, only to furrow his brow when he scrolled a little too far up. It was a bit of a breach of privacy but he couldn’t help it as he saw the texts that caused you to speak out against your father in the first place.
‘Hey, dad. Did you stop paying my monthly allowance?’
‘Yes, I did.’
‘Why?’
‘Because you graduated and are over 18.’
‘But you can’t do that… You and mom settled on it in the divorce contract. Until I’ve graduated college you can’t just stop.’
‘I don’t want to talk about this over text.’
Gritting his teeth, Jotaro put down your phone right as Jolyne came walking back in.
“What’s up, dad?” She asked, her brows furrowing.
Waving his hand a bit, Jotaro grunted in dismissal. “I’ll discuss it once Y/N is back down.”
Nodding softly, Jolyne then slid the mug in front of her closer, looking inside before softly chuckling. “Hot cocoa while we eat curry, really?”
“Oh shut it.” Jotaro huffed as he looked to the side, a blush appearing on his face. “It is Y/N’s comfort drink.”
Smiling softly, Jolyne then reached out, grabbing onto the man’s arm. “I know. Thank you, dad.”
Looking back, he nodded softly, placing his hand over hers and giving it a small squeeze.
It took about twenty minutes for you to calm down enough that you felt presentable and wouldn’t break down at the first mention, dressed in a mix of Jolyne’s and Jotaro’s clothes - Jolyne having forgotten to properly do her laundry, causing in a shortage of clean clothes and forcing her to borrow from her dad’s closet for you.
Walking inside the living room, you were met with the Kujo’s sitting at the table, plates of food in front of themselves while they were quietly talking, all the while a third plate sat at the head of the table, waiting for you.
“Ohh.. you really didn’t have to, I’m really not hungry.” You smiled awkwardly as you walked over, yet the both of them just looked at you while Jotaro pushed your chair out with his foot.
“Sit. You need to eat, c’mon.”
Chewing the inside of your cheek you nodded and just sat down. You had to admit, it smelled absolutely divine. Jotaro never failed to make something delicious whenever he cooked and it was always something you looked forward to whenever you stayed for a sleepover.
-
That’s all I had. But given the title you can guess how this was gonna end :3

I Saw You Close Your Eyes | Jotaro Kujo x Reader
An angsty fic that reviews your and Jotaro's relationship through the years leading up to and after your divorce. Slight Stone Ocean spoilers
warnings: afab reader, unplanned pregnancy, jotaro is bad at feelings srry
wc: 2340
a/n: loosely based on I Saw You Close Your Eyes by Local Natives
crossposted on my AO3 account despicablebisexual
Jotaro stared down at the infamous photo in his hand. It was the one all of them took the first time they met Iggy back in the late 80s. He laughed at the irony of it all. He worshiped this picture of him, his grandfather, his closest friends, and the woman who would go on to become his wife– it was the most valuable thing he had, yet he did nothing to honor the sacrifices these people gave for him.
He couldn’t even honor his vows he made to her when they were in their 20s.
----------
“Yeah… Turns out my period wasn’t late. I’m pregnant after all.”
His face was hard as stone as he took in the information. Jotaro, one to never reveal what he was thinking, scared you with his silence. He slouched in his chair as he took off his signature hat and played with it, thinking quietly.
“Let’s get married.”
“What?”
“Tsk, don’t play dumb, y/n. You heard what I said. Let’s get married.”
He knew it was a dumb thing to do at twenty-one. His father had yelled it was almost as dumb as knocking up “some girl” at twenty-one, but Jotaro was always one to walk to the beat of his own drum. Regardless of what his father said, his mother and grandfather had a soft spot for you, so you and the baby were going to fit right in with the family. Besides, you weren’t some girl, you were his girlfriend, who before he was even dating had risked your life to defend him during that journey to Egypt.
----------
“How can you act like this is nothing at all?”
Jotaro tucked the framed photo into a box of other random junk and picked it up, turning to walk away from you. You two had silently been packing up his office for the past two hours, but it appears the silence had finally gotten to you. Jotaro closed his eyes as he brisked by you, unable to handle being on the receiving end of your glare. He had always admired the feistiness aspect of your personality, it’s what made you a strong stand user. It was reflected in the personality of your stand, Pantera, as well. He used your quick temper as an excuse to divorce you, not wanting to admit the truth.
“We were supposed to be a team. You promised me. You always told me, ‘I’m on your side, y/n.’ What happened to the guy who saved my life back in Egypt?”
You followed him as he exited the house and placed the box in the trunk of his car.
“Have your lawyer send mine a list of everything you want. Don’t worry about fighting for the house, you can have it. I don’t plan on staying in Florida for much longer.”
