parker and the douglass' lose the light of their family.

parker looks towards the stands, her heart falling to her stomach when she doesn’t spot her mom in the familiar spot she always sits. 

“come on dougie!” one of her teammates yells, 

“sorry,” parker calls back turning back to her team, “lets go get that trophy!” she cheers joining the pack once again. 

parker sits on the bench in the locker room frowning at her phone,

“ms.douglass,” her coach says as he walks into the room, a frown on his face, voice grim, “can you come with me please?” 

“of course,” parker says, pushing herself up and out of her stall, following her coach down the hall. 

“parker,” the coach says as they stop a good distance from the locker room, “i just talked to your dad, and your mom-” the coach stops,

“no-” parker gasps, “no, don’t say it,”

“parker i’m so sorry, but she passed away. she got t-boned on her way here and died on impact,” parker feels her knees go weak,

“no-” she croaks out before she begins to sobs, “NO!”

parker has no idea how she got home. she’s pretty sure she took the bus with her teammates but she doesn’t remember.

but now shes sitting on her couch sobbing, wrapped up in her brothers arms,

“shhhh,” carson shushes, “it’s ok parker,” 

“ITS MY FAULT!” parker cries loudly, “I NEVER SHOULD’VE PLAYED!”

“oh honey,” mike whispers approaching his children pulling his little girl into his arms, “it isn’t your fault,” the father reassures, “it’s the idiot that was drinking at 10 am on a saturday afternoons fault,” 

“SHE NEVER WOULD’VE BEEN THERE IF I DIDN’T HAVE A GAME!” the girl continues to scream cry. the ex-nhler just pulls parker closer reaching his arms out,

“get in here boys,” he says, “group hug,”

“parker?” bryson asks as he opens the door to his baby sisters room, carson standing behind him, “we were thinking,”

“get out!” parker snaps,

“lets just go for a drive and some ice cream ok? and mo wants to call to check in,” the eldest continues, getting parkers attention with the mention of adam,

“mo?” she asks. carson and bryson exchange a look,

“mo,” the brothers say in unison confirming it. parker lifts her head looking at her older siblings, 

“ok,” she mumbles, “but not long ok? i just want to hide,” both boys hold there arms out,

“come on parks,” bryson whispers, “let’s go,”

after they’re able to coax parker out of her room she doesn’t leave again till summer training for field hockey kicks back up.

then macklin celebrini shows up.

born in Chicago, IL on February 14th, 2006 her parents lovebug because of her v-day birthday

present day they live in the north shore of chicago

youngest and only daughter of mikey and natalie douglass

the backstory

mikey played in the nhl with the blackhawks from 2000-2017 winning 3 stanley cups he now works in the front office and is highly involved in the hockey community

parker has 2 older brothers carson and bryson they both play hockey and played for the steel and are now at bc

parker plays field hockey

in 2018 when Owen Power came to play for the steel mikey and natalie offered to take him in, then adam fantilli came

then in the summer of 2022 natalie passed away in a car accident breaking the family, specifically parker who shut everyone else

so mikey told the steel they couldnt handle a new billet

but rick celebrini came knocking and insisting that they take his son in

parker HATED it and mikey forgot to tell her so that pissed her off even more

"oh its so good to see you sweetie," robyn coos, "hows school going?" she asks,

"its ok," parker says, "a lot of work,"

"heard you won a natty," rick says leaning over his wife, "congrats kid," parker smiles ducking her head down,

"thank you," parker whispers, "it was incredible for sure

"and my boy?" robyn asks, "hes doing good?" the chicagoan giggles,

"yah. wish i could see him more," the mom smiles,

"soon," she promises, "a couple more years," parker sighs,

"yah yah yah. i've got a few more nattys to win,"

i know you talked a bit about parker losing some love for field hockey after her mom…. maybe mack is really curious about the sport and when they start becoming friends he asks a lot about the sport and it helps parker to start loving the sport again?

parker sitting and watching a game and mack comes in and she goes to turn the tv off and go upstairs and he's just like,

"you dont have to go,"

"im not going to make you watch my sport," macklin shrugs,

"i dont mind," he admits, "you might just have to explain some stuff. its not that much like hockey right?"

"no, no its not," she says softly as she hesitantly moves to sit back down, sending one more look to mack who sends her a reassuring smile.

oooo im so intrigued!!

is parker not a fan of mack at first ? and is mack kinda like immediately liking her and she can’t stand him?

mack just wants to get to know her because they're the same age and she seems so cool

but parker has NO interest in him he came out of NOWHERE

and of course he has to drive him around whenever he wants to go

Not to jump right in, but i feel like parker has a lot of guilt about her mom's death

oh she does

when her team wins the tournament and she looks at the stands and her mom isn't there

her mom went to everyone of her games, was always the loudest one in the stands, but she wasn't there

so when she finds out natalie is dead because of her game she feels terrible

oooh after mack finds parker crying in school it kinda is the start of them slightly becoming friends …. maybe parker smiling at mack for the first time even a little one and mack is like omg 😁🥺

she starts talking to him more

not a ton but just asking questions and being more of a friendly face

"are you ok?" he asks. parker glares at her billet brother,

"shut the fuck up," she snaps, "you would never understand," she grits out as she pulls out of the parking lot,

"well maybe if you talk to me about it," he says softly, "i'm a really good listener," parker snorted,

"oh you want to hear about how my mom died?" she asks voice loud, "and how it was my fault!" she follows up, "ALL MY FAULT MACK!" macklin sinks back into his seat,

"i'm sorry," he mumbles, "but really i could listen if you wanted to talk," he reassures, "like actually,"
