“Nah, saying it doesn’t feel good. I’ll just think it.” He allowed a moment of silence so that he could shift his body closer to her, sliding his arm around his best friend and pulling her into his side. Cassía had been one of his core people from a young age and seeing this repeated cycle of her being treated like this by guys was exhausting. Sure, Parker was known to be a player, but it sure as hell wasn’t in his being to treat anyone like that. Sometimes it felt like she gravitated to people who didn’t appreciate everything she was and was blind to those who did. “Don’t get it twisted, Cas…the ice cream is for me. I’ve got emotions too, you know.” He gave her shoulder a little nudge and started into the ice cream before handing her his spoon. “I’d like to say I’d fight them, but my fighting days ended in high school. Suspensions really build character and I’m a changed man. Naturally, I would egg their houses, but you would have to drive. Or we can just go on a tour of town and you can hang out of the sunroof with a carton of eggs. I’m not opposed to either option.” His heart sank when he heard her last words, and he immediately moved to face her, his hand dropping to take hold of hers.
“What’d I say about talking like that? We’re not fuckin’ doing it, that’s what. You might not have the best ass in this room, but you’ve got the best personality in this room. You’re fucking incredible, Cassía. We’re not letting some dumb ass guy let you think otherwise.” Pausing, he used his thumbs to gently wipe her tear-stained cheeks. “Now say it with me or I’m going to have to make you eat four spoonfuls of ice cream. ‘I’m Cassía Dos Santos Silva and I’m fucking incredible’.”
"You can say it, I deserve it." When it came to dating, Cassía was often treated as a piece of meat rather than someone with a heart. She was someone that got her hopes up fairly easily, and maybe that was due to appreciating the promise of a person. Growth was a big deal to her, as it had shaped her own life so much. It was what she wanted in a partner but most seemed to lose interest either after they tried and failed to get into her pants or actually managed to. Parker had been solid at her side since they were kids. Her mother used to always ask why she didn't date that cute neighbor boy, and her response had always been that they were too good of friends. "You know I'm only going to eat two spoonfuls." A gesture toward his old habit of bringing along ice cream. Cassía was into keeping her figure tight. For herself and because she liked to look good. "What would you do to put them in their place? It's not like it's going to change anything, Park. I'm still nothing more than a pretty face with a great ass."