You should have been taken aback at his callousness. He had deliberately bypassed your question just to make his own demand. That was how Jotaro usually rolled, though. He lived by his own rules, free from any societal expectations or imposed obligations.
You scoffed at him. “Who am I kidding? Of course, this is nothing for you. All you know how to do is run away from your problems.”
Jotaro screamed inwardly as he took the full brunt of your harsh words. You think this is nothing at all for me? He wanted to shout at you, his own quick temper bubbling to the surface. The walls around his heart that you knocked down all those years ago had returned, now fortified even more. The craving for nicotine came back suddenly, even though he quit smoking years ago. He was walking away from the love of his life and thirteen-year-old daughter, no it wasn’t fucking easy. Jotaro would rather have millions of knives thrown at him by Dio again then ever do this. But life wasn’t fair and neither was this.
----------
The landline phone rang abruptly in the dark of the hotel room Jotaro was currently sleeping in. The massive man rolled over to look at the clock. 4:33 AM.
“What?” he snapped as he answered the phone.
“Er- hello. Is this Mr. Jotaro Kujo?”
“Who wants to know?”
“My name is Ariana, I work at Tampa Bay Hospital. We have your wife, y/n Kujo in here as well as your daughter Jolyne. Your wife was in a devastating car accident and our team is preparing her for surgery.”
Jotaro sat up in his cheap bed, his heart sinking into his stomach. You were hurt? He felt like his lungs could no longer expand.
“What the hell happened?” he screamed into the phone.
“It appears your wife was driving and a reckless driver t-boned the driver’s side of the car. Her left leg is shattered, sir, and she’s got a concussion. There was also glass lodged into her body, which they’ll be surgically removing… Miraculously, your daughter has no injuries at all, save for a rash from the seatbelt dragging over the skin of her neck.”
This had stand attack written all over it. A crash that bad and yet Jolyne walked away unscathed? You must have protected her with your stand. He glanced over at the clock again, mentally berating himself. If it’s 4 in the morning here in Australia, where he currently was searching for stand arrows, then it was the middle of the day back in Florida. You must have been out getting groceries with Jolyne.
“Mr. Kujo?”
“Huh?” he was snapped out of his calculations.
“I asked if you would be making your way to see Mrs. Kujo soon. Our team had to sedate her, she was in extreme distress as she demanded we call for you.”
Fuck. “I’m in Australia right now for work.”
“Oh. Would you like us to notify another family member?”
Jotaro groaned as he pinched the bridge of his nose. The next closest family you guys had was the old man and grandma Suzi Q in New York, and in their old age they couldn’t do much. Both of your parents still resided in Japan. “No. I’ll make arrangements to get home as soon as I can. Do whatever you guys need to do to save her.” Jotaro hung up on the woman and began throwing his stuff back into his suitcase.
He made it back to Tampa late the next day, absolutely exhausted from the jet lag. He stormed his way into the hospital, not even caring to count as he threw a large wad of cash at the airport taxi driver who had rushed him here.
“Where is she?!”
The poor nursing staff all jumped as he roared. The receptionist at the desk timidly waved him down.
“Y/n Kujo. Where. Is. She.”
“R-room 3172, sir.”
Jotaro marched down the hallway and took the elevator up to the floor your room was on. When he finally located the room, his heart broke as he stared in through the glass window. You laid on the bed in what looked like a comatose state with a leg propped up and in a cast. Your face looked like you walked to hell and back. It was beaten black and blue, and you had an array of stitches on your forehead. This confirmed his suspicions, you had to have been fighting an enemy stand user.
“Mr. Kujo?”
Jotaro turned to the woman approaching him.
“Hi.” She stuck out her hand. “I’m the lead physician overseeing Mrs. Kujo’s care. Let me tell you what we’ve done so far…”
After a brief talk, Jotaro finally slipped into your room. Immediately, your stand manifested and jumped out to snarl at whoever dare try to hurt its user while you slept.
“Easy, Pantera, it’s just me.”
The large blue panther stopped snarling and stalked over to Jotaro. Star platinum appeared without Jotaro’s request and began petting its fellow apparition. Jotaro bypassed the two stands and walked to the side of your bed. The sound of your heart monitor filled the silence of the room as he stared down. Jotaro’s hand pulled itself from his pocket and drifted towards you. It hesitated before coming down to move a piece of hair out of your face. The gentle action woke you up.
“Jojo…” you whispered, a battered smile forming on your face, “you came.”
“Of course I came. We’re married.” And I love you.
“Where’s our Jojo?”
“I talked to the doctor. She’s in the kid’s ward right now, they think she might have a concussion after all.”
