I’ve been struggling to work since getting covid and am now struggling for money so I have been getting food donated to my by friends. Yesterday I spent half an hour looking round the kitchen for a pot of parmesan cheese that I thought they had given me but now I’m thinking that I dreamt it. Last night I had a dream that I found it and the cheese was mixed with paprika. I was still grateful to have it because I had nothing else to flavour my rice and pasta with.

So. According to my husband, I cook him lunches so good I broke their office's only vegan.
I made the spouse creature one of his favorites. Salmon with crispy skin, crispy parmeasan brussle sprouts, and some ginger and maple pickled beets... incase you're wondering. And the poor kid was like "wow that looks amazing."
And this week he started bringing fish and chicken in his lunch sometimes.

Moltaran Molten Meatballs
Mmm! Spicy and burning; the perfect combination!
A basic meatball recipe with an added pepper sauce plus melted cheese.
Ingredients
1 lb beef
1 lb pork
yellow onion (diced or puréed)
3-4 garlic cloves, minced
fennel bulb (diced or puréed)
1 TB tomato paste
2 tsp italian seasonings
1/4 c grated parmeasan
1 tsp+ red pepper flakes (I did 1/2 tsp for my husband. Would double that, personally)
1/2 bread crumbs
1 lemon
2 eggs
salt and pepper, to taste
6 to 8 orange sweet peppers (use a single habanero if you are a sadist. I did not)
1-2 tsp honey
small amount of cheddar or mozzarella, shredded
your choice of red sauce (I season cans of Muir’s tomato sauce)
Pasta (optional)
Steps:
Broil sweet peppers until skin blisters, then flip. About 5 minutes each side. Let cool.
In a large bowl, mix meats, eggs, seasonings, fennel, 3/4 of the onion, bread crumbs, lemon, parmesan, salt, pepper, chili flakes, and tomato paste.
Form into balls, and bake at 350*F for 45 minutes, depending on the size of your meatball.
Cook red sauce on low off to the side, and boil pasta if you want it.
Peel skin off of peppers, puree with left over onion, 1/2 tsp of salt, and honey. Cook in a small sauce pan. If the pepper sauce is too thick, add water.
In a shallow dish, place your meatballs, spoon with red sauce, dollop with orange pepper sauce, and top with a little cheese.
Broil until cheese melts.
Shitty Picture:
Sweet and spicy. If my husband had a higher tolerance to spics, I’d red pepper flake this dish to hell. Essentially this was just a few extra steps on making meatballs, so I probably wouldn’t make this again. The color wasn’t spot on to the picture, but it is neon yellow so I’m giving myself a break. Otherwise, I think I achieved an approximation of a “lava sauce” look.

Favorite food crime? Cracking open a can of cranberry sauce, putting grated Parmesan on it, and eating this mix straight out of the can. My roommate has threatened to disown me for this.

But considering I still have a negative net calorie and I think eating more tonight will (hopefully) help prevent me from binging tomorrow(seems to be a habit on Sundays for some reaaon), I'll try not to be to hard on myself for it.

Caesar Salad
What's the meaning of the phrase 'Caesar Salad'?
The name of a salad typically consisting of cos lettuce, garlic, croutons and anchovies, dressed with olive oil, lemon juice and parmesan cheese.
What's the origin of the phrase 'Caesar Salad'?
'Caesar Salad' doesn't really qualify to be on this list of phrases as it isn't a phrase as such, merely the name of a dish. It's worth including however, if only to clarify its origin, which is often misrepresented.
The salad, despite the Mediterranean nature of its ingredients, is nothing to do with Caesar. Well, that's not quite true. I should say that it has nothing to do with any Roman emperor named Julius, Augustus or the like. It is widely reported that the dish was invented in the 1920s by the American restauranteur Caesar Cardini, although this is disputed by some of Cardini's family and others. Cardini's brother Alex is prominent amongst the rival claims. He says he, an ex-pilot of WWI, invented the dish and called it 'Aviator's Salad' and that the 'Caesar Salad' name was taken from 'Caesar's', which was the name of the restaurant it was first served in.
What isn't disputed is that Caesar Cardini, either by virtue of his name or of the name of his restaurant, is the Caesar that the dish is now widely believed to be named for.
The earliest known reference to the foodstuff in print is in the American columnist Dorothy Kilgallen's Voice of Broadway column in The News-Herald, August 1946:
The big food rage in Hollywood - the Caesar salad - will be introduced to New Yorkers by Gilmore's Steak House. It's an intricate concoction that takes ages to prepare and contains (zowie!) lots of garlic, raw or slightly coddled eggs, croutons, romaine, anchovies, parmeasan cheese, olive oil, vinegar and plenty of black pepper.
Here's a list of some other dishes that were named after people:
Battenberg cake – named after one of the Battenberg family. The family gave up their German titles during World War I to become Mountbatten.
Béchamel sauce - the Marquis de Béchamel, steward to Louis XIV.
Beef Stroganoff - the Russian nobleman Count Stroganov.
Beef Wellington - Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington.
Nacho - Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Anaya, Mexican chef.
Frangipane - the 16th-century Italian Marquis Muzio Frangipani.
Garibaldi biscuits - Giuseppe Garibaldi, Italian patriot.
Earl Grey tea - Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey, British Prime Minister.
Pavlova -Anna Pavlova, Russian ballerina.
Pizza Margherita - Queen Margherita of Savoy, who was presented with this pizza in the colours of the Italian flag.
Peach Melba/Melba toast - Dame Nellie Melba, Australian soprano.
Sandwiches - John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich.
Victoria Sponge - Queen Victoria.

@dragonpawbs I don’t have xkit on my laptop since it wont install, but you can get parmeasan on pizza at like 90% of places as far as I know. I guess my question is more of “does it give both the experience of chicken parm and pizza at the same time”?