You hummed, clearly still in a daze from all the medications you had been given. “I bet she hates that. You know she’s got a big fear of the doctor.”
“I know, but she’s gotta get over that. She’s almost nine now.”
“She needs her dad,” you reminded him, finally looking directly into his eyes. His breath was stolen away as he stared at piercing e/c eyes. They brimmed with tears.
“I’m scared too, Jojo.”
He stroked the side of your face. “Don’t worry. Nobody will hurt you ever again. Not while I’m here. I’m on your side, always.”
You nuzzled into his palm, eyes fluttering closed as your body threatened to fall asleep.
“Now lay down, woman. You need to rest.”
“Okay, Jojo. I love you.”
You were knocked out before he could even respond.
“What have I dragged you into, y/n?”
----------
You signed the final paper in the large stack.
“There,” your lawyer smiled, “you’re now divorced from Mr. Kujo. You can change your name back to your maiden one, if you’d like.”
You gave a sarcastic laugh. Yeah, let me erase the final part of him that belongs to me, the only indictor that he was ever mine to begin with. You gathered up your belongings and made for the door.
“Oh, y/n.”
You turned back to your lawyer. He held up a business card in his hand.
“I know you said Jolyne has had some issues in the last few weeks, so take this. I have a good friend from law school who would be willing to take her on as a client if the need arises. You never know what could happen.”
The sharp smile on your lawyer’s face unnerved you, but you reached for the card nonetheless. Who knows, you mused to yourself.
----------
“I’m checking in to see Jolyne Cujoh, please.”
“Alright Mrs. Cujoh, we’ll need to confiscate all personal belongings for the remainder of the-”
“Its Ms. L/n. Kujo is her father’s last name.”
“Right… Well, we’ll need to take your personal belongings for the remainder of the visit as well as have you go through those metal detectors.”
After a thorough inspection, you were guided to the visitation room.
“The prisoner will be out soon, ma’am. Please wait inside as we prepare her.”
Your nose crinkled in disgust as the guard referred to Jolyne as prisoner, like she wasn’t a human being who had a name. You said nothing though, not wanting to get the visitation taken away from her. It had been hard enough to get this, since Jolyne had apparently been causing quite the ruckus in prison. As the guard pushed open the door, you stepped in.
“Finally, I’ve been wanting to talk to-”
“Jotaro?”
“Y/n?”
You startled as your ex-husband of now six years came into your line of sight. Never in a million years did you expect to see him here. He had consistently run away at any given chance, especially when it came to Jolyne. She had a life threatening fever? Gone for the Speedwagon Foundation. She stole a car? He fucked off to Japan. She was sent to juvie? He didn’t even care to send bail money.
As your heart thumped in anxiousness at the thought of the three of you all being in the same room, you recalled a question you had long ago asked yourself: what would it take for Jotaro to finally step up and become a real father? It appears Jolyne being sent to prison for manslaughter was the answer to that question. Always with the extremes for the Joestar family.
“What are you doing here?”
You put on a brave face, gripping the straps of your purse. “I’m visiting my daughter. What are you doing here?”
“I’ve come to bust our daughter out.”
“Haha, very funny, but now’s not the time for jokes.”
“I’m serious.”
“Prisoner FE40536, get your ass in there!”
The door opened to reveal Jolyne. Her eyes immediately lit up at the sight of you, but quickly turned furious as she saw the larger-than-life man behind you.
“Mama!” she cried.
“Jojo, I’ve missed you so much.”
Jotaro gave you two a moment before interrupting the heartfelt greeting.
“Listen… We need to talk. All of us.”
----------
One long talk later and both the Joestars had revealed important information to you: 1) Jolyne had a stand, and a powerful one at that, and 2) she had been framed for the entire murder.
“Would have been useful if you had told me all this during the trial,” you grumbled.
“I didn’t find out until afterwards. Plus, I couldn’t get ahold of you.”
“Yeah, well I changed my number and got a new job, so.”
“You’re not a dentist anymore? Why didn’t you tell me?”
You closed your eyes so they wouldn’t look at him. Damn his sparkling eyes and the way they sought to make eye contact with yours.
“It’s not like you would have cared.”
“I’ll always car-”
“Can you please wait to flirt with mom when we’re not trying to bust out of prison?”
There was an awkward, pregnant pause.
“... Let’s go, Jolyne.”
“How are we going to defeat Johngalli A.?”
Star platinum appeared at your ex-husband’s side. Your eyes widened, having not seen the stand in a long, long time. “We’re getting to that submarine and getting the fuck out of here. It’ll be fine, I’m on your side.”
You rolled your eyes, Pantera now manifesting at your side.
Liar.
